Book 2 Chapter 4 Mythical Legends Stories

Lucky along with a number of players and NPC Soldiers had finally arrived at the City of Silver. They were lead by Jonathan an NPC and Knight Captain under the Chosen. Aaron had sent a message for Jonathan and his knights to help Riclamin Silvershaper restore order to Silver city.

Jonathan had gathered his fellow NPC knights to head for silver city. Jonathan also offered a quest to the players to assist. Many of the players did not believe they could make it due to the high level monsters of the Deathly Isles. Eventually only the higher level players who learned under Jonathan joined.

Lucky was one of the players that had managed to get past Jonathans training. He was able to get up to level 40 through the training during his month of training. He even managed to earn enough coin to purchase some basic armor along with a great sword and battle-axe. His armor was mainly made up of chain maile along with a helmet and chest plate.

The other players also wore similar armor though most of their gear was a mix of parts for different armors. In total there were almost two hundred players that joined the six hundred knights and band of clerics. When they left the city of Laee the players were amazed at how realistic the NPC’s acted with Knights saying goodbye to their family’s and promising that they would come back. The force left the city with cheers.

As they traveled along the road they faced a few small bands of bandits and monsters. Not one knight died in combat but the players were another story. As they traveled a hand full of players died in combat dropping equipment and were forced to stay logged out for a day. Eventually most that died joined back up with the knights when they were able to log back in. over thirty players died on the trip and only twenty one of those players managed to catch back up with them.

Eventually about two thirds of the way to Silver city a message popped up for all the player’s that the war for the deathly isles had started. This event excited them but they became even more worried about what was going to happen.

Lucky was one of a hand full of players that noticed a priestess from the small group of clerics hurried over to Jonathan. If lucky remembered correctly The Priestess was April Rosland from the city’s temple.

Jonathan smiled as he spotted April, “Oh if it isn’t April how may I help you my dear.”

“I just got word from our chosen and the Goddesses.”

“Oh I forgot you clerics could communicate with the Goddesses… did something happen?”

“The chosen was captured by pirate’s almost a week ago but they are now working with the chosen.”

Jonathan rubbed his chin before asking, “so does he need rescued?”

She shook her head, “No he they have joined our chosen and have taken him to his destination though…”

“go on.”

“Aaron has found the chosen Kris but they need assistance the dark lord has invaded.”

Jonathan thought for a moment, “We’ll continue on to Silver city but we need more men. Can you send word to your churches and temples for volunteers well depart from Silver city in just over a week… now how are we going to get ships…”

“The Pirates are sending ships so we’ll be fine on transportation… ill send the word out for volunteers.”

April quickly returned to the other clerics while Jonathan began to give orders to his knights. Lucky watched this with interest while the few other players around him talked to each other in excitement. It took them about four days to get to silver city. Lucky was able to level up to level up over the whole trip making it to level 52.

Lucky was amazed by the view of the old city. It looked like portions of the city and walls were under construction while a large camp was forming around the main gate. The city was about the same size as the city of Laee but had a large port. Lucky could not wait to look around. Riclamin and guard captain of the city met Jonathan and his band at the city gates.

Riclamin smiled as they approached, “welcome to the City of Silver Jonathan, I’m Riclamin.”

Jonathan shook his hand, “Nice to meet you Riclamin.”

“Captain is he able to use the Barracks?”

The guard captain turned to Riclamin.

“There is room since the guard is not staffed as it once was but we are starting to have more men join, but I don’t think all his knights can fit sir.”

As they were talking April walked up carrying her cleric staff.

“Jonathan the first of the ships should also be arriving today.”

“thanks April… oh let me introduce you to Riclamin.”

Riclamin quickly bowed to her pulling off he hat before standing back up and replacing it.

“A pleaser to meet you April.”

She smiled, “its nice to meet you to Riclamin.”

“May I ask what ships are coming?” Riclamin asked.

