Chapter 3

Opening his eyes, Ekia found himself lying against Levi who held him lightly. It made Ekia feel warm, comfortable and safe. Slowly sitting up Ekia realized that he was wearing a large shirt that was really big, making him realize how tiny he was. Pulling one of the sleeves up, the other one only fell down. Giving up, Ekia began looking around the room. There was another bed where William and Coles were sleeping, lying in opposite directions with pillows between them. Near the partially opened window was Lucus, his hair shining brightly in the moonlight. Silently Ekia pulled himself to the edge of the bed before carefully sliding down off the bed. Landing softly with a patti, Ekia began to make his way to the door.

“Where do you think you are going?” Lucus asked with a yarn. “Don’t you remember the contract you signed?”

“No!” Ekia replied as he looked down at the ground, holding tightly to the shirt.

“Get back up here, you need your sleep!” Levi stated charmingly but also sternly.

“But I am not tired!” Levi stated annoyed since he was fully awake.

“Just get up here!” Levi stated, loosening the charm.

“Fine!” Ekia stated silently as he made his way back to the bed and tried to climb up only to realize he couldn't.

His foot just kept on missing the side of the bed so that he could pull himself up. Being lifted up from under his arms, Ekia was placed onto the bed. Looking back he saw that Lucus was standing there, slightly smiling down at him.

“You don’t want to make him upset!” Lucus stated before turning away, heading back to the window.

Sitting down Ekia allowed Levi to pull him over before displaying a screen. It had a bunch of writing and graphics on it but Ekia was unsure what it was about.

“We’ll get the equipment in the morning so I’ll explain what this is to you simply!” Levi stated before increasing the size of the screen. “This here shows your stats including sleep, exercise, health and more. This section shows them in columns and the text below are tips which assist in ways to improve!”

Ekia found himself staring at the screen blankly, still not understanding how it works.

“As I was saying, it says you need to sleep!” Levi continued firmly before making Ekia lay down and get comfortable.

“How does that actually work?” Ekia asked silently.

“Because I am the party leader, I have access to all my team members' data. That's all you really need!” Levi stated. “Now sleep!”

Closing his eyes, Ekia waited for sleep to come but it didn’t, not even a bit.

“This should help!” Lucus stated.

Feeling something soft touched his face, Ekia quickly drifted off. Waking up he saw that he was alone in the room and it was very quiet. Sitting up on the bed Ekia slid off the bed before carefully making his way to the window, grabbing one of the curtains, he pulled it open. Trying to pull himself up, he couldn’t help but feel annoyed with how small he was, making it harder to do certain things. Searching around, the only thing that Ekia could use was the pillows as there were no boxes or other solid items. Grabbing the closet pillow Ekia dropped it onto the ground before placing it under the window. Doing it with the other three pillows, Ekia unsteadily climbed up them before sitting on the window still. Looking out of the window, the view was amazing. He was so high up that he could see the crowds on the streets and the many different stores. Seeing a handle Ekia grabbed it and pushed, it was a bit difficult to open. The air felt so amazing and delicious but also cold. Carefully peeking down, he saw that Luna and Mia were standing there, talking with their hands full. Leaning forwards a bit more, Ekia wondered what they were talking about but they were too quiet. Hearing a bang from somewhere Ekia gripped the window tightly before looking in the direction of the noise. ‘Do they have guns here?’ Ekia thought before realizing how stupid that was considering there didn’t seem to be any advanced weapons nor attachments. Taking a closer look at those passing by, it was clear with all the people either having swords, staffs, sticks or other items. Being lifted up Ekia was confused, not sure how someone got here. Being placed down onto the ground, Ekia turned around to see that Luna was standing there huffing and puffing.

“Are you an utter idiot?” Luna stated sternly. “Don’t you dare do that again or you might die next time!”

“Oh!?” Ekia replied, realizing how dangerous it was. “Sorry!”

“Can’t trust you being alone, you are coming with me!” Luna said before dragging Ekia out of the room, locking it behind them.

As Luna walked, Ekia had to put in some effort to keep up with her long strides. He wasn’t able to look around incase of tripping. Reaching the stairs Ekia bumped into Luna, he was surprised that she had stopped.

“We will go down slowly so be careful!” Luna stated before she began going down.

Following her, Ekia managed to go down the stairs. Strangely it was easy, especially how lightly he took them. Reaching the next landing Ekia looked up and was surprised to see that Luna looked exhausted. ‘Does she have less energy after being out for a while or something?’ Ekia thought.

“Just one more staircase to go!” Luna stated before pulling Ekia along again.

