Nik, the protagonist of our little tale to be was taking a session for a group of grade school kids (social responsibilities and all) not that he felt like he should do it but it was more of a suggestion from the university where he studied and worked (more like the dictator's order). The class consisted of around forty children seated two each on colourful tables. They had no uniform to wear and so the class as a whole looked rather colourful ‘This place looks so damn confusing to the eye with all the chaotic colours and the charts hanging on the walls’ Nik thought The homeroom teacher was a middle-aged woman probably in her thirties, who frankly speaking looked quite pretty for her age. He found out that her name was Rachel. Anyways, she welcomed him in and handed over the class to him and asked him to take it from there.
Nik was puzzled and asked her “what's a medical graduate like me supposed to teach these kids”, then he put on a gentle smile that bordered on sarcastic and said aloud “ahem... kids, do you want your handsome brother to read you some great bedtime stories”. The pretty teacher grunted in disapproval and Nik was met by a withering glare when he turned around to meet her gaze. By this time, the children were hooting and clapping waiting for their story. Nik gave a innocent smile looking at her with obvious satisfaction that his suggestion had been received so well. She instead gave him a sour look, one that he thought was better suited to children caught stealing candy.
“Silence children”, she said in a loud shrill voice. “Your uncle Nik here, is going to tell you about how life in this world of adults is and how it is different from your life as a kid”. Nik was looking at her with wide open eyes, ‘She called me an uncle… that’s so unfair, women and their petty revenge schemes’ he thought. He was welcomed out of his thoughts with her kind smile but he still caught the playfulness in her eyes.

“Sorry children”, he began “but it seems like your teacher doesn’t want me to tell you stories, which I guarantee would have been amazing, however don’t worry, I’ll try to make this session as interesting as possible.” ‘Isn’t this a rather heavy topic for a grade schooler... but hey, what do I know it's already the 22nd century... So, I guess that’s fine...’ he thought.
He began by asking the children what they thought life was... A cute girl with brown beady eyes and jet-black pigtails answered smiling... "Miss Rachel said life's a mix of all colours."
“What’s your name darling”, asked Nik
“My name’s Rebecca, but miss Rachel calls me Becky, you can call me Becky too uncle Nik”, the little girl answered. Nik cringed at the word uncle and the teacher could be heard stifling a laugh at the back. Even so, he recovered rather quickly and said, “hmmm… yes, you can think of it in such a way, well done Becky”, she beamed at the whole class at the praise and quickly added “ well it was miss Rachel who told me that”, Nik gave her a smile and once again asked the class “Anyone with a different view " Everyone shook their heads... It looked like they had a lot of faith in their teacher.
"Okay... Now take out your crayons, colour pencils or anything of that kind and mix ‘em on a paper" The children hurried... muttering and chatting while completing their task "What did you get" Nik asked They held out their sheets and on the sheets were what you would undeniably call ugly splotches of grey and black with a few dots of bright colours visible here and there...
"That there kids, is my... your... your teacher Rachel's and pretty much everyone's life". Nobody spoke for a moment, and then they all began clapping and thanking him for his lesson. The teacher had a weird expression as she sent him off with some pleasantries. ‘well, that takes care of that’, Nik was thinking on his way back to his room.
The next day... At his university Nik submitted a report saying he had taught the children an important lesson...
