Life as a town Healer 2

Life as a town Healer 2

While James is thinking about all the way he would use all of that stuff, the bald man has returned carrying a pouch filled with what James presumed to be the 50 wolfs core. The man handed James the cores with a big smile on his face.

"Here you go doc, 50 wolfs core just like what you asked"

"Thank you, so wheres your lover?"

"The leader said that he will bring him home so I can rest assured. Once again doc thank you very much for saving Henry's life"

"There's nothing to thanks me for, you already paid"

"Of course, then I'll be leaving"

They said goodbye to each other and once again James is left alone in the room. *grumble* James then realized that he hasn't eaten anything this morning so while he waits for another patient to come he decided to please his stomach first. When he arrived at the kitchen, there he sees on the table is Chris and Claire playing chess. James ignores them as he goes to get his food, then he sat beside them and watch them play while he eats.

At a glance, the number of pieces on the board indicates that Chris is winning but when James take a closer look at the position of the piece he knew that Claire is better if Chris falls to her trap she will instantly win in 2 moves and so he did, by sacrificing her queen Claire wins the game with a pawn push.

"That's an amazing move, Claire, where did you learn that"

"Doc! didn't see you there" Chris is surprised hearing James voice since the way they are sitting block Chris view of James.

"Ehehe" Claire is bashfully laughing for getting praised. "I learn that from playing"

"You must have a natural talent for chess"

"Thank you, btw is the man fine?" Claire asked trying to divert the conversation.

With a smug smile on his face, James said. "Why are you asking that, of course, he's fine it is me who healed him"

"Wow, I didn't know you have such a big ego" Chris join in on the conversation.

"It's not my ego, its a fact. By the way, speaking of that I thought you want to be a doctor, why didn't you watch me then? Huh?" He asked Chris.

"Well uh," Chris doesn't know how to answer that.

"Nevermind, don't answer that. I'll go chill at my room, call me when there's a new patient that needs healing. Oh and Claire can you clean this up?" James said while pointing at his finished plate.

While waiting for another patient to shows up Jems is browsing on the internet. Because of the world-shattering event that is now called manapocalypse, the majority of human civilization is now gone and in an extension of that is the content on the net, now the internet is only used by either extremely lucky who happens to take care of their technology or those who are extremely wealthy.

James still has many unanswered questions about the internet as a whole, for one how he still have any quota to connect to the internet in his sim card, the next is how in the hell that the internet is even working in the first place when almost all of the civilized world is gone. It is a question that can be answered if he just only digs deep enough but he doesn't really care that much to do that, so instead he let it be a mysteries for him.

Instead of spending his time thinking about that, James spent his enjoying the service it provided, in this case, that service is electronic mail or e-mail. James is sorting through all of his emails on his inbox, he usually used it to discuss a topic with somebody on the internet about magic. When he is sorting through that, he got surprised as there's a new mail that comes, he is even more surprised to see the sender names, Adam Miles a very famous person on the internet right now.

Adam is famous on the internet for having a great amount of knowledge about magic and mana, he often starts an online discussion talking about magic theory and stuff. James sometimes joins in on the discussion that's why he recognizes Adam names on his inbox.

Curious about the content James quickly open the email to see what could Adam Miles, the great ferromancer himself possibly sent him. His curiosity slowly but surely turns to a surprise the more he read through the mail, apparently, according to Adam the once thought to be destroyed World government is not truly destroyed, there's still fragments of the old world government that tried to once again take control of the world like they used to.

And James is invited by Adam to be part of it, Adam is creating a group of mages called the Council of Magi with the purpose of taking care of anything magical from research and development to regulating magic on behalf of the world government. James is of course very interested at that, just being able to discuss magic face to face with other mages is enough for him to join but then there's also the privilege to have a proper lab for his research and a team for him to lead and other very interesting promises make him want to go right now.

James immediately writes a reply to say that he is 100% interested in joining the council but halfway through his writing, another patient has arrived at his doorstep as indicated by the annoying knocking from Chris on James door.

"Doc!! DOC!!!!"

"Yeah yeah I can hear you," James said as he opens the door revealing Chris with another person that must be the patient.

How did James know he is the patient? Well, it is very clear when you see a man walking with 1-meter long spear jutting out of his body. James is very familiar with these kinds of primitive weaponry, it is the sign of goblins, they are like slightly intelligence hairless green monkeys.

It's not only James that hated goblins, everybody else that has the unfortunate time to meet them will also develop hate for them. Not only they are numerous, but they are also very agile and stronger for their sizes. They are somewhat smart enough to make traps and uses a weapon, that is why James hates them but for the other, they also hate the goblin for different reasons.

They do not have a core, even though they are clearly a monster the majority of goblins do not have cores on their brain, that makes hunting them unprofitable for the monster hunters and for that minority of goblins who have cores they are much more smarter, stronger and faster than an ordinary goblin that just makes hunting goblins a lot more troublesome then it already is.

"Goblins?" James asked the man.

"Goblin" The man answer, short and simple.

After that brief exchange between the two, the proceed with the operation without uttering a single word. James brought the man to the operation room, sat him to the bed, pulled the spear, healed his wound, take his payment, and done. It's not a complicated thing to do, even the injured man himself can probably treat himself but to heal the wound fast enough he needs James help.
