Chapter 15

Allan who was happily playing around slumped down in bed.

Maybe it was because he played around too much or he awakened Conqueror’s Haki but Allan’s eye lids felt heavy

Allan fell into a deep slumber with a smile.

When Allan woke up the very next day, Kaku informed him that they were already near Shells Town.

After a few hours, Shells Town was in sight, unlike in the anime, Shells Town looked more intimidating, built like a bastion, there shouldn’t be pirates brave enough to dock in Shells Town.

Of course, most pirates would hide their jolly roger when they needed to come to islands with marine bases.

Since Allan and his crew weren’t pirates, as long as no one with him had a bounty, the marines would not bother travelers like Allan, after docking their boat, Allan asked Fossa and the others to deal with supplies and stay in the boat while Allan and Kaku walked in town.

As for what Allan’s purpose was, it was to find a pink-haired guy in Shells Town, although he didn’t really know if Koby was really from Shells Town, as long as he was found, if the situation allows, Allan wanted to take Koby in, like if Koby was an orphan, otherwise, he could only wait for Koby to grow before recruiting him, after all, Koby was only 4 this year.

Which parent would give away their child to a total stranger?

“Let’s go ask if there is an orphanage.”

Allan said to Kaku.

Allan also remembered Helmeppo who was already 8 years old.

But his father was Morgan and Morgan should already be in the Marines now, although it was only after Morgan received the merit of catching Kuro that he skyrocketed in rank, Morgan now should still be a good person unlike who he was in the future.

So taking Helmeppo away was out of the question, especially if Allan had to convince Morgan, after all, Allan still hasn’t established himself, and even then, Morgan would probably still refuse.

After asking around, Allan really found an orphanage.

A huge run down building appeared in front of Allan and Kaku.

“This is the orphanage?”

Kaku asked Allan with doubt.

“It seems so.”

Allan replied with a frown but they still went in in the end.

Inside, the building looked better, three people, one woman, and two men looked at Allan and Kaku strangely.

Allan looked like a teenager while Kaku looked like a kid, it was definitely weird for them to come in an orphanage.

After a brief talk, the orphanage staff smiled happily.

The staff of the orphanage treated them a bit coldly at first, but after knowing they wanted to find a kid with pink hair, the staff smiled with glee and told them to wait.

Three pink-haired kids were ushered in and the kid with the scrawniest figure stood out immediately.

“What’s their names?”

Allan asked.

“Come on, introduce yourselves.”

The staff said with a smile but when the children saw it, they visibly got scared.

“Hi, my name is Ashly.”

“Hello, I’m Donny.”

“I’m Ko,Koby.”

The three introduced themselves.

Ashly laughed when Koby stuttered but Donny looked reluctant, it was apparent what Koby’s status was in the orphanage.

Maybe the reason why Koby grew up scrawny and lacking in self-confidence was because of the constant bullying from a young age.

Allan could definitely see it.

With how the staff looked, a lot of these children will definitely grow up crooked but Koby still grew up into a good person.

Kaku finished speaking with the other staff.

“10,000 berries for a kid below 5, 20,000 berries for those above 5.”

Kaku whispered to Allan.

Although Allan was angry, he didn’t have a place to vent, although the staff they met didn’t look like good people.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

From what Allan heard asking people in town, the other personnel were at least decent people, and were mostly volunteers.

But the era was dubbed the era of pirates, so most orphanages were either full or overpopulated.

These kids weren’t even targeted by slavers because they were too young, they’d have to be raised which would be more expensive so orphanages in most islands were filled to the brim, and whenever the staff found people like Allan and Kaku, without even knowing what their purpose were, they would gladly sell the kids.

Sighing at his helplessness, Allan could only beckon for Koby to come.

The staff pushed Koby forward lightly without hesitation.

“Koby right? Do you have any friends in this orphanage?”

Allan asked gently.

Koby looked at Allan before nodding.

“I plan to bring you with me, so if you want, we can bring your friends with us, or you can bring anyone you like okay? I promise you lots of food and you can play however you want.”

Allan said with a gentle smile.

It was a genuine promise, even if there was a part of it wanting to make Koby have a good impression of him, he was also sincere with his offer.

Kaku who heard Allan also smiled.

Koby’s eyes looked like he was about to cry but held it off, looking at his scrawny body, it was obvious Koby didn’t have enough to eat so the promise of food was more than effective.

“Alright then, Kaku, you talk with them, I’ll take a walk with little Koby.”

Allan said picking Koby up.

Ashly and Donny looked teary-eyed but Allan ignored them, as long as Koby spoke for any of them then Allan would bring them away.

Koby suddenly tugged at Allan’s shirt before pointing at Ashly and Donny.

Allan couldn’t help but sigh, Koby was as kind-hearted as he was when he was in the anime.

Now Allan started to sweat, worried if Koby would pick everyone in the orphanage.

Although he had no problem taking care of many people in the future, that was for the future.

