Chapter 64: How hard can it be to buy a sword?

After taking a quick shower, Yuki had lunch with Emilia before he decided to go out, he wanted to test his new skill Dark slash, but he needed a secluded place for that. He also wanted to buy a good sword and store it inside his ring for future use…

After thinking for a while, he decided to first go see if he could find a good sword first. His current wealth was almost 2 million yens so he wasn't worried about not being able to afford it… confident as always.

So, he quickly checked on the internet for any close shops that sell swords and he found three in total that were fairly close by. Two were in Chiyoda city, this is the same city Akihabara was located at. As for the last one, it was in Shinjuku.

After memorizing the locations and names of the shops, Yuki adjusted his appearance and said to Emilia "Emi, I'm going out for a bit, see you later"

Emilia stared at him slightly while lamenting 'Soon I can go out as well…' as she felt her recovered magic before she nodded at him "Take care"

….

Yuki's first destination was Chiyoda since it had Two shops. The first one was called Ginza Seiyudo. After entering, Yuki was greeted by the receptionist "Welcome si-" or at least she tried as she ended up freezing when her eyes landed on him…

Yuki was used to this behavior so he ignored her and walked inside and started calmly looking at the swords covering the walls of the huge store and their various displays…

"Can I observe them more closely?" asked Yuki a worker since he wanted to pick up the swords and check them more closely. However, the worker was reluctant to say yes despite this being allowed in their shop…

"S-sure" replied the worker while inching ever so slightly away from Yuki who was grinning happily like a little kid that was offered his first toy, although that smile put everyone on the shop on their nerves as they were afraid that Yuki might decide to test the sharpness of the swords on them at any time…

"How much is this one?" Asked Yuki, holding a katana with a blue handle, and he even used his finger to test its sharpness. Although it disappointed him slightly since it couldn't pierce his skin...

"Sir, that is 750000 Yen" Said the worker, and Yuki couldn't help but frown "Are you serious? That much for a piece of crap?"

"Sir each sword here is of high quality and very aesthetically pleasing, it's a fair price" Replied the worker with a slight frown, but Yuki didn't care and simply said "Can I see the best sword here? I don't care much about beauty, I care about how sharp and durable it is"

'I can see that you don't care about beauty' thought the worker before he led Yuki to a certain wall that had only a few swords and handed one to him, it had a black handle and was quite beautiful

"This sword is made by the legendary swordsmith Yoshindo Yoshihara himself, it's a very rare piece to come by" said the worker to hype up the sword, and Yuki was indeed tempted especially when he did the finger test and felt some slight pain on his finger when he kept increasing the force.

"Indeed, this sword is definitely amazing, how much is it? I will buy it!" said Yuki confidently and for the first time since he entered the shop, the worker finally found him pleasing to the eye as he said "Sir, this one is 10 million yen"

Yuki thought he heard wrong so he asked "say again, how much was it?"

"10 million yen sir" Replied the worker confirming to Yuki the ridiculous price of this sword, but there was no change to his face as he shamelessly put on an admiring look before he said

"I see, this sword is indeed worthy of this price, but it's slightly out of my price range, I will have to think about it further before I make up my mind"

"You are always welcome here dear sir" Replied the worker politely believing what Yuki said… unfortunately for him, just like the ghost floating around Yuki, he will never hear or see him again as he ran away from this shop as it was cursed…

"Sigh… The price is a bit too much, I might not find a good sword at this rate… Why didn't I get a blacksmith talent..." Muttered Yuki as he went to the next shop completely ungrateful for what he gained so far and he found the situation pretty similar to this one…

"Fine, let's check out Shinjuku, if I don't find anything there as well, I will just buy a cheap one and change it in the future if I find a better one, or maybe I should ask Emilia to get me one from Ente Isla..." muttered Yuki as he made his way to Shinjuku.

The shop's name was Aoi, and it didn't take long for Yuki to reach it. Something he noticed right away is that different from the fancy shops he just visited, this one had a more traditional style and it only had one attendant which was a middle-aged man…

"Welcome" Said the man after staring at Yuki for a while who didn't have much hope in finding a good sword for an affordable price…

"Do you have any good swords that are not above 5 million yen" asked Yuki going straight to the point and the middle-aged man stared at him for a while before he said "We do" before he explained to him the layout of the shop.

The swords were separated in value bellow 1 million, were in one display wall, between 1 – 2 million were in one and so one…

"Oh, old man, how come the swords here are of better quality than the ones in Chiyoda!" exclaimed Yuki as he picked up a sword from the below 1 million yen display yet he felt like it was similar in quality to the ones worth more than 3 million in Chiyoda!

