Gallant's POV
"Thank you." I nod my head towards the waitress. She gives me a smile before walking off. With my cover exposed, I am now a Lesser God. Taking a few jobs from the Adventurer's Guild eased my troubles. For a bit. I cannot stay idle. As a warrior, I have to fight. I allowed Aisha to mourn for three days straight, yet she refuse to leave her room. It's... annoying. I understand the pain she is going through. The guilt, the agony, but she cannot lie in her bed forever. The world will not wait for her, and she cannot wither away. This will infringe on our plans. Gale's death would be useless. She must be strong. That was the whole point of this act. Looking at my hands, I can recall a strange sensation when I carried Aisha. An aura. Aisha did not have one before, but after the incident with Valarie, I can feel something pulling me to Aisha. It was an odd feeling that told me to protect her no matter what. If I lose her, then I am nothing. This was the same feeling we all had for our imperator. Our old leader for the Black Knights. It is a famous title we give to the best of the best. The one that stands above everyone else. The Dark Imperator leads us through thick and thin. No matter what. Aisha has that same aura. It's faint. Really faint, but it's there. I should report this to Nero, once I snap some sense into our princess. I sigh to myself.
Why am I the teacher? Why must I be the one to comfort her?
I hate talking. Talking was never my strong point. The only reason why I talked was to reply to someone. Well, Dan was another reason why I would speak up. He was an idiot. I frown at the thought of the old man. My old blood brother. We were always together, watching each other's back. It feels weird without him. I just toss these emotions aside, focusing on the now. He did his duty, I need to do mine. I was able to collect the storage rings from my dead brothers. Four in total. One from Gale, one from Dan, one from Chris, and one from Lance.
To be honest, I guess I actually enjoyed Aisha's enthusiasm when she wanted to learn dual-wielding. However, I warned her of the hard training she will go through. Anyone can hold two weapons. The next question would be this, how will can you fight with these two weapons? A shield and sword is easier to fight with. The shield can protect you from a volley of arrows, it can be used offensively to bash your opponent in the face or push them back, and it covers a portion of your body. Wielding two swords cannot protect you from a volley. You can parry and deflect the enemy, but for how long? I ask these questions to Aisha when she approached me. She was at a lost, clueless to the dangers of dual-wielding. I scoffed at her, asking her why she wanted to learn. Her response was an easy one. It made me laugh. It was so simple, it made me want to teach her. For a challenge.
She explained how easy it was for her to deflect, parry, bash, and fight with a shield. She grew tired of it. If the situation calls for it, she can fight excellently with a shield and sword, but she wants a challenge. She would have fought with a greatsword although her strength wasn't that great, failing to hold the greatsword for a minute. Titan would be a great teacher, if Aisha could pass his test. She did not, so she came to me. Satisfied with her reason, I taught her everything I know about dual-wielding. I supervised her workouts, taught her everything about the sword, and instructed her on the things she have to work on. Reading body movements, knowing how to grip your sword, how to twirl them around, making sure she does not cut herself, teaching her the techniques I know about, the basics about dual-wielding, I told her everything. And guess what. She absorbed it like a sponge, applying each of my lessons into action. Fighting against me, she can mirror my fighting style to a certain degree. It was wonderful, seeing her blossom into a deadly fighter. When she dueled Patrick, she trampled him with a few skills. It touched my heart. I will not let her go to waste. I will make sure she will stride through her agony. Sighing, I pray that Aisha has the fighting spirit to live or I might end up killing her.
Staring at the table, this newspaper in front of made me... speechless. Big black texts captilize on Valarie's arrival in the nearby country. From what I am reading, Valarie saved the Graham's family from Emperor Titus. Due to the violation of some code, he was executed by Valarie at the night of the attack. Allies, lords, and any other groups that worked with Emperor Titus must concede or they will die. Most of them gave up their lands and titles, letting Valarie take ownership of the entire country. Scratching my helmet, I think Aisha should not see this paper no matter what. Valarie, at the moment, is her enemy. After Gale's death, I bet she wants Valarie dead. Well not just Gale's death, Valarie curse and stole Aisha's hardwork. Years of training, gone. I do not know if Aisha realize her strength is equivalent to a High God. Regardless, I am concerned about her rage. Her desires for revenge may burst out of her chest. This is not the first time Aisha had a traumatic experience. When she was kidnapped, she wanted to hide in her bedroom forever. Nero, Titan, and Amelia snapped her out of it, but she started to form a grudge against men. It was subtle, although we noticed it. If the guy was some idiotic bastard that sees her as an object, she hated them. She made a disgusted face everytime a certain individual approach her. She hides it well, but we can see past her facade. Eventually, we notice Aisha's expression when she glance at a beautiful women. She locks onto them, staring at them for a good while. We realize that Aisha might be into girls. I shrug to myself, not caring if Aisha is into boys or girls. She will still be their Aisha no matter what. Anyways...
The point is, Aisha will hate Valarie. The fact that Valarie will be sending her elite soldiers to pick us up might provoke Aisha into a frenzy. Hopefully, I can stop her before she kills someone. Or go on a rampage. I really wish Titan or Nero was here. I suck at comforting people. Hell, I want some sort of love right now. Ugh, crap. I feel like Dan is influencing me. Shaking my head, I browse through the newspaper. Other than Valarie's appearance, it seems like there is an entire page talking about Amelia. It goes into her history, but most of it is bullshit. They pulled out random things about her life and how she befriended Valarie and Brynhild. I guess people realize Brynhild came to the banquet due to Amelia? Whatever the case, this is fake. It says, "She supported them in their research from the sidelines. Giving expensive equipment to fund for Brynhild and Valarie..." Blah, blah, blah, yeah, right. Amelia did not have a ton of money. Besides, I assume Valarie's curse and Brynhild's [Defeat Inheritor] are out of this world. Technology can assist in their creations, yet the materials needed to blend them into a perk or curse is out of this world. Titan told me that Valarie cursed herself to create her own curses. Or something along those lines. The hell is wrong with that woman? These geniuses are on a whole new level of weird.
Moving to the next page, I glance at the news talking about the light and dark side. The two factions are always at war with one another, however, they tend to bug the hell out of neutral countries until they pick a side. For example, Zezrious, a nearby settlement ruled by a famous hero king, is neutral. They do not help either side. There is a benefit for choosing one side. Not only do you get protection from the light or dark faction, but you gain an increase in population growth, increase in trade, and access to magic or technology one would not have. Now, the better question is, what does the dark or light side want in return for all of these benefits. They need followers. Worshippers.
The light and dark side use another energy source in their movesets. Spiritual energy. They need worshippers to pray to their side or to them. Certain techniques require a lot of spiritual energy. Other techniques do not require as much. Regardless, they need worshippers. Making a settlement follow one side will give them an energy source for their armies. The more settlements, the better. The sole reason why neutral settlements are targetted by both factions. Another thing to note is the control of certain territory. Depending on who controls it and who wants to enter into said area, they might pay a cheaper or higher entrance fee. Other things would be resources or materials that can be found in said country. It can be high or low depending on one's status and alignment. And etc. The page I am on shows the countries that aligned themselves to the light or dark. Some areas have been taken over by the other faction through a Crusade or Hell's Wrath. Neutral settlements can receive these callings as well. A Crusade is an organized campaign to capture a settlement from non-believers. Hell's Wrath is the dark side way of calling a Crusade. Either way, getting this slapped onto your settlement will lead to disaster. This will allow the faction to go all out. Use force and make the citizens worship them or eliminate them. Allowing a massacre. A purge. On our journey, we have seen the aftermatches of a Crusade and Hell's Wrath. It wasn't pretty. Thousands and thousands of bodies are stacked outside the settlement. Dead. The settlement will be damaged. Ruined buildings, destroyed walls and roads, the fields burnt to ashes, the Crusades and Hell's Wrath are no joke. When a neutral settlement receives this call on their settlement, they tend to join the other side. Let's say Zezrious will be the target for a Crusade. The ruler can ask for help from the dark side to protect his/her settlement. In return, Zezrious will join the dark side. And vice versa.
You are force to choose one side unless you want to be targetted. Glad that Amelia's settlement wasn't that big. There is a certain population number that will attract diplomats from the light or dark. If we meet said requirements, we might as well join a side so we can avoid the callings. Actually...
Turning back to the front of the newspaper, I forgot Valarie has control over the entire country. Or the lands Emperor Titus controlled.
Both sides know not to mess with Valarie. And because of this paper informing the world about Valarie's location, no one will call a Crusade or Hell's Wrath on her territory. Valarie has a notorious reputation for both sides. She can easily take settlements and important individuals away from them. They do not want to piss off this crazy genius. Even in their own dimensions, she can still mess with the light and dark side. Dimensions, another thing I need to tell Aisha about. But not right now. She might stumble upon a Gate Guardian though.
Gate Guardians are trusted individual of the light or dark. They will oversee a gate that will take them into the Ascended Realm or the Underworld. Aisha has no clue about the rankings above the High God. Certain ranks can only go into these realms. The other requirement to enter a realm is to face against the Gate Guardian. Even if they are low leveled, let's say, a Lesser God, they can be on par with a High God or higher. They wield dangerous Souleaters and have forbidden spiritual magic that could destroy an entire settlement. I should warn Aisha about these individuals. I bet she might fight one out of curiosity. She should avoid them at all cost. The only who can fight a Gate Guardian would be Zen, Titan, and Nero. I can fight a Gate Guardian if I used my cursed art, but it will only activate when I am dying. Speaking of death, I swipe my hand over my storage ring. I pull out a sword. Lying it on the table, I stare at it's blandness. A metal blade with a boring handle. This is the cursed Souleater. Most people will think this is a normal blade. But it's not. The requirements are hidden unless you have something on you.
