Beatrice stood in the castle kitchen, her gaze fixed on the ingredients laid out before her. Cookies, pancakes, and berry ice cream—ordinary food, but she felt a pang of dissatisfaction. Too boring. With a grin, she decided to add her own unique twist.
Focusing for a moment, she let the faintest, most negligible fraction of her power flow into her work—so small it was practically nonexistent: -0.000000000000000%. The results were anything but negligible.
The cookies baked into swirling black holes, each one devouring stray crumbs around it. The pancakes shimmered with layers of alternate realities, faintly glowing as universes blinked into existence on their surfaces. The ice cream radiated the light of countless galaxies, the berry toppings orbiting like tiny planets.
Satisfied with her creations, Beatrice carried the celestial feast into the dining hall.
Rookie, Frosty, and Skully froze as she placed the dishes before them. The food seemed alive, pulsating with unfathomable energy.
“Uh...” Rookie stammered, staring at the Multiverse Pancakes. “What... what is this?”
“These are my special desserts!” Beatrice announced proudly, clapping her hands together. “A little something extra for my lovely guests.”
Frosty leaned back in his chair, his icy face pale. “This is... food?”
Skully adjusted his red suit nervously, inspecting a Black Hole Cookie that threatened to suck his finger into its center. “Even Arcana can’t harness power like this. They use Micro Astros as resources, not... not snacks!”
Beatrice grinned. “That’s because they’re not me. Now, go on—try it!”
The trio exchanged uneasy glances. Rookie, as usual, was the first to cave under Beatrice’s expectant gaze. He picked up a fork, hesitated for a moment, and took a small bite of the Multiverse Pancakes.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
For a second, nothing happened. Then, Rookie’s entire body glowed with raw energy, his doughy form expanding slightly before returning to normal.
“I... I feel amazing!” Rookie exclaimed, trembling. “It’s like I could punch through a mountain!”
Frosty and Skully hesitated, but after seeing Rookie’s reaction, they followed suit. Frosty took a bite of the Black Hole Cookie, and Skully dared a spoonful of the Galaxy Ice Cream.
The results were immediate—and overwhelming. Frosty’s icy aura exploded outward, freezing the walls of the dining hall. Skully’s skeletal form began radiating dark energy, the light in his eye sockets blazing like tiny suns.
“W-what’s happening to us?!” Skully shouted, clutching the table.
“Relax,” Beatrice said nonchalantly, waving her hand. Her magic stabilized them instantly, the chaotic surges of power fading into manageable streams.
She leaned back, folding her arms. “Congratulations! You’re now super-charged. But don’t get too excited—you don’t know how to control it yet.”
“Control it?” Frosty asked, still stunned.
“Of course! Tomorrow, we start training,” Beatrice said with a wink. “You’ll learn to handle your new abilities, but it won’t be easy. It’ll take time and effort.”
The trio groaned softly, glancing at each other with uncertain expressions.
“She’s a princess,” Frosty muttered to Skully. “How does someone like her know anything about training?”
Skully shrugged. “At this point, I wouldn’t underestimate her.”
After finishing the rest of the Astral Desserts, Beatrice escorted her guests to their rooms. She gestured to each door with a flourish.
“Here you are! Get a good night’s sleep—you’ll need it for tomorrow.”
As they entered their respective rooms, Beatrice hummed a cheery tune and headed to her own chamber. She slipped into her plush princess bed, sighing contentedly before drifting into a peaceful sleep.
Frosty flopped onto his bed, staring at the ceiling. “This has been the craziest day of my life,” he muttered, rubbing his frosted forehead.
Skully, in his own room, deactivated the blood rain spell with a wave of his bony hand. “No point keeping it up now. Those Arcana soldiers lost our trail hours ago,” he murmured, before collapsing onto his bed.
Rookie lay on his bed, arms crossed behind his head, replaying the day’s events in his mind. “Beatrice is something else,” he thought, shaking his cookie head. “This might just be the beginning of something even crazier.”
One by one, they drifted off to sleep, each contemplating the strange, powerful princess who had turned their world upside down in a single day.
