Soon a massive Castle came into view and later became obvious that it was their goal confused John mentioned this to Bete wondering why it had been called a manor. Laughing at the minor misunderstanding Bete happily explained that the Twilight Manor was the name of the castle and that it was something of a joke amongst the Loki Familia and that most people are either shocked or confused by the size discrepancy upon seeing it for the first time. Smiling in understanding he realized that this was every much in line with what he knew of Loki, that she/he liked to make jokes out of peoples expectations and some times perceptions all to encourage people to think and be more mindful. Turning to Bete John asked if this was the normal way that Loki sought out new Familia or if this was something more exceptional trying to mentally prepare himself to some degree for what may come.

Nodding as if he understood how this prospect was thinking Bete was sure he would need to learn his name and remember it as they were very similar in a few ways. Yeah this is kind of normal with Loki she tends to test people in that she watches how people behave and tries to see how she can help them grow although she seems rather impressed with how that mock battle went having heard how you trained though it makes more sense that you did so well the person that trained you made it so you would be ready to face almost anything that people might throw at you... Almost like he expected you would need to fight people more than monsters Bete said allowing suspicion to color his voice a little.

Picking up on the fact Bete clearly thought it odd to train to fight people rather than monsters John thought a moment before addressing the oddity. I come form a place where the closest thing to an actual monster that we normally had to deal with was a diseased animal but there were people that more likely to be a threat to someone and more likely to be encountered. I supposed in some ways that could be considered an ideal place to live but it just felt like there was something not quite right so when I found out about Orario was some where significantly different and it was possible to get here I figured it may be a very good place to try to start the next chapter of my life. I said hoping that I made sense to Bete.

I had no desire to have any conflicts with the people I would likely work with at some point or other. Before long we had entered the castle and Bete had guided me to a set of ornate and beautiful set of double doors carved with depictions of what one might consider Loki's history before I could really examine it Bete brought me back form my observations telling me that through these doors Loki was waiting for me and that I should probably join them since I had so much potential and that there were few that could offer me the same kind of resources to help me get stronger. Nodding I said that I would be more than happy to and that I hoped to catch up to him in level quickly so that we could have more conversations like this one instead of finding ourselves at odds because we don't really know or understand each other that well yet.

I quickly went through the double doors allowing them to close behind me. I was now in a very nice office/study with one minor oddity it had one of those odd couches that you laid on commonly associated with traditional images of psychologist but it seemed wider than one might expect. I spotted Loki behind the desk going over what must have been notes of some kind before she gestured for me to sit on the couch. Figuring that I might as well try to be comfortable as I reasonably could be I sat down much like I had sat down in my Kenjutsu masters house making sure to use proper posture instead of just slouching. It was not long before Loki finished what she was doing.

She moved around the desk and closer till she was standing infront of me. Standing up with a smile I reached forward bending my elbow to ninety degrees appearing to offer a handshake in modern society but intending something slightly different and of a old and near forgotten tradition on earth. before Loki could grasp my hand I spoke. Marry met Loki. I would be happy to join your Familia and have the chance to actually know you and not just some almost forgotten legends. I figured this might throw Loki for a bit of a loop and might allow me to hint at where I had really come form. Realizing what he had said I froze for a few seconds before I mirrored what he had done and grasped his bicep and reached around his shoulder with my other arm and pulled him into a hug which he returned with some enthusiasm.

I could not help but ask him what he meant by almost forgotten legends. I knew when I and the others where driven from earth it was likely that our peoples would forget but had no idea how much or how fast Loki thought to herself. the next few hours I wound up giving Loki a bit of a history lesson and explaining the differences between the Vikings and pirates which I suppose do have some similarities but are very different for a number of reasons. Eventually getting to the modern age and how things are supposed to be and that in some parts of the world that it is still best to blend in with what the public believes to be normal or accepted because of corruption or just living in an isolated area that still holds old or out dated ideals.

I did not however tell her much about myself or that I was a "witch" before and had been one to learn what I could when I could find books that where supposed to have information and by reading between the lines with works of fiction by authors that either had written books that fell into the first group or where related to such people in an attempt to learn anything that might have some meaning that would change my life.

After awhile Loki asked me to show her my back so she could up date my stats so I turned away and lifted my shirt after a few seconds of hesitation revealing a scared back and the bindings that I used to keep my breasts hidden. I heard some muttering from Loki and then a quite gasp as if she had seen some thing alarming or exceptional to an extreme. After a few seconds and feeling a little uneasy I asked if something was wrong, Loki quickly pressed a piece of paper about the width of the average persons back and neary the length of my back.

Running a hand over the paper and my back then muttering a word before showing me my stats and explaining that there where seven stats and that normally each one started at I and capped out at sss before you had to level up upon receiving her blessing and being granted falna my stats were already maxed out for a level 1 and that I could level up now if I wanted that my foundation was already as strong as I could make it and that though I leveled up would lose a few ranks in my stats and would be able to improve them further before I leveled up again. Not really understanding the importance of what she said I told her to go ahead and level me up so she did.