A curse.
Wearing the black armor, I am already cursed. The armor is fused into my skin. It will prevent the user from doing most of it's normal functions like sleeping, taking a shit, eating, and etc. The con is the inability to take off the armor. It is glued to you for the rest of your life. This is the curse of the Black Knights and our symbol. We willingly dawn this cursed armor for our faction. For our leader. I am digressing from my own thoughts again. Raising an eyebrow, I question how I got two tallies on this weapon. Apparently, I need one more death to unlock this weapon. Still, I know Dan was dead when he activated his cursed art... Did the weapon count Gale's death as well? At the least, his death was not in vain. I frown at the thought of my fellow brothers dying just to unlock this stupid weapon. I can report this to Nero later. I place my weapon back into my storage ring. Flipping the pages, I skim through this newspaper. Most of these reports are on the local settlements and achievements from certain individuals. Nothing stood out though. Orcs and goblins are attacking merchants and their caravans so stay on the main roads. Thieves and bandits are roaming about, make sure to keep your eyes out for their leaders. When I reach the hiring section for the local inns and such, I cose the newspaper.
I wasted enough time being patient. Aisha needs to get out of bed or else. Nero told me to test her. To see if she can hear our tale and to see if she is strong enough to handle herself without my supervision. I will not leave her yet, but she needs to do things on her own. Get money on her own, handle herself in the wild, take care of herself around strangers, blah, blah, blah. I should ask Nero to give me some money for this. I also have to teach her about this world and the do's and dont's. Especially with her power up. Chaos magic huh? Aisha needs to hide her powers. She cannot reveal herself to be a High God when she is rank one warrior. Her mage rank is gone though. Anyways, I get up from my seat, placing the newspaper in my storage ring.
I hope Valarie does not send her elite guards right now...
Aisha's POV
I stare blankly at the wooden ceiling. I locked myself in this room for three days. I mourned over their deaths. I cried my eyes out on the first day. Lying in this bed, I feel nothing. I... killed him. I killed Gale with my own hands. The other two knights died as well, defending me. I can never wash away my deed. Coiling myself in my blanket, I try to go back to sleep. I want to forget about this cruel world and return back to my ignorant life. Sometihng caught my ears. A small bang? Right, Gallant carried me to this inn. He left me alone for three days, telling the waitress to bring my food up here. He knocks on the door again, a bit louder this time.
"Aisha, it's me. Open up." He says. Ignoring his command, I try to go back to sleep. He continues to pound at the wooden door. It goes on for twenty seconds before it stops. Opening one eye, I can see Gallant coming through the door. How did he... No. He should not be in this room. Getting up, I say this, "Leave. I am still-"
"I gave you three days. I will be blunt. Stop mourning over his death now." Insulted by this, I get up from the bed, tossing the sheets aside.
"How can I forget the deed I done!? He died for me! Along with the others, they died protecting me! I killed him-" Gallant slaps me across the face. I feel the sting of his slap, touching my right check.
"And!? You plan to lie in your bed and rot away?!"
"What the hell do you want me to do?!" I screamed out. I was trying to sort out my thoughts. I wanted to do something against Valarie. The one who cursed me, but she is out of my league. I cannot seek revenge on her. I know that I will lose to her. She is a genius... she has to be. I never heard of her curse. And she must have used a Dark Art too. She is on the dark side, maybe as some high ranking individual. She has power. She could easily kill my knights if she wanted to. What can I do!? Tears start to form in my eyes. Damn it! Why am I so weak?!
"Survive. Fight. Live your own damn life. They died with honor. They sacrificed themselves so you can live. They did not die just so you can rot in your bed. They want you to venture out and explore this giant world, make a name for yourself. They know that their deaths will not be in vain! Stop being weak! You need to understand that life will always have their ups and downs. There will always be a time to mourn, to laugh, to cry, to love, to do anything. You have weeped for the dead long enough. Now, move on."
"I..." I hesitated. He is right but what can I do? He notice my uneasiness. My hesitation.
"Might as well punch it out of you." With that, he punch me in my gut. I fly right into the wall. Coughing, I grasp my chest. Did he really punch me? He actually punched me. Gallant punched me?! Snapping out of my thoughts, I evade his next punch. Empowering my hand with chi, I jabbed him in his side. The punch forced him back, the man grunting in discomfort. He shakes it off, saying, "Good, you can fight. Enough of this cheap talk, let me show you how strong you really are. Put on your armor. I will be waiting outside."
"Why should I?! What can I do against an opponent five times my level!?" I screamed. "Do you even know what I fought against? Have you ever-"
"Shut up!" Gallant turns to me, pulling his blade at my neck. "Understand that you are not the only one in pain here! Titan, Nero, Zen, Golem, and I are mourning over our brother's deaths. Of course they fought against unmeasurable odds! Of course there were some higher being that could kill us- and what? You want us to sit by and die? I rather die fighting than being a coward. Right now, you are acting like a coward." I slap his blade away from me, controlled by my emotions.
"Gallant, I killed Gale! I use my own bare hands to end his life. I can still feel his dying heart in my grasp. I remember every moment of it, and it haunts me. I... How can I move on from that? I killed one of you guys. My mentors, my friends, my comrades, you guys are everything to me." Tears roll down my cheek, staring at Gallant. He did not move, staring right at me. The only sound was my rough breathing, saddened at the traumatic experience I went through. He lowers his blade, shaking his head. His voice was gentle, saying this.
"Princess, I gave you enough time. I understand that this is your first killing someone close to you. Calm your mind and think rationally about this." Triggered by this, I let out a scoff. I raise my hands beside me, ranting to him.
"I thought I was free, but my mother sacrificed herself in the process. My knights are scattered along with my siblings, some of my knights dying before me. I even killed one of them to regain my strength! I did not ask for this Gallant! I did not want to murder my close friends! Not only that, some ungodly abomination comes out of nowhere and cursed me. She sapped all of my power and forced me to kill Gale. Even if I obtained this power, what can I do against her?! What happens if she comes out from her hiding spot and kills me? Or better yet, kills you, and the other knights. What can I possibly do-"
"Live your own damn life. And if the worse happens, then fight to the death. Aisha, you wanted to be free. This is a natural occurance in life away from your prison. People die. The outside world is full of danger. Most of the time, people are ready for it, and then other times, they aren't. We knew about this, but you did not. Talking about it is different from experiencing it. You are too innocent for this world. Something like this would be too much for you, and I understand that. I am not like Nero and Titan. I will not comfort you until you are satisfied. My goal is to teach and protect you till you are ready. I will avoid death until I complete my mission. If you continue to act like this, I will beat some sense into you. With or without your permission." He raise his blade once more at me.
"Do you even understand what I am going through?" I glared at him. My emotions are getting the best of me, clouding my judgement.
"Dan died for me. He sacrificed his life, so I can complete my mission." Those words hit me hard in the face, clearing the clouds in my mind. Struck by his words, I felt a heavy pain enter my heart. Dan died too? The fond memories of him start to flash before me. I fall onto my knees, shocked. Speechless. How many knights died during our escape? Speaking up, Gallant asks, "Does this answer your question?"
"Sorry... I didn't know." That was my only response. How could I ask such a heartless question? I know that these knights went through some huge ordeal.
"Understand that our group watched our entire faction die before us. We are forced to accomplish our leader's last mission. Even if our allies die before us and in other countries, we have our mission. This is our driving force to fight. To survive. Aisha, if you are unable to face the harsh reality of this world, do you want to die or return to your cage?" I quickly looked up at him. He continues on, "If you are unable to stand, then I will kill you right here and now or return you back to the mansion." I said nothing. My mind was at a blank.
What do I want to do?
I can recall that traumatic experience so vividly. Every detail, every emotion I had, the dreadful feeling of weakness was overwhelming. I could do nothing against the true image of unimaginable power. And yet, my knights fight on. They do the impossible or challenge it, knowing that they might not win. Am I so terrified that I want to return back to my normal life? No. No. I do not want to be stuck in some damn mansion.
I want to live my own damn life. Yes, I killed Gale, but it wasn't in vain. Yes, I bump into some goddamn genius that cursed me and took away my life's work, but what? Do I just forfeit my life now? Do I become some lame princess stuck with snobby nobles? Do I become a tool for some stupid prince and be their sex toy? And what about the sacrifices? Should I let their sacrifice be in vain? Do I toss away the opportunity my knights gave me? The power, the freedom, the undying loyalty? No. As I clear away my own depression, I fuel myself with the desire to become stronger. No, I want to be at the top. I want to do the things I never done before. I want to venture out in the world and face these sort of dangers. I want to place my names in the history books. A legend that will be talked about for years to come. I want to help my knights. They want something, and I NEED to help them. I am in their debt.
"I'll be damn if I was to be some sex toy." I gave my response, standing before my knight.
"So do you want me to end your life?"
"Not a chance." I gave him a small smirk. "I will live my own life from here on out."
"Not just that," he sheathes his sword, "You need to be ready physically, mentally, and emotionally. This will not be the last time where a loved one will die before you. You need to push yourself onwards. We cannot stay by your side forever. Who will help you in your time of need? You can only rely on yourself to do so. Even if it's painful, move forward."
"Easier said then done." I retorted.
