The village representative of Rotenburg was standing before Demon Lord Beltos. Villager A had been summoned to personally appear before the new Lord for some odd reason.
"Good. Took you long enough. Time is money. Fill me out a list of everyone's info. This includes their birthdates, affinities, achievements, and even likes and dislikes. I need it done by the end of the week."
Villager A was tossed a sheet of expensive looking and feeling paper and was pushed back outside where he met Villager B, the head of the worker's group. He slightly bowed before rushing off. They could talk later.
Villager B rushed inside and bowed to Beltos.
"Quit that, you're wasting time. I set up a schedule that you guys need to follow. It will involve everyone rotating groups at different times, getting to work with everyone and try new things. I want you to catalog the things that happen, even if it is only a rough tussle over a board game at night."
"Sir?"
"This way, after a year, we can make solid teams and put them to work where they complete their jobs the best. Maximizing the output while keeping the same input."
Villager B was practically swimming at the thought. After he was ushered outside, he met Villager C, Villager A's sister. He blushed a little but quickly left as well.
Villager C hesitantly went in. She was worried as a woman and as a human.

"I hear that the women tend to follow you. I need you to look through this catalog and pick something cheap that can be refined cheaply but have a steep profit. I know this sounds ludicrous and unrealistic, but humor me."
The Lord's face was not humored.
She clutched the catalog like her life depended on it and left. She appeared to be the final person to see the Lord today, as there was no one remained outside when she exited.
Villager C sat in her small wooden house and flipped through the pages. She was kind of angry. Angry at the other ladies for pointing her out, at the fact that she was already 32 and needed to be looking for a husband, and the fact that the Demon Lord had given her such an impossible task!
If there was some way to produce cheap goods but sell them for an astronomical profit, wouldn't other people have already done it?!
That was when she spied a picture of small dust. There was a strange number that had a written change next to it. It seemed Beltos had written the cost in the human language as well. However, the price was abnormally lower than she imagined.
"Magic dust?! This can be made into so many wonderful things! This is it!"
She quickly rushed back to the castle.
"Oh? So fast? Good. Huh? This? What good is it?"
"This is Magic dust, right?!"
"No. It is evaporated Demon blood."
"Huh?!"
"Yes, even Demonic Beasts carry Demon blood. We just harvest the blood. If we don't use it in time, the liquid evaporates and just the dust is left behind."
"We can mix this into metal and make Mithril! Or mix it into potions and create lifesaving medicine! Any person would want this!"
"Hoh? I didn't realize that humans were so cheap. Fine. But do you have a potion maker or suitable blacksmith?"
"…No, sir."
"Alright. I'll just hire some professionals. They can pick suitable trainees to teach from you guys."
"Eh?"
"What?"
"You're spending money?"
"Duh, if it is how you say, this will be an enormous profit. Get back to work!"
