Chapter 7

After the whole fiasco, Gin continued to build Kaku a simple cabin, although Allan and Kaku offered to help, Gin refused and told the two to rest instead.

Allan also convinced Kaku to stop and rest, he even asked Kaku to go visit the local doctor.

“I know my body Al, I’ll be fine after resting, wait till I teach you all Six Styles, you’ll understand what I mean.”

Kaku smiled.

The Six Styles’s biggest benefit was boosting combat power, but it also has another derivative technique.

Life Return.

Although Kaku hasn’t mastered Life Return, his mastery over his own body was way beyond that of Allan and Gin.

Life Return was a technique that gave the user control over the whole body, from the tip of the toes to the ends of the user’s hair.

Although it wasn’t an omnipotent skill, the user's understanding of his or her body would probably be akin to a mobile scanner.

If Allan’s assumptions weren’t wrong, part of the reason for Vice Admiral Garp’s health not deteriorating at his advanced age was because of Life Return.

Of course, there were marines like Zephyr whose health had deteriorated, but that was mainly from his heart disease from losing his family to pirates he chose to not kill.

After Gin built Kaku’s cabin, the three separated, both Allan and Kaku entered their respective cabins to digest the gains they had in the fight and rest, meanwhile, Gin stayed outside to train since it was still a bit early.

Fighting truly is the best way to grow stronger, Allan thought.

His gains through the fight weren’t too obvious, but he felt like he touched a certain threshold for Observation Haki.

Allan suddenly had an afterthought.

He seemed to have changed, maybe it was this world that changed him.

But one thing he was vigilant about was the will inside his Devil Fruit ability.

Was he really just excited while fighting Kaku?

Or was the will inside the Devil Fruit at work?

This problem really does run counter to his plans, if he developed his Devil Fruit ability, the will inside the Devil Fruit might get stronger.

But if he doesn’t continue to develop his Devil Fruit ability, then his strength won’t rise as quickly as he wanted.

“This is really a dilemma.”

Allan couldn’t help but scratch his chin with squinted eyes.

“Ugh, sleep, I’ll think about it tomorrow.”

Allan decided while closing his eyes.

The night was peaceful, along with the rhythmic sound of insects and animals, a new and stronger bond was formed that same day.

“Good morning Al.”

Gin and Kaku were already up.

Allan couldn’t help but greet back with a wry smile, last night wasn’t the best sleep that Allan had experienced, although asleep, his body seemed active repairing his body and making it stronger.

Anyone who experienced sleeping with a sore body would understand.

But after waking up, Allan felt refreshed.

“It really is a good thing that Kaku joined Al, Kaku is a far better cook than me.”

Gin said with jest.

“Good, that’s good! Hahaha!”

Allan said with a laugh, Gin might not have noticed it, but he was changing.

Although Allan felt it before, it was a bit slow but Allan was willing to wait, but now, with Kaku’s appearance and yesterday's fiasco, Gin has become more open.

“That’s not true, I do admit I learn things quite quickly, ahem, but I’m really not that good of a chef, maybe, it’s because both of you just don’t know how to cook? Eh? Why are you two walking towards me? Wait! Wait!!”

“Beat him up!”

Allan shouted while Gin obliged.

The three laughed around for a bit before eating breakfast.

“Hey, this is really far better than Gin’s work. Until we find a better cook, Kaku will be the family chef!”

Allan said with bright eyes.

Gin nodded in agreement.

Of course, it’s much better, I was a street urchin in the past, when would I have time to learn cooking? Gin murmured in his heart.

“Then, you should treat the chef better, careful I don’t poison you.”

Kaku glared at the two while fixing his ruined hair.

Unlike Kaku’s short hair in the anime, Kaku still had his fluffy hair from when he was a child.

“Of course of course!”

Days passed by since Kaku joined in, and now both Gin and Allan had further stepped up their training, the workouts were still there, and even Kaku marveled at Allan’s training routine.

It wasn’t that Allan was brilliant, but the One Piece World was too simple when it came to working out.

Although Allan never built his body towards his dream body or rather failed to do so, due to reasons…

It was definitely not because he was lazy and never persevered enough, Allan nodded at the thought.

But his knowledge of body workouts was still rich enough to cover the whole body.

Kaku even commented that his strength gain would definitely increase following Allan’s regimen.

Of course, this was just Kaku’s excessive praise for him, even if he optimized the workouts, the increase in strength would still be negligible.

Even so, Allan wanted to follow his regimen, just to fulfill his past life’s dream body even if its function in this world was just for good looks.

Paired with his brown eyes and black hair, a good body would definitely raise his uhm…

Anyway, enough with his good looks.

Bringing his new family member with him, Allan roamed around the port whenever new merchants arrived.

He also sold the animals he’d hunted with Kaku and Gin.

A total of one month passed by from Kaku’s joining.

Allan suddenly raised a question to the group.

“When do you think we should leave Apple Island?”

Allan just wanted to hear their thoughts.

Especially Kaku who might know something Allan didn’t.

“Well, I don’t think it’s time yet, we should train and grow our strength first, although we’re strong compared to other children, we are still children after all, maybe, maybe after training at least three of the Six Styles.”

Kaku suggested.

“I agree, here we don’t have to worry since no one can see us train, but in other islands, it might not be easy to find a similar place.”

Gin added.

In Apple Island, their Jaeger Family although unknown, could still be considered the overlord of the entire island, if they change to another island with stronger opponents, then they’ll have to make concessions left and right.

“Then let’s do our best!.”

Allan said with a cheer.

It was still 1509, and the things he wanted to do were still three years at the earliest.

