Chapter 62: Setting Out Again

Three days later.

At the Craftsmen Division of the H City Survivor Base.

The team was visibly excited as they received their new weapons. Qin Luo glanced at his newly upgraded dual-blade sword. It had been modified exactly as he had hoped.

The blade was now longer, with a significant improvement in hardness and density. And most importantly—it was electrified!

Now, with just a casual slash, Qin Luo could release a massive current of electricity.

It was incredibly cool!

Additionally, the weapon now had a critical hit attribute, with a chance to deliver tenfold damage.

Bai Shu received a specially designed gun that could be used for both long-range and close-range combat. It looked sleek and impressive, but the highlight was the magazine—it had a built-in ten-cubic-meter storage space.

This allowed him to store a massive amount of ammunition, greatly reducing the time needed to reload during a fight.

Wang Weihu was handed a pair of gauntlets. They were much lighter than he had expected, but their power output was significantly enhanced. The gauntlets also provided excellent protection for his fists without feeling stuffy.

They were incredibly comfortable!

He clenched his fists to test them out, then threw a few punches to feel their weight. He was thoroughly satisfied!

The gauntlets were waterproof, fireproof, and resistant to tearing. Their durability ensured they could withstand the claws of ordinary mutated creatures without any issues.

Chen Xiaofei received a set of concealed weapons—wrist-mounted arrows with a design that leaned toward an ancient aesthetic. Like Bai Shu's gun, these also had a built-in ten-cubic-meter storage space, filled with various small blades. The blades would automatically return after hitting their target, and they were made of a special material that didn’t retain blood.

Just like their modified off-road vehicle, which repelled blood stains from its exterior, these small blades were similarly self-cleaning.

The fact that the blades were retrievable made them invincible!

Chen Xiaofei was over the moon with excitement. “This is amazing! Absolutely amazing! The craftsmen are truly incredible!!”

The Craftsmen Division was simply too impressive!

Xu Duoduo’s chainsaw, on the other hand, was nothing short of glamorous. Perhaps because they knew it was for a young girl, they had customized it in pink. The chainsaw was fully powered with unlimited energy, thanks to a newly discovered [Power Stone].

One stone could last for a century, and they even gave her two spare stones.

The chainsaw’s gears were genuinely terrifying. With dual rotary blades, it could slice through anything with ease. The phrase “cutting through iron like mud” seemed to have been made for this weapon.

The little zombie was absolutely thrilled. She couldn’t stop hugging the chainsaw, stroking it lovingly.

A smiling staff member at the service counter asked if they were satisfied. “You still have one chance to request adjustments. If there’s anything that doesn’t feel quite right, feel free to let us know.”

The four humans and one zombie quickly shook their heads. No way—they loved their new weapons too much to complain!

They eagerly performed the blood-binding ritual by letting a drop of their blood fall onto the grooves of their weapons, establishing a soul connection with them. A subtle sense of connection with their weapons immediately formed.

Not bad at all!

The staff member then pulled out ten combat suits. “These are our latest combat suits, designed to provide enhanced protection compared to regular clothing. They can withstand attacks from mutated creatures up to three stars.”

The suits could endure up to three strikes from a three-star creature, though anything beyond that would be too much.

Still, it was incredibly impressive!

Qin Luo quickly gestured for Wang Weihu to accept them. “Wow, you’re really too kind.”

While his words were polite, his heart was bursting with joy. Chen Xiaofei and the others felt the same.

And that wasn’t all.

The staff member also handed them five machine guns, another new product. They were asked to use them and provide feedback afterward.

Being part of a combat team had its perks, especially when the team had gained some renown. The base would prioritize providing them with the latest equipment.

Qin Luo accepted everything without hesitation.

Wang Weihu distributed the gear, and everyone stored their items in their personal storage space cards.

Xu Duoduo, however, didn’t need the combat suit. Her three Lolita-style dresses were slightly better in terms of protection.

