Chapter 7: Nightmare World

Chapter 7: Nightmare World

The two humans in Teremarae looked at each other, with one on top of a powerful predator while the other was knee-deep in swamp water.

Due to Goddess’ choice, the two humans were unparalleled in beauty and appearance. If the two of them returned to Earth, they would be the center of global attention.

The only humans in Teremarae continued to stare at each other.

Their staring only lasts for a moment when Evelyn notices that Michael’s eyes start to move downwards. She subconsciously covers her body but quickly berates herself.

Evelyn, get a hold of yourself. What is this? 2049?

Evelyn stopped covering her body to stare back at Michael.

After making sure that Evelyn was still alive, Michael looks around. Bob signs to Michael. Evelyn felt perplexed seeing Michael, the human, and Bob, the monkey, communicate using their hands.

The monkey is using sign language? What?

Ignoring Evelyn, Michael looks at Bob and he nods. He then turns to Evelyn and he moves his head to signify that they should get moving. He turns away to leave.

Evelyn didn’t like that.

“Hey!”

When Evelyn raises her voice, Michael immediately jumps toward her. Unable to react to his sudden movement, Evelyn feels a hand cover her mouth. He then makes a shushing sign.

Evelyn stops speaking but the moment Michael lets her go, she screams angrily.

“Hey, you can’t just do that.”

Michael looked at Evelyn with a confused face. He then grabs her hand and starts to move but Evelyn resists and pulls her hand away.

“Can you stop?”

Michael frowns. He looks around and starts to sign. He pointed at the distance multiple times and said “let’s go”.

Evelyn rolls her eyes.

No, this is my dream! I’m not letting anyone, even if they have a great body, tell me off! I’ll enjoy this body as much as I can.

Ignoring the annoyed Michael, Evelyn stretches her body. She flexes her muscles and she feels an insane amount of power flowing through her veins.

Wow… I’ve never felt this even before… no… I have felt this before. I felt it when I broke past my limit during the tournament… but that was only a fraction of what I’m feeling now…

Evelyn releases a satisfied sigh. When she turns around, she notices that Michael is waiting for her. Groaning, she tells him off.

“Are you still here?”

Evelyn was not fond of Michael. She did not like the idea of someone trying to handle her or the fact that he was forcing her to do something. If this was a real situation, Evelyn might have gone against her wishes and gone with Michael but this was a dream, and in her dream, she was not gonna let anyone push her around.

Especially a man.

“Leave already you mute caveman. I don’t need your help.”

Michael frowns. Bob angrily signs at Evelyn but she couldn’t understand the monkey so she ignored him.

Realizing that Evelyn doesn’t want to leave with him, Michael thinks for a bit. He looks at Bob and then at Evelyn. Sighing, he shrugs and turns to leave.

Good riddance.

Watching Michael leave, Evelyn observed her new body. She noticed that she has extremely sharp senses so she knew when Michael was gone.

But now that Michael was gone, something else came.

~Growl~

At least, I’ll have some fun with this body before I wake up.

Evelyn turns around and picks up a nearby branch. She glared at the super reptile’s eyes as it slowly stood up from its nap.

----------------------------------------

Bob was throwing a tantrum. He was signing horrible things as he complained about Evelyn. Michael contemplated how Bob managed to string along such a scathing sentence in sign language when he didn’t even teach some of the signs that the little monkey was using.

Michael sighed and gave Bob a reassuring pat.

~ROAR!!~

Michael turned around in the direction where he left Evelyn. Bob started making a stronger tantrum. He was complaining that they should just leave her to her doom.

Michael turns around and continues to walk. Bob has a triumphant and smug smile on his face.

~ROAR!!!!~

Michael stops for a moment then he continues walking.

~ROAR!!!!!!~

Michael stops walking. Bob frowns. He knew that Michael was contemplating something.

~ROAR!!!!!!!!~

Michael was about to move but he was stopped by the powerful roar.

He starts to think.

It was the 12th month or to be specific, it’s been exactly a year since he was first sent to Teremarae..