“We received word that the chosen need our assistance on the northern island so the chosen’s pirate fleet is coming.”

“we still need help here in silver city will you be leaving any of your men here Jonathan?”

“I will leave a squad or two but we most likely will be needing as many men as possible…”

they continued to talk as Lucky and most of the players continued to stream into the city to look around.

Most of Alan’s family had not even heard of the game Mythical Legends but since Alan was now stuck there his family ordered a few gaming units that they were waiting on. But Andrew was the exception since he already owned a basic helmet unit since it was the only one he could afford.

Andrew quickly logged in after shutting the door to his room. The virtual world quickly formed around him. He was sitting in on of his guild’s tents where the rest of his guild officers were waiting. Andrew was the leader of Fury Vanguard that was currently the 9th ranking guild.

“Dread we’ve been waiting for you.” A knight said siting next to a cleric.

He easily recognized the two that had lost to his brother in the tournament.

“Is everyone ready to head out.” He asked

“Yes dread the rest of our guild is ready.” Said Aluora.

Dread looked over to Aluora smiling. She had started out as an elf sorceress but had changed to a summoner. Though she started as a forest elf she had fallen to a Dark elf from a number of things such as her chaotic nature. She had blond hair and white skin when she started but now her skin was a deep tan brown her hair turning metallic silver. Dread had been going out with her since the start of the game and even fought alongside each other in the tournament.

Dread quickly looked around at his officers Aluora was the officer in charge of the summoning, elementals, and taming Division. Next to her was another female with long black hair in a witch’s outfit though both Aluora and her wore revealing outfits. She was in charge of the Mages Division. Sitting on a stool next to her was Halfling tinkering with some tools. He was in charge of the Craftsmen Division though they didn’t truly fight.

Dread looked to his right Standing against the wall stood a human Archer hidden in his cloak. He was in charge of the Archers Division that also had other forms of long-range fighters. The worrier that had first talked to him was in charge of the melee fighters Division his second in command stood next to him. He was a dwarf leaning on a massive war hammer starring angrily at the cowering cleric. The cleric sat next to the warrier in his white robes with his staff leaning against his shoulder. He was in charge of the support Division that healed and buffed the rest of the guild.

The Fury Vanguard had purchased a small guild hall in the capital of the Redstone kingdom but the guild was slowly moving out of the kingdom and out to the north west to escape the war between guilds while gaining more strength and territory. As they’ve traveled they started to farm dungeons for loot and to help raise their members levels. The guild originally started out with just over twenty members after the tournament and has rapidly grown.

They now had over six hundred members and still growing. Most of the members were quickly leveling up due to the dungeon farming with the average player now at level seventy. After farming a dungeon for a week in game time they move on to the next one as they worked their way to the border of the kingdom.

Dread smiled while putting an arm around Aluora’s shoulder.

“We will be heading out to one of the kingdoms near the coast to set up a base of operations.”

The cleric looked up at Dread.

“what are we planning to do there?”

the warrior elbowed him.

“we already discussed this.”

Dread held up a hand to stop him.

“We are planning on taking over the territory and eventually the kingdom.”

“Aren’t we going to go after Aaron?” the Archer asked

“Yes in due time but first we need to build up our forces before we can face him.”

The warrior growled angrily looking at dread.

“As I said before we should attack him now while he is weak.”

The witch shook her head laughing causing everyone to look at her.

“If the information that we’ve gathered about him is true he already owns plenty of territory himself. He also has the support of some group of goddesses though ive never heard of them before.”

The dwarf laughed while he shook his head.

“Gods don’t interfere with anything in this game they have their followers do their dirty work for them.”

Aluora stared at the dwarf in irritation while Dread shook his head.

“I have just learned that he now controls a pirate fleet so his islands are now to defended to reach without building our own fleet.”

The Halfling looked up with a smile on his face.

“we can build anything you wish Dread just give us the needed resources.”

Dread nodded, “And that’s why we need to take control of a kingdom so we can reach him.”

