Let me start with a question. Are you happy, or unhappy with your life? Have you always been this way, or did something change you, your way of thinking? Do you… want to be this way? For many, this is the way that they live, accepting their fate, and living with the cards that they were dealt, whether that be Good, or bad, Lively or mundane, Vibrant or colorless. Well, this is my story, and what I chose to do with my life, and the cards I was dealt.
Daniel was a guy like any other. He grew up an average kid, average grades, average friend group, and even into his adult life. After doing what he had to for school, he got an average office job at a paper company, an average salary, and well, he never really deviated from this way of thinking, the only real special thing about him was that he liked video games, and to play RPGs in his free time. He thought about doing something different, about going out of his normal every day life to pursue something greater, but he felt as though he had no option to keep doing what he had been. It was, after all, the sole thing he was pressured into feeling his whole life. 'Do what the other kids are doing', or 'Just do your job and do it right'.. Its what he's been taught to do, ever since he had started school, and so his life was built around getting by, doing whatever was easiest to get by, but never working too hard, or too little. That lingering desire to do something that was unusual persisted, though it was never called upon and sated.
Today was a day like any other, the sky was overcast, it had rained slightly earlier, but it hadnt soaked everything just yet. Dan was on his way to work, his everyday commute to his workplace was relatively danger-free, aside from the usual dark alleyways and open manholes, though, even if he was dead set on being average for the rest of his life, the world was not. The overcast clouds began to spark and build up, becoming heavy and dark. You know how people say that it's a 1 in 1.2 million chance to get struck by a bolt of lightning in a thuderstorm? Well, today, at least for Daniel here, that chance was 100%.
It was as sudden as a blink, when Dan opened his eyes again, everything was dark and cramped, a clausterphobic's worst nightmare. Dan pushed on his tight surroundings, feeling the sides give way to his pressure, and as if this was the first time he had seen the outside world, he pushed out of his captivity and opened his eyes to view the world…
As my fresh new eyes were exposed to the dark overcast skies, and the frigid air, I was taken aback. As far as I know, I had just been.. No wait… I can’t remember what I was even doing before… this. All I know was that he was previously a human, my body being overcome with pain right before opening my eyes and waking up inside the, well, what seems to be an egg. Being a former human, I looked over my body, I was both scared and confused, but oddly calm at the same time, my body was light blue and scaly, my hands were replaced with what looked like almost circular elephant-like paws, the padded portion, which covered the entire bottom of my paw, was dark blue, and seemed fatty. Each of my front paws ended with three toes, as well as a forth one which I could move much like a thumb. As I reacted to all of this new information, my once standing egg toppled over, making me come into contact with the ground with a crash.

I was certain that this was not my body, that it was abnormal for me to be this way, this was definitely not human, but for some reason, I felt completely okay with this, whether it be because I was internally coping, or that this new existence made me think that he was supposed to be like this. Speaking of which, something that I noticed not far after falling, that I could see far… more than I could before. As I looked around, I took notice of something my new body made seem like was completely normal. I had five heads! Each one connected to an almost serpent-like neck!
I took a moment to get used to seeing out of five different pairs of eyes, but it was easier than I thought it would be, after all, this body was built for the five heads, every part of the Hydra’s body built up over hundreds and thousands of years.. Right? At least that’s what I’m assuming. I took this moment to crawl all the way out of my shell. The first thing that hit me was the damned cold, but I was too curious, I wanted to see what I looked like.
In total, I am what seems like a Hydra. I have five heads, all of them have a reptilian snoot and two horns on each head. For some reason, I think my ears are inside of my horns, I’m guessing so they’re protected, but its still something I’m gonna have to get used to. Down my blue serpentine necks is a darker blue layer that has thicker scales. They are pretty strong, but about as strong as the rest of my body, just somewhat stretchy so I can move easier. This scaling continues down my chest, belly, and all the way to the tip of my tail. My legs are pretty stubby, the only thing I an really compare them to is an elephant’s legs and feet, stubby and ending with a rounded foot, the aforementioned three fingers, and a thumb-like finger that I can grab things with, all ending in sharp black claws, but since I’ll be walking on all fours most of the time, it’s gonna be somewhat useless. Since I’m assuming I’m a type of dragon, I thought that I would have wings, but as of right now, I don’t have anything there, just some rounded spikes running down my back for the moment.
I looked up and around, taking notice of my surroundings. I was in what looked like a Coniferous forest, pine trees everywhere, and snow plastering the ground. The area that I hatched in was no cakewalk either, as far as I know, I’m on a mountain, judging by the sheer verticality of my surroundings, and the little plateau the nest seemed to have been built on. My mother is, well, clearly nowhere in sight. Im not sure if she’s off getting food or something like that, but I don’t want to stick around if she’s gonna go all mama bird on me, so first things first, climb down and make sure to find Shelter, water, and food, in order of priority. My body seems pretty fatty right now, so I dont need to worry about food for a little longer than usual, but damn, I’m not gonna last out here if I dont find somewhere to warm up soon.-
