Nate was stunned for a moment. Such a powerful and rare magic was not to be trifled with. Was it an accident, or a calculated attack?' If only I had my old powers, I wouldn't even need to blink to cure it,' Nate thought.
As he struggled to wrap his mind around the situation, Kun's concerned voice broke through his thoughts. "Is everything alright?"
Nate pondered for a moment, whether or not to tell Kun. He decided to tell Kun the truth about the illness as he found no reason not to.
"The illness, it is not a normal one." Nate said facing Kun, "It is magic, curse magic."
Kun's expression turned from concerned to devastated. She knew very well what curse magic could do. Jamil had already fallen asleep again, as he had no energy left. Kun gathered herself and said, "Let's talk outside."
Nate just nodded and the pair left the room. After closing the door, Kun stood there, motionless. "Nate... are you sure it's curse magic?" she asked.
Nate noticed Kun's hands were shaking. "Yes," he answered. Kun fell down on her knees. "Y-you mean I can't save him anymore?" she said with a trembling voice.
"Yes..." Nate replied, unsure what to say or do as Kun began to cry. 'Sigh... what am I doing?' Although Kun was on her knees, since Nate had the height of a child, he just stood there and patted Kun's back, comforting her.
"You may not be able to save Jamil on your own, but you can still help," Nate said. Kun wiped away her tears and looked at Nate. "How? I'm just a normal healer. If it's curse magic, only the top holy mages can cure it, and we don't even have a holy mage here, let alone a top one. Even if we did, we couldn't afford it," she said, fresh tears streaming down her cheeks and chin.
"You won't need a top holy mage," Nate said confidently to give Kun hope, but inside, he was uncertain. "You have me. Someone better than any holy mages you would ever find."
"I don't understand," Kun said, looking at Nate in disbelief. "You're saying you can cure Jamil's condition?"
Nate nodded. "I believe I can. You are a good healer. I'll need your help and time to gather the necessary ingredients."
Although Kun did not know if Nate could really cure Jamil or if he just saying that to comfort her, she kept optimistic and decided to trust Nate. "Alright... I will talk with Robert." Kun said as she got up to go find Robert. In the meantime, Nate decided to go to the backyard.
The backyard was a beautiful place, with lush green grass and colorful flowers blooming here and there. In the center of the yard, white powder lines were marking out areas for training, and the grasses were worn away with burn marks.
'This must be where Robert trains the kids.' Nate thought.
Not so far from the field, there was a big tree providing enough shade for Nate to sit comfortably.
'System, How do I increase my mana.' asked Nate
[The user can increase the mana by using magic or completing quests.
Currently, the user only has one skill to use to increase mana and cure Jamil's curse magic quest with a mana stat reward.]
'I need complete the quest to get mana but I need mana to complete the quest... what is this bullshit!?' Nate cursed the system.
[The user can decrease the amount of mana required to cure Jamil by completing the analysis. Current analysis: 25%]
'Guess I will need to complete the analysis and use my skill. But the main problem is, I don't know how much time Jamil has left.'
Just as Nate was lost in thought, a little chubby yet tall boy came over to greet Nate. "Hey there, brother. You are the new kid, right? Nice to meet you! I am Ben, the oldest here." he said, putting out his hand for a handshake.

"I am Nate. Nice to meet you too." Although Nate wanted to stay by himself a little longer, he returned the handshake.
"Welcome to the family!" said Ben with a smile. Nate was confused for a moment before saying, "I am only staying here for a while. I am not a new family member." Nate replied somewhat coldly.
"It doesn't matter how long you stay here. Wanna see something fun?" Ben said with a smirk.
"Not really." Nate replied, 'Sigh... he thinks I am a kid. Why must I start off with a child's body?' he thought.
"Come on, brother! I promise it will be fun!" Ben said as he lowered his right arm to touch a stone nearby.
[Atwon energy radiating from the target: Ben]
Nate raised an eyebrow in surprise. 'So this kid has Atwon too? Maybe It will be worth checking it out.'
Slowly, scales like stones appeared on top of Ben's arm, becoming thicker as time passed.

Nate smirked, 'It will definitely be worth it.' He asked, "Sure, let's see how fun will it be."
"Haha! That's the spirit, brother!" Ben exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air. "Oi! Nelli, get over here!"
Nelli emerged from the house, hopping and skipping with excitement. She held up a bundle of strings and two small bottles. "Are we doing it?" she asked eagerly. "I've got everything I need!"
"Yeah and, brother Nate here said that he would like to watch," Ben answered with a proud smile.
"Yay!" Nelli cheered. "Hang on, let me go ahead and set everything up." She scampered outside the yard, making her way to a small tree nearby. She carefully poured the liquid from the small bottle onto the strings and sprinkled black powder from another bottle at the end of the strings.
Nate watched intently as Nelli sprinkled the black powder on the strings. He had never seen a substance like that before. "Is she setting up a trap?" he wondered to himself.
"All finished!" Nelli called out to Ben. "Come do your thing." Ben walked over to where Nelli was standing and poured the same liquid onto his arms. As he did so, the stone scales on his arms began to disappear and were replaced by the dripping liquid coming out of his palms.

'So, he can absorb liquids and material to his arms using Atwon. What a strange ability. Atwon can be used outside of just enhanced speed and strength I see. But How many kinds of abilities?' Nate thought.
"Wanna see a magic trick?" Nelli asked Nate as she picked up the strings and walked a few meters back. "Watch this tree disappear! Do it, Ben!"
Just as Nelli finished speaking, Ben raised his palms toward the small tree, shooting out the liquid. A breeze passed by them and the smell of the liquid finally hit Nate's nose.
'Oil!' he recognized the smell.
Suddenly, sparks of fire began to form at Nelli's hand, causing the strings she held to ignite. The flames quickly traveled down the strings, making their way to the end where the powder was sprinkled.
BOOM!
The small tree was instantly engulfed in an explosion, leaving no trace behind. The sparks from the explosion reached the oil that Ben had shot out of his arms, creating a massive fireball. Nate watched in disbelief at the destruction caused by the two kids, his jaw hanging open. The only thought that came to his mind was, 'These kids are insane!'
