Chapter 5

"Finally, something of a decent level, but it was already too late... rest well, Vordo!"

Stated Dary and the white room around them shattered, and they were back in the forest.

"What just happened?!"

Asked the girl who was just about to stand up from being blown away, however, a hand grabbed her shoulder from behind and pulled her away. Dary only looked at her when she was being pulled away and then instantly leaned back because a spear-like object was about to hit him, and it barely reached his hair. Dary used his sword to hush the weapon away and commented.

"Shalltear Bloodfallen, I am not interested in playing with you; stand down, or you will regret it later."

In front of Dary, a short girl stood in full red armour and with a spear-like sword. The girl only smiled and started repeatedly thrusting her weapon at Dary, who blocked the attack with ease.

"Stand. Down! I will not tell you again."

"Stand down? I'd rather die! You disrespected Lord Ainz; such an act deserves severe punishment!"

"Fine; suit yourself. I Warned you!"

Dary smiled and quickly spun his wooden sword, then proceeded to imitate Shalltear's style; however, he was getting gradually faster and faster, and his thrusts got sharper and sharper. At first, his opponent could evade but soon was forced to use her weapon to block the incoming thrusts and was gradually pushed back after each attack. Shalltear jumped back in hopes of gaining some distance; however, Dary dashed right after her and continued his barrage of thrusts, but this time his sword gained a reddish aura and was even faster than before. In fact, they were so fast that Shalltear couldn't block them, and she was drastically pushed back after each hit.

"DAMN YOU!"

Shouted Shalltear; however, much to her surprise, Dary stopped attacking. For a second, then dashed behind her, at a speed she couldn't even visualise. As Dary was dashing, he hit Shalltears ankles with great strength, completely destroying her armour around the area. Then Dary swiftly grabbed Shalltear's head and smashed it into the ground and, with a quick movement, grabbed her now injured ankles with both of his hands and spun her around, destroying a few trees in the process. Then threw her back where they started fighting.

"FUCK!"

Shouted Shaltear as she landed and rolled on the ground. She was about to stand up; however, suddenly, from above her, Dary's wooden sword penetrated her right arm and pinned her to the ground. She quickly reached up to grab the sword and pull it out; however, Dary jumped on it, further pushing it to the ground. Shalltear raised her head and looked into Dary's eyes which were glowing.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Give Momonga my regards, and tell him, no matter what, do not send anyone after me. I will not be this polite next time."

Declared Dary and then added with a smile.

"Adios"

Dary jumped up and completely vanished. Shalltear was unable to move and stayed on her knees with one of her hands pinned to the ground and just continued to stare at the sky. After about a minute, she finally shook her head and said.

"I will kill you next time! How dare you address Lord Ainz casually! I will warn Lord Ainz, and then you will see what comes to you, insect!"

"What happened here?"

Spoke up a deep voice behind Shalltear. Upon hearing that voice, she was shocked. She quickly pulled the blade from her hand and turned around but was unable to stand up as her ankles were broken.

"L-Lord A-Ainz! I am sorry I-I failed you... I let that insect escape!"

"I see."

Said the skeleton who was staring down at the injured girl with glowing red eyes. Then the skeleton turned his face to see the corpse next to the girl. Vordo layed there with widened eyes. His blade was cleanly cut into two along with his upper body; however, even in death, he kept his sword in his grip, and his hand was still slightly extended, just above his torso.

"So he killed Vordo... Damn it... if only I was faster."

Said Ainz as he looked at the battered armour of both shalltear and Vordo.

"Lord Ainz, it was our fault; we didn't expect him to be this strong... It is entirely our utter failure as floor guardians."

"Give me that wooden sword, Shalltear!"

"Right away!"

Ainz took the sword and examined it. On its cross, a small text was engraved. "From Momonga To: Daion". As Ainz noticed and read the text, a greenish glow appeared around him, which soon dissipated.

"It was really you... Dary, you cheated death and came back to see me, yet I was unable to stand before you, and I thought someone could imitate you... how full I was! DAMN IT! You haven't changed one bit! You were always very strict with Vordo; it seems even in your fight, you showed no mercy to him. As for Shalltear, although I am sure you wanted to kill her as well, you didn't kill her..."

Ainz stopped his line of thought for a second and put Dary's sword into his inventory; then, after a sight, he turned around and hit the nearest tree with his hand, significantly damaging it.

"I don't know how you managed to get so strong, Dary; I admire you. You were able to technically kill Vordo with a weapon meant for cosmetic uses and not for fighting! And seeing the destruction you left behind, I think with your power Nazarick in its current state might be able to defeat a World Enemy. I hope we see each other soon, and you will be able to forgive my incompetence as a leader!"

Thought Ainz to himself and turned back to look at Shalltear, who was still kneeling on the ground in front of him.

"Lord Ainz! We must eradicate this threat! I believe it might bring problems later if we leave him alive! Please allow me to take revenge. He greatly disrespected you!"

"No! Our current plans are more important... I will deal with him personaly later. You needn't worry about him from now on. And tell the other guardians that they should also avoid crossing him at all cost!"

"As you wish, Lord Ainz!"