"Heh. Right. If you want, I can give you one more day to recuperate."
"I... am alright. Slightly. Any news about my mom or my siblings? And the other knights?"
"Your mom is alive. I can talk about her after I teach you some things. Your siblings are fine as well." I was overjoyed at the news, but I had mix feelings at the moment. I am still unstable. Deep down, I still have some fear inside of me. I sat down at the edge of my bed, realizing something. Gallant mentioned his past. I do not recall any stories mentioning his previous faction. Better yet, the dreadful feeling when I think about the Black Knight's history is.... nonexistent. It's gone? I swear, it was there when I think about it. Like right now, there should be some sort of chill running down my spine. Any second now... Nothing. Maybe it's due to the level up?
Recalling the moment where I became unconscious, a familiar box reveals itself.

High God? Gale is a High God? No, no, no, that can't be right. Gale was a Demigod. Sure, he killed a couple enemies, but how did he become a High God? He did not even achieve Lesser God rank yet. Raising my eyebrow, I decide to see what this Special Divine Cursed Art is. As if I was selecting the word in my head, a new box appears. This explains the [Black Knight's Last Resort].
[Black Knight's Last Resort] - This is a Special Divine Cursed Art developed by the Black Knights. It is a safety mechanism that increases the knight's level by two ranks upon death. It will increase the knight's stats and skill levels to fulfill the appropriate power up. This will be available when they are about to die. Once they use this, they will die once the time limit expires. The time differs from person to person. You cannot undo this once you activate it.
Ah. So this was the move Gale used to save me. He must have fought against forty or more Death Knights. Valarie hired the Death Knights, but they were the ones who killed my knight. Death Knights... I have a strange hatred for them now. Strange. I ran away in fear, but why do I have a sudden urge to kill them? Is it because of the Black Knight class? Who and what are the Death Knights? Thinking about them, my body and soul yearns on their destruction. I try to shake this feeling off of me, but I can't. Weird.
"Gallant, I order you to tell me about your history. I know Titan and Nero were going to tell me, but I want to know right now. You need me for something. And what is it?" Gallant remained still for a good while.
"In due time. You are still uneasy. Let us get some fresh air. I will be waiting outside." Gallant walks to my door and leaves my room.
Cleaning myself up and strapping on my armor, I walked out of my room. Encased with my silver armor, I walk down the wooden stairs and out the front doors. I see Gallant on my right, leading the way away from the inn. He hands me my two blades. "Follow me." We stray off of the dirt path into the forest.
"Where are we going?"
"To an open area. We need to distance ourselves from the inn. I don't want anyone to catch wind of what we are doing."
"We're going to fight?" I asked.
"Yes." He said. It took us a few minutes to arrive at our desintation. It was a flat grassy field. Gallant checks the perimeter, making sure no one was nearby. Waiting for him, I felt a huge difference in my strength. I could barely feel the weight of my sword. It's light as a feather. Back then, there was some weight to it. Like I was holding a book in my hand. It was not that heavy, but it wasn't light. Swinging my sword through the air, I realize how quick my attack was. I unleash several more strikes before I decide to dash off the ground, covering a few feet from my last location. I toss my sword into the air, watching it fly high into the sky. As it descends back down, I catch my blade by the handle. I could see it's movement and caught it by the handle. In the past, I would fail to do this. I would grip the blade instead of the handle. I am utterly amazed by my power up.
"You can feel the difference?" Gallant walks to me. "Gale made sure you inherit most of his skills, techniques, and perks before he died. You are stronger than before. Valaire stole your life's work, but it will not stop you. Nothing can stop you. [Defeat Inheritor] is a very handy perk." Wait, I still have it. Oh, I do. When Valarie inflicted me with the curse, it says everything was taken away except [Defeat Inheritor]. Wow. Brynhild's perk is godlike. Holy shit. I really need to thank Brynhild for her perk. This is great. I feel great. I cannot deny this. I owe these guys my life.
"Trying to sneak an attack on me?" I blocked Gallant's attack. He tried to be sneaky. Heh. It was quick, but I heard his blade cut through the air. We have our blades grind against one another. Gallant lets out a laugh.
"Good, you can hear my movements as well. Let me test you, my pupil!" Gallant activates [God's Realm]. My body feels heavy as he appears on my right. He did this in a few seconds. Sly bastard. I had no response to his attack. Coating myself with chi energy, I defend myself against Gallant's blades. Flying from the impact, I bounce against the ground. It did not hurt me as much. As long as I have a thick amount of chi covering my body, his blades cannot pierce through me. There's ways around it, but I can talk about that later. Getting up, I watch Gallant appear before me. Quick me, activate [God's Realm]. On cue, I can feel the heavy pressure leaving me. I raise my swords to block Gallant, kneeing him in the gut. He backs off, vanshing before me. He is not on my left or right. Activating [Piercing Tornado], I quickly spin myself around, blades out, making a deadly tornado. It seems like Gallant teleported behind me, but my attack forced him back. He stands before me as he use [Dual Barrage]. In the past, I could not deflect or keep up with him. His movement was a blur, forcing me to run. But now, I can see his movements. Standing my ground, I deflect everyone of his stabs. I felt a sense of joy flow through me, overcoming the one technique I could not stand against. He shifts into his own [Piercing Tonado], flying right at me. I used [Dual Cross Slash] to counter him. [Dual Cross Slash] allows me to slash my blades simultaneously. Slamming our weapons, I stopped his forward momentum. It did not stop him from kicking me in my left side. Moving towards the right from that kick, Gallant re-enters [Piercing Tornado]. Shit. Too close! I try to block his attack, but he teleports behind me. I can feel some pain as the blades slash against my back. Luckily, I have my chi armor over me. His blade would cut through the armor and pierce into my flesh. Falling onto the ground, I roll myself back up. He stops me with a blade to my neck.
"You figured out how to use [God's Realm], but you did not use [Teleport]. When you fight against a high ranking individual, [Teleport] will become your best friend. If I teleport, you can teleport as well. Evading my [Piercing Tornado] is possible, but I can teleport to your new position if you teleport too early. You have to figure out how, where, and when you should teleport. Teleport before the attack hits you, then you successfully dodge them. The same can be said vice versa. If you delay your attack and force them to teleport, you can follow them and land your attack right there and then. Positioning is key for combat. If you successfully dodge an attack, you should be close enough to retaliate immediately. To teleport to a certain area, just think of the place you want to be at. [Teleport] can be used for short distance movements. It is not a teleportation spell. This will not take you back to your mansion. Now, try it." Heeding his words, I look at the edge of the forest.
In an instant, I appear at that spot.
"You got a grasp on [Teleport]. Do not use this unless you have to. Your stats have improved. You can withstand harder hits from your opponent, you can fight for days due to your high stamina, and you can fight me as my equal. The next lesson will emphasize on your stats alone. Your goal is to block or evade my attacks without teleporting. You must figure out how to read my movements and find me." Disppearing, he starts his next lesson.
Shifting my gaze, I see Gallant above me. As I raise my swords above my head, he vanished at the last second. Over my shoulder, I can see Gallant right behind me. His attack launch me into the air. Skidding against the ground, I flip myself back up. Gallant appears right in front of me. Lunging forward to defend myself, he disappeared again. He reappears on my left, but he stands on my right. Unable to catch him, Gallant unleashes [Piercing Tornado], making my body bounce against the ground again. Cursing at his movements, I felt a nagging sensation behind me. Blocking Gallant's surprise attack, I glared at my teacher. Getting up, I swing my blades at him. Vanishing at the last second, the strange sensation creeped on my left, then right. Blades counter each other, the metal grinding against one another. I delivered a shift kick to his gut. Huh, the strange nagging sensation is Gallant? Focusing on this strange presence, I realize that it is Gallant. He was teleporting all across the field, trying to confuse me. Using this to my advantage, I can feel him teleport above me, then behind me. I activate [Piercing Tornado], forcing him back. As he teleports away, I toss my blade at his location. I powered my sword with chi, so it can cut through the air. The blade bounce off of Gallant's shoulder, stopping him. Taking this opportunity, I dash at him, empowering my hands with a dense amount of chi. Punching him in the stomach, I send him into the air. Following his body, I empower more chi into my legs. Time for me to go on the offensive.
Crashing into the ground, he slowly gets up. I appear in front of him, kneeing him in the stomach, jabbing him with my right hand. He grunts at my attack, disappearing once more. Following his movements, I turn to him. He uses [Dual Barrage], his blades trying to stab me. I evade them with ease until he knees me in my stomach. He forced me off the ground, hammering eight stabs into my chest. As my feet touch the ground, I back off, slashing my sword at his head. He blocks with one sword as the other one swings at my side. Moving forward, I close the gap between us, headbutting the knight. He stumbles at my move, allowing me a chance to retaliate. I toss my sword at his head. He evades my sword, tilting his head towards the left, however, I step onto his foot, pinning Gallant in place. My chi energy can hurt him a bit, ignoring the armor that protects his chest. I did five quick jabs before I slam three power strikes right into his chest. Landing eight hits on my teacher, he swings his blade at me. I back off, Gallant vanishing from his spot. I follow my gaze to his new location...