The man snorted at Yuki calling him old man and at what he said after before he replied "Don't compare us to those shops, they sell memorabilia, we sell swords!"

Yuki could see a certain sharpness in his eyes and a grin couldn't help but find its way to his face "I see" he replied and kept checking the swords until he ended up in front of a display that didn't have a price tag with only two swords on it, after Yuki picked one of them up and did his finger test with it. Surprisingly the sword easily pierced his finger which shocked Yuki!

and just as he was about to pick the other one to see if it was the same. The guy suddenly held his hand and said "These are not for sale"

Yuki paused and kept staring at the two swords eerily, they had a simple design with a wooden handle, thin blades, and weren't too long… and more importantly, incredibly sharp!

Then, Yuki stared at the hand that was holding his own before he turned to the shop owner and said eerily "Why?"

The middle-aged man felt a chill while looking at Yuki's green eyes from a close distance and couldn't help but let go of his hand

'What? I'm actually scared of a boy?' the middle-aged man was startled before he quickly regained his composure and said " No reason, all you need to know is that these swords are only for display"

Yuki was intrigued by the man's behavior and couldn't help but feel more and more interested in those swords "Old man, why are you acting like this, they are just swords"

The shop owner's eyes narrowed at this before he said "a man who doesn't respect the sword do not deserve to wield it"

Hearing him, Yuki couldn't help but let out a loud laugh "Old man are you crazy? How did you say that with a straight face hahhahaha"

The old man had veins popping out of his forehead and he felt like shopping the little nightmare in front of him to pieces for making fun of him, but he held himself back and said "A foul who doesn't understand the way of the sword, ignorance is a bliss indeed"

Yuki felt his pride of a 1-week swordsman hurt slightly so he seized his laughter and said "Say that again"

"You heard me right the first time" replied the guy with a smirk seeing that he somehow annoyed the ghost in front of him… but he didn't know that a ghost's vengeance isn't something to be trifled with!

"Fine then old man, how about we make a bet?" said Yuki with an evil grin and the man glared at him while saying "Stop calling me an old man, and what bet are we talking about?"

"It's simple, we will spare using two wooden swords, and the first to land a proper hit on the other person is the winner" The man nodded and Yuki continued " If I win, I get these two swords, if I lose, I will give you 2 million yen, what do you think?" said Yuki and the man calmly replied "I don't need your money, I want you to kneel and apologize for dirtying the sword with your blood"

"Oh…" The shop owner noticed that something suddenly changed around Yuki as his easy-going attitude completely vanished from his face and he looked at him coldly "You think your two swords are worthy of me to kneel"

'This kid… he's different, even his voice changed slightly' thought the shop owner who didn't understand that he hit one of Yuki's soft spots, he dared to touch his pride…

"It seems I will have to teach you a lesson, get us two swords" said Yuki and the shop owner stared sharply at him before he started moving to the back of the shop while saying "Follow me"

The shop owner lead him to what appeared to be a typical sword training room, then he picked up two wooden swords from a wooden rack and threw one of them to Yuki.

Yuki swung it a few times before he said coldly "Are you ready?"

"I'm" replied the man as he readied himself into a stance and they immediately started their fight…

After exchanging a few attacks, the man was surprised by how skilled and strong Yuki was 'amazing, it seems like this kid trained before despite his appearance… but it's not enough!' Thought the old man as he began attacking aggressively but Yuki easily countered his attacks every time

'This guy is far stronger and faster than a normal human, I need to end this fast' thought Yuki who wasn't going all out at first but he decided to change his mind and the man was caught by surprise by the huge increase in speed and strength and barely dodged Yuki's attack

"It seems like I underestimated you kid, you almost got me… This is good, I haven't had a proper fight in a while" said the man with a grin and Yuki felt something gushing out of him and empowering his body, it was a demonic aura similar to Hilda's.

"Who are you?" Asked Yuki with a frown, and the man took another sword stance as he said "My name is Sai Kunieda, what's yours kid?"

"Yuki Chibana, let end this in the next move" said Yuki with a cold look in his eyes and Sai seemed to agree as his eyes sharpened and replied "Just what I intended"

They both readied themselves before they attacked at the same time!

Yuki saw how the strange demonic aura around Sai was compressed into his sword before he did a very fast slash and memorized it before he simply said in his mind 'Dark slash!'
