39. Annexations
Spendius marched on the city of Bethyr, 25,000 cavalry scoured the countryside heading for the bastion of Balnan rule. 6000 tribesmen he had sent into the mountains paid dividends with 20,000 infantry descending from the mountain slopes carrying his banners. The blade and axe with the golden banner fluttered ominously over the hills and slopes.
“I will do the honours of breaking the defences open for us, you just wait,” Spendius said, “it will soon flutter our flags.”
“Of course lord,” one of his Hunur officers said, “we await your signal that the gates are opened.”
Oh they will. Spendius thought.
He sped along the green grassy knolls and accelerated up the city walls so fast that no one even noticed him. Spendius took out three confused guards before rapidly advancing into the gatehouse. Stone and metal, it was an advanced structure and any normal army would take months to penetrate the structure. The Church of Truth priests had relied on stacking large amounts of rock and stone to avoid besiegers, but the Church of Light defenders instead shot fireballs at the big armies approaching. Spendius had cranked the portcullis open, and ran down the gatehouse to knock out the wooden supports blocking the entrance of enemies. The guards dead, the God of Battle shouted in Spendius’s head.
“You are doing very well my evangel. You have the potential to conquer the world.”
Spendius merely smiled. His cavalry poured through, and Spendius took out the Church of Light priests who would fire at them. He sliced their jugulars and they were no longer a threat. The light infantrymen from the mountains came pouring down, and Spendius sped along to another gatehouse, his cavalry already pouring into the city and accepting surrenders from confused Balnan soldiers.
“Surrender now and your worthless lives will be spared!” Spendius said.
And the fall of the city happened, another gate was opened for the mountain tribesmen and Spendius sped along to the palace. He caught the puppet king personally, putting a manacle on him, as he looked terrified at the conqueror of his lands. Spendius looked at the figure with a degree of superiority.
“Please spare my brother,” a pale skinned dark curly haired woman said.
Not that much different in height from her short brother, with a rear that Spendius approved of and breasts he could ogle.
“I will,” he said, “would you like to rule the city of Bethyr, or do you simply wish to be part of the common rabble?”
His eyes betrayed his perverted intentions, the brother, the former king could only watch as Spendius put his hand on his sisters chest and walked to the royal chambers.

“Come on!” An Uruqian styled cavalrymen said kicking Selim’s shoulder, “time to go to your new home. Best not to think about it.”
Spendius would spend the afternoon bouncing the woman on his lap, cumming inside of her, hips cum rolling out of her hairy vulva, before he smacked her rear and got dressed.
“Stay as my governor in this place, my child in your belly,” Spendius said.
She sucked his dick extracting the residue cum out of his penis, he touched her head encouraging her to continue.
I will stay another day in this place. She is a nice lay.
Mercurius made love to his woman, holding her tight, ejaculating inside of her and enjoying a lovers embrace. Shaved both of them, both pressed their skin close to one another, breathing each other’s scent, enjoying each other’s presence.
“Forever,” she said.
“Forever,” he replied.
“It’s good that Symachus repelled the invasion of Smyra, Mendek can be beaten.”
“They can be, to think it was established by some rogue disciple of the God of Trade, the God of Trade shouts in my head about it from time to time.”
“He thought it was a more aggressive expander of our ways, instead he joins another God and becomes their terror,” Ethra said, “anyway enough politics, let’s go for another round.”
“Sure.”
Mercurius and Ethra, were like many in Yerek who knew the wealth of their realm, and so were comfortable having families. Yerek’s peaceful bounty produced many who were comfortable to have families, people expanding their progeny, food and water aplenty and money becoming something of an afterthought for many.
Clearchus had bought a prostitute, a blonde woman he brought on his campaigns. Now marching on the Hitaran city of Eda, he had conquered castle after castle, taking many slaves from men and women alike. The total coffers of Mendek must have been at least 100,000 gold coins despite purchasing mercenaries as a lot of gold was made selling people into slavery. The feudal structure of the countryside was maintained if not made worse, taxes were definitely not decreased, only terror keeping the peasantry in check. The grand capital of Eda entered the sights of Clearchus as he lay siege to it with typical Mendek vigour. Hitara’s king Hussein did not waste time attempting to fortify his capital, but Clearchus would show that the God of Battle was not be trifled with. He surmounted one wall and took out the gatekeepers, his troops following close behind. The garrison was five times the size, under any normal military doctrine Clearchus would wait until his forces were at least more in number before laying siege, but he now took the guards at the gate before his troops would burst into the city. He descended on the garrison commanders killing them, his mercenary troops following close behind. The sand stone city residents were stunned by the fast movements and the felled Hitaran soldiers. There was no siege practically, just a burst in through the gatehouse that led into the city, and a lot of soldiers being quickly defeated. Clearchus did not waste time, rushing through the streets to find the king, defeating the guards and killing the king and parading his head from the battlements of the royal palace. Despite massively outnumbering Clearchus’s men, he successfully subjugated a city of 150,000, guarded by 30,000, barely losing 500 in the process. Clearchus’s losses seemed to be mainly from arrow fire, the product of running through the open gatehouse. The flag of Mendek was raised high and Hitara seemed doomed as a kingdom. Clearchus sat on the veranda of the royal palace, ordering the palace servants around like a king. He had five maids he stripped and proceeded to have his way with in the royal chambers, unlike Spendius he did not have an appetite for royal women. The tyranny of Mendek seemed like it was only beginning, and another evangel was soon to be created by the God of Battle.
