"Sigh, I did it, Marlene. I got the money."
Lord Beltos stood over a gravestone somewhere in the Wastelands, home to the Demons.
He pulled out the Demon Catalog, a special magic device that could be used to exchange things for other things.
Specifically, Demon Coins for pretty much everything.
He purchased a strange bottle and poured it over the grave.
"Your long awaited drink. I hope you're happy."
The most expensive alcohol was soaking into the ground as little grass started to grow in the once dead area. Beltos' eyes flickered, but he still looked sad. This whole ordeal was to purchase some magical potion that could fix the problem of Demonification.
Demons were entities once from another world, but they had a dangerous property to change everything around them into dark matter. The monsters, for example. The surroundings were once again lively and green.
Even the air around Beltos softened and became bearable.
Lord Beltos was actually asleep for most of the time after arriving in this world with all the other original Demons. He was vastly injured and so required a long time to recover. When he awoke, several monsters were left with him to protect him.

He was a Lord in his old world, but in this world, not even the Demon King could compare to him. If Beltos had wished from the very beginning, he could have ended the war between the Demons and humans and go about his business.
But he didn't care. His last request came from Marlene, his sister. She wanted him to purchase the Nirvana Water and save the planet. She had spent her entire life trying to raise enough money, but the other Demons had decided to ignore the problem and just survive.
The Wastelands became the Jungle and Lord Beltos would often times wander off away from his place to see the world. The Heroes helped stop the war and found a way back home.
It was a perfect ending, except Beltos had no way of returning to his own world or seeing his departed family ever again.
Everyone united and the War Games became the leading form of entertainment of the public. Even though it was unnecessary, the production of magic and equipment was increased thanks to the Beltos Institute, a school in the No Man's Land dedicated to pretty much everything.
No one could argue the power his army represented and the wealth he now threw around like it was nothing. He did what he wanted as long as he wanted.
That was, until the entities that attacked his original world resurfaced in this world. But that was another matter altogether.
The reign of the Money Grubbing Demon Lord was a long one. And no one could even come close to achieving what he did.
He never left an heir, so the people who were in charge of the land when he was gone didn't know what to do with all the money. So they bought things out of the Demon Catalog and had a fun time studying them.
