In the shadow of the oak tree, and eating cookies with some tea, Ross begins to explain the basics of this world.
Ross: “In this world there are seven types of magic: water, earth, fire, lightning, light, dark and neutral, it also has different levels: Low level magic, Medium level magic, High level magic and Master level magic. Anyone with a basic magic knowledge can use any type of magic, but not all of them have the same affinity with all of them. You can also use a type of magic alone or combine it with other types to create new spells, that’s what we call neutral spells, the higher your affinity with neutral magic, the easier it is to combine magic types or create new spells, when you have a high affinity with one type of magic, you can use subtypes, like metal and ice.”
Honō: “But how can someone use magic? And how does it work?”
Ross: “To use magic you just need to know the concept of what you want to do and then you apply it, the more you study magic, the easier it gets to make the enchantments, and magic works thanks to the Mana, the Mana is everywhere, but there are some places with more Mana condensation, Mana is enhanced by the breathing, that’s why if someone gets out of breath, their quantity of Mana decreases, when you use too much Mana, you will need to get more air or it will be dangerous to keep throwing spells.”
Honō: “Alright, thank you for telling me this, if you want, we can go head to the castle.”
Ross: “I would like to, let’s go.”
After finishing the cookies and the tea, the two of them enter the gates of the town and are received by the local guards, Honō is stopped and is asked who he is and why he is wearing that hood, but Ross explains the current situation.
Guard 1: “Princess Ross, oh thanks by the gods that you are safe.”
Guard 2: “*looking at Honō* Thank you, sir, for protecting the princess, we, the guards that assure this walls, owe you a big favor.”
Honō: “I will keep that in mind, thanks.”
Ross: “Hey Honō, let’s keep going.”
Honō and Ross then kept heading to the castle, it wasn’t that long of a walk, and in no time they are already in the gates of the castle.

Ross: “Please stay here for a moment.”
Honō waits until he is called in the throne room, he enters the room and sees the king sitting in a gold throne, the room was filled with the same banners that are in the gates to the city. But they look way fancier, he stops looking around when the king gets up of his throne and starts talking.
King Oswald: “So I have to assume that you are Honō?”
Honō: “Yes, my full name is Komura Honō, but if you want, just call me Komura.”
King Oswald: “I understand, sir Komura, how can I thank you for saving my daughter? I will do anything.”
Honō: “Your majesty, as you can see, I’m not but a humble man living in a tent east of here, but if you say that you can do anything, I would like a house with a big warehouse to store all my things, can you find me something like that?”
King Oswald: “Right now we have a place with just that description close to here, it also has a water wheel.”
Honō: “Really? I would love to stay there.”
King Oswald: “But it is not in a good state, I will make sure to reconstruct it into a decent state.”
Honō: “I will also help with the reconstruction, so I can make sure this project is finished in no time.”
Ross: “Father, I would like to ask you something.”
King Oswald: “Sure my dear, what do you want?”
Ross: “I would like Komura-san to be my personal guard”
Honō: “Wait what-”
King Oswald: “Well, that would be troublesome, but if sir Komura accepts.”
Honō: “Unfortunately, and as you said, that would be troublesome to me and also to the princess.”
King Oswald: “Don’t worry, after the construction is finished, the princess will live with you.”
Honō: “*Looking confused*…What? Wouldn’t that be dangerous?”
King Oswald: “Don’t worry, that place is close to the back of the castle, and has a passage to get there. It is also close to the southern gates”
Honō: “*sighs* Alright, I will be the personal guard of the princess”
King Oswald: “Then it is decided”
Ross: “Thank you father, I’m grateful of your decision.”
After the meeting with the king, Honō was very stressed about how it turned out.
Honō: “Well, this DIDN’T turn out as I expected, but I can turn it to my favor. Anyway, tomorrow starts the construction of my house, so I need to sleep well tonight.”
He got into his RV, make some dinner and gets in bed. Before going to sleep, he remembered how Ross called him.
Honō: “Komura-san… It kind of sounds cute.”
And with a smile on his face, he sleeps deeply.
