The next morning, Mena awoke with a smile on her face...at least on the outside. She didn't even show much interest in her Dream Island aside from lounging on it and being served Hay Martinis by Straw Woman. And when she rose from her bed, she grinned at May. "Wowie zowie! Good to be at the top of the morning rather than the bottom right?!"

May reached for her spectacles on the nightstand. Mena tried to avoid looking at the photograph May had on the nightstand. It showed a picture of May standing hand in hand with her convenient store manager mother, Loreena Cumberson. Their Wormwood convenient store and the whole city (and planet too) had been consumed by the Nightmare Void.

May had a dire glare on her face, looking like an angry pug dog as she gazed at Mena. But when Mena winced, her friend gave her an uneasy smile. "Right...Mena," May murdered. "I'm happy you're not forced to dive into your nightmares anymore."

Mena ran a brush frantically through her hair. She swept and combed and brush her bushy locks trying to forget May's scowl. "She sure has a right to have an upside down smile," Mena muttered to herself. "But I'll just try to give her the best day ever!"

"Guess what today is, May?!" Mena said, a large bracey grin on her face. "Our Super Duper Super Pals talent search day!"

"Our what?" May muttered to herself.

"Today we're gonna find out new friend to replace that treacherous Janus! Someone who wouldn't betray our cause!"

Much to Mena's relief, May smiled and she spoke in her low deep voice. "Well I have wanted to meet some new people in Nightdream Academy, Mena. I feel like our friend circle has been so tight that we haven't had time to expand it!"

"Of course!" Mena said, and she grinned. "Now that we're in the Brain Sea, the whole school is our oyster and our new friends are its pearls!"

Mena let out a happy sigh. Now she could finally go back to being an ordinary magic schoolgirl. No drama, just friends, fun and Friyays! Unfortunately, when she headed down to the Cloud Hall, there were some unscrupulous characters who wouldn't allow that.