"You shitting me?!" I roll towards my right, evading the red energy slash. The wave of red energy (magic) runs into the forest, cutting a few trees down. An energy slash is a manifestation of energy. Chi, spiritual, magic, as long as it's some energy, anyone can do it. They also have to be a Demigod or above to unleash this move. The energy slash can be thin or thick. Ultimately, it depends on how much energy was used. The slash was thin, reminding me of some small tidal wave. Eyeing at my teacher, Gallant appears before me. His blades are coated with red energy. This... is not good. If I had my swords, I can counter Gallant with no problem whatsoever. But I don't. With one option available to me, I dashed away from the black knight. When his blades touch the ground, a blast of energy erupt from his blades. The very ground explode, creating a small blast. Finding one of my blades, I coat it with my chi. And just in time. Gallant appears behind me, slamming his swords against mine. His energy grinds against my chi, white energy oozing out of my weapon. I unleash an energy wave from my sword, draining a good portion of chi from my body. Gallant teleports away as he unleashes several energy waves from afar. I evade two of them with ease. The last one threw me into a loop. It was following me! Running across the field, I found the other sword. Picking it up, I unleash two energy slashes at Gallant's energy wave. They cancel each other out. Suddenly, Gallant teleports in front of me, preparing a technique. I notice his movements. Hands tighten their hold on the handle, his body ready to spin itself around, body crouched. He was going to activate [Piercing Tornado]. I would cancel it out with something like [Dual Barrage], but his blades are coated with his energy. When someone uses a technique with their energy, the move can amplify it's damage. In simple terms, Gallant will be a magical tornado. [Dual Barrage], even if it's powered by energy, cannot counter his magical [Piercing Tornado]. It will crush through the technqiue. Mimicking his movements, I plan to counter his [Piercing Tornado] with my own. As we spin ourselves around, our blades click against each other, our energy slamming against one another. Strong winds erupt from our attacks, leaves blowing through the air. The grass sways at our movements until we stop. The two of us stand before each other until Gallant breaks the silence with a laugh.
"Hahahahaha, good. Good. You are ready." He says. He pats me on the head. In one subtle movement, he sheathes his swords. "You noticed my presence and fought me with your own abilities. The strange sensation you felt earlier when I was teleporting about was my presence. When you fight against a warrior around your rank, you can feel them. Use this to your advantage. Presence is different from one's aura. Do not confuse the two. When you fight against someone out of your league though, you will not feel their presence. Due to the large gap between ranks, the low leveled one will not sense them and vice versa. You can also use this to your advantage. You are a rank one warrior now." Huh?! I... I am a rank one still?
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
"Am I really a rank one warrior?" I am not doubting Gallant's words, but seriously? Despite my large power up, I am a rank one? Gallant nods his head.
"You are a rank one warrior. The reason why I am teaching you this is to prepare yourself for the real world. As a rank one warrior, you need to pretend to be like one. If fate has some sort of irony, you are doing what we did when we were serving under your household." Talk about fate and it's stupid irony.
"Why though? Can't I..."
"Think about it." Gallant interjected. Hm... Earlier, he warned me not to use [Teleport] unless the situation calls for it. He does not want me to become lazy? Maybe he does not want me to rely on the ability that much? Using teleport can dull my senses? No, that can't be it. I mean... I doubt I will dull my senses because of [Teleport], but why else would he tell me if the situation calls for it? Then again, does it have to do with my rank?
"Can a rank one warrior use [Teleport]?"
"No. Only a Demigod and higher can use [Teleport]. This is an ability handed to those who reach those ranks. Do you want me to explain?"
"Give me a few more seconds." I muttered, placing my hand to my chin. With this new piece of information, it has to deal with secrecy. I am a rank one warrior with abilities that I should not have. Gallant emphasized on my stats. Compared to levels, ranks, and other sorts, stats are not tied with one's rank. And he taught me how to fight without using my high leveled abilities. Will I bump into strong enemies? No. Maybe. I guess I have a vague idea to why he taught me this lesson. "You are telling me to hide myself? Even if I fight against a stronger opponent, make them believe I am a rank one warrior no matter what. I should not reveal anything unless I have to."
He nods his head, "You figured that part out. How about the consequences? Did you think about what would happen if you used [God's Realm] and [Teleport] willy nilly?"
"No. What are they?" He folds his arms, staring at me.
"If you used these abilities in public, you will become a target for someone. They could be good, but most likely, they aren't. Everyone have some sort of plan. Be it good or evil. Like geniuses, someone is after them. This is why you should act your rank and stay low. You are free from your cage, but there is a possibility of getting trapped into a different one. Be cautious and vigilant." Soaking in those words, I stood there in... shock. I never considered this, then again, I was sheltered away from this world. I scratch my head, nodding my head. Gallant sighs, saying, "With that being said, you will need to look like one as well. You cannot waltz around with your armor and swords."
"Makes sense." I start to undo the straps of my breastplate, tossing it to the ground. Gallant takes another storage ring from his, pulling out an array of clothes.
"Since no one is here, you can change into something pleasant. This will become your storage ring. Just spill some blood over it to seal the deal." I cut a small wound on my finger, dipping the blood on the ring. "I will be over there. Let me know when you're done." Watching Gallant walk away, I eye at the assortment of clothes before me. I feel a tad better after that. I was able to let out some steam, clearing my mind. A fight like this would get my mind off of somethings.
The world is unkind, unfair, and cruel, yet there is beauty underneath it all. People will always do what they want. It's in their nature. I was kidnapped, used, caged in some pathetic manner like some doll to be played with. My mom, my knights, those who really love me, aided in my escape. They want me to experience the world for myself. To be free. They will give up everything for me. They sacrificed their entire being if needed. I should stop thinking like some foolish child. Well, I will be foolish in some cases. I have no clue what to do in this world. I studied a bit about trade and some other handy skills, but I am clueless to the outside world. I need to change. Death will do as it please. Comrades will die, family members might die, nothing can evade death. I will mourn for them when the time comes, but I cannot stop. It would be a disgrace to the dead. And I need to push onwards. If I can meet a divine being that supervise this world, I will punch them in the face. If that's possible.
I should check the description about Valarie's curse. What was it, [Lustful Curse]? Just saying it's name, an explanation pops up.
[Lustful Curse] - Inflicting herself with the seven deadly sins and [Ascended Creator Curse], Valarie Valentine developed this curse. Tampering with the original curse, the first act of this curse will steal everything from the victim. This will only work if the victim is in a blissful state. Once the victim is inflicted with this curse, the next step will kick in. They will receive one of the two after effects:
1. The victim will lust over Valarie Valentine if they are not a lesbian. They will have frequent dreams about Valarie Valentine. After the victim receives this curse, on the seventh day, the female will go to Valarie's location and meet the woman personally. They will crave for Valarie's touch and abandon their previous life. The victim may experience a drastic change in their personalities. This is inevitable.
OR...
2. None of the above (Point #1) will kick in if the victim is a lesbian. However, the victim will have a sudden lust that is inevitable on the seventh day after receiving [Lustful Curse]. If they do not have sex in six days after they receive this curse, they will enter a [Frenzy Lust Mode] on the seventh day. This will also transform their status into a Devil. This mode will not die down until the end of that day. [Frenzy Lust Mode] will enrage the Devil to go on a raping spree on any female on sight. If one wants to prevent such a tragedy, the victim can always visit Valarie Valentine. By saying her name five times fast, the victim will be teleported to her torture chambers. Also, this is a weekly curse.
Did... No way. What the hell?! WHAT THE ACTUALLY HELL!? I grasp my head, cursing at this curse. I-I... What?! WHAT?! Panicking, I start to run around in a circle. Are you kidding me?! What the actually fuck! Who... Who is this woman!? I... Ugh, calm down! Just calm down. Take deep breathes me. In......... and out..........
Re-reading the description of her curse, I question the empty spot after and and before Valarie. What word can fit there? Or is it a bunch of words? This was really weird. Ignoring that, everything else is simple. I will either go through the first effect or the second one. From the past three days, I doubt I have the first effect. I did not think about that damn bitch when I was mourning over my dead comrades. I have no dreams about that abomination. With my sanity intact, I guess I have the second effect. I have four more days until the frenzy mode kicks in. Meaning I have three days to fuck someone. This curse in itself is bad news. On the flip side, I am now a lesbian. Or I was... I just denied it.... This also means I can get rid of my virginity- Oh great! I have no clue how to do it with another woman! My face- No, no, no! Stop it! I want to hide in my bed right now! I swear, Valarie just wanted to have her own harem or something! This curse speaks volumes! This is a torture device more than an actually curse! Like, my mom, her curse is deadlier than this! Well, the part where it absorb my skills, perks, and techniques sucks, but... Jeez. What the hell? I want to die. Go back into hiding.
But Gallant will be mad at me... then I will have to explain about my embarrassment.... UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
You know what. Shove these thoughts aside for now. Yeah. W-What was I worried about again? Right, clothes. I am standing with my black socks, tight shorts, and tank top. What should I wear? Contemplating about my choices, a voice appears beside me.
"Hi Aisha." Turning, I scream at the familiar face. Rushing to me, Gallant asks, "What's going- Oh. What are you doing here? Wait... Melantha?"
"Oops." Melantha was standing next to Alice. "I thought you were alone." She clicks her teeth together.
"Sorry for scaring you Aisha." I stare at Alice, surprised at her appearance. She's wearing armor? I never thought she would, but it looks nice. Nothing too big or bulky. The armor covers her vital areas like her upper body, back, arms, and legs. Her hair seems to be flat, showing Alice's natural beauty. She has no eyeliner around her eyes, showing her pearl like skin. I don't know why, but she seems so cute. "Is there something on my face?"
Snapping me out of my trance, Alice was right in front of me. "AH! Not too close!"
