Chapter 4: Choosing a Main Class

Chapter 4: Choosing a Main Class

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing

Plato

A Title!

Did she just say a title?

I think she did, that young man over there has one.

Is he a noble?

The whole building went from stark silence to a bumbling group of bustling whispering Dungeoneerers all talking about David. Maggie was stunned silences, looking at David like he was another person, someone of a higher class compared to a commoner like her. She and Malcolm were very surprised and shocked at this revelation.

But just then, a squeaky sound could be heard, the door that lead to the second story room was opening.

First came the familiar young attendant, she was walking slowly with two hands clasp together respectfully, she descended the steps with her head bowed a little, but what came after was another person.

A fairy like person, exulting an air of supremacy, she looked like a young woman, but nothing could cover up the look of wisdom and age in her sparkling silver eyes, white long hair with two pointy ears, a short light green dress, she felt like she was gliding down the stairs with her barefoot barely touching the ground.

"Guild Leader!" The bunny-eared woman shouted out in respect, all though she came from a well-known city, any guild leader of any branch of Guilds, no matter how run-downed and poor the town or city is, were very strong people. So as second strongest in the room, she had to pay respect to the strongest.

David was gob smacked, an elven woman in the flesh, he saw two different people of another race, all so beautiful, he couldn't help but continue to stare, even though it is rude.

The Guild leader nodded to the bunny eared woman in respect, then turn to face David Lee as she walked closer, slowly. She held out her palms, smooth and silky, but he had blushed red realizing that she wanted to see his card, so he pulled it out and gave it to her.

"Hmmmmm... Ok, follow me, alone" She said while handing back the card to the young man, walking back to whence she came from. He followed along in pursuit, nervously pondering the situation that befell him. He had no idea what was installed for him, but it shouldn't be anything bad right?

Walking up the stairs and into the second story, he came across a room that was bright purple, the carpet the wall, the furniture, all in different shades of purple, warm and cozy, like a feeling of a home. His face went bright red as soon as he saw her queen-sized bed filled with fluffy stuffed animals, he guessed that she lives here.

"Ignore those things, come sit at my desk" She said walking to a tall dark purple chair, a seat fit for a Guild Leader made by master craftsmanship’s with high grade fur, wood and gems. David sat at the other side of the desk, the feeling felt like of one seeing a school principal.

"So, who are you and where did you come from" She said straightforwardly without beating around the bush.

"Uh, Da... David Lee and I came from a faraway land, I don't know the name of it though" He said nervously. She eyed him carefully, fully, inspecting the youth before her before saying.

"I will not have a noble dying under my watch, so, I will ensure your safety inside this town" She said unexpectedly, something that David would had never guessed off even if he had a million guesses.

"No...Noble?" He said with a very unsure tone.

"It's ok, although I haven’t heard of the Lee family, I can see that you are well cultured, your mannerism is different from common people, even if you don't realize it, let me guess further, you are a sheltered noble from a faraway land, who ran away from home?" She said confidently, to which he replied with a slight nod, well he couldn’t outright lie through his voice as it would give himself away.

"Well then, we can't have you being defenseless, so you'll have to choose a class, although it’s a little too late to start now, I guess I can set something up for you" She said in a lecturing tone.

"Uh, ok... um how do I choose one?" He said while biting his teeth from nervousness.

She rolled her eyes in disbelief before telling me that she will send her accountant to help. He walked out of the room slowly, seeing that all eyes were on him while he descended the steps like a pack of ravens. Some eyed him with greed, seeing him as an easy target for kidnapping for wealth, some looked at him with immense fear, and some with hatred.

David then start to walk back towards the group, Malcom came up to him and asked about how it went, to which David replied, that it was ok, and he was going to choose a class.

"I can't believe you haven’t chosen a class yet, what did your whole life? Eat cake?" He said mockingly to which landed the cold glare of Maggie, he shuddered before laughing wryly while scratching the back of his head.

David didn't mind, he was not actually a sheltered spoilt noble, but it would make a perfect persona and cover for him, so he did not refute the fact that he is one, by just merely nodding in consent.

