Monster of Grapes

Monster of Grapes

In the peaceful town of Porceland, a monster big enough to swallow a building whole appeared, blocking out the red rays of the evening sun.

It took one look and decided to play God. Carefully, it picked out the nice and plump townsmen from the scrawny ones.

It enjoyed the cries of the children. They were music to its ears. “You can’t!” the child cried. “Mama!” The gigantic monster grinned as it picked up a poor plump woman and stuffed her into its mouth. As it chewed and swallowed, the cries were instantly cut off.

It brought its hand down and picked up another villager--a big fat guy, the baker. The man cried and begged for mercy, but the monster ignored him and bit off the bottom half of the man, leaving him screaming in agony as blood spurted out and stained the monster’s chin.

“Daddy!” The child ran toward the monster. The man, half dead, saw his child and shouted, “No! Get away! Run!”

The child tripped and fell flat on the ground of the town square.

It looked up just in time to see the monster throw the rest of the man into the air and catch him in its mouth.

A deathly scream escaped the child’s mouth in long, ragged pieces until it too was plucked out of the town and popped into the monster’s mouth.

“Mmm, those were so good. Thanks, Mom!” The girl gave a huge smile from her chair at the dining table.

In front of her, a part of a grape vine sat empty on the porcelain plate.
