“Well... the old man said we’re somewhere in the Land of Fire, which is still rather vague. I think we should find a town or something to figure out where we are and what’s going on” Stated Narumi gesturing towards the burnt ruins around her.
Sasuke nodded in agreement before adding “We also need to find some work or other means of gathering funds. We have next to nothing at the moment.”
“Then that settles it! I’ll send some shadow clones to scout the area, then we’ll travel to the nearest city!” exclamed Narumi, quickly summoning 10 clones that scattered woods around them.
”Narumi, something needs to be done about your eyes... Should wuord of them get to the Hyūga or others, they will actively hunt for you.” Warned Sasuke”
“Oh, I totally forgot! Ha Ha...” Narumi said with an embarrassed laugh, scratching the back of her head.
In response Sasuke just sighed and shook his head.
Together they practiced their new Kekkei Genkai abilities while waiting for the clones. Narumi was recalling what her friend Hinata had shared with her about the byakugan. Using what she knew, she sat against a tree meditating. Narumi focused on supplying her eyes with chakra when her world suddenly expanded. Despite that her eyes were closed, she could see the world around her.
After spending an hour meditating together, Narumi suddenly hopped to her feet. She approached a meditating Sasuke with some news.
“Hey! My clones unsummoned, we’re about a half days journey south of Nochi City. Let’s go!” Narumi cheerfully announced, then tearing a strip of cloth from her remaining sleeve she tied it around her head to cover her eyes.

Together they left the ruins behind, jumping tree to tree. Traveling north they found a major road, to avoid any unwanted attention they slowed to a walk as they followed it and encountered traders, travelers, and refugees along the way. They learned from them that the 3rd Great Shinobi War had been raging for almost the last 2 years.
The news shocked them, they were sent 21 years into the past. When they were alone Narumi went from shocked to excited and exclaimed “We can save our families Sasuke! We can prevent the Uchiha massacre and save my parents!” She embraced Sasuke in glee on the road side, he awkwardly patted her back before taking the wind out of her sails.
“We can’t just show up out of the blue... We need to establish backstories, if we are an unknown Konoha won’t accept us. They may see us as a threat, we need to build a favorable reputation with them first.” Calmly interjected Sasuke
Narumi sighed, calming down she released Sasuke from her embrace and they continued walking. She then wistfully stated “I understand, we need new identities and a probable origin. Though I don’t know much about my clan, they were erased from Kohona’s records and Jiraiya sensei didn’t say much about them... I would like to visit Uzushiogakure and see if there’s anything still there...”
”I think that could be worthwhile, but we need some supplies before we make that journey.” Sasuke said in agreement, much to Narumi’s surprise.
They walked together in silence for a few hours along the fairly busy road until Sasuke suddenly said “I think that it’ll be for the best if we choose new names for ourselves. It’ll be hard enough to speak to our parents and others we knew previously, them calling us by name will make interactions with them... painful.”
Narumi tilted her head towards him and with a sigh said “Alright, what do you want me to call you from now on?”
”I’ll go by Sato, Sato Uchiha. One of my clansman by the name of Izu fled during the second great war, I’ll just say I’m her son and that she fled because she was pregnant.”
“Hmm, ok then Sato Uchiha. You may call me Rina Uzumaki.” She said looping her arm through his as they walked. She continued “Let’s live in the moment for now and get used to our new life. All this heavy stuff is kinda depressing, you know?”
”Ha, I promise.” chuckled Sato as they they reached the outskirts of Nochi City.