In just 12 months, this place has slowly broken Michael in both body and mind. If it was like Earth where he had to deal with normal creatures, Michael would have fared better. He was still alive but he was having a hard time. The constant threat of evolving monsters and the absence of other people weighed down on him

Even with Bob by his side, Michael only managed to slow down the inevitability of the situation.

Humans weren’t meant to survive alone.

Looking at the forest around him, Michael knew that he would become more than an animal and less than a human if the situation continued.

Michael looks at Bob and notices that the monkey is dissatisfied with the situation. Despite being unhappy, Michael knew that Bob would come with him. After all, they were friends.

Bob signs.

Michael signs back.

~ROAR!!!!!!!!!!~

Looking at each other, the two friends both nod and go towards the roar.

----------------------------------------

Evelyn dodged backward as the super reptile lunged forward. Her athletic nature combined with her new body gave her faster movement and quicker reaction times.

Finding a gap in the monstrous lizard’s attacks, Evelyn swings her thick stick which strikes the creature’s body. It connects but it deals no damage and the monster lunges at her again.

I can’t move its body.

Evelyn dodges as the creature almost rips her head off. Gaining some space between her and the reptile, Evelyn notices something.

It has slow turning points. Let’s take advantage of that.

Going underneath its legs, Evelyn swings her makeshift club with all her might.

~Thud!~

The super reptile releases a pained groan as the club strikes the super reptile’s slightly softer stomach.

The super reptile tried to move so it could grab Evelyn but she followed the super reptile’s movement. With each clumsy movement, the super reptile’s body suffers Evelyn’s Olympic-level strength.

While its scales can withstand constant strikes, the super reptile’s stomach can only take so much punishment. The super reptile roars in pain and its rage force it to move. Despite having the advantage, Evelyn was starting to feel bored with this pattern.

Not enough! More! I want to experience this body more!

Despite her steady path to victory, Evelyn runs out of the safety of the super reptile’s underside and to uncertainty. With all of her energy, Evelyn ran with a smile on her face. She felt every fiber and muscle of her body releasing unbelievable amounts of energy.

The super reptile chased her.

Evelyn ducks as the super reptile’s powerful jaws almost ripped her head off. Continuing to evade the super reptile, she sees a small dirt incline. Looking up, she sees vines hanging off some tall trees.

Yeah! Let’s do this!

Evelyn dodges the super reptile’s lunge by rolling forward and immediately continuing her run. Getting closer, Evelyn starts to sprint at full speed and when she reaches the ramp, she jumps at the edge and she catches one of the vines.

Feeling the blast of wind hit her face and adrenaline flowing through her veins, Evelyn screams in excitement.

“WOOOH!”

Evelyn swings forward as the super reptile leaps up to chomp on her legs. The super reptile barely misses as Evelyn’s momentum gives her enough strength to jump to the next vine.

The super reptile chases beneath her as Evelyn continues to swing from vine to vine. During one of her swings, Evelyn opts to throw the thick club at the super reptile’s head. It strikes unerringly and the super reptile growls.

Evelyn lets out a burst of hearty laughter as for the moment, she seems to forget all of her troubles.

Ah… this is bliss…

~Roar!~

Evelyn lands on a thick branch as she hears the second roar. Looking down, Evelyn sees another super reptile entering the area.

Two huh… Hmmm, how am I going to get out of this?

Evelyn looks down again to observe the hyper-realistic super reptiles. Studying their long yellowish teeth and gaping maws, Evelyn shrugs.

No need to think too hard.

Evelyn stretches, enjoying the way her muscles move. Looking down, she prepares to jump.

Yeah, like that girl in the arena. She was flexible and graceful. It took her entire life to be that good… I don’t know how… but I think I’m better than her now.

Not aware of how her body fully works, Evelyn moves in a way that was more graceful and flexible compared to that athlete she admired. As Goddess promised, her body had talent that would be considered world-class in her previous life.

Evelyn jumped forward, basking in the newfound abilities that her body provided her.

She felt exhilarated and invincible. She felt that she could do anything. She felt that she was at the top of the world but then she was struck in the stomach by something sharp.