As Luna was getting slower, Ekia was able to look around. There were a bunch of different photos and painting; of people and animals. There were also a few tables with flowers on them, they had many different colours and smells. The floor was made of wood and had a dark blue carpet on top, also many doors with numbers on them. The hallway was empty and quiet. ‘Are these walls soundproof or something?’ Ekia thought, slightly amused. He had heard of places where the walls were thin and you could hear everything.

“We are here!” Luna proclaimed before she began walking down the stairs.

Seeing that he would have to go down by himself, Ekia held onto the banister. His hand just getting a good grip, Ekia began to slowly go down. It was oddly harder than before as he had to make sure he had a firm footing before continuing. Upon reaching the bottom floor, Jack felt slightly exhausted.

“You did good!” Luna stated before taking Ekia’s hand and pulling him along again.

Heading to the entrance they were met by Mia who was waiting.

“So we got to babysit this idiot?” Mia asked, clearly not happy with the thought.

“Can’t risk him doing something stupid again and getting killed, Levi would lose it!” Luna stated firmly. “So what shall we do now?”

“We will get him something small to eat then walk around until the others contact us!” Mia sweetly stated before leading the way out.

Keeping close to Luna, Ekia did his best to avoid getting lost or separated since his view was mostly hindered by the people around him. Noticing that there was a lot of space around Ekia felt calm and safe, there was less chance for him to get squished. The further they walked, the smell of delicious food was making Ekia hungry causing him to feel distracted. Bumping into something, Ekia found himself sitting on the dried dirt ground, coughing as dust flew in the air.

“What a disgusting beast. Heh, no master guess I can beat the shit out of you and make you work to repair my clothes!” a cruel, gruffed male voice said.

Looking up, Ekia found himself staring up at a medium-sized man with a profound belly. He was wearing a fantasy dark blue suit which strained at the buttons and a thick black maschut. The man had a cold air surrounding him, making Ekia shiever. Getting to his feet, Ekia hid behind Luna to keep his distance.

“Please leave us alone!” Mia said sweetly, standing in front of Luna. “You two get moving, I’ll handle this!”

“Right!” Luna said before taking Ekia’s hand and pulling him along. “Don’t look back!”

As they walked quickly away, they were soon engulfed by the crowd before Mia joined them smiling.

“Shall we get something to eat?” Mia asked sweetly.

“Yes please!” Ekia said, drooling.

“Guess you're really hungry!” Luna said, wiping some silvia off of Ekia’s mouth.

As they walked Ekia found himself placed between the two of them to prevent another accident from happening. As the crowd began to get bigger, he found himself being squished between them. It wasn’t comfortable, causing Ekia to feel hot and difficult to breathe. When he couldn’t move, Ekia began to panic, realizing that he might suffocate in this situation. Pulling on Luna’s skirt, he hoped that she could do something to get him out of this situation before he realized she was also struggling.

“Watch it!” Mia said harshly as someone was shoved roughly into her.

“We need to get out of this!” Luna said weakly.

Finding himself being pulled forwards, his hand slipped out of Luna’s. Finding himself on the ground, Ekia tried to struggle up only to be knocked down again as someone tread on his hand. Feeling someone tread roughly on his back Ekia went face first onto the dirt making it impossible to breath and hurting his chest. Giving up Ekia knew that it was impossible for him to move since he was weak and no one seemed to notice him. Struggling to look up Ekia hoped that Luna and Mia would come rescue him but it was unlikely with how busy it was and they may already be a long distance away. As black dots began to cover his view, he didn’t want to die in this way. Hearing a crash, other loud noises and screaming Ekia passed out, unsure what was going on. Slowly opening his eyes, Ekia found himself staring up at Levi. There was something off about him, he appeared to be more scary than charming. Giving a weak smile, Ekia hoped that Levi would go back to normal soon. Looking around, they were surrounded by destroyed stalls and people lying on the ground unconscious. That was when he noticed Luna and Mia was running in thor direction. When they arrived they were both exhausted and Mia was bleeding.

“What do you two think you were doing, bringing him out here!” Levi chilling asked them, increasing his grip on Ekia. “It should be clear that outside our new member shouldn’t be left alone due to his size and cluelessness, especially in huge crowds!”

“We didn’t mean to, the crowd separated us and pushed us away from him!” Mia stated, looking down and holding her arm firmly.

“No excuses will work, he could have died!” Levi hissed.

“It’s fine!” Ekia managed to get out before coughing.

“We will be leaving this town now, get the others!” Levi stated before turning away, heading in the direction of their room.

Looking back at them Ekia couldn’t help but feel bad. There was no way they could have dealt with the sudden, massive crowd.

“Sleep!” was the last thing Ekia knew before he passed out.