They continued to discus idea’s and make plan’s for another hour. After they finished they left the tent to an open field were their guild member s were gathering and disassembling the camp. When a group of female guild members spotted them they called out to Dread. About a third of the females in the guild had a crush on Dread due to his avatars looks and how he act’s around his guild members irritating a few of the male guild members. As the rest of the guild noticed him they headed over to listen to what he had to say.

Dread cleared his throat before specking.

“We are now heading for the Alter kingdom…”

Kris and Laee sitting on horse looking down from a hill over large fields surrounding a town. Demons were forming up around the town’s perimeter with mot starring right back at the two. Kris and Laee have continued to fight against the demons pushing them back across the island. Its been over a week since Aaron was trapped in the netherworld and they have managed to free multiple towns and regroup with separated forces gathering a few here a hundred there. Now they had found Mot’s main force as they finally crossed a third of the island.

Behind them were almost a thousand cavalry on their horses. To the left and right of their hill were formations of infantry and archers with a number of clerics mixed in among the forces. Above them flew a few fay but there was not many.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

All together Kris and Laee lead just over two thousand troops and volunteers made up of humans and fay while they faced an enemy made up of almost three thousand demons. They looked out over the fields as the demons continued to gather.

Laee whined holding an empty bottle, “I wish I had some mead.”

Kris sighed while grabbing Laee’s bottle and throwing it away, “you don’t need mead and get ready.”

She quickly summoned her large holy hammer.

“Infantry and Archers are to hold position, Cavalry prepare to charge!"

She looked back at her men for a moment before looking forward and raised her hammer.

“Charge!!!”

Kris quickly set her horse into a fast trot down the hill with Laee at her side. The rest of the cavalry followed behind them. They continued to gather speed as they neared the bottom of the hill and out onto the fields.

As they neared the demons forces a wave of arrows flew at them. Kris quickly cast a massive holy barrier while Laee started to launch a number of fireballs at the demons. More then half of the arrows disintegrated on contact with the Barrier but the rest managed to make it through hitting a number of her soldiers. The fireballs crashed into the Demons burning through flesh and sending others flying.

As they drew closer Kris raised her free hand and began casting holy light sending rays of light from her hand into the demons. The light rays cut through those it came into contact with and blinding others that where to close to the light.

Kris readied her hammer as she drew close to the forward demons. She quickly slammed her hammer into the closest demon sending him and another two demons crashing to the ground. She quickly swung her hammer across to her other side as a demon brought a sword up to swing.

Laee continued to launch fireballs into the demons while chanting another spell. The Cavalry then crashed into the demons with lances and swords hacking their way into the demon formation. They continued to force their way into the demon mass until their momentum started to come to a stop.

Kris Yelled to her men, “Fall back!”

Laee finished her chant sending waves through the ground deeper into the demons army. The ground lifted and fell sending demons flying and others into pits that formed in the ground before filling in.

The soldiers quickly broke off from the attack heading back across the fields with the enraged demons running after them. Kris quickly signaled Laee with her free hand and she nodded. They both broke off from each other on heading to the right side of the hill the other to the left the soldiers dividing and following the two.

The archers had climbed the hill and where in position the infantry surrounding the base with a shield wall in place. Kris and Laee slowed their pace as they rounded each sides of the hill with the first demons almost a hundred yards behind them. As they reached the backside of the hill the divided cavalry passed each other with a fee between them.

They finished rounding the hill as the archers began to fire into the demons ranks. Demons began to fall in clumps here and here under the rain of fire. The two groups of cavalry began to pick up pace again as they rounded the edge of the fields.

The first of the demons crashed into the shield wall but did not brake through. The second row of infantry stabbed over the shield wall and their fellow solders into the demon mass. The demons continued to press in on the shield wall causing it to bulge in some areas but still held.