Wha...

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Evelyn groaned in pain as she felt something hard strike her stomach. It did not pierce the skin, an effect of her divine gift but it was enough to disrupt her graceful fall and turn it into a lethal descent.

While gravity’s cruel grip starts pulling her down, Evelyn frantically looks around but immediately sees the sharp object's source. It was an eight-legged creature that was similar to Earth’s spiders. But instead of fur and feelers, its whole body was covered with bone-like appendages. Instead of mandibles, it had a giant mouth filled with teeth meant for tearing and shredding.

The creature was an entity that surely came from the nightmares of psychopaths. Evelyn felt terrified as she observed the monstrous spider. Evelyn watched as the creature hid back in the trees with a single eye out, observing her fall.

Wait… is this… a nightmare?

The two super reptiles seemed to roar in celebration as their meal was slowly falling towards them. They opened their mouths similar to waiting alligators. They were prepared to jump and rip Evelyn’s body in half.

Evelyn tried everything.

She tried to will her body to move, similar to the time when she was with Goddess.

She couldn’t fly and she continued to fall.

This… isn’t real right?

Then she felt the super reptiles leap forward and close their powerful jaws on her body.

Evelyn screamed as she felt the super reptile’s enormous teeth dig into her body.

----------------------------------------

Michael ran as fast as he could.

Bob went ahead as he swung vine to vine. As he continued to rush, Michael used a ramp and leaped forward. Despite not being as graceful or as elegant as Evelyn is, Michael’s body was far stronger. This wasn’t due to him being a man but rather his time in Teremarae has evolved his body almost beyond mortal means.

He was still within human range but if he continued, he would eventually surpass human parameters.

With his enhanced body, Michael launches himself upward and he immediately reaches the vines without much effort. Seeing that, Bob started making noises that showcased his annoyance.

Michael sees Bob getting envious of his almost superhuman strength and he smiles.

At least Michael was getting stronger to survive this hellish world.

Swinging from a vine, Michael lands on a thick branch.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Bob hides behind Michael as they both hear Evelyn’s horrid scream

Michael quickly surveys the area and finds that there was an almost invisible trail of blood. Surprisingly, there isn’t much blood. Looking around, Michael notices a hiding bone spider.

Bob points at it the moment the two of them saw it.

Michael nods and takes out the log.

The bone spider looked almost the same as its original kin but during his time here, Michael knew that the bone spider has evolved multiple times due to him and the Draco’s expansion.

Bone Spider

Classification: Animal (Arachnid)

Description: A monstrous spider-like creature with a size similar to a medium dog. Unlike the spider species present on Earth, the bone spider has a large mouth filled with rows and rows of teeth instead of mandibles. They have the ability to shoot spikes from their mouths made out of quickly formed calcium. As they evolved due to their hostile environment, the bone spiders eventually gained the ability of their Earthly kin where they are now able to stick on non-vertical surfaces with the use of extremely sharp but almost invisible spikes all around their body.

Possible Effects: Organs that store a large amount of calcium.

Possible Evolution Number: 6th iteration: The bone spider’s original territory coincided with the newly evolved Draco. Aware that they could not contend unless they evolve in a massive way, similar to the Draco, the bone spiders instead evolved to live in a symbiotic way rather than against the Draco. With the super reptiles being unable to ascend the heights of the large trees of Teremarae, the newly evolved bone spider species was able to climb them. And to ensure that the super reptile left them alone, bone spiders evolved to assist the super reptiles in their hunts, only eating what is left to them.

Michael frowns.

He looks at the hidden bone spider and notices that it is staring at him. Michael takes his bone knife and hands it to Bob.

Michael makes a sign. Seeing it, Bob nods.

Bob climbs to the trees and disappears. Michael looks around and sees a nearby branch. Taking ahold of the branch he’s on, Michael uses it as a handle and leaps forward. As expected, the bone spider takes a shot toward Michael.