After bidding farewell to the courteous staff, they headed to the Craftsmen Division’s changing room to put on their new combat suits. The suits were black and tailored to fit perfectly.

They accentuated their figures, making them look incredibly striking. When the four of them stepped out, even the little zombie was stunned!

Qin Luo, having just taken a diluted mutation core serum not long ago, now sported slightly longer hair styled into a wolf cut. He looked wild, rugged, and undeniably attractive, with a hint of roguish charm.

His usual expression was cold, but whenever he looked at Xu Duoduo, his gaze would instantly soften.

Ever since he had accidentally scared her before, Qin Luo had never given her a cold look again. From that moment on, he always greeted her with a warm smile.

Bai Shu, with his frameless glasses and clean-cut short hair, exuded a scholarly air. His build wasn’t as muscular, making him look more like the team’s strategist or administrator.

But his combat prowess was nothing to scoff at—one shot from him, and any small creature would be taken out instantly.

Chen Xiaofei, though the shortest at 1.8 meters, had a well-proportioned physique. His compact frame was solid, and his baby face always carried a cheerful smile.

His buzz cut added to his approachable demeanor.

Wang Weihu, on the other hand, was a towering, muscular hulk. He wasn’t fat—just pure muscle.

He was the epitome of a manly man.

With his massive chest muscles and rugged features, he had a tough, masculine charm. But when he smiled, he looked adorably goofy.

Xu Duoduo, dressed in a red Lolita-style dress with a matching lace headband, looked like a delicate doll.

Since her last transformation into her white-haired state, her silver hair had faded, leaving her with a soft gray tone. Her eyes now had a faint silver sheen, which was barely noticeable unless one looked closely.

She no longer needed to wear colored contact lenses.

She was stunning in her own way, and as she waited obediently for them to change, she looked even more endearing.

Qin Luo couldn’t help but steal glances at her, his gaze naturally following her every move.

Chen Xiaofei, on the other hand, openly showered her with compliments, calling her things like “the cutest little zombie in the world,” “unrivaled beauty,” and “so gorgeous it’s explosive.”

Wang Weihu and Bai Shu would chime in with a few words of agreement, while Qin Luo, blushing and awkward, remained silent. It was clear whose feelings were less than pure.

Meanwhile, the staff member from the service counter passed by with a colleague. Seeing the 3A team still there, they couldn’t help but marvel.

“Their looks are off the charts!”

The colleague exclaimed, “Oh my god, who are they? Which team is this? They’re all so handsome, and that dress is stunning!”

It was incredibly elegant and exquisite.

The staff member, feeling a bit proud, replied, “They’re from the 3A team. I’m the one who assisted them.”

The colleague was instantly envious. “Wow, that’s amazing! Did you see their zombie-mutant up close? How does she look?”

“Absolutely beautiful,” the staff member recalled. “Her features are incredibly delicate.”

Not quite human.

More like a perfectly crafted doll.

The two chatted excitedly for a while, frequently glancing back at the team.

By this time, Qin Luo had already called for everyone to move out. They boarded their vehicle and set off on their mission.

As the vehicle exited the base’s checkpoint, a familiar electronic voice greeted them:

**“Welcome to the first exit checkpoint of the H City Survivor Base. Beep. All clear. The H City Survivor Base wishes you a safe journey.”**

After passing through multiple security checks, they arrived at the manual inspection point.

The same young man from before took their card and greeted them with a smile. “Captain Qin, heading out on another mission? I heard this one’s a big deal—five combat teams are involved, and they’re all pretty sizable.”

Qin Luo smiled in response. “It’s nothing special. Every mission has its dangers—it’s all the same.”

The young man chuckled, returning the card. “Take care out there. On behalf of all the humans at the H City Survivor Base, I wish you a safe journey and a quick return home.”

Though they’d heard this phrase countless times, Qin Luo still smiled and thanked him. Then, stepping on the gas, he drove toward their next mission destination.
