Sasuke sits up sharply, his wounds were healed as if they never existed. His left arm whole once again, he clenches his hand into a fist, testing it. The unfamiliar surroundings drawning his attention, burnt out homes and forest surrounding him.

He hears a pained groan from next to him, looking down to see Narumi curled into a ball clutching her head, but otherwise whole. “Narumi? What’s wrong?” He asked with concern.

“My eyes... it felt like they were on fire...” she looks up at Sasuke to see a surprised look appear on his face. “What? Why are you staring at me like that?”

“Narumi your eyes... they’re completely white... like a Hyūga!” Sasuke exclaimed in shock.

“Well, this wasn’t what I expected...” stated a third voice. Narumi and Sasuke whirl around on to their feet to face the voice’s source to see the Sage of Six Paths standing before them, he continued “The jutsu Kurama and his siblings activated to save the two of you and bring you here was intended to be a fail-safe in the event my mother’s resurrection was imminent... To offer a second chance for preventing it, but it was used to give the two of you that chance. Please don’t squander it.”

Sasuke was the first to speak. “Where exactly is ‘here’?”

”The two of you are still in the Land of Fire, when or where? I an uncertain.” Responded the great Sage

”When? What do mean by that?” Inquired Sasuke with a trace of irritation in his voice.

“The past. The seal I placed on each of the tailed beast allowed them, with cooperation to push an individual back through time should they pour their chakra into that seal, activating my jutsu. Undoing the events of the world up to this point in time. The more chakra, the further back you will travel.” calmly explained the Sage, leaving Sasuke stunned.

Narumi with concern asked “What are the consequences of us coming here? My eyes suddenly changed... so...”

The Sage raised his hand silencing her, he then answered. “I am a merely an imprint of chakra from the seal, my time is short. Through I will answer your questions before I dissipate. My time space jutsu reveresed time on your bodies back to an uninjured state. This process may caused the awakening of your byakugan, meaning you are also a descendent of my brother.

As for consequences of your arrival? You do not need to worry, you will not suddenly cease to exist should you act, but there will be some slight changes going forward. Now farewell.”

With that finale explanation the Sage of Six Paths fades away.

Narumi and Sasuke while still numb from the encounter felt exhaustion creeping up upon them. Together they cleared a hollow in a nearby ruined house and together collapsed into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning with a terrible hunger, they arose and began to explore the destroyed village. With nothing but the tattered and torn clothes on their backs, they started shifting through the rubble of the village for anything of use.

After searching much of the destroyed village fruitlessly, they decided that foraging for food in the surrounding forest would be the best use of their time. Relying on their survival skills they gathered enough food to solve their immediate concerns of starvation.

As they ate their meager breakfast, Narumi and Sasuke discussed their next course of action with the same thought in their heads.