Mid-jump, Michael uses his quick reflexes to grab the bone dagger mid-air. He then lands on the branch he targeted. The bone spider spits out another bone dagger toward Michael.

Michael hides behind a thick trunk. He hears the sound of bone clashing with wood as the bone spider continues to spit out a barrage of sharpened calcium.

Then silence.

Michael peeks out of the thick trunk and sees Bob angrily stabbing the bone spider with a bone knife.

The creature tries to shake off Bob but the little monkey rampages on its back. Bob holds on tightly to the bone spider’s large back and continues to stab its weak points with his sharpened sharp bone knife.

Eventually, the bone spider stops moving as Bob manages to pierce its head by striking a weak point on the skull. The bone spider falls as Bob drives the knife deeper into the monster’s skull.

Once the bone spider was dead, Bob releases a battle cry while drenched in spider blood.

Michael hits the trunk beside him and Bob stops screaming. Bob then swings toward the area where Michael was.

Michael catches Bob and puts him on his shoulder.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!”

Michael quickly leaps off the tree and grabs a vine that leads him toward the scream. Despite his urgency to save Evelyn, Michael was confused. If Evelyn was captured by the super reptiles, she shouldn’t have been able to scream because she would be dead. He was confused as to why she was still alive. If he was somehow captured by a super reptile, he would surely die in its mouth.

Michael was curious about how Evelyn survived. Maybe, he could learn it too?

As Michael continues to traverse the higher part of the forest and evade incoming bone daggers, Michael finally sees a super reptile.

His heart stops as he sees not one but rather two super reptiles. The two super reptiles were fighting over their prey.

Michael squints his eyes and sees the poor creature being bit and torn apart by the massive reptiles.

It was Evelyn.

Contrary to what Michael expected, Evelyn’s body was fully intact. He was expecting a severed limb or crushed leg but after approaching the scene of carnage, he noticed that Evelyn’s body was mostly fine minus a few bleeding holes.

The monstrous reptiles kept fighting over Evelyn but they were smart enough to move near a water source. After all, they still needed to slake their thirst.

The two super reptiles tried to rip Evelyn apart. Evelyn’s upper and lower body were both in the two super reptile’s mouths. The monstrous creatures continued to bite and chomp on Evelyn’s body but Evelyn’s body was holding on.

Noticing how distracted the super reptiles were, Michael hefts his spear and aims it at the super reptile that was currently devouring Evelyn’s upper body.

Bob was quiet. He observed Michael’s body as it started gathering strength for his next move.

Michael waited for the super reptiles to stop thrashing. Evelyn continued to bleed but Michael had no choice but to wait. If he threw it early, the spear would just bounce off the super reptile’s unbelievably thick and tough skin. Michael needed to wait.

He waited.

He waited for more.

Tired of being unable to chew Evelyn, the two super reptiles seem to relax a bit. Michael makes his move.

Michael’s body tenses as he steps forward and releases the spear with a powerful throw. The spear flies with immense speed.

While Michael didn’t have anyone to compare with, his spear throw surpasses the speed and strength of Olympic-level athletes.

The spear flies through the air and straight to the super reptile’s head. The monstrous creature chomping on Evelyn’s upper body notices an object fly towards it but it was too slow to move away.

Michael’s spear pierces the super reptile’s skull through its eye socket and it roars in pain. Evelyn’s upper body flails around as the super reptile lets go. Michael notices that Evelyn was unconscious from the pain and shock.

The other super reptile takes advantage of the moment and starts to swallow Evelyn whole.

Michael gives Bob a bag of meat and a small leaf bag. Michael signs toward his monkey companion and Bob swings away.

Michael frowns as he looks at the two super reptiles. At any other time and moment, Michael would not risk fighting one of these creatures. One wrong move and he would be dead but did he really want to spend another year alone with a monkey?

If Bob knew of Michael’s thoughts, the little monkey would get angry.

Looking around for bone spiders, Michael finds three. They’re all greedily looking at Evelyn. They’re waiting for her to get ripped into shreds so they can eat. Despite focusing their attention on Evelyn, the bone spiders were also looking at Michael with hungry eyes.

