In the infinite void, an entity watched as an infinite number of universes around it unfold.
The movement of each universe was imperceptibly fast but it suddenly stops to show a world that the entity particularly liked. She looked down on the world and saw that her first participant still had the same problem.
Hmm… Michael still can’t speak huh? Maybe, I should remove that psychological barrier. Nah… He can handle it on his own. His mind is still intact, that’s the most important factor. As long as he can function, he’ll eventually recover, especially with Evelyn to help him.
Goddess looks at Teremarae.
Has he already reached the iron age? In a year and 1 and a half months, he’s progressed from using stone tools to heating his first iron ore… It does help to have a bodyguard that’s immune to most physical damage. Hmmm… but he treats her as a friend. I did not expect them to go down that route.
Goddess observed Michael as he started to heat the metal.
Oh… this batch is going to fail.
Michael spent a few hours continuously trying to smelt the metal but when night falls, the ore was still solid.
Goddess chuckles as she watches Michael fail on the first try.
Well… that is part of the learning process. Good luck Michael.
After observing Michael, Goddess turns her attention to Evelyn.
While Michael was trying his best to understand forging, Evelyn was in the forest hunting.
Evelyn lost her cloak when she defended the chokepoint. The night beasts couldn’t pierce her skin but they could rip her clothes apart. When she asked Michael if he had any spare clothes, he said he didn’t have any.
Goddess admired Evelyn, both in character and physique.
Yep, she looks perfect. You’ve outdone yourself again.
Evelyn was accompanied by a small little furry creature.
Goddess smiled to herself as she observed Bob, a very interesting member of the group.
Despite not being human, Bob was very close to both Michael and Evelyn. Unlike the other creatures of Teremarae, whose evolutions focused almost entirely on the physical side, Bob’s mind was slowly becoming sharper and more rational.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
If this situation continues, Bob might become the first natural-born human-like creature in Teremarae. That… That would be very interesting.
Goddess chuckled to herself as she remembered a certain anthropologist that managed to figure out a fraction of a fraction of her plans.
Well… if he was here, he would surely feel vindicated for all his work.
Goddess then watched the trio continue their tasks for the day.
Michael continued his trial-and-error experiment. It was tough and extremely hot. It also annoyed him since he didn’t have Evelyn or Bob to help him relieve his boredom. Despite the joy of learning a new skill, the waiting parts were still boring.
Satisfied with Michael, Goddess turns her eye to Evelyn.
Evelyn was already in the process of skinning an animal she hunted. It wasn’t enough to give her a cloak but she decided that something less bulky would be nice. After all, Evelyn only wore Michael’s extra cloak. She planned on creating clothes that were a fit for her body.
Goddess nods approvingly. She then turns her vision to Bob.
Bob was accompanying Evelyn but he didn’t stay by her side. Bob always explored the general area of his companions but he made sure to keep close. Currently, the young monkey was looking for bone spiders and other animals that posed a risk to Evelyn. He preferred the bone spiders as he considered their meat to be a delicious treat.
Rich laughter fills the void as Goddess watches the adorable monkey swing from tree to tree.
Well… at least they’re good as a team.
After watching the trio, Goddess turns her eyes to another creature. Michael considers this creature the most powerful monster in Teremarae. As of the moment, Goddess agreed.
Others will evolve but as of now, the Draco reigns supreme.
The Draco was walking towards its nest. Other smaller super reptiles were following it. These smaller super reptiles were juveniles. They were the offspring of the Draco but they did not inherit the Draco’s evolution.
When the small super reptiles try to approach their father, the Draco roars at them. They shrink away in fear. The Draco looks at the small super reptiles in disdain. He roars again which causes them to scatter. The remaining few are whimpering and hiding.
The Draco leaves without comforting them.
Once alone, the Draco walked to its private nest. On top of its nest were three eggs. Each egg was larger than any of the previous super reptile eggs.
A gentle roar comes from another super reptile within the private nest. This specific super reptile was unusually large. It was at least twice as big as a regular super reptile. The Draco roars at it to approach. Despite roaring, it was not angry or demanding it was very endearing of the large super reptile.
This large super reptile was its main and first mate.
While the Draco became large and stronger, it could no longer take any of the smaller super reptiles as its mate. The weaker and smaller super reptiles could not withstand the strength of the Draco and ended up dying during the mating process, except for this unique super reptile.
When the Draco’s size grew due to its evolution, its first mate slowly evolved as well. It didn’t evolve like the Draco but it became able to match the Draco in physical strength and virility. Because of this, it was the only super reptile that could survive mating with the Draco.
It annoyed the Draco that the other members of the pack could not keep up with him. To avoid their numbers dwindling, it allowed the newly migrated male super reptiles to mate with the female reptiles of their pack.
The two apex creatures approach each other and rub their necks together. They lightly growl indicating their care for each other. The Draco then pulls away to look at the three large eggs under its mate.
It looked proud. It finally managed to produce offspring that had the potential to be as strong or stronger than him.
Then it looked back at its mate. It felt invigorated to create more.
Goddess changes the channel when the two super reptiles start to do the deed.
Well, at least it’s exciting down there…
She chuckles once more when she finishes surveying the interesting things in Teremarae.
Now, that’s done… let’s canvas the next person… or persons, I’m going to send there. Now now, who to pick?
Before Goddess could view Earth or its many parallel worlds, she feels a pang of pain in her chest.
Not again.
Looking to another universe, Goddess sees Earth get consumed by darkness.
Tsk… I need to act faster.
