I hesitate only a few seconds before mentally accepting, causing my full Class Sheet to fill my vision.

So if I got everything right, [Death] should give me four Vitality, three Mana Capacity, one Dexterity and two Magic Power while Marksman only gives me three Dexterity and two Vitality.
"Curious," he states and starts writing down my entire Class sheet into the ledger.
I don’t know how I should feel about having my Class Sheet in a random book but anything that helps me take down Idanu is worth a try.
Kara leans forward and sees [Death] listed as my primary class. She rubs her eyes before turning to me. "Sorry."
"It's fine," I say, waving her off, "I've never heard of someone else with a similar class."
Siegfried stops writing, having just finished noting my title, "I've heard of five other classes like it."
Kara and I look at him expectantly but he just starts writing down the rest.
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
"Aren't you going to tell us?" Kara asks.
He sighs before forcefully dotting an i. "I assume it would be fair, your Class sheet is quite impressive."
He pulls out a second, smaller notebook and with a quick wave of his hand, I can see my entire Class sheet being copied. He flips through it and lists them off one after another "[Death], [Life], [Nature], [Law], [Fire], [Lust]. Each has Skills completely dedicated to spreading or preserving their name."
So my primary class, which is often compared to the Goal or reason for someone's life according to the System, is spreading Death.
That's not terrifying at all!
“So what do you know about Idanus Skills?”
“Surprisingly little,” he confirms my worst expectations, but noticing me deflate, he quickly continues, “People die around it without any obvious input, their weapons misfire, bullets hit the wrong target or they slip and die, I’ve heard of it all. It barely notices people, only yelling at those that stand in the way to its target, Donald.”
Siegfried continues to write down notes, muttering incomprehensibly.
So he somehow sabotages everyone around him without trying, like a living Unlucky charm.
If I could figure out his range, I might be able to take him out from a distance.
“Can you tell me where the other people with these Classes are?” I ask, putting the second gem on the table.
He claps the notebook shut and lets it disappear into one of his pockets. “No, I will not tell you the location of five specific people without their permission.”
He’s got a point but it was worth a try to figure out what my Class means. But if Class growth relies on doing something to spread or preserve the namesake, I should be one of the highest-level people of the bunch.
I don’t think anyone is going to spread hundreds of fires just for a few levels but [Lust] might be higher level than me if they’re a prostitute in a huge city.
Kara looks between us before pulling a Mango out of her [Pantry]. “Anyone want a piece?”
She starts cutting it up and Siegfried and I both accept a piece.
It’s sweet, sweeter than anything else I’ve eaten, but still really good.
“Where did you get this?” I ask, not remembering where or when she picked it up.
“Ohh,” she says with a cheeky grin, grabbing another slice of fruit, “I swiped it from the vendor that insulted me.”
“Do you need anything else?” Siegfried asks, picking up the ledger, “I have important research to continue.”
I suppose clearing the bounty is kind of worthless, isn’t it?
He isn’t actively threatening anyone and the Sheriff died either way.
“Nope,” I say, standing up, “I’ll make you the four other gems and we’ll head off.”
I walk over and drop into the plush chair. “Just be aware that there is a Bounty on your head.”
He looks over to me, now lounging on his comfy chair, and raises an eyebrow. “Okay, you aren’t taking this very seriously are you?”
Why would I?
Everything I’ve done so far was just to run away and survive, now I know something about Idanu, something that I can exploit, and that is worth a lot more than 150 coins. I can’t just think of myself anymore, Kara kind of relies on me to survive right now even if I assume she does not need to.
Would I keep being a Bounty hunter if I kill Idanu?
“Hey,” Kara calls out, leaning on the armrest, “you still alive?”
I roll my eyes and throw her arm off the chair. "I'm fine."
It doesn't take long for me to finish the rest of the gems.
Kara and I almost get thrown out of the tower, leaving us to start our journey to the Swamp. We might have failed the bounty but it was not a waste of time, learning that there are others with a class similar to mine leaves me with a new goal.