After taking the area and his enemies into account, Michael takes a deep breath and prepares himself for what was to come.

Looking at each bone spider, Michael runs forward then he leaps off the large tree branch.

Time seems to slow down as all three bone daggers fly toward Michael.

He expected this.

He was prepared. His hands were outstretched as he prepared to catch them.

One.

Two.

Three.

Falling towards the super reptile, Michael catches all three bone daggers. As he is about to land, he accurately throws all three at the super reptile attempting to devour Evelyn's body.

Each bone dagger was targeted at the super reptile’s face. They all connect but most of them hit the super reptile’s tough scales but one of them hits the super reptile’s eyes.

Michael felt relieved as he heard the second super reptile’s roar of pain. Then he hears the sound of splashing water as the second super reptile releases Evelyn’s unconscious body.

Michael safely lands on a dry part of the ground. He observed the two super reptiles roaring as they futilely attempted to remove the objects embedded in their eyes.

Looking at the knee-deep water, Michael moved forward. He knew that this was the super reptile’s preferred area of combat, a place where land creatures would have a hard time moving.

He pulls out his stone knife. He studies its sharpness as he watches the super reptiles’ every movement.

The moment Michael enters the water, the first super reptile turns to him to roar. Michael could see the spear jutting out of the first super reptile’s head.

It roars at Michael and charges toward him. Michael’s knee-deep legs slowed him down but he was prepared to fight for his life. He knew that he needed to kill these two super reptiles. If he didn’t, both of them might evolve into another Deus Draco or worse.

Michael did not want that. The ground shakes and the water was disturbed as the blinded first super reptile rushes toward Michael. Michael calmly waits for the super reptile to reach him.

The charging super reptile unhinges its maw to reveal a wall of razor-sharp teeth built to rip and tear meat. That mouth suddenly snaps as the charging super reptile finally closes the gap between it and Michael.

Michael was prepared and he dodges by moving forward, just barely avoiding the reptile’s maw. Aware of the non-evolved super reptile’s weakness of weak turning points, Michael immediately goes to the first super reptile’s side.

The creature tried to bite Michael but it couldn’t turn its head or body fast enough, providing Michael with a safe area. Gripping his knife, Michael plunges it deep into the first super reptile’s remaining eye.

The reptile screeches in pain.

Without missing a beat, Michael hits the flat of the hilt with his palm, pushing the blade deeper into the reptile’s skull. The reptile thrashes its body and Michael is sent flying. He hits the dirt and he winces from the pain. Michael thought at least the super reptile was blind.

~ROAR!!!~

Michael quickly rolls away as the other super reptile stomps on the ground where Michael fell. The super reptile starts to stomp on the ground while chasing Michael. Michael continues to roll away as the super reptile continues to chase him. As he moved away, Michael saw that the super reptile was actively trying to crush him, instead of using its mouth to grab him.

Michael frowns as the super reptile that’s chasing him evolved in a way he did not expect. While there was no physical evolution, this super reptile learned to use its massive weight to compensate, a minor mental evolution.

Thinking of what to do, Michael made a mistake and the super reptile’s large claw fell upon him.

~Thud~

He grits his teeth in pain as the second super reptile’s right forelimb manages to step on Michael’s right arm. Michael tries to pull away but the creature’s weight effortlessly pins his arm.

Michael internally curses. Still, on the floor, he looks around and sees Evelyn half submerged. Fortunately, her face wasn’t submerged, or else she would have drowned.

Internally grumbling, Michael asks himself why did he have to come back. He could’ve just found another animal to befriend.

But the terrifying sound of a hungry monstrous reptile snapped Michael out of his thoughts. Looking at his captor, Michael saw the super reptile slowly angle itself until its maw was in front of Michael. It opens its large mouth full of sharp teeth.

The monstrous beast releases a guttural sound. Saliva and small chunks of meat fall on Michael’s body. Its breath was horrendous.

Michael frowns and scrunches his nose.

As the monstrous creature comes closer, Michael looks around for anything he can use. If he used his club, the creature would just be annoyed and proceed to crush his head.