"Oh? But you were staring at me so..."
"Sorry about that. I did not expect to see you here. And in armor- it looks nice on you."
"Thank you." Even if her voice is devoid of emotion, it has a unique charm to it. Wait, am I seriously thinking about this woman when I should get some clothes on. I am talking to her in this embarrassing state. It seems like Melantha and Gallant are having their own conversation. Gallant knew her name though. Does he know her? Pushing that aside, I have no issues with Alice or Melantha, so they can stay. It seems like they appeared in the area? Hm, did they feel our presence? I will ask later. First, I need to cover myself. Looking at the array of clothes on the ground, Alice picks up some clothes.
"You should wear this." Looking at her selection, I can work with it. Sliding into the article of clothes and tying the laces of my brown boots, I wear a baggy brown pants and a tight brown shirt. This should do for now. It was quite simple compared to some of these outfits. I would be damned to wear a skirt. And wearing a gown isn't ideal. It would make me an easy target, and I would stand out too much.
"Thanks for the help Alice." She nods her head, giving a small smile. Yep. I think I am a lesbian. I like Alice a bit. Even though I don't know much about her, I feel like keeping her to myself although Melantha is with her. Oh, speaking of that, I turn towards the ghost woman.
"... that is why I am here." Wait, did she explain herself to Gallant? Like, she told him about her plans? How come? What did I miss?! I want to know! Eavesdropping on the two, Gallant says this, "We used to work with your people long ago. Your goals are the same as ours. Aisha will be a great candidate. And you should know why."
"Yeah, I can see that." Turning to me, she gives me a wicked smile, "We shall be travelling with you as well."
"What... E-Gallant, what did you two talk about?" I asked.
"She was trying to find a suitable candidate to become her student. Even though Melantha is not a genius, she was the queen of her own faction and created several new techniques of the Dark Arts. There are certain requirements, but I know you fit her criterias."
"So you just volunteered me to become her student? Weren't you warning me about strangers and how people would take advantage of me and such?"
"Melantha use to work with our people long ago. I doubt she would do that. Her people, on the other hand..." He never finished his sentence. Melantha gave him a look, shaking her head, "Trust me. If Melantha betrays our trust, I can kill her."
"You can?"
"I can tell you later," Melantha stated, "I am curious about the curse Valarie placed on you. People with her curse would usually run to her. Why aren't you running to her? It has been three days since the incident." My face turns beat red. Do I have to tell them? Better yet, how does Melantha know about this curse?! Did Gallant disclose everything in a few minutes?!
"Uh... I mean... C-Can we avoid this subject?"
"Are you alright? You're-"
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh~ That's why. So you're a lesbian?" Melantha interrupted Gallant, diving into that question. That question everyone has to ask me! I slap my face, screaming out the damn answer.
"Yes! I am a lesbian!" There, I said it! Now, burn me!
"I would love to tease you about it, but on a serious note, what do you have to do?" Melantha asks with folded arms.
"Do I have to explain it..." I muttered. Everyone nods their head. I like how Alice and Melantha just appeared out of nowhere, demanding these answers. I thought Gallant would ask these questions. Sighing, I gave them the short version of it. "I have to fuck someone weekly before I go on a raping spree."
Silence.
"Y... What? Really? That sounds more of... Valarie is crazy..." Gallant shakes his head as Melantha burst into laughter, floating in the air. Alice tries to hide her own smile, covering one hand over her mouth. Kill me now.
"So... how will we deal with this?" Melantha asks.
"Simple, you can fuck the girl over there and problem solved." A new voice appears on the scene. A white hair girl approach us wearing a black military uniform. Who is she? And why is she dressed up like that? Is she a kid? She reminds me of Jessica... Right, I need ask Gallant about them later. "Greetings, by the way." She takes a simple bow before our small group.
"General X, you came a bit too early." Gallant addressed the child. He knows her? Genearl X? Really? She's a general? A child leads an army? Isn't she... like young? Can she handle herself on the battlefield? Then again, generals tend to lead from the rear. They would not charge in recklessly. Unless they do?
"Orders." She says. "Follow me, we shall head back to your settlement now." Settlement? Huh? My own mansion? Why are-
"Did my mom sent you?" I ask. General X turns to me.
"Yes. Now come. You must be anxious to see her." Hearing this, I was surprised at this. Did she really send General X to fetch me? I do not recall a General X. Other than that, I have mix feelings on what my mom will say when she sees my current rank. Feeling some uneasiness and joy, I was going to ask some questions to the white hair girl. Gallant interrupts me though.
"Come on. Let's go." Without a moment delay, we followed the child general.
Gallant POV
This is a bit too early. I wonder how Aisha will feel when she sees Valarie and hear that night was an entire act. An elaborate plan to give her chaos magic. Nero ordered every knight to act oblivious to this plot. It's best not to reveal everything to Aisha. Amelia ordered us not to reveal our part in this plan, and she will take full responsibility for what has happened. The princess would be mad at our sacrifices. She has a gentle heart. A heart that could shatter instantly. We need to strengthen her, make her into a fine blade like a sword. She must be ready for the real world. She must move forward, never stopping. Even if loved ones die before her, she must press onwards. That's what we been doing with our final mission. I have to do my part and act clueless to the situation. Such a mess.
Arriving at the carriages, a bunch of females salute General X. Their ranks are above a High God. Mammons, Liliths, some Abaddons, and other sorts. They are equipped with cursed equipment and Souleaters. Unlike those fanatics, these soldiers are far more deadlier. They have good military bearings as well. Not showing any emotion and standing in place, waiting for us to enter the carriages. Staring at the horses, they are expensive stallions from the Underworld. Eclipses. Red eyes, an albino sleeky coat, fiery orange mane, this horse can kill an armored man. It is a tad larger than the average horse, muscles rippled under his fresh pelt. They can cover a few hundred of miles with relative ease and carry equipment that can weigh a ton. The carriage itself is expensive. It's made out of metal. It looks like dark brown wood at the moment, but it's metal. The wheels on the carriage are attuned with magic that can withstand the weight of the carriage. Aisha does not notice how expensive this stuff is. She awes at the carriage though, impressed by the display before her. Entering the first carriage, I allow Aisha, Melantha, and Alice to go into the second one. General X follows me into the first carriage, closing the door behind her. She sits on the opposite side, pulling at a handle close to her. In this compartment, she pulls out a coffee mug and a teapot. She pours coffee into her cup, raising it to her mouth. She blows on it before she takes a sip of the rich liquid. I would like to drink some of that, but I can't. The armor prevents me from consuming or eating anything. It's strange for me to watch the first human child to end two wars in this realm and lead Valarie's armies drink coffee so casually. She is also the youngest human child to reach Demigod in a few years.
General X.
A fearsome girl who would crush her opponent with no mercy. She is a strict teacher as well, teaching in several academies before she became a general. There are reports of her harsh punishments and vicious training exercises when she served at some military institutes. General X became a Demigod at a very young age. In the midst of battles, there were reports on how she would single-handedly wipe out an entire army by herself. She was also a decorated war hero for doing the impossible. Especially at her age. A couple years later, General X lead several campaigns against invasions on several countries. This little girl implemented new methods of warfare and weapons. The airship, for example, is a large vehicle that General X suggested back then. It has defensive capabilities that could repel an army of dragon riders. The airship can be used for transporation as well. She even lead ambush tactics that changed the battlefield forever. Guerrilla tactics are present in this world, but she exaggerated and turn them into a whole new level of chaos. She eliminated her enemy's intelligence with ease, she confuse them with false information, she destroyed key locations before anyone realized that it was destroyed, she weakened armies in a few days, pushing them into exhaustion, this child was a war fanatic. A military genius. I could go on about her achievements, but this little girl is that General X. The notorious bastard child that shows no fear.
"You did not tell Aisha about this?" Genearl X asks. She has a sharp intuition.
"Yes. I did not tell her anything about your arrival or Valarie." I said.
"Good. If we dragged out that earlier conversation any longer, she would refuse to come with us. And I do not take kindly to disobedience." Her expression twists into some evil gaze. Note to self, she's also scary. Snapping out of it, she says this, "Oh, I apologize for the death of one of your knights."
"Excuse me?"
"The plan was to kill three knights, not four. We found the remains of one of your comrades. He killed the idiotic bunch of our faction. As the head general, I apologize for their insolent behavior." It's hard to accept this apology since General X showed no empathy whatsoever. It was like this was some sort of business as she casually sips her cup.
"Don't worry about it. We have our jobs."
"To compensate this, I have taken the liberty to find other knights scattered in this realm." She hands me a bunch of papers, "I have special groups watching over them. If they change positions, you can see the details on page four." What? I was not expecting this. Skimming through the papers, I was impressed and frightened at the accurate information. It provided the name, rank, biography of said individual, and their current location. Turning towards the fourth page, it was a magical sheet of paper that mention the changes in someone's rank or location. This... How much power does Valarie have? How big is her intelligence group? For them to come up with this in a few days... No, she had eyes on our guys. Why? "Valarie mentioned you guys in Amelia's letters. She told us about your scheme to rebuild your faction. I decided to plan this ahead of time, just for this moment. Your leader, Nero, has the highest power out of all the survivors. He is the only one who can deem the next Dark Imperator. And Aisha is that candidate. We will help you as long as you become our allies."