Kris turned her cavalry into the fields almost halfway through the demons spaced forces. She started to cast holy light again burning through the demons. As she neared she readied her hammer. She quickly brought it down on the demon smashing its chest plate in. the cavalry crashed into the demons soon after braking through with lances and hacking away with swords.

Laee turned her forces deeper into the fields as they hit the halfway point in the demons forces. She quickly threw fireballs at the demons in front of her as she began to cast firewall. The soldiers behind her continued to work their way through the demons as Laee finished casting her spell dividing the demons with a massive firewall stretching across the fields. The demons that ran into the firewall quickly began howling in pain as their flesh burned.

Kris finally broke through the demons with her soldiers right behind her. They slowed their pace and began to turn back for another pass behind the hill. Coming to a stop behind the hill they exchanging their tired horses for new ones. The men also quickly drank from their water skins while Kris quickly checked on her infantry.

The infantry and their shield wall were pushed back a few yards with a large pile of demons in front of them while more continued to clime over their comrades. The archers continued to fire arrows in steady waves deeper into the mass of demon. Wounded started to mount as more injured where brought to the backside of the hill to be treated by clerics. Kris looked on sadly but soon was on a horse again heading out for another charge.

Laee continued on through the demons firing fireballs and lightning bolts. She finally made it through the demons along with most her men as Kris was heading in for another charge. She quickly led them around to the backside of the hill to exchange their horses like Kris’s men had. They took a moment to rest and drink water before charging back out into the fields.

They continued to do hit and runs killing almost half the demon forces before the rest were able to break through the firewall. The few remaining from the first half fell back to the demons that broke through. Laee had been preparing for this and was already chanting firestorm.

This time the demons began to work their way forward though the disintegrating dead in a tight formation. As they began to near the hill Laee finished chanting her spell as she joined the infantry. Fire began to rain down from the sky into the demon formation and much of the fields. Demons flew into the air disintegrating or crashing into others around them.

The demon formation quickly fell apart in panic as demons began to back apart into groups running for the forests or town. Mot In the rear began to yell orders at them but they did not listen. He killed on of the demons trying to stop the rest from retreating but they weren’t even paying attention.

Mot yelled in anger before leading the largest retreating mob back towards the town as Kris divided up the Calvary into four to chase after the demons heading for the hills and forests. The Laee ordered over two thirds of the infantry and archers to follower her while the rest were to guard the wounded and tired horses.

As the demons ran clear of the fire storm Laee deactivated her spell allowing her men to cross the field. The demons reaching the town began activating teleportation circles to escape as arrows began to fall on them. As the last of the demons were getting onto the magic circles Mot yelled in anger at Laee.

“You may have won this battle fallen but this will end in our victory for the great lord cannot be defeated!”

Laee watched as Mot vanished with the last of his men before giving orders to search the town for any enemy or survivors. Laee lead the first of her soldiers into the town as Kris joined them. As they entered the town they looked on in sickened at what they found.

Bodies lay here and there disintegrating as they approached. The few survivors that were in the streets were women in rags who had been raped and beaten while a few children walked aimlessly about calling for their parents or staring off at nothing with dead looking eyes. A few men were still alive but barely while one was being held by a woman that was crying.

Kris cried out, “This is sick… I hate demon’s!!!”

Laee put a hand on Kris’s shoulder trying to calm her as their soldiers rushed forward deeper into the town.

Laee quickly ordered the clerics that were with them to treat the wounded. They continued on through the town as their men searched the buildings. Kris and Laee reached the town square finding a pile of disintegrating bodies and townsfolk tied up in groups. Kris and some of the soldiers ran forward to cut the rope off them while Laee contacted the priests back at the hill to send more clerics to the town.

They continued to search the town and help the survivors while destroying the demons magic circles that they found. At the end of the day they new the numbers, half of the town was either dead or taken as slaves. they lost almost four hundred soldiers to the demons while another two hundred were injured. The demons lost over half of their forces while more continued to be hunted as they continued to flee.