Learning Six Styles, Life Return, and Observation Haki should be his current priority, although Allan wasn’t arrogant enough to think he’d master all three in three years, he still wanted to push himself to do so.

For Armament Haki, Allan could only lay a foundation for learning it in the future, although he knew some martial arts like Eight Impact Fist of the Chinjao Family help in awakening Haki, it could even allow the practitioner mastery over an inferior Tremor Tremor Fruit.

But such martial arts need strict requirements like lineage or confidentiality, Allan didn’t know whether the Chinjao Family would allow him to learn their martial arts considering the fact that only Chinjao Family Members seem to have mastered the martial art.

So right now, he abandoned Armament Haki since he had no way to awaken it.

The best method he could think of was to fight another person with Armament Haki but those were also rare chances in East Blue, Ace also awakened naturally while fighting a Vice Admiral with Armament Haki.

If there was something Allan was reluctant about, it would probably be the fact that Apple Island was too isolated.

The news birds do deliver newspapers but Allan wanted information from at least the East Blue area.

It was moments like this that Allan missed the internet.

The newspaper only highlights international events and only a small amount of information about the local area can be found.

“Maybe I can find the island where Luffy and Rayleigh trained, the animals there might be the perfect target for awakening Armament Haki.”

Allan murmured.

But his current priorities were Six Styles and Observation Haki.

After another five months of training, the year finally ushered in a change, it was already 1510.

Throughout the five months, the three Jaeger Family members did non-stop training and sparring.

Although the sparring was controlled to some degree, it still helped the trio progress.

Allan who learned Shave and Storm Leg welcomed his first rise in power.

An instantaneous movement skill and a range and sharp attack filled the holes in Allan’s combat arsenal.

His mastery of his Devil Fruit powers also increased, but the increase was measured, Allan wanted to train his will first before he delved deeper into his Devil Fruit power development.

He didn’t want to suddenly acquire a second personality.

Training his physical skills was one of the ways Allan found, while another was through martial arts or swordsmanship.

Swordsmanship seems to be the easiest since Kaku knew basic swordsmanship, knowing Kaku’s four swords style in the anime, Kaku should have good talent when it came to swordsmanship.

But to Allan, swordsmanship was another field separate from his own specialty.

He wasn’t arrogant enough to use the mastery of swordsmanship as a kind of auxiliary skill, swordsmanship was no joke, he, Allan, knew that his road to power lay on his physical skills and Devil Fruit powers.

If he added in another swordsmanship.

Hey, even Zoro had taken so many years to master the Iron Cutting Realm and Breath Of All Things and started at an even younger age than the current Allan, Zoro’s talent doesn’t have to be mentioned, for the person who would eventually become the world’s strongest swordsman, Allan didn’t want to compare.

In fact, Allan did briefly touch swordsmanship with Kaku’s help but he didn’t feel anything special so he promptly gave up.

Which man did not like swords?

So focus, if there was something Allan wanted to do to train his will, then it would probably be martial arts, of the ones he knew of, only one was accessible.

Fishman Karate.

Koala and Robin were both able to learn, so he thought it shouldn’t be a problem for him to learn.

But now another problem exists.

Where should he learn Fishman Karate?

“Lack of information! Gah!”

Allan slumped on his bed frustrated, although he knew the plot, characters in the anime, and even some history, he was too ill-informed about the local news, where, and who.

After all, the plot only covered so many areas in the anime, even the remaining 6 routes of Grand Line were never mentioned.

From the outside, Allan could hear Gin and Kaku spar.

Kaku has grown stronger and his mastery of the Six Styles had also deepened, not to mention now he was holding a sword.

Gin also learned Shave and was in the process of learning Paper Drawing.

Through their discussions, Allan found out that Gin planned to incorporate both with his self-created Demon Man Tactics.

Allan even helped give it a name when it was done, Faceless Demon Tactics.

Gin rotated his iron ball tonfas before using Shave, with the force generated from the rotation of the iron ball tonfas added with the bonus in the momentum of Shave.

Forget receiving it with Iron Body, Kaku could only dodge.

Shave!

Kaku attacked with another Storm Leg but Gin disappeared again with Shave.

Two consecutive Shaves and Gin appeared beside Kaku.

This time, Kaku blocked with his sword.

Clang!

The two weapons collided, but Gin was using two tonfas, only, the two had already stopped.

“Now I really need to get a second sword.”

Kaku cheekily complained, It’s not that he couldn’t beat Gin, but they were both only sparring and training their skills, a lesson learned from Allan and Kaku’s fight, unless they both have substantial control over their whole combat skills and someone to heal them afterward, then the sparrings would have to be a gloved spar.

“Alright, I’ll help you buy one.”

Gin said with a smile, now Gin has long been infected by both Allan and Kaku, although he only smiled with family and still retained his serious demeanor when it came to other people.

Allan could still remember what Gin said when he asked.

“Someone needs to keep the family’s image.”

Gin told him then with a glare.

Allan really couldn’t blame him for thinking this, although he was the head of the family, he really couldn’t bear acting cold and tall, of course, if there really was a situation where he needed to, Allan wouldn’t refuse, but under normal circumstances, he wanted to act in the way he had always done so.

Kaku, who often acted in a mature way, was even more childish than Allan at times, but only with them.

As for Gin, the serious and smiling Gin were both the real Gin, Allan nodded in his head.

“Well, those merchants don’t really bring any good weapons, sigh.”

Kaku complained again, this was the biggest problem they had, even Gin’s iron ball tonfas weren’t well made.

Hearing Kaku’s complaints, Gin could only nod in agreement, meanwhile, Allan walked towards them with glowing eyes.
