"Is there anything else that can be salvaged from its body? Wait, is the core still intact inside?" Rave pondered, recalling the valuable monster cores that fetched high prices.
The exertion had drained Rave, even though leveling up had increased his attributes. The actual effect didn't restore his body to its best condition as in a game, but it did boost his energy and made his body feel stronger. The wound, which had been inches deep, was almost healed; it was no longer in critical danger.
Having fashioned a makeshift bandage from his clothes, everything was currently stable. Rave had no other choice but to rest a bit more before going back to gather the Emberroot. Checking his status, the title, and the new skill he acquired, he took a moment to evaluate.

"Attributes are looking decent after leveling up, but this skill 'Thunder Rush' is great. Having great luck really paid off; it was unlocked and acquired as one of the rarest skills, with a grade of epic. It's one step before becoming a legendary skill. I wonder what will happen after this skill levels up?" Rave asked himself, contemplating a few things while looking at his status.
Particularly curious about the title, 'It seems like it automatically equipped since it's none all this time.' Other than that, Rave wanted to know more about his new passive skill.

Title: Undaunted Victor (EQUIPED)(NEW)
Description: Bestowed upon those who conquered imminent demise, the Undaunted Victor title signifies their unwavering resolve and knack for surviving mortal threats, showcasing a tenacious spirit in the face of adversity.
Effects:
1st: Survivor's Instinct (PASSIVE) - Improved intuition allows for a heightened awareness of imminent dangers, providing a slight advantage in anticipating threats.
2nd: (LOCKED)
3rd: (LOCKED)
================================
"Damn! This skill is good as well. Having this skill is very useful for my situation." Rave also noticed that it has a '(LOCKED)' icon, indicating that there are some requirements before unlocking it, yet a smile is prominent on his face! Having a skill like Thunder Rush is very good for survival and defending himself. But this passive skill is not only effective for survival; he would be more aware of his surroundings and the people around him. Rave can tell and would immediately know if something is off.
Arriving in an unknown place, even with Rave's information limited to what he read in the old books, everything is unpredictable. You cannot tell what will happen today or tomorrow, so having this passive skill is a great deal for Rave's survival.
After a while, Rave was able to rest. While running away earlier, he saw a river and passed by it. After a few walks, Rave arrived and cleaned the bandage and his wound, drank a bit more, and walked back to where the Emberroot was. It took him half an hour before arriving because he had to drag the Cinderwhisk body; he has no experience in disassembling a body, so he doesn't have any idea how to do it, leaving him no choice but to drag its body.
Even if the core is destroyed, its body is quite useful as well. Its fur can be turned into clothes, claws into weapons, ears, eyes turned into potions, etc.
Rave stood quietly, since the title 'Undaunted Victor' is already equipped in his status, the effect of 'Survivor's Instinct' passive skill will automatically work.
Rave looked at his surroundings, sensing if there's another Cinderwhisk or any creature that he would encounter. The area seems clear and safe; he walks around and checks where the other Emberroot is. After a few walks, Rave finds one after another.

Rave walks around and checks any corner, under the roots and crevices in the area. After a while, he manages to collect everything and successfully clear the mission.

"[Gathering Mission Updated 15/15]"
"[Successfully Gathered every Emberroot required!]"
"[An award will be given after completing his first-ever mission]"

"A reward? The system is very generous," Rave said, as he didn't expect any awards from doing a simple mission. He then asked the system.
"System, is every time he does things for the 'First time,' he would get an award?" Rave said, awaiting the system's reply.
"[Yes, but to be specific, the 'first time' is only limited to jobs, achievements, or scenarios. Depending on the situation, you will trigger a task and reward will be distributed.]" The system replied to Rave's question.
"I see, I thought I should get laid and get rid of my virginity and I would receive a first-time reward as well," Rave said in humor as he smiled and laughed at what he said. Unexpectedly, the system replied.
"[The probability is not small; you might trigger a task at hand, and a reward will be received.]" The system replied to Rave, and with his passive skill, there's an intuition; he can tell that the system is actually not joking, and there might be a reward to receive... Once that happens.
"Fucking hell, I'm just joking. Why would you say that?" Rave said, but deep in his mind, a thought, 'Should he do it? But with who?' lingers. When will it happen, only the universe can tell. (Or the author :D)
...
Back to the forest, Rave was able to collect the last piece of Emberroot, and the prompt of the system already popped up, saying that he should submit the mission. But before putting the herb in his inventory, his passive skill suddenly activated. His intuition told him to dodge and quickly move away from his position.
He immediately sensed something dangerous and swiftly darted away, pivoting his foot to the side.
SWISH
THUD
A bead of sweat formed on Rave's forehead as he looked at the spot where he had stood moments ago. A wooden spear was now embedded deeply into the ground. His gaze then shifted to a particular direction.
RUSTLE
THUMP
RUSTLE
THUMP
...
Looking in that direction, he saw three silhouettes of familiar faces.
Cinderwhisk!
