So he was aware that if he played his cards right he could have a mentor like Sakonji Urokodaki, that is if he didn't fuck up.

[Tanjiro invited you up to the mountain that led up to his home, you accepted readily, already prepared for the gory scene ahead, Tanjiro excitedly told you all about his family as you walked, everyone invluding his mother Koe Kamado, his brothers Takeo Kamado, Shigeru Kamado, Rokuta Kamado and his two sisters Hanako Kamado and Nezuko Kamado. The more he talked the more guilty you felt, for unknown to him his preciious family was being murdered by the original demon Kibutsuji Muzan, all he would have left was his sister and she got transformed into a Demon]
"No seems like I have to risk it. It's just a simulation anyway. I could always come back if it doesn't work out. With that in mind, let's hurry up."
[You told Tanjiro that you sensed danger and grabbed him as you began to run up the mountain in a rush, as if on cue or conjured a snowstorm suddenly appeared nonetheless you used you perception to accurately navigate through with Tanjiro still not understanding the urgency of the matter two-third up the mountain a scream was heard, hearing this Tanjiro panicked and raced ahead while you followed closely behind while silently using the Weapon Ticket(F rank) and removing a long katana from within the inventory]
[Reaching the precipe, you saw a young lady running towards you and Tanjiro, immediately you knew it was Nezuko along with the youngest sister Hanako, behind them were the three other brothers Takeo, Shigeru, Rokuta, unfortunately their mother Koe was not seen, hurriedly you held the hilt of your katana as you gripped it's sheath. Tanjiro was panicking badly as he hugged his siblings, it turns out that the screaming had been done by Haruko, when the unknown man had killed their mother, Tanjiro wanted still wanted to go fetch his mother but you knew better than for him to do that, you gripped his shoulder and smacked him across the face to calm him down, only you knew the monster up there lying in wait, the only options were to wait until sunrise or wait for Giyu Tomioka, you coordinated them to hurry down the mountain you constantly look back, for the fear of Muzan guving chase, you ran for 20 minutes straight, with the childern getting tired, you decided to carry Hanako and Rokuta]
[You finally reached the bottom of the mountain. Hopefully the snowstorm would slow Muzan down, you breathed a sigh of exhaustion. But a blurry figure in the snowstorm drew your attention]
"How could he be so fast?" John wondered, if at least a little the snowstorm should have covered their tracks, unless....
[You quickly examined all the children, and you saw that Nezuko had hidden a small gash on her upper arm, The Blood was what must have guided Muzan down the mountain]
"Hah, I should have considered that."
[You and Kamado's picked up the pace again, after all the constant running it was almost sunrise. You noticed a figure ahead, as you got closer it seemed to be a man wearing a modern suit of black with a white tie. You stopped and told the Kamado's to return, at the sight of the man Tanjiro tried to attack seeing the fear of the man in his siblings he could naturally assume that the man was the supposed enemy, you reasoned with him, telling him to focus on his younger one's while you fought the man to buy them time to escape. Tanjiro cried as he escaped with his family but all you did was give him a smile]