Then he sees a glimmer of hope.

The second super reptile suddenly roars in pain as the blind super reptile bit its back.

Michael’s right arm was set free and he immediately rolls away. The blind super reptile lets go but it smells a chunk of meat on the non-blind super reptile and it takes a bite. The non-blind super reptile was confused as to why it was being attacked.

Ever since the Deus Draco took charge, the species evolved as a whole to work together in packs instead of lone hunters. They never attacked each other unless they were starving.

While pushing off the blind super reptile, the second super reptile felt something hit its back. Looking up, it sees a small furry creature throwing chunks of freshly cut meat at it. The blind super reptile, who is panicking at its blindness, attacks the places where it can smell the meat, causing immense pain in the non-blind super reptile.

Michael manages to leave the two super reptiles and he goes to Evelyn. Taking her out of the water, Michael starts to perform a rudimentary check-up. Seeing that Evelyn was stable, Michael lifts her up. As he lifts her, he hears the sound of something flying through the air.

Ducking, he hears a splash in the water and sees a bone dagger hit the ground. Looking around, he sees dozens of bone spiders. They called more of their brethren while Michael was busy fighting against the two super reptiles. A hail of bone daggers rain on Michael.

Immediately dropping Evelyn, Michael dodges and weaves as his almost superhuman eyes accurately follow the incoming bone daggers. The ones he can’t dodge, he catches. Using one of the bone daggers, he blocks incoming bone daggers while catching them with his other free hand. He stores as much as he can in his leaf bag.

When the bone spiders pause to create more bone daggers in the hellish vessels they call their bodies, Michael immediately makes a sign to Bob. Bob sees it and throws all the remaining meat on the non-blind super reptile.

Michael immediately ducks down and carries Evelyn who sputters out some water. He looks for Bob, who’s still emptying his meat bags. Michael waves his hand toward Bob. Bob moves quicker so that he can quickly empty the meat bag.

Once the meat bag is devoid of any meat, Bob rushes back to Michael’s side.

Allowing Bob to land on his back, Michael runs from the fight with Evelyn in his arms. Seeing Michael move away, the non-blind super reptile tries to chase the fleeing human but it’s suddenly knocked to the ground as the blind super reptile charges its wounded body.

Michael ignores the pained roars as the two super reptiles start to fight each other in a desperate bid for survival. Once he’s safely far away from the carnage, Michael puts down Evelyn on a soft patch of grass.

He pulls out his club and gives it to Bob. Then he makes a sign to Bob.

Bob nods and stays to guard Evelyn.

Michael gives Bob a thankful look then he immediately rushes back to the carnage. Once he re-enters the knee-deep water, Michael sees the heavily wounded non-blind super reptile but due to its sight, it has the advantage against the blind super reptile. The blind super reptile haphazardly tries to attack its non-blind kin in a desperate attempt to eat and release its rage for being unable to see. It was a pitiful sight for the two majestic tyrants.

Michael takes a heavy breath then he rushes back to the fray, to completely murder the two wounded super reptiles. He wasn’t going to let any of the two leave this area alive.

He felt the heavy influence of water on his legs as he ran back towards the two super reptiles. Despite their wounds, Michael knew that in the minuscule chance that one of them survives, it could survive and become another Deus Draco, or worse, another superspecies strain.

He had to make sure without a shadow of a doubt that the two super reptiles were going to die today.

The two super reptiles continued to thrash around the water, biting, clawing, and ripping each other apart. They were fueled with rage and anger. Whatever hunger they originally had is now gone.

Both acted like they were cornered and wounded animals with no other way to survive except than killing their aggressor.

Michael didn’t care. He would rather corner a wounded animal than let it become an evolved animal.

Running forward, Michael ducked down and picked up a rock. As he got closer, he studied the blind super reptile. The blind super reptile’s two eyes were both pierced with his spear and dagger. Michael needed to get both of them or else he didn’t have an easy way of harming the two monsters, despite their wounds.

