Your level has increased to thirty five!
You have acquired forty percent experience; sixty percent required to level up.
You can distribute one hundred attribute points as you like.
All attributes have increased by twenty for clearing a hidden mission and clearing one optional objective.
You have been awarded with one minor skill point.
You have been awarded with one minor skill point for clearing a hidden mission.
Oh shit! Holy shit ye! You seeing this Leysa?
“A look of shock and bewilderment is on the young wilder beast of a woman. It would appear that the pair have gained quite the reward. Many hidden encounters are spread all across the world.”
“Oh? Right, of course. Of course. Hmm. The difficulty seems to be balanced as well. At least this one was.
Leysa? Earth to Leysa. Come in. chzzz.”
‘Ah. Sorry. Wait a second I have to mark this location on the map, this can be considered priceless information.’
“Oh?”
‘There are people out there that would do worse things than kill to get their hands on something like this.’
“Eh? But it’s only a minor skill point right?”
‘The higher you level, the less attributes are worth and abilities start out weighing attributes in a major way. Especially ones that give you a passive boosts like percentages.’
“I guess that makes sense, you seem to always get the same amount of attribute points per level. Do people max out abilities?”
‘I´ve never heard of anyone reaching any sort of cap when it comes abilities. It does get similarly slow to improve skills the later stages. But the benefits of an improved ability will greatly outweigh a single level, even tens of levels.’
“Right. Sure. This is your third minor ability point then?”
‘Fourth. You get an additional point at level thousand and one at level two thousand.’
“I see. So. What minor skills do you have? And what are you going to get?”
‘I’m getting minor mental acuity. It is supposed to increase one's focus.’
“Oh. That sounds like a good one. I might get that.”
‘No! Get some kind of fighting based foundation:’
“Increased focus should increase my combat abilities, no?”
‘You should get athleticism. Didn’t you say you had an issue with gaining muscles? Then it is perfect for you.’
“But I want to be like a wizard or some stuff. Cast spells you know?
Maybe get some minions and some support abilities for them.
Or focus on fast casting stuff.”
‘What in the world is wrong with you?’
“What?”
‘To be a spell caster you need high mana regeneration, high mana pool, high Focus, high Intellect, preferably some high level tailoring skills, rune crafting or enchanting, extreme control attributes, high concentration and more.
But to become a great warrior? Shoot things with a bow? Throw a spear? Swing a sword? All you need is endurance, strength and dexterity.’
“Well.”
‘And, you want to be a summoner as well? You are insane. Only specialized missions allow you to learn summoning skills.
And the only clans that I know that knows how to get that kind of quest is nothing you can trifle with.’
“How was I supposed to know any of this? How do I learn spells by the way? You have the wind spell or whatever it is but it feels like you wouldn’t spell a skill point on that.
‘Some abilities can be learned with spell skill points, some will be granted through quests and some can be learned naturally through enlightenment.
I learned this skill because I’ve been flying with little Kiki my entire life.’
“Hummm. I can totally see me being enlightened.
“I was going to get some related to empathy but you know what? I’m getting minor mental acuity and minor mana ascendance.
Don’t sigh at me.”
‘Do what you want. Be careful with mana, once you over drain mana you don’t just stop, it starts using your blood, your life force as a fuel.’
“I’m always super careful. Don’t worry.”
“The air is getting warmer, the sun is making its appearance, shining up the backs of our hero and temporary heroine.”
“Hehe.”
‘What now?’
“He called you a temporary heroine.
Owh! Hey. It was him. Owh! Hey. It was the narrator not me, damn woman.
Owh! What was that for?”
‘You shouldn’t have laughed.’
“There is a scent of the sea in the air. In the distance we can see the scenery change from the magnificent mountain range to a jaw dropping beaches and the awe inducing ocean.
We watch our hero deep in thought. What could he possibly be thinking about?”
“I was just thinking this world is too violent. I’m also worried whether or not I picked the right abilities. You know what is messed up? Why are there not any starter magic abilities?
“Our hero’s not so profound thoughts do have a grain of sense in them. Sadly, he was not located in a trial area where everyone gets to choose one starter ability.”
“I knew it! I knew it! This is bullshit. I’m going to a trial area and getting what is rightfully mine!”
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
‘You’ll die if you try to challenge one of the larger factions.’
“Well. Still though. Narrator, isn't there an abandoned beginners area somewhere?
No? I hate you.”
“After gathering their thoughts the duo return to the journey and take to the sky. It would seem that the heiress of Keeo fortress has found her way.”
…
…
…
“Finally, after a considerably turbulous flight. Our duo lands safely, right be shore. Ready to rest.”
“How long are we going to fly this time?”
‘We're going out to sea, we’ll be going to the island that my uncle lives on.’
Uncle? Island?
‘An old friend of father's. I’ve only seen him once. The island is a half a day travel from the beach or so. we’ll have to stop and let Kiki rest before we go.’
“Ah. I wonder if anyone else managed to escape those, what did you say they were? Shades?”
‘We can’t be sure of who they were. A few people must have escaped, there were many people in our group that were a lot stronger than me.’
“Mmm. I was just wondering since we haven’t seen anyone heading in the same direction. Guess we just missed them somehow.”