Siting at a table in one of Redstone’s taverns at the capital Kevril Falconsflight a warrior and Merlin Wizardsblood a Halfling wizard were looking at their guild windows with some books along papers on the table. Merlin was looking over the finances and guild inventory while Kevril looked over the guild member’s levels and available stats.

Kevril nodded as he finished reading the list.

“Looks like everyone in the guild has finally completed the dungeon.”

“That’s good to hear…” Merlin continued to look at his window while jotting down notes.

“We also have managed to get everyone leveled up to at least seventy five.”

Merlin looked over to Kevril who was now tacking a sip of ale.

“All two hundred members? That’s suppressing I thought the newer members were around level fifty or so.”

“just remember how difficult that dungeon was.”

“That means everyone has one of the rings now.”

Kevril nodded slipping his ring off.

Ring of the Sentinels:

A ring given to the Goddesses peacekeepers after their first Pilgrimage trials.

Goddess’s blessings

+200 Mana Laee’s Blessing

Divine Health +200 Health Kris Blessing

Spell sword x2 Agility Kraet’s Blessing

Elven Heightened Senses Elyse Blessing

Beast Enhanced Strength Loraaga

Holy Demonic Smite – deal double damage once a day Enae’s Blessing

Kevril put the ring back on as he thought about the other items they found. Besides the rings they also received plenty of loot and gold from the dungeon monsters along with the books and papers that were now on the table.

The books could not be read currently do to the ancient language and codes used but were believed to hold the history of the Sentinels or even skills. The papers had riddles and maps of where to find other trials and ancient strongholds.

Merlin closed his window while finished the last of his notes.

“Looks like we have around ten thousand gold… we could probably afford a guild hall now.”

Merlin looked over to Kevril who was shaking his head.

“I don’t think we should right now, we still need to learn more about the Sentinels and meet up with Aaron.”

Merlin began putting a few of the books and papers back in his bag.

“well if we do that we’ll need supply’s, transportation… well we don’t really even know where to go next.”

Kevril grabbed one of the papers off the table as Alimore Serpenthelm a cleric and Marcella Dawntracker a elven archer walked in talking excitedly to each other. They quickly spotted Kevril and Merlin and headed for their table.

Marcella grabbed he a bow off her back and set it on the table smiling.

“With all the gold I earned from the dungeon I decided to get a new bow.”

Kevril looked over the bow, “looks nice does it have any abilities or special features.”

She shook her head sadly.

“No not really just better durability and higher damage rate… I couldn’t really afford the better bows.”

Marcella set the bow next to her chair before putting a hand on Alimore’s shoulder.

“But Alimore her got a great deal on some gloves.”

Alimore’s face turned bright red as she handed the gloves to Merlin. He used identify on it and whistled.

Holy Gloves:

Cleric gloves that lower the mana costs for holy magic’s and doubles healing spells health generation.

“nice find!” Merlin handed the gloves back to her.

Marcella turned back to Kevril who was looking at one of the papers.

“find anything?”

They all looked at Kevril as he handed the paper to her.

“look’s like the next trial dungeon is in Alter.”

Alimore looked up trying to remember something, “isn’t that a long ways from her.”

Kevril nodded, “it’s a country or two away but not to far away.”

Marcella, “when do we leave?”

Kevril, “not for another week or so.” He turned to Merlin, “do you know anything about the country.”

Merlin pushed up his glasses, “not much is known yet about the Alter kingdom but I have heard that the Fury Vanguard have crossed its border and are starting to set up camp.”

Marcella, “you mean one of those big time guilds?!”

“You can say that since they are currently ranked as the ninth largest and possibly one of the stronger guilds out there.”

Alimore began to look worried, “Aren’t they known for farming and searching for dungeons?”

Kevril looked down at the paper as Merlin looked over some his guild notes.

“Yes they are quite well known for farming… that might not go well if they find our dungeon.”

Kevril nodded, “we’ll need to be careful with them.”