The blind super reptile was bleeding in many orifices. Its body was bloody and shaking from the pain but despite its wounds, it roared in defiance toward the non-blind super reptile.

Despite being attacked first, the non-blind super reptile looked healthier and as of now, it was at an advantage. It angrily growled at its kin-turned-enemy.

Michael quickly approached the two creatures.

Despite focusing on each other, the two super reptiles noticed Michael. The blind monster experienced a small evolution in its fight in which its ability to smell and hear became exceptionally strong. The non-blind reptile gained more mental evolutions, allowing it to fight smarter despite being attacked first.

The two super reptiles were in a standoff. Both of them were heavily wounded and wanted to survive this encounter. Seeing Michael agitated the two super reptiles since it’s another factor they need to consider. Michael knew this.

If he moved, the two monsters would start the bloodshed again and this time, Michael would be included.

The 3 beasts observed each other.

Michael didn’t let the two beasts have a breather and he immediately charged forward.

Using the rock in his hand, Michael throws it toward the blind super reptile. The stone struck the creature’s nose. It roared in pain and Michael closed the gap between the two of them.

The non-blind super reptile hisses as its two enemies start to slaughter each other. It then charges forward to take advantage of the situation.

Michael ignores the non-blind super reptile and rushes toward the blind super reptile. He jumps upward and grabs the handle of his knife. Using the momentum and the knife handle as a lever, he swings himself on top of the blind super reptile.

The blind super reptile tries to get rid of Michael by thrashing around but the strong human had already grasped the spear with both of his hands. He then starts to pull the spear with all of his strength, causing blood and brain matter to splatter out of the blinded super reptile’s eyesocket.

It releases a pitiful roar as Michael fully pulls out his spear. Seeing the non-blind super reptile charge toward them, Michael raises his spear and then throws it with finesse despite being on top of the rampaging blind super reptile.

The spear hits the charging behemoth’s flank and pierces its skin. It roars in pain and its charge was suddenly stalled. It continued its charge but that was enough. The charging behemoth made a wrong step and it tripped on its own legs, falling to the ground in a painful crash.

Ignoring the other super reptile, Michael immediately grabs the stone knife from the blind behemoth’s eye. Instead of pulling it out, he wrenches it deeper into the blind super reptile’s skull. Michael hammers it down with his fist and the creature starts to release a death cry.

~THUD~

With each fist he brings down on the knife’s hilt, the blind super reptile releases a death cry.

~ROAR!!!!~

The roaring was pitiful.

~THUD!~

But Michael didn’t stop.

~ROAR!!!~

After all, it was it or him.

~THUD!!~

And Michael chose himself.

~ROAR!!~

In this world, it was kill or be killed.

~THUD!!!~

And Michael had no intention of being killed.

~ROAR!~

With that, Michael puts all of his strength into his next attack and slams the entire knife inside the super reptile’s skull, sinking the whole blade along with the shaft into the monster’s head.

~THUD!!!!~

When the knife enters the creature’s head, its body suddenly spasms then it stops as if its puppet strings were cut. Then it falls to the ground limply. Instead of a final death cry, Michael was surrounded by silence.

~...~

But Michael wasn’t done.

Turning his head towards the other super reptile, Michael sees it start to stand up. He jumps off the dead super reptile’s body then he forcefully pushes his hand inside the carcass’ large eyesocket. With one swift movement, Michael pulls out his knife.

The knife was slick with brain matter and blood but Michael didn’t care.

He had something he needed to do and the knife will make it easier.

The remaining super reptile roared in defiance. Michael stayed silent. There was no point in responding to it.

Then Michael saw it. The super reptile’s body started to undulate and pulsate. Its flesh started to rip itself.

Michael’s heart pounded in fear as the worst possible event started to occur.

Spontaneous Evolution.

A type of evolution that, Michael observed, only occurs when direct human interference was present.

Michael dashed forward, with murderous intent. He didn’t care if he threw away his defense. He was going to kill this thing before it could swing its tail.

But before Michael could approach the evolving super reptile, he heard a dreaded sound.

It was the Deus Draco.
