After passing 2 years living together, Honō and Ross became very close friends, in the start, it was a little awkward for two complete strangers to live together, but after some talking and socializing (mostly done by Ross) they grew a very close friendship between them, and by the curiosity from Honō for magic and spells, and from Ross for the technology and knowledge from other world, they learned many things from one another, Honō and Ross then made a deal, Honō was very good at building mechanic and electrical things, while Ross was very good at making spells and using magic, so Honō would take Ross as his student, and Ross would take Honō as her apprentice. And for two years Honō has been teaching Ross all the knowledge that he has of economy, education, science and a lot more, while Ross teaches Honō the basics of magic, spells, magic creatures, magic items and weapons.

After they had learned everything they knew, they started working together in some projects, and with all the equipment that Honō took from his world, they didn’t have any problem doing those.

Honō: “I finished making the second water wheel, now we should have enough energy to install more machines in the basement.”

Ross: “Alright, by the way. Do you have something to do tomorrow?”

Honō: “Indeed, I think I finished everything for today, so I had planned to go to the market and buy some things. Do you want to come with me?”

Ross: “Sure! What are you buying?”

Honō: “Materials, some magic items I am interested in, maybe talk with Barrack to help me build some batteries…”

Ross looked at Honō like someone would look at a guy trying to build an empire without having money or important connections.

Ross: “And with what money do you plan on doing that? You know that my father only gives us 1000 gold coins every month, and he told me that, because of the current conditions, we need to start paying the weekly tax.”

As I said earlier, they didn’t have any problem building tools and objects, but recently they were lacking the funds to do that, as the materials they need are indeed expensive.

Honō: “So what do you plan on doing? Do you know if there is any job that I can do?”

Ross: “You can join the guild and become and adventurer.”

Honō: “For that I would need a weapon. And I don’t have any.”

Ross: “*Opens a cabinet full of guns and another full of combat knives* And what is this?”

Honō: “But it is hard to build the bullets that I need to fire them.”

Ross: “Then why you take one day every week to mass produce ammunition for every gun?”

Honō: “It’s important to be prepared. But I don’t have any armor.”

Ross: “You have a full SWAT suit made specifically to be bullet proof, and you modified it so it didn’t stand out too much. And you also have a shield rolling over there.”

Honō: “Okay, I give up; I will go in the afternoon after I eat something.”

Ross: “Speaking of eating, what will you make today Honō-Chan?”

Honō: “What about instant noodles?”

Ross: “That would be great!”

After eating, Honō puts on his full body armor, it is made from aluminum, originally it was a SWAT suit that a friend gifted him for Christmas, but after one year in the other world, he redesigned the suit so it looked like a normal medieval-style armor and modified the shield and reinforced both of them with more aluminum plates.

Honō enters the adventurer’s guild, and approaches the receptionist.

Uketsuke: “Hello, welcome to the guild of the royal capital, I am Uketsuke Suzuki, how can I help you?”

Honō: “I am Honō Komura; I would like to become an adventurer.”

The two looked at each other, after looking at one another and connected some dots, they exclaimed:

Honō and Uketsuke: “WAIT, WHAT!?”

Honō: “Fair enough”

Uketsuke: “*Gives Honō a needle* you can do it with this, and don’t worry, it is brand new.”

Honō: “*suddenly starts shivering * a-a-a n-n-needle?”

Uketsuke: “*smiling*Yes.”

Honō takes the needle and tries to puncture his finger, yet he is unable to do it, in that moment Uketsuke stops him while laughing.

Uketsuke: “Alright give me the needle, *laughing* it never gets old to see your fear to needles in action.”

Honō: “*pouting* if it is not necessary to insert a thin object in my body to extract some blood, I won’t do it, but I still need to give you some blood right?”

Uketsuke: “yes.”

Honō takes his knife and punctures himself with it, the wound wasn’t anything severe, but some blood started coming out of it. (By the way, Honō's phobia is only triggered by needles, he only feels uncomfortable using a knife.)

Honō: “This should be enough, right?”

Uketsuke: “yes, *takes a magic glass ball* and now we can see your statistics.”

Honō: “my statistics?”

Uketsuke: “*while putting the blood in the glass ball*This glass ball lets you see your basic stats and also your magic stats.”

Honō: “So what about it?”

Uketsuke: “well, here says that your strength, resistance and agility are very high but…”

Honō: “But what?”

Uketsuke: “Well, as I can see, your magic stats are surprisingly pretty balanced.”

Honō heads back home and is received by a pouting and hungry Ross.

Ross: “Why did you took so long?”

Honō: “It was your idea to become an adventurer.”

Ross: “That is no excuse to come so late.”

Honō: “Alright, I will make something special for dinner as an apology.”

Ross: “*pouts even more*And I expect it is truly delicious.”

Honō: “In my way here I brought some ingredients for a Yakitori.”

Ross: “Please don’t put something spicy in one of those...”

After preparing the Yakitori and eating it, Honō and Ross discussed the schedule that Honō was going to work, and decided that he would work three days a week. And after reaching that agreement they went to sleep.