This... The terrifying intelligence in General X and Valarie is out of this world. Did they see this? No. They couldn't have. I am speechless though. "Didn't you ally yourself with the Death Knights? They do not work with anyone unless-"
"The ones we used were slaves. They are nothing but pawns for the grand scheme." General X shrugs her shoulders, "All of them died after they fulfill their role. Nero and the others exterminated them with ease." Once again, General X reveals a sense of apathy. At the least, their enemies are dead before they leak out any information about their group. Yet...
"You want us to be your allies? What for?"
"Aisha will tell you once she meets with Valarie. If she tells you." General X gives a wicked expression. A sinister smile that can send chills down my spine. Her eyes thirsting for violence. "And I can't wait for it." Emphasizing on that sentence alone, she returns to normal. She close her eyes, calming her thirst with her coffee, "But for now, we shall help each other out. I issued a strict order not to hurt your fellow knights. The least I can do for the screw up. Reports showed that you were with the man that killed the fanatics, so he must be your blood brother. An old time friend. I have my shares of dying comrades from some stupid bullshit, so you have my regards. Really." I guess I have to take her word on it. She does not show it, but I can feel the depths of her words.
"Thanks." General X is... unpredictable. I wonder how many more crazy people are under Valarie's command.
"I need to warn you about the future though." General X looks at me with a stern gaze. "Aisha might become the next genius. Give it a few weeks, she might catch the eyes of certain individuals." My heart sank at those words.
"How come? I doubt-"
"Chaos magic. Having that will make the world turn. People will reveal their true colors. The magic was lost and now someone has it? Do you think people will ignore this? No. Do whatever it takes to keep it on the down low. The less people who knows about it, the better. I will do whatever I can to hide this sensitive information. I ensure secrecy within my circle, and I know your group will keep it locked in. Until Aisha is ready, do whatever you can to keep her safe. I cannot give you a lot of protection, but I selected a small elite group to watch over Aisha." She did? Were they watching our fight? Was that how she found us in the open field? I might as well ask General X who would target her.
"Who would want to target her? I considered the dangers, preparing her for the worse, but it sounds like you know who will target her." I lean forward, engrossed in the conversation. I am giving her my undivided attention. She puts her cup down.
"I have spies in several factions. The light side will hear about Aisha due to Brynhild's affiliation with them. They will not know about chaos magic, but they will want to know who inherited Brynhild's special perk. Knowing Brynhild, she will not disclose Aisha's identity or her activities. Although someone will figure out where Brynhild went to. They will send spies here after a few days of research. I prepared a solution to this. We have taken the liberty to guard every guest who attended the grand banquet, excluding the dead ones and certain individuals. They would think twice about sending spies in a region under Valarie's control. The light side knows how dangerous Valarie is and would think twice about provoking her." Good news I guess. Aisha will be safe for a long while from the light side. If General X is safeguarding the witnesses, they will not take immediately or risky actions. I will have to keep tabs on Aisha. General X continues on.
"The second individual would be King Len, ruler of Zezrious. He is known for his new inventions that surpass my own. He does not seek Aisha out because of the [Defeat Inheritor], but he is looking for a suitable female candidate for something. I have no clue to why or what, but it's not good. I have several reports where he abducted females that were never heard from again. It was like he erased their existence from this world. However, he must have a strong mage to do a mind wipe on the families and friends. I know about this because one of these victims was one of my best spies. Compared to every faction out there, King Len is a potential threat to our group. He can rival against my own armies and gather intel with ease. He has his own intelligence group that's on par with mine. I was hoping to inform you about King Len before you did something reckless. There's a slim chance that his soldiers watched your sparring session. My elite group secured the perimeter as best they can, but Len's spies are decked out with the best technology they have. They have a built in [Anti-Realm] and [Cloaking]. I do not need to explain what [Cloaking] does. The other one, [Anti-Realm], is a fearsome ability that can nullify [Demigod's Realm] or [God's Realm]. No matter how high your rank is, [Anti-Realm] can erase it no matter what." Hearing this, I can only curse and pray that Len was not in the area. Shit, I did not realize a potential threat was so close to us. King Len... "To give you some assurance, I doubt he will attack you right away. Give it a few years at the least. He already abducted a female a few months ago, so he will not do anything until thirteen years have passed by. However, he will do whatever it takes to secure his package. His spies are elite warriors of his group. They have fearsome weapons that can destroy an entire army of ranked thirteen warrriors. Be wary of him."
Slamming my hand to my face, I had to shake my head. The Death Knights are our biggest issue, but with this information, I feel like we made several new enemies. Regardless, we are ready to protect and die for our new leader. Might as well ask General X about King Len. He is a hero after all. Heroes gain a notorious reputation like geniuses. They did something that no one else would do, facing against unmeasurable odds. "Who is Len?" General X looks at her coffee cup. A frown plastered on her face.
"King Len... is a madman. Do not let his facade fool you. He can mask it really well. In the past, he use to be a sane, nice man. Something happened. I never met him, but Valarie informed me about her interactions with the man. Valarie, Brynhild, and Amelia met him in the Pillars of Gluttony. They made an alliance with his group, pushing through the difficult bosses and creatures of each floor. Along the way, Len received a Souleater that defies logic. I do not know if you have seen the towering machines in our armies, the Titan Busters, but Len has a personal Titan Buster that exceeds the rank of a ten-winged Archangel. It also did something to him. Valarie told me the man changed when he left the Pillars of Gluttony, and he changed once he returned to his homelands. He lost his beloved in the great demonic invasion that attacked Zezrious. This was a hundred years ago. He and his elites dealt with the invasion. The army consists of demons ranking above Adramelech and several Satan classes. They handled the enemies that were six times above their rank. Len was a rank ten warrior and mage, and right now, he is a rank twelve warrior and mage. He is not using [Hidden Presence]. This means that Len has a terrifying power and intelligence that can crush his opponent. Even if it was some Celestial, Creator, or Satan rank. He had [Anti-Field] when he entered the Pillars of Gluttony, and he mass produced it to his troopers. No one knows about this terrifying perk he has. Only a select few know about it. When he reveals it, his army will be indestructable. From my reports, he is equipping his army with his latest armor containing [Anti-Field]. They will be a force to be reckoned with. No army can stop him. We could be on par with them to an extent. Valarie can handle his army with a few commands. It's just that she does not want to make it too easy for us. Besides, she likes the chaos and wants us to do our jobs."
"Can you handle Len?" General X shakes her head.
"I cannot. I can handle him if he was out of his armor. But with it, I lose. You can describe the armor like some diamond. There's only a few ways to cut and shape the diamond. No, I doubt the armor itself is a diamond. It's stronger than that. It's an alien material that defies logic. The only one who can handle him would be geniuses. Specifically, Valarie and Brynhild. Other than that, Len is up there for being one of the top ten beings of this realm."
"That's a huge statement..." Goddamn it.
"Assume that every genius, excluding Brynhild and Valarie, are potential enemies. They would want to obtain this magic for themselves as well as the credit for uncovering it. Valarie will teach Aisha a few things before she heads out. The geniuses will not hear about Aisha unless she does some remarkable feat or if Aisha reveals her chaos magic. To be honest, I am clueless to how chaos magic works, so I can only assume that it won't be anytime soon. The dark side would care about it, but they have their own issues. Our forces have been annoying them, and their intelligence group is not the best. More enemies will appear later on. That's all I have to report."
"May I ask a question?"
"What is it?" This has been on my mind for a while.
"How could Valarie execute Emperor Titus and his faction? I thought there was a law that prevented high ranking individuals from killing low leveled beings."
"There is." General X folds her arm, crossing her leg over the other one, "But Valarie did not break this law. Emperor Titus broke a huge code though. Friends and families to geniuses cannot be targetted unless they break a certain laws in return. Amelia did not break any law whatsoever. Emperor Titus attacked them, and he was about to enslave Amelia. Enslaving a friend of a genius breaks that code. Especially since there was a huge gap between a rank one and a Demigod. Emperor Titus hired several geniuses to help his assault as well. The geniuses were around a four star Titan rank. Valarie saved Amelia with your help. By breaking this code, punishment is death. This also gave us an excuse to capture his lands. The code does not extend to those who are venturing out on their own. Even if Valarie is friends with Aisha, she cannot be protected. Not only that, geniuses cannot use this code to safeguard one another. I can barely explain this since I can care less about this sort. I am no genius. Valarie tends to break this code, but she gives no fucks. She does what she wants. Geniuses confront her and try to punish Valarie..." General X made a face. "And they end up falling in love with Valarie. In simple terms, they are inflicted with [Lustful Curse]. This is Valarie's loophole. The code states enslavement, but nothing about curses. And her curse is her own creation that defies logic."
"Right... Wow. Uh, I... Remind me not to make Valarie my enemy."
"Even I don't want her as my enemy." General X shares a slight chuckle. "All in all, I have no grudge or regret with my decision to join Valarie. I am enjoying my new position, and the things that I do for this madwoman." Her face turns sour. "We have unwanted company. I guess someone wants revenge on us."
I felt the effects of someone's [God's Realm] land on me. Activating my own [God's Realm], I follow General X out of the carriage...

Brynhild POV
Piles upon piles of papers are stacked on her desk. Brynhild glares at the towering skyscrapers, shaking her head. Why does everyone come to her. Her new title should not an advisor or some secretary. As a genius and the Heavenly General of Enlightment, Brynhild should be left alone, working on her devices. A genius must stay on top of her game, not away from her work. But no. Nooooooooooooooooooooo, they have to give her all this paperwork. Shaking her head, she sits in her chair. She should ask the other generals to help her out. This is too much for her. The papers never change. They always asked the same questions. Should they implement a sewer system in this city? Or should they strengthen the guards in this one? Should we attack this city? Should they call a crusade? Or maybe they should just give her some fucking space and handle it themselves!
