Chapter 00: Christmas Event

[Cynthia]: “Come on big brother hurry up, we will miss fireworks”

[Cyan]: “I’m coming I’m coming, geez why you are in such a hurry, we still got enough time”

[Cynthia]: “But if we don’t hurry all the good places would be taken out by somebody else, come on hurry up”

[Cyan]: “Alright calm down and stop pulling out my harm, I already told you my guild has a good place reserve since a month ago and I can bring a non-guild member with me, you don’t have to worry little sis, nobody will be taking your spot”

[Cynthia]: “Really?”

[Cyan]: “Yes really”

[Cynthia]: “Big brother you are the best!”

[Cyan]: “Yes I know, I know, I am the best, for now go and get ready, I need to let know Mon where we are going first”

[Cynthia]: “Yes big brother! Wait! Can I bring Sir Turtle with us?”

Cyan cold only smile bitterly as he regret the day he allowed his sister to name his pet turtle, even worse Sir Turtle was a female, nevertheless…

[Cyan]: “I’m sorry little sis, there are no capsules for turtles just yet”

[Cynthia]: “But Sir Turtle is my friend I want him to come”

[Cyan]: “I am sorry little sis but they don’t let animals inside the capsules”

[Cynthia]: “Sir Turtle is not an animal, he is my best friend!”

Cynthia spring off of Cyan room mad like lighting, on the other hand Cyan could not help but to think that his sister has accepted not bringing Sir Turtle, she was too hardheaded sometimes and too energetic to give up so easily, nevertheless he could sigh.

[Cyan]: “I am ended as the villain now”

Putting his pen down Cyan could only give up trying to come out with a good history for his hobby book, for now, he could only get up and take her sister to the event.

After exiting his room, Cyan went down stairs to the living room, where his mother was doing some shores.

[Cyan]: “Hey Mon, I will bringing Cynthia with me today to watch the fireworks”

Turning Cyan Mon had a face filled with uncertainty.

[Mon]: “Son, I know we already talk about this but, she is only eleven, would she really be safe inside a capsule at so young age? And what if it didn’t work or malfunctions”

[Cyan]: “Don’t worry so much Mon, the minimum age for using a capsule is ten, and I already promised I will take her since last year, and besides there has not being a single case of someone getting hurt in Oban, it is just a virtual game after all, but if it makes you feel any better I will register her as non-player account, so nothing bad will be happening to her”

A non-player account were as the name suggest, are players that can’t die or even get hurt, and no monster would attack them, those kind of accounts were meant for people who just wanted to travel around the virtual world of Oban without being disturbed or didn’t have the disposition for fighting against monster or even other people.

Cyan Mon has also used one of those accounts in the past, so she knew how safe it was, and how joyful the world of Oban was, nevertheless, she could help but to had an uneasy feeling for her precious daughter.

Noticing that his mother still hold some doubts Cyan tried to push it forward.

[Cyan]: “You are being too overprotective of Cynthia, her only friend is Sir Turtle, it is time for her to go out more, may be in Oban she could make a friend, kid of her age should have friends Mon”

[Mon]: “I know, it is just that… sigh… Ok Son I trusting you, but please take good care of your sister and be nice to her, and try to be back before 10pm, you know she is…. very special to me”

His mother could only give up, she had already stop Cynthia for going to the last year fireworks show in Oban saying, “it is still too early for you to go, maybe next year”. She could still try to stop Cynthia for going this year too, but she couldn’t stop Cynthia forever, and Cyan was also right, her daughter needs to make friends at this crucial young age but she always…

[Cyan]: “Don’t worry I will take good care of her, and also remember what the doctor said, maybe entering Oban could be of a lot of help for her case”

Cyan always thought it was a little saddening how his mother was so overprotective of Cynthia this day, but he could guess why, the day Cynthia was born it was also the same she almost lost her, and on top of that since young age Cynthia has…

Just as Cyan was getting lost in his own thoughts Cynthia has come running, pulling Cyan back to reality.

[Cynthia] “Big brother I am ready, let’s go”

[Cyan]: “What we have here, this is not my little sister, but an angel”

The smiling Cynthia could only feel very embarrassing to be called an angel by his dumb big brother, but either way Cyan knew his little sister like to be praised like any kid.

[Cyan]: “Alright, before we go, what are the rules I told you before you must always follow”

[Cynthia]: “Never take candy or talk with strangers”

[Cyan]: “And”

[Cynthia]: “Never leave big brother side”

[Cyan]: “And”

[Cynthia]: “uhmm…..”

[Cyan]: “If we got separated you must first try to contact me, stay put where ever you are, and wait for me.”

Cynthia gave a strong nod as signal that she understood

[Cynthia]: “I understand big brother, now let’s go.”

Just as Cynthia was walking to the door, Cyan stop her.

[Cyan]: “Wait just a moment, what did you I tell you about bringing Sir Turtle with us today.”

[Cynthia]: “… that I can’t.”

[Cyan]: “And?”

[Cynthia]: “….”

[Cyan]: “Take it out.”

[Cynthia]: “Sigh…, I am sorry Sir Turtle, but I can’t bring you with me today”

Cyan took Sir Turtle and passed it onto his mother

[Cyan]:”Alright we can go now, say goodbye to Mon before we go”

[Cynthia]: “Mon I am going now”

Cynthia wave her hand to her mother while trying to drag Cyan away, afraid that her Mother would had a change of mind if she stayed too long.

[Mon]: “Try to not bother your brother to much, and be a good sister Cynthia”

[Cynthia]: “I know Mon, I will be good”

[Mon]: “Have fun you two”

[Cyan]: “Don’t worry Mon, we will be alright”

And just like that, Cyan and Cynthia exited their house one day of Christmas.
