This next story begins in the morning, of an August morning. Mat Smith has always been a slob, he doesn't live with a wife or children, he lives all alone in a two story five bedroom two bathroom house, that he inherited from his parents.
Mat Smith wakes up, like I said on an August morning. He opens his eyes to find that his bedroom looks completely clean, his sliding closet door mirror has been completely washed down his clothes have all been hung up on hangers. This baffles him, he gets up and heads for his closet to get dressed when he looks over at his computer table to find that he already has clothes laying out for him. He gets dressed not sure whats going on and leaves his bedroom, only to find the rest of his house to be as spotless as his bedroom.
He heads for his kitchen to find a box of cereal and two bowls, one with nothing in it; and the second one with drops of milk in it. Mat finds this even more puzzling he rinses the drops of milk and lays it in his sink. He takes out his milk which he finishes it off. He doesn't have time too ponder this for he is running late for his new job at a nearby factory. Mat works ground floor employee for the factory from eight am until six pm. He gets off about five-fifty and buys more milk.
“Surprise,” Angelica and the other guests shout as he opens his front door, for today is his birthday. Everybody all four families two hundred citizens, from new born to elderly have shown up.
“You guys didn't have too do this for me,” Mat says blushing as he puts his milk away.
“We see that you've cleaned your house finally” Amelia laughs as she hands him his present.

The party goes on until one in the morning when every one goes home. Mat leaves his house a mess and says to himself that he'll clean it tomorrow. He gets up the next morning expecting his house to be a pig sty, but instead he finds that all the trash, paper; plates, cups and other trash all picked up and bagged up. This baffles him but figures some of the town folks came back and cleaned the house last night.
He heads for the kitchen to find all his dishes had been scrubbed clean, and he finds a box of cereal and two bowls again. One of the bowls have drops of milk left in it. Mat is baffled but he doesn't know what to do so he cleans the bowl and takes out the milk but he notices that there is milk missing from it. He then gets an idea, he'll stay up late and spy on the person or people that are coming in to his house.
So that night he stays up, pretending to sleep on his family room couch, he is about to fall
asleep when he sees two elderly looking midgets with old worn coats and brown pointy hats. They pull out their brooms and dusters from their coats and start sweeping and dusting the room, they move at such fast pace that Mat can hardly keep up with their movement. They move up the stairs and Mat can hear them sweeping and dusting as they talk in an unknown language. These creatures then head for the kitchen and open the fridge door and the cupboard doors, then there is silence then they head for the front door and leave the house. Mat gets up and runs for the kitchen to find two bowls, one empty, one with drops of milk, that these creatures shared between each other. There is also a box of cereal waiting for him. Mat runs from his home and to the witch doctor the next morning when she opens her wiccan shop. Mat describes what he went through.
“Those are called Brownies they come and go as they please, they will clean your house for inexchange for milk or cream,” the witch doctor in forms him.
Not all faes are evil or tricksters, some, like the Brownies are here to give a helping hand.