The downfall for the light side is the reliance on their superior officers. There's nothing wrong about getting some reassurance. But this, this is too much. They should know what they need to do. It should be obvious if they really need this in their own settlements. They should know if they should call a Crusade. Brynhild is only one person. She cannot handle all of this paperwork by herself. It's because of the damn title. Heavenly General of Enlightment. She should have kept her accomplisment as a secret. Closing her eyes, Brynhild recalls how she made the [Defeat Inheritor].
She hunted down three Lucifer rank beings and use their souls.
Here are the ranks above thirteen:
Evil Neutral Good Fiend Demigod Saint Lesser Archfiend Lesser God Angel High Archfiend High God Archangel Astaroth/Lilith Titan (One Star) Four-Winged Archangel Asmodeus/Belphegor Titan (Two Star) Six-Winged Archangel Amon/Mammon Titan (Three Star) Eight-Winged Archangel Abaddon/Behemoth Titan (Four Star) Ten-Winged Archangel Adramelech Titan (Five Star) Twelve-Winged Archangel Belial/Moloch Destroyer Divine Archangel Azazel/Beelzebub Exalted One Ascended Lucifer/Leviathan/Satan Celestial Creator
At the time, Brynhild was a Divine Archangel when she fought against her first Lucifer rank enemy. It was a fearsome battle, but Brynhild barely made it through. After the events in the Pillar of Gluttony, she dived into her own research. Just like Valarie, consumed on finding a solution to Amelia's curse, Brynhild stumbled upon a bunch of random theories. Random as in scattered out theories around a vague idea. The flaws in the ranking system, the reason why the ranking system is how it is, and others sorts are listed in these theories. Brynhild figured that the main consensus, the main point of these scattered theories, emphasized on the flaw and stupidity of the ranking system. At first, Brynhild was okay with the ranking system. It was a way to establish order, create a system everyone can be okay with. Her opinion changed after she read these theories. There are too many flaws, loopholes that can lead to utter destruction. Some countries were massacred in a single day because someone hid their true rank. Some dark entity killed everyone as a rank one warrior. A rank one mage casted a high leveled spell that destroyed the entire institute. Reading these incidents, Brynhild hated the ranking system. People relied on it too much, allowing these tragedies to kick in. Of course, they could not handle a high level being, but at the least, they could have fled. Have some sort of knowledge that this being was dangerous. The ranking system blinded the majority. They become ignorant of the real danger lingering amongst them. At the same time she declared her hate for the ranking system, she obtained a strange message. It was called [Deathbringer]. The perk allows the user to kill a Lucifer (Satan/Leviathan), Celestial, and/or Creator.
Then everything fell into place.
Brynhild saw this as a hint to what she must do. An advantage for these shattered theories. Using the knowledge she obtained, she conjured up her own formula and method that might work. It was a huge gamble since this was a hit or miss chance. Brynhild needed a perk that can defy the system and be the ultimate item that could get Amelia out of her curse. Maybe. Brynhild was clueless to how a curse work and the one Amelia was inflicted with. All in all, Brynhild believed that she could do something for Amelia. A soul of Lucifer (Satan/Leviathan), Celestial, or Creator can defy the laws of nature. It can be attuned to do one of the following things:
-Make a new technique
-Make a new skill
-Make a new law
-Make a new perk
-Make a new Dark Art
-Make a new curse
With the help of the light side, Amelia obtained the necessary equipment to fund her grand plan. All she needed was an idea of what the perk can do, the equipment to bend a soul into an object, the object being a tasty chocolate ball, that would not melt unless it is consumed, and the soul of the ultimate being. Well, the last item on her list was missing. A soul. Obtaining a physical manifestation of one's soul is no easy feat, but conserving the soul for five minutes or more is impossible. Not even a necromancer can conserve a soul for that long. The setup Brynhild had cannot move to the location of where she might kill a high ranking individual. Not only that, Brynhild had no clue how to meet up with one of these beings. Luckily for her, the light side have some Creators watching over her. Amused by her plans, they assist her in hunting down a couple of notorious beings. They want these individuals dead, and Brynhild needs their soul, so it was a win-win situation. They also spiced it up with their ability to hold onto their souls until she returned back to base.
Like geniuses, the higher ranks tend to compete with one another. By some grand law, they cannot fight against one another unless they commit some huge atrocity against one another. It seems like Brynhild's targets did nothing wrong to the Creators, however, they have sent their underlings do evil things. This was their loophole in spreading disorder and chaos. Obviously, the Creators seem to be some sort of divine being that watch over everything. They knew what Brynhild's plans. Then again, it could be because of their alignment. All three of Brynhild's targets were Lucifer rank beings. They belonged to the dark side. Either way, they were helping her as long as she can kill them. If Brynhild died, the deal would also die.
But here she is, sitting in her own office as the Heavenly General of Enlightment. The Creators were impressed by Brynhild's grand feat that they DEMANDED a promotion for her. Brynhild should have told them not to do that. That is how she got into this predicament. Doing paperwork. Staring at her right hand, her eyes gaze upon her storage ring. Inside it, her weapon she picked up from the Pillars of Gluttony assisted her. It evolved with her, transforming into a Godeater. One of the highest rank up for a weapon that defies logic. The weapon counters anyone stronger than her. It empowers the user significantly and creates a deadly fear that paralyze her enemies time to time. It can consume some skills that could wipe out armies or eat away at [God's Realm]. No, what these beings used is above [God's Realm]. It was something else. Even her [God's Realm] cannot counter their frightening atmopshere. Fighting someone of that rank was a whole new level of wow. She could barely fight, and she would have died several times if it wasn't for her quick wits. After that fight, she won her duel. She obtained the soul and used it to make [Defeat Inheritor].
Killing two more allowed Brynhild to create two more pills containing [Defeat Inheritor].
A lot of people bugged her about her creation. They wanted it. It defied logic and it can power them up in unimaginable ways. Some of Brynhild's close allies saw her power on the battlefield. This was a life changing perk. It can make anyone into some god. Brynhild frowned at the sight of her fellow allies yearning for it. They should have some sort of restraint, right? Anyways, Brynhild gave her pills away to two lucky individuals. One of them being Amelia's daughter, while Aisha's old childhood friend received the other one. Heh. Brynhild leans against the table, sighing. Now, she will be left alone now. Hopefully. Unable to make anymore pills, she can find some peace. The reason why she cannot make anymore pills with [Defeat Inheritor] is due to the high alert in the Underworld. They have placed a 'kill on sight' label on Brynhild. If she steps into the dimension, everyone will kill her. Unable to kill everyone in the Underworld, Brynhild is taking it easy. Now, she could hunt down Celestial beings, but she cannot locate them. Without the assistance of the Creators, it would be impossible to enter the Celestial's domain. When she hunted the Lucifer rank beings, the Creators guided Brynhild to their homes.
Maybe she should see Amelia again. Make an excuse, ditch the paperwork, and have some fun with her. Thinking about it, playing with Aisha wouldn't be that bad. She is a lesbian, so they could try it? Sex. As she schemes a way out of work, a blonde female burst into her room.
"B-B-Brynhild! U-Urgent message for you!" Shaking at the doorway, Brynhild gets up from her seat. Is this another letter from a fellow ally? Jeez, she already gave her perk away to Aisha.
"Is it some annoying letter? I swear, I announced my-"
"I-It's not that! Y-You..." She was shaking way too much. Brynhild raise an eyebrow, waiting for the woman to hand her the letter or explain her uneasiness.
"What? Is it that bad? It can't be that bad." Brynhild chuckled.
"I-It's..."
"The letter is from Valarie." Brynhild turn her gaze at the armored knight by the door-
"VALARIE?!" Grabbing the woman and searching her, Brynhild found the sealed letter. The insignia for Valarie's faction was there. Tearing it open, Brynhild read through it like wildfire. "HE DID WHAT?! OHHHHHH!" The entire building felt a heavy pressure. Most of it's inhabitants fall onto their knees. Realizing her sudden outburst, she lifts her [God's Realm]. Yet she was enraged at the stupid Emperor. She should have killed those idiots. Valarie... Brynhild had mixed feelings about her, but she is a friend still. No, lover. Wanting to know what happened, she informs the guard and the blonde hair woman, "I am going. Do not stop me."
"As you command." Brynhild teleports from the building, standing before a portal. Before she goes through the blue field, four twelve-winged archangels appeared behind her. Their wings are hidden under their disguise. Hoods cover their heads and faces, looking like someone wrapped in a white blanket sheet. Brynhild knows what these archangels are capable of. Armed with holy armor and holy weapons, they are deadly female warriors that can handle an entire army by themselves if needed. Valkyries.
"We shall accompany you milady." the leader said.
"This will be quick." Brynhild tries to shoo them off.
"Still, we must protect you. It seems urgent. Besides, we cannot let you met Valarie without some sort of protection. She might be on par with you."
"It can also be some trap." stated another archangel.
"Doubt it." Brynhild scoffs at that, "The letter showed no hostility whatsoever. Fine, do as you please. I don't have time to bicker."
She walks through the blue portal, heading for Amelia's domain. The four archangels followed suite. There's a bunch of questions in Brynhild's mind, but Amelia better be safe. Knowing Amelia, she safeguarded Aisha with those knights.

