Makin use of my long legs I quickly ascended the stairs and steered towards the dining hall. It was already quite packed with people by the time I reached it, none of them was people I recognized. Except for the teachers of course, because I felt the stares of Laura and Elsa on me immediately.
I sighed and approached the ring-shaped counter in the middle of the massive hall and ordered some food, with what some might describe as too many eggs. While looking around the room I spotted one of the last empty tables and quickly approached it, sitting down before anyone else could claim it for themselves. I began eating, wanting to get out of here as fast as possible since there were far too many human's in this room. Even if the food was delicious if every time you opened your mouth you felt like throwing up it would ruin even the food prepared by the best chef in the entirety of existence.
Then I suddenly heard four voices that were familiar approaching my table. I glanced over my shoulder only to see that Evergreen, Servil, Ivory and Nara were all approaching my table. They even had the nerve to sit down nonchalantly, as if they didn't even think it was necessary to ask first.
"I heard you saved her sister," Ivory said as she and the others sat down, tilting her head towards Nara.
"His," I corrected her.
"What?" Ivory turned her head to Nara who nodded, looking slightly uncomfortable.
"Oh, that makes you like ten times cuter," Ivory said, grabbing Nara by the cheeks to get a better look at his face.
Evergreen chuckled while Servil just had this overly uncomfortable and confused look on his face.
Oh, did someone just find out their new crush has a little surprise?
'Some prefer it that way,' Ira stated.
'Look at him and tell me he is a fan of it,' I responded, looking at Servil fidgeting in his seat uncomfortably out of the corner of my eye.
'You got me there honey,' Ira said.
I continued eating while the other four had a conversation about different things. Suddenly I got asked a question by Evergreen.
"Is that true Altair?" she asked.
I looked up.
"What?" I asked.
"Were you really the Crow?" Evergreen asked eagerly.
I sighed, mentally preparing myself for answering possibly far too many questions.
"Yes," I answered as I took another bite from my food.
"Wow, we heard a lot about you while we were travelling here, how come I never saw you?" Evergreen asked, standing up and leaning towards me.
Was she with us?
"I travelled with Rudolpho," I answered.
"You travelled together with Paladin Rudolpho? In his carriage?" Evergreen asked way too loud.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
I could hear chuckling coming from the teachers' table.
I nodded as I took yet another bite of my food.
"How was it? Did you talk a lot? Why were you allowed to travel with him?" Evergreen asked, so fast that I had trouble making out what she even ask.
I sighed.
"Comfortable, yes, destroyed a branch of some organization," I responded.
"What organization, has it something to do with that red-haired prisoner they tortured along the ride?" Evergreen asked with far too much energy in her voice.
I shrugged and continued eating.
Evergreen seemed to have finally calmed down and sat back down.
"So, is it true you had people working for you?" Ivory suddenly asked.
"Yeah," I answered quickly.
"Really, it must have felt good being able to have others work for you, I wish I had people that worked for me," Ivory said, trailing off towards the end.
I raised an eyebrow.
"It's not that great," I answered.
"How did you get them to work for you?" Ivory asked, looking as if she was ready to remember a hundred step instruction.
"Accidentally saved them from slavery or something like that, showed up a few days later on my doorstep and wanted to work for me. I said yes and they worked for me. Then I suddenly stopped caring about them, fired them, took on that organization, aided in the destruction of almost all of Titan's palace and the possible death of thousands and then got picked up by Rudolpho, that all the info you need?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
I could visibly see Ivory swallow. She nodded meekly.
"Good," I said as I finished my food and got up. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go," I said in an overly sarcastic tone.
I walked away from the table too fast to hear what they were saying as I left. I put my tray on the counter and left the dining hall, seeing both giants walking in, holding each other's hand. It was strange that the ground didn't shake while they were walking. I also wondered where their rooms were. Then I quickly walked towards my room, up the embedded stairs, through my door. I then turned, threw open the bathroom door, opened up the lid of the toilet and threw up most of what I had just eaten.
I also began chuckling again and I could feel my eyes twitching every so often.
"I... I hate this place," I whispered to myself. "I just want to kill everything here, every time I see these... these creatures I just want to kill them all, slaughter them, but I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't! I'm too weak, yes, I'm too weak, I'm always too weak!" I whispered with a high pitched voice. "I hate this, I hate this, I hate this, I hate this!"
My breathing was heavy by the time I was done cursing and throwing up. I quickly washed my face, flushed and sat down at my desk, taking a look at the remaining schedule for the day. In a while, I would have a lesson called general information, whatever that meant. And after that, I would have a tour of the fort's other facilities.
I leaned back in my chair and sighed.
"How long do you think I'll have to stay here?" I asked.
'Honey, you can do this, remember what this is all for! Remember your hatred, always!' Ira said.
"You think I could?"
I began chuckling.
"You really think I could ever forget someone that took everything from me, someone who is responsible for the death of everyone I know?" I asked Ira as I stared at my reflection in the window. "No, I could never forget. I swear by the name given to me by my parents, I will bring an end to this entire organization."
Ira chuckled inside my head.
'Good, good. And remember what you promised me, honey, hunt down the Hinterbach family while you're at it!' Ira yelled in my head.
I nodded.
"Now, let's get to that weird class," I said as I got up from my chair and walked over to the door.
I opened it and stepped outside. On the paper was written that the room for the class was right next to the one where we had a lesson on spirits in the morning. I walked along the corridor, down the embedded staircase, along the corridor again and then stopped in front of the door I assumed to be the right one. When I opened it I stepped into a classroom that looked the same as the one Elsa had taught us in, the only difference being the pictures in the back. While Elsa had pictures of spirits, this room had pictures of what looked like warriors, great sorcerers and the like. Names were written beneath them. The one that caught my eye was a picture larger than the others, a picture of an almost owl-like humanoid with wings attached to his lower back and black and red feathers, some white markings on his face and claws that could rip apart anything. Written beneath the picture was the name: HYPERION, ROYAL DEITY OF WAR.
