The next morning, after hours of awkward walking, Mooncaster finally sighs and asks "Why didn't you ever tell me about this magic you've been hiding?"

Kuro flinches a little and looks down "I..." he sighs before finally saying "I've only told one person outside of the village of holy temples and...well let's just say he takes advantage of it a lot"

"You told Vlad!? When did you tell that conceited abusive jerk?" he counters twirling around to stare right at Kuro whose ears flicked down.

"It was back when we first got together before he got...you know" he says "I didn't think he would ever hurt me or use it to control me"

"But why didn't you ever tell ME!? Did you think I'd hate you for it or something?" he asks hurt that his best friend never told him.

Kuro looks away, ears down and Martha touches Mooncaster's shoulder as she speaks "Give him a break...even if in his heart, he knew that you wouldn't, his mind was probably scared that you would...based solely on what little I know, he must have been scared about how you'd react based on all the past reactions he received because of this power he has"

Mooncaster looks down before sighing "I'm sorry Kuro...I didn't mean to snap at you. I just....wish you'd have trusted me with this secret so I could have understood it all better"

Kuro smiles lightly "It's alright"

It's at this point that they are attacked by Vlad and his henchmen. Kuro hisses as they all group together, prepared to fight but Vlad has Martha in his grip.

Mystery man stiffens prepared to attack if he tries to hurt her, still completely invisible.

"What do you want, Vlad?" Kuro snarls, glaring at his ex-boyfriend.

Vlad laughs "What do I want? I want the book she has"

"What?" Martha asks "I don't have the book!"

Vlad looks toward one of his henchmen who walks forward and with no warning, plunges his hand directly into her chest, almost as if his hand was a ghost's hand. The guy is whispering something as he slowly starts to remove his hand. Martha screams in pain and Kuro touches his chest feeling her pain. He uses his dark magic straight through Martha's body to blast the guy away from her, forcing his hand fully out of her in seconds however the book, they were hunting down was now in the guys hands. Vlad throws Martha over an edge they were near.

"MARTHA!" Kuro shouts as Vern dashes off the cliff to catch her, coming back up and placing her onto the ground.

"Hahahaha! With this, I'll finally be the true ruler of this world!" Vlad cackles evilly.

"Like hell you will!" Aussie growls attacking and the fight started. Mooncaster went after Vlad while Kuro and Tim tag-teamed two others. Martha watches as Malada ties people up with magic although it only looks like she's tied them up with nothing. Martha smiles and joins her using her strings as best as she could, feeling completely able to be herself around her group of friends. Aussie and Vern both take on several other people, taking their fights to the sky and water.

At first it looked like the battle would be won with only a few bruises but then Vlad is about to kill Martha. They all stare, horrified at this, all of them knows that none of them would be able to reach her but a glowing purple string flashes out and ties itself around Vlad's arms and legs as the mystery man appears, slowly approaching the now tied up Vlad.