?????? POV
This is boring. As a Celestial being, I thought I would be doing something rather... interesting. But no. Here I am, staring at the world below me. I can see everything from my domain. The world is entering another world war. I mean, it was already, but there are more factions coming out of nowhere. The demons, for example, are revealing themselves once more. After their utter defeat at Zezrious, they fled to the north. They hid there for hundred of years to replenish their armies. They would start their conquest if the light side did not stop them. At the moment, several armies are holding back the hordes of demons. Using their technology, powerful spiritual techniques, and tactics, the light side are forcing them back. Slowly. The demons should be aligned with the dark side, but these demons are their own masters. They are mindless spawns that wish to create carnage and destruction in their wake. The dark side does not want that. Worshippers are everything to them, so killing everyone is not on their agenda.
Other than that, several key locations are being fought over by the dark and light side. Neutral settlements are being targeted as well, forcing them to choose a side or face utter annihilation. They could be using these forces to handle several other issues rising from the west. An old necromancer is amassing a giant undead army that could rival the demonic horde. Unlike the horde, he has a brain. He has spies, an intelligence group, that gathers information about his enemies and what he has to worry about. He could reveal himself, but it would be too soon. He is creating an abomination. A monstrosity that could rival an airship or a Titan Buster. Hundred of thousands of undead creatures are under his command. Liches, skeletons, dullahans, banshees, grim reapers, and many more await the grand command to attack. The only threat against the undead are the holy classes, the light side, and other necromancers that could control or destroy the undead. I remember my shares of fighting the undead. It was not a pretty sight. The last time I fought against an elder lich lasted a few weeks before I killed it.
Close to this secret undead horde, demihumans are rebelling against their masters. Over in the western lands, slavery is a common thing. The human kingdoms on the west coast are trying to enslave the numerous demihuman tribes. The kingdoms use this to their advantage for numerous reasons. Free work labor, making a profit, enslaving their enemies, increasing their morale, and etc. After a certain incident, a group of slaves regain their freedom and captured a military fort. They make their own armies to fight against the human kingdoms, uniting several demhuman tribes to follow their command. I, for one, hate slavery. I do not blame the demihumans on starting a rebellion. However, the necromancer use their conflict to his advantage. He gathers the bones from the dead, making more undead troopers. I would love to tell them to do something about it, but higher beings cannot intervene with the world. We can only ask our champions to do something about it. I still need my own champion.
In the mountain regions, dwarves and arachnids are fighting against each other. They both want to claim the mountains for several reasons. For the dwarves, they want the mountains for mining purposes. Specifically, for gold. They know that the mountain have untouched ores. They wish to make mines to extract these rare materials. Arachnids want the mines for their own living space. A place where they can live in peace and lay their offsprings. They would have done it in the forest, but the wood elves would kill them. The dwarves, being stubborn creaturs, decline this request. In return, the arachnids decline the dwarves request to obtain the mountains. Bashing heads against each other, they declared war against each other. In my opinion, I think the arachnids should have control over the mountain regions. The dwarves could have accept their demand and asked the arachnids to let them mine the ores residing in the mountains. It would be a win-win situation. But no, pride got the better of them. I sigh at the stupidity of this conflict. Right now, both sides are at a stalemate. Speaking of stupidity...
The elves are having a civil war amongst their own kind. Blood elves, night elves, and dark elves are fighting against the sun elves, moon elves, and wood elves. Due to their religion, teachings, and other sorts, they just hate one another. Blood elves use their blood to do numerous things. Creating weapons, making armor, using 'inhumane' techniques, the moon, sun, and wood elves disapprove of these methods. It goes against their teaching. They frown at the black magic before them. The night elves use methods that the sun elves frown upon. Instead of being straightforward and respectful on the battlefield, the night elves use assassinations, sneaky tactics, and skirmish their enemies to death. The dark elves are just a violent bunch that the wood, sun, and moon elves loathe. Due to this tension, the moon, sun, and wood elves attack the blood, night, and dark elves. Defending themselves, the other three fight back against their former brothers and sisters. All in all, this is stupid. The sun, moon, and wood elves are just being stubborn like the dwarves. They are being conservative, not accepting these changes. Their final answer is war. Destruction towards these new teachings; these new factions that branch out from their own. In some respect, the wood elves use sneaky tactics as well to hunt their prey. Most of the wood elves skirmish their enemies to death as well. Everyone can see that the high elves (composed of the sun, moon, and wood elves) hates the blood, dark, and night elves. They just want them out of the picture and return everything back to normal. Rubbing my forehead, I can only shake my head.
Towards the southwest of this world, the orcs and goblins are amassing their own armies to retake their lands. They despise all of the other factions, humans especially, for pushing them out of their lands. The dark side forces are holding them back, but unlike the light side, they are having a hard time against these warriors. The orcs display a good amount of intelligence, using tactics and technology that can destroy their armies. They know how to use a cannon and use armored devices that can rival a Titan Buster. In a few years, they will be able to push through the blockade and start their invasion in the nearby countries. The elves and dwarves could assist the blockade if they were not fighting against another faction. Humans are being laxed about all of these world events. The rulers are focused on their settlements, managing the city's welfare more than the outside forces. They do have their armies, but it's more for show. The only cities waging some sort of conflict are found in the eastern area of this world. Zezrious, for example, is displaying a fearsome army compared to all of the other settlements. This one army alone can handle three or five enemy armies. Apparently, there is a warzone inbetween Zezrious, Aeston, and Warrington. I know that the three settlements are not at war with one another. Their kingdoms have a peace agreement with one another but I can see soldiers fighting against each other. Aeston's troopers are witches. Most of them do not wear any armor, but they can cast magical shields that can stop the incoming bullets or arrows flying towards them. Warrington's soldiers have a mix of magic, melee, and range on them. Wearing armor, they charge through the battlefield, ramming and forcing Zezrious soldiers and Aeston witches to go into melee. They can cast magical defense, and they can also use ranged weapons. Some toss javelins at their enemies while other soldiers fire their repeating crossbows. Zezrious troopers are armed with strange armor and rifles that can fire more than one shot. It's a better version than a musket. As I watch the scene before me, I realize that these soldiers do not die from getting shot or getting slashed. How come?
"I guess they are leveling their skills. Still, the magic being used and the bullets... surely, they would kill someone? Are they using plastic? No..." I mutter this to myself, intrigued by this strange concept. King Len is a.... strange character. I guess these three settlements want to strengthen their forces. Compared to the other kingdoms, I am impressed by this. Oh right, this is not my first time seeing rifles of this caliber. Valarie's armies wield these dangerous weapons as well. Speaking of her, what is she doing? Wait... She's nearby?
As I zoom in on something, I stand up from my seat.
"WHAT!? Who is this woman!? I must..." How?! In thousands of years, how come this person.... She has chaos essence and the potential- no, she can use chaos magic?! This... This is big! And how?! Who is this girl?! As I zoom my camera from the strange battlefield to Valarie, the screen stopped on General X, a black knight, Valarie's troopers, Melantha, and two girls. One of them having a purple color resonating out of their body. This is huge! This is... glorious! I stand up from my seat, overjoyed at this. I am glad I did not choose stray from my path. I couldn't help but dance in my small space, laughing at this sudden event.
"This... is great! So great that I must tell Chaos!" Upon saying her name, she appears before me. I scream at her sudden appearance, bowing at her presence.
"What? Saying my name will alert me." She lets out a yawn, "And I was trying to sleep. I can barely do anything on my throne. No one can use my magic since it died out. Stupid, really. All I can do is rot away." Eyeing at her, she wears baggy blue pajamas over her beautiful form. Her dark hair with purple highlights cascades down her shoulders, strands of hair lying on her her huge breasts. Her ruby like eyes gaze at me, waiting for my response.
"Look!" I point at the scene on my camera display, "Someone can use YOUR chaos magic!" Turning her head towards the display, her dull expression transform in an instant. She wears a smile now, rushing towards the screen.
"No way... You shitting me? Holy shit! Oh... my... god..." Tossing the brown cute teddy bear onto the ground, she zoomed in on the lucky girl who can use chaos magic. "How long has it been since someone... This isn't a dream right? I would be pissed if this was a dream- Pinch me Jinx. Now!" I approach my sovereign, pinching her on the side. She lets out a slight groan.
"Not that hard!"
"Sorry!"
"... This isn't a dream. Finally! I can do something! Wait, is she going to die?! WHAT THE HELL!? NO! Who would kill my only..." Ordering the camera to look around the scene, she eyes at the attackers trying to kill her new champion.
"Wait! Chaos, DON'T DO IT!" Oh god, if she intervenes with the real world, we will have to deal with the other higher beings. I do not want to do that! There will be like a hundred beings fighting against Chaos and me. Before Chaos did anything too drastic, the people died in an instant. Confused at this sudden action, Chaos move the camera towards the left.
"It's Valarie." I said. The red hair beauty stands high in the sky, waving towards General X. It looks like we owe her for saving our only chaos user in this world.
"Valarie? She is suppose to be in our realm." Huh? I turn towards my ruler.
"What do you mean?"
"I cannot explain it to you unless you rank up first." She flicks me on the forehead. "Still, I guess I owe Valarie a personal visit since she saved our new champion. This is great... But what's going on? It looks like my champion hates Valarie? Something happened... I guess I found a new source of entertainment. Jinx, get some food and some drinks. A show is about to start."
"As you command." I bow slightly. I can only assume that Chaos knows what might happen. She would usually stay in my domain if one thing was going to kick in.
Chaos.
