Chapter 1: Pre-genises

There are rules to the universe everyone understands and must follow like physics, time, existence, dimensionality and infinitely more, but what if those rules were only a figment of our imagination? everything you've ever knew was all but set in place. Is it possible to try and think about? to try and even comprehend such a thought? For almost everyone the answer would be no, but for very few that answer would be yes.

The alarm blared its inevitable ringing as it did every morning at 6 but the sheets stood still, finally its occupant flung its arm out and slammed the alarm. The arms body emerged from the bed and Evan was forced to get up and get ready for school for what felt like the 100th time while in reality it was only the second day of school. “When did I ever agree to this?” he muttered under his breath stumbling out the front door.

Second day of sophomore year and already Evan’s only thoughts were “When does summer break start again?” With the bus pulling up Evan was getting ready to deal with the boring classes that lasted for what felt like days and the teachers that  spoke empty words with full confidence of which then only demonstrated their stupidity to the world around them. Even with being color-blind, Evan saw the world with an understanding that no adult could fathom. It seemed that those around him and even those his age didn't understand the complexity that surrounded them in each moment that did have, could have and will pass.

After listening to all the pointless conversations between the people on the bus around him which although seemed unhumorous to Evan everyone laughed, and so thus must he. “Why do people laugh at such senseless comments? Or maybe there laughing at the stupidity of the comment? no, they find it amusing and then in some way humorous.” Although Evan understood most things, the minds of others were an exception. “Why do people make decisions like they do? why is it no worth of thought seem to impact their responses, what made people work the way they did and why does it not seem to apply to myself?” these were few of many questions Evan had been asking himself for years with no sight of resolve.

After finishing his math worksheet which wasn't due till the end of class Evan had another hour to kill and so he was left to his thoughts and as usual his mind wandered. In his world of thought much seemed like that of the real world, sometimes it seemed that maybe his imagination was farther from fantasy then the world he lived in was. Everything around him was in perfect sync and everything was playing their part as they would, every second passing seemed not as a section of time but infinitely many frozen moments strung together to make a single second, all of this is what Evan saw around him and it was all just that much more disappointing when the teacher spoke to him… and Evan was sucked out of his mind and into his discombobulated reality.

At lunch Evan sat around talking with his friends, who although weren't as aware of the world as he was they still were quite fun to talk to and each one had their own personality. Rick was Evan's best friend, he had a ridiculous sense of humor and just blurted out whatever came to his mind. He  was the loud one of the group, if he decided to talk, everyone was sure to hear him, but Evan had always seem his small but existing understanding of how the world worked which no one else seemed to see. Drake, Evans silent friend always seemed to just sit and watch gathering information, if you were to ask him something he was sure to know it, either that or he would pretend not to know as he was a know-ed judge when it came to secrets and people and knew whether or not you were rightfully inclined to know. Evan also had a girl who always sat with them named Ellie who seemed to take a liking to Evan and failed miserably to conceal it.

Evans friends were always trying to convince him “Just go out with her already, she's super hot” and “If you don't make a move soon then i will”. The only problem was Evan didn't like Ellie, “She's hot sure, but she she no idea who she is as a person or what means to truly connect with someone” “But dude, this is high school, you're supposed to have stupid relationships and learn what to do and what not to do”. But sadly Evan understood all too well what decisions were right and wrong, he understood you don't have to make a mistake to move forward, you simply have to experience it. People just used “you learn from mistakes” as an excuse to pardon theirs, while in reality it isn't true that you have to make the mistake, you only have to understand it.

Evan went through the rest of the day on what he called autopilot, it was when he simply zoned out and his body went along with this usually routine allowing his mind to rest without interruption. Evan actually did this for the rest of the semester, even for his finals, letting his body take the test, not his mind. For the second semester none of his classes changed, except for sports and art, they were being replaced with business management and philosophy. “Sports will be an easy A, but I've never taken philosophy before so that might be a little difficult” thought Evan as he again got on the bus for his first day of the second semester. He could not have been less prepared for what was coming, an unexpected journey of thought and soul, with universes in the hang of destruction and unlimited power at his hands, Evan was even more oblivious than the people around him to the upcoming events of unknown possibility.