The young attendant pulled him away, well he was glad to get out of that awkward almost silence situation. They were both walking behind the counter, towards a hidden room, there was a giant sparkling opal crystal like stone which was around three meters tall, it stood in the center of that room, tall, towering over everything else.

"You should know, just in case, not every class is available to people, some only get an option to choose from less than 5 classes... Well put your hands onto it, this is just a low levelled dungeon stone, not everything is available..." She said impatiently, while waiting for him to proceed.

He had a lot of questions, but he placed his hands on the cold hard stone, but what happened next made him raise a brow, a holographic interface appeared in his mind.

There weren’t many options, Dungeon Coins must be a currency used to buy things in the Dungeon Store, but those are only available at a higher level… so he clicked onto the class activation category, and a long list of class appeared. He couldn't help but feel giddy with joy.

Class Activation

Warrior

Ranger

Beserker

Archer

Mage

Knight

.......

.......

So many classes lay out in front of him, he didn't know that this was not normal. There were also a lot of random trashy classes like, clown, prostitute and models... seriously.

He scrolled down further the list. He was thinking of becoming an archer as he felt like his dexterity and perception were his strongest talent, due to his genius like talent in tennis and gaming back in his old life. He really did have talent, but it was a pity he didn’t train that talent to its peak.

David was about to choose Archer, but he thought that he’d at least look through all the classes, and he found at the end of the list was a light ocean like crystal blue colored class which was very weird.

.......

Thief

Rogue

Assassin

Monk

Martial Artist

Beast Tamer

Summoner

Sphere Summoner

He clicked open Sphere Summoner with curiosity.

Sphere Summoner

[Only Available for those with the Title: Ball Handler]

[Uses, Dexterity, Intelligence and Wisdom]

[Summon all types of Spheres for various uses]

Eh? What kind of class is this? Seems lame... He tried to exit out of the class details, but he didn't know how, suddenly there was a countdown timer, his eyes went wide in shock.

How come they didn't tell me about this!

10, 9, 8, 7, 6,

"Go back"

5

"Choose Archer!!!" He yelled fiercely.

4, 3, 2,

The Dungeon System Interface timer went down from 1 to 0, a buzzing sound was heard, a powerful force from the crystal shot out, shiny light-blue light descended from the crystal and into the dumbfounded boy. This process took a quick second before the light disappeared into his body, the crystal cooled down and went back to normal. He couldn’t help but bitterly sulk to himself as he found himself not being an archer. Though a holographic note had appeared before him.

[Note]

[Gained one new class and three skills]

He concentrated his mind to open his personal Dungeon Interface.

He sat there, slumped at what to do, he then decided that this class well didn’t look that bad. But he’d rather be an awesome archer sniping from afar, rather than a mage that can only fondle with balls.

The accountant recorded down his class in her crystal notebook, she had an odd look on her face when she saw his class. After finishing scribbling down in her notebook, she gave him a bronze key, and to his surprised, she showed him towards a room where he was free to stay at. It was a room at the edge of the building, decent enough for him to stay in for now, rather than on the ground of the barn with the sheep herd,

So, after looking at his new room, he found at that it wasn't for free, and that he had to wait tables for adventurers starting from tomorrow. After checking everything out once, he went back to his old group who were seemingly waiting for him.

"So, what did you get?" Asked Malcolm, the two other girls look at him in curiosity, but Maggie was less enthusiastic. David thinks it is probably because she thinks that he is a noble, and a noble had something to do with her parents. He really wants to clear up this misunderstanding later when they are alone.

"Sphere Summoner" David replied embarrassed

"Oh, Spear Summoner? That’s odd, but awesome; can you summon a spear now, a magical one? Do you have a spear fighting skill? Something cool like Poisonous Snake Strike, Hidden Dragon Claws, or 1000 Stabs of Doom!" Malcolm continued rambling excitedly.

"No, it’s Sphere Summoner..." David replied in correction.

"Yeah, I know, Spear Summoner" Said Malcolm in annoyance.