But his worries were unwarranted, after picking Ashly and Donny, Koby only picked ten others whom he had good impressions of.

After all, Koby was only 4 years old not the hero in the future.

Ten children ranging from 7 to 10 years old, plus Donny and Ashly who were both 8, add in Koby, and a total of 13 children were brought away by Allan.

The staff happily counted the money with the others, 13 children, with only Koby below 5 years old meant that Allan paid a total of 250,000 berries.

When Allan left, he was already carrying one pink-haired Koby on the right, a 7-year-old light purple-haired girl with blue eyes on the left, and a light blue coated Wavy on his head.

“What’s with your hair Brother Allan?”

Koby asked curiously, he’d seen it earlier but was too shy and timid to ask, but now that they were out of the orphanage, Koby finally raised the courage to ask.

“Oh him?”

Allan answered while lowering his head and with a whisper he said.

“His name is Wavy, a ship spirit, but right now only I can see him.”

Koby didn’t understand what a ship spirit was but it didn’t stop him from being amazed, the girl also giggled at Koby’s amazed look but she also stared at Allan’s hair for a while.

“Yeah, apparently it’s his favorite spot.”

Allan said with a sigh.

The other children followed behind a bit envious of the two kids in Allan’s arms, Kaku was curious why Allan held the two children with importance, but when Allan whispered that the two were their future family, Kaku immediately accepted, he trusted Allan’s eyes.

As for who the other kid was.

Allan looked at the little girl in his arms, her light purple hair and blue eyes didn’t make him too surprised, he only thought that the little girl would definitely grow into a pretty lady, but when he found out that she was named Carina, Allan was happy, not because Carina would grow into a seductive lady in the future, but because Carina had potential.

Carina was Nami’s main competitor and was named by the latter as Hell Cat, just from being Nami’s competitor, Carina should be an excellent navigator and thief, she was also an excellent singer.

Carina herself had the guts to steal the whole Gran Tesoro and succeeded in doing so with the help of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Although Allan did not value Carina as a combatant, as long as she was willing to train, he felt like Carina should have good potential, Gin himself was a thief at the beginning, with good physique and excellent reflexes.

Nami was a prime example of what a thief’s physique could do without combat training, it’s not very obvious because Nami would rather run than fight, but Nami has an extremely quick reflexes, speed, and endurance.

If he found her a good devil fruit, with her own wit and Allan’s guidance, depending on what she wanted to focus on, she would definitely excel whether it be combat, reconnaissance, support, or even if she wanted to do management and planning.

Either way, she was just a 7-year-old girl with Koby who was 4 years old, the Jaeger Family’s future was already bright with just these two.

“Can we really eat and play?”

Koby suddenly asked.

“Of course you can, but we have to wait a while, you can eat and play in the boat, just be careful and listen to us okay? The sea isn’t very calm so once we tell you to go inside where it’s safe you have to listen immediately okay?”

Allan explained in the gentlest way he could.

“Okay!”x2

Koby and Carina answered cheerfully.

“How about you all?”

Allan turned around and asked with a smile.

“Okay!”

Some spoke, some nodded, and overall, they heard what Allan asked.

Unlike Koby and Carina who were carried by Allan, the other kids still didn’t know their situation and were quite timid and guarded.

As for Helmeppo, although Allan wanted to try, he held off because it would be stupid and greedy.

Allan has also checked the current wanted posters, the most popular being Red Foot Zeff who was still in East Blue and according to what Allan knew, two years from now, Zeff would go to the Grand Line with his Cook Pirates and return one year after.

Zeff’s current bounty was 20 million berries which was the pinnacle of East Blue.

It should take one more year before Sanji escapes from the Vinsmoke Family, and 2 more years before he and Red Foot Zeff meet each other on a cruise ship before meeting disaster.

In the anime, Zeff didn’t seem too impressive, but that guy returned not from Paradise, but from the New World!

Zeff called the first half of the Grand Line, Paradise, a name only those who experienced the craziness or hellishness of the New World used.

And for him to return after one year meant that he stayed in the New World for a while.

So even if Zeff does not teach him about Armament Haki, Zeff’s Black Leg Style was worthy of learning, especially for him who specializes in kicking techniques.

But right now Zeff was still at his peak as old as he was, so it would not be easy for Allan to ask Zeff to teach him, and with Zeff’s strength, the current Allan was still no match.

As good natured as Zeff was, Allan didn’t forget that he was a pirate, unless Allan showed a good enough talent for cooking, it would not be easy to ask Zeff for his martial arts.

Next was Krieg who was currently famous as Foul Play Krieg.

As for Pirate Fleet Admiral Krieg, Krieg who has been famous for two years was far from his peak and only had a 10 million berries bounty.

Allan who saw Krieg’s wanted poster was quite surprised.

Compared to Krieg who had short hair, the long-haired Krieg looked like a menacing beast, and with Krieg’s supernatural strength, if someone guided him with martial arts and Haki, maybe add in a devil fruit, Krieg might just become a notable existence even in the Grand Line.
