“Where are we going?”
Chrys gave him a slight glare. “There’s a place where you go to get food near here. We’re going there.”
Micheal tried to covertly look around, just act normal. “Why? Is there something there that you need to show me?”
She shook her head. “No, I’m just hungry, at least I believe that is what you call this sensation.”
“Huh? But I thought that we were here so you could show me what to watch out for.”
A vehicle drove by, the first sign of life Micheal had seen since coming outdoors and something like a shadow seemed to cling to it. It’s substance like that of black tar that bubbled of its own accord.
“Don’t say anything about it, not until we get back to the house,” Chrys said though now Micheal was certain that he had just heard her in his head. It was gone before Micheal could get a good look at it. He did want to ask but right now was not the right time. Whatever it was, that would be considered something that he couldn’t remember ever seeing before. Just thinking about it filled him with disgust.
“We’re here!” Chrys said triumphantly pointing at a building to the left of them.
A sign at the top said “Praetor City Convenience Store.” Nothing too fancy, only one story and Micheal could see from the window that it was bare-bones stock as well. The door to the store creaked open slowly, the rollers for the door creaking as if in revolt about having to open. Chrys grabbed his hand and pulled him inside.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“Can you eat this?” Chrys asked Micheal as she showed him a Motza Lotza Pizza, Pepperoni.”
“Sure, that sounds good I think.” Being a rich boy who had most of his whims and needs to be fulfilled just by asking for it hadn’t prepared him for life like now.
“Is that all that we’re getting?”
She looked over at Micheal confused. “Do we need any more?”
His stomach grumbled, “Sure, unless there’s food at the house. I don’t know about you but I’m starving.”
“I don’t know how much I should eat?”
“How hungry are you?”
Chrys shrugged, “I am unsure, I just feel an uncomfortable ache in my stomach.”
“Have you ever been hungry before?
Chrys shook her head, “No I have not. It is unpleasant. How do you humans deal with this?”
“Eat before we get to that point, though how can you never have felt hungry before?”
“Usually I don’t need to eat.”
As they were looking at the food a young woman came up to the two. “Excuse me do you know where the bathroom is?”
Micheal turned and just about freaked out before he could notice anything about the girl personally, he was confronted by a haze black smog that nearly overwhelmed him. It exuded an aura of sex and Micheal could almost see a shape. Crys squeezed his hand and he immediately remembered to act normal.
“Sorry this is my first time here, my sister was hungry so I took her out to pick up some food.” Talking to her seemed to make the haze disperse a little, the woman was small, thin and pretty with a surprisingly large chest that seemed to not fit her otherwise overly petite figure. Her cheeks seemed flush and her face seemed a little sickly though it still made all kinds of indecent thought come to mind, thoughts that Micheal quickly ignored.
“Oh… I see.” She looked hard at Chrys as if trying to spot something off. She smiled looked back over at Micheal and the fog surrounding her seemed to thicken to an intoxicating level. Micheal could barely think as he was suddenly assailed by an irrational feeling. “Ii if you want I could help you find the bathroom,” Micheal said without thinking, his eyes looking down to her chest as if bidden there. A sound like a woman laughing filled his head and a musty sexy scent made him incapable of anything.
“Micheal we need to get home soon!” Chrys said out loud. Her hand suddenly felt like fire and all those feelings went away. What the fuck was that? Micheal thought to himself.
“Sorry Chrys, I guess I forgot.” Micheal said slightly drunkenly.”
“Micheal and Chrys?” The girl “I’m new to this area and live near here. I hope we get to see each other again. Btw I'm Karli,” The woman smiled wanly and left the two behind. As Micheal watched her leave he noticed that the thicker the fog around her got, the harder it seemed to be for her to walk. “What the hell was that?” Micheal whispered to himself.