“A gorgeous beach. Fine black sands as far as the eye can see. Quiet calm waves and warm weather.”
“Ye. You’re not lying, this looks amazing. Almost makes you wonder why there isn’t a city here.”
‘People only build cities on dungeons or quest areas.’
“Ah. Well. Still though, look at this beach.”
‘It’s just sand.’
“You’ve got no sense of wonder. Look. The rising sunrise, the glittering ocean. The mesmerizing sounds of the local wildlife.”
‘Meh.’
“Meh? Meh? Dear god, who hurt you?
Are we camping here for the day?”
‘We’ll have to stay here until daybreak tomorrow.’
“Sweet! I can get some levels in. How do you train mental acuity by the way?”
‘I’m not sure. Dad said you have to do things that require your full attention.’
“Sure. Okay. Sounds vague enough. Just enough to not be helpful.”
“Tents have been erected just shy of the beach. In the shade of a few trees.”
“Bit rude to just run off like that, leaving me alone here.“
“I would run off if I could.”
“What? What was that?
Cheeky bastard.
Let’ see.”

“I think Leysa won’t be too happy that took these two.
Now I just need a spell to use.”
“Little does our hero know that all he needs to do to learn spells is to manipulate mana of certain elements.”
“Oh? Oh? See, this is why we are friends.”
“Our poor delusional protagonist, we can only pray for his wellbeing.”
“Like this? No? How about this whassao! Swish! Kuuu!”
“How strange. Young Ji appears to have completely lost his mind. What sound is kuu supposed to be anyway?”
“No? What? Why so dramatic. That was wind sounds. What you mean what does kuu mean, like the way wind kuus. Like kuu, kuuuu!”
“What in heaven's name is going on.”
“Kuu! What is wrong with you? The way the wind goes kuu.
I’m going to try it with water.”
“This is simply bizarre.”
‘Ji, what are you doing?’
“Hey Leysa! I’m trying to create a water spell.”
‘And you do that by slapping the water?’
“I don’t know, I’m trying everything. Not exactly a guidebook lying around.”
‘I’m at a loss for words.’
“As am I.”
“I feel like it’s working.”
‘Why are you naked?’
“To better sense the water. Also didn’t want to get my clothes wet.”
‘I’m leaving again.’
“Okay! I think I’m really close to getting a spell.”
‘…’
“I have been humbled. Let us not laugh at the less fortunate.”
“Do I need catch phrases? Like, water wave! Water crusher! Ice bolt!
Damnit. Let’s see. Whirlpool! Waternado! Water up!”
“Please stop.”
“Whirl water! Water ocean! Ocean water! Sea slide! Aqua force!”
“We can only hope that our hero learns that he has to make a connection to a certain element with his eyes and mouth closed.”
“Hm? Why didn’t you say something earlier?”
“…”
“Alright. I’m going to try and sit where the water is about chest high and try to reach some kind of connection to the water.
I’m guessing I need to use mana in some way.
Oh! So that’s what that is, I was feeling a bit strange. Turns out it is me feeling the existence of mana. Wow, this is pretty cool.”
“We thank the heavenly gods above for these moments of silence. In fact, whilst our hero sits in silence shall we take a quick break and get something sweet? Everyone take a fiver.”
‘Ji?
Ji! What are you doing, Ji?’
“Hm? Oh. Hey Leysa. You’re back from, ehm. Whatever you were doing.
Anyway. Check this out!
I can make the water move about now. Even gather into a small ball. Not exactly lethal though but it’s progress.”
“A look of terror, jealousy and a hint of anger is on apparent on the young lady’s face.”
‘How? What did you do?’
“It’s simple. I just focused on sensing the water element. I visualized it moving and eventually it worked.
I´ve got to get out of the water I’m becoming all pruny.”
‘This is amazing. You must be a genius. I’ve been told some geniuses are eccentric, I guess it was true.’
“Do people in this world not know how to give people compliments?”
‘It took me years to even feel the wind elements.’
“There is scorn in her voice. I can sympathize with her. I wouldn’t want to be out done by this idiot either.”
“Hey! I’m smart. Just. You know, not conventionally.”
‘Okay.’
“Eh?”
“With Leysa’s defeated nod the day slowly burns away. Leysa has had a sudden motivation to concentrate on her wind magic. Ji continues to play with water, and improving at an incredibly rate.”
“I feel tired. So tired. ah. Blood? Why?”
‘Ji! I said to be careful! You’ve over exerted yourself and drained all your mana pool.
Ah! Your coughing blood!’
“But. But how was I supposed to know I was out of mana. There isn’t exactly a mana counter.”
‘You must have felt an increasing amount of discomfort.’
“Not really, no.”
‘How about pain?’
“Nope. I just felt tired and then coughed up some blood. I’m always in a little pain Leysa.
Small discomfort has next to no effect on me.
Doctors used to say I was lucky to not fall into a coma. Lucky to not go insane. Lucky..”
“Luck. Very subjective. I’d say I was the unlucky one here. And everyone graced with my utterance to be considered lucky.”
‘Ji? What are you doing?’
“No! No. I’m just tired. I’m just tired. I’m going to sleep.”
‘Not in the water!’
