Asnor glanced in cloak's direction.
'How do I use it? Maybe the answer lies in how I try to utilize it. That's right! In fictional novels, there will be many requirements in trying out a very powerful magical item like this cloak.'
'I need to incite the cloak to come towards me by transferring my thoughts by means of chaos magic. Yeah, it seems stupid since I am desperate. There is no other choice.'
Asnor then tried to sit properly on ground by crossing his folded legs.
'I am chaos. I interfere in matters without anyone knowing about my presence. I am capable of various things. I am versatile no matter the situation. I use my power for my own benefit and the people I care about. Come to me, the great elf's cloak.'
Asnor transferred his thoughts to the cloak yet nothing happened even after waiting for a minute.
"DAMN IT! WHY?! I KNOW I WAS SO STUPID THINKING IT WOULD WORK BUT COME ON!"
Asnor grumbled but he eventually calmed down.
'I need to look for short cuts just like how the elf became a short cut of mine to get here.'
"But kind of short cut would it be? This cloak... what kind of stuff will it respond it to? How was it made? That's right! THE ELF! He must have been the person who had created this cloak."
Asnor looked around and he then noticed the dark mist. Asnor's eyes glittered.
"Hahaha. How could I have never thought about it? This cloak must have not been responding to me because it has an owner and it doesn't know that it's owner had already died. I just need to use the dark mist in some way to make it recognize me as it's new owner."
"Wait a second! What if it has gained sentience and realizes that I was the one who had destroyed the elf's body. Then, would it kill me?"
Asnor sighed and thought, 'Why am I having such crazy thoughts? I must have gone crazy.'
"It doesn't matter. I would have tried to do it if I hadn't seen the terrifying capabilities of the elf. He must have made the ring and also the cloak very terrifying."
"I give up! But I will come back for you, cloak. Considering what a terrifying situation the planet has got itself involved, I need to grow stronger and figure out a way to save the myself and my family."
"If possible, the entire Gremory family and not just big sister, mom and dad. Worst case scenario, I and my family need to evacuate this planet even though there is no other planet around this magnificent planet itself."
Asnor didn't know why he was speaking to the cloak stupidly as if he was assuming that cloak will understand whatever he says. Just in case, Asnor transferred everything he had said as thoughts to the cloak too.
Asnor sighed heavily.
Just when Asnor was about teleport himself, he sensed something shocking.
Asnor slowly looked towards the cloak.
'NO WAY!'
Asnor could see that the cloak is slowly floating and facing towards himself.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Asnor gulped.
Asnor wanted to transfer his thoughts yet again but he didn't. All though Asnor was confident in himself in not letting the cloak attack himself in any sort of way like through the connection between himself and cloak while he was transferring his thoughts to the cloak but he felt that he shouldn't let his guard down just in case in front of the cloak.
Asnor then revealed his intentions of having the cloak move towards himself by means of his aura.
The cloak then slowly started moving towards Asnor. The cube's inner wall couldn't stop the cloak at all. The cloak just passed through the cube by some sort of blending with the wall that even Asnor could not understand.
'How the heck is that possible?'
The cloak eventually passed through the cube completely and arrived in front of Asnor.
Asnor then tried to use all of his sensory powers on the cloak. Asnor couldn't understand anything about the cloak.
"Can I be your owner from now on forever?"
The cloak moved behind himself and it seemed like it wanted Asnor to wear itself.
'All right! I hope that it won't take revenge on me for what I did to it's previous owner's body.'
Asnor then held the cloak and wore it himself.
The cloak then stopped floating.
'THANK GOD!', Asnor smiled upon realizing as to why the cloak had seemed like it was sentient.
'The final intentions of the elf that had been transferred into the cloak was a test for future owner. Of course, if this person was strong enough, he could forcefully own the cloak but that wasn't the case for Asnor.'
'Thankfully, my crazy idea of telling my intentions to the cloak was right. It seems that the cloak also had the ability to detect whether he was truthful. Luckily, someone as mischievous as himself was always truthful when he had transferred his thoughts to the cloak.'
Asnor focused to assess the true capabilities of his magical cloak.
Asnor's eyes turned dark blue as soon as the cloak started to wave slightly. Asnor looked around.
"This is impossible! I can precisely sense everything going on inside the this building yet I am not going crazy despite such a huge size of information being received by my brain."
Asnor had a very astonished expression on his face as if he couldn't believe what was happening to himself.
'Even though I had used sensory capabilities before, it was more like sensing what I want. My mind knew by itself what I wanted when I tried to sense my surroundings. It was very magical. But this time, I feel like I have access to the entire arsenal of knowledge. Amazing!'
Asnor laughed while rejoicing at this immense satisfaction of how the cloak had enhanced his powers.
"Wait a second! If that's the case, can I..."
Asnor then collected some dust and threw it towards the cube. The dust particles then disappeared into the cube.
Asnor could easily detect that the collected dust he had thrown was now inside the cube.
'I can't believe it! This cloak in fact enhances my powers. I don't know whether there is a limit when it comes to enhancing my power but it doesn't matter currently.'
'In my current situation, I am just too weak. Especially after getting my knowledge on what future holds for myself, I had this intense desire for power to be able to protect myself. I need to find other items similar to this cloak.'
Asnor then stretch his right hand towards the ring inside the cube. Chaos magic then suddenly appeared out of nowhere inside the cube which in turn enveloped the ring. The ring then vanished to appear out of nowhere into Asnor's right hand.
Asnor then grasped the ring with his right hand. Asnor tried to use the ring. The ring resisted at first but when Asnor tried to use it with the help of cloak, he was easily able to use it.
'It seems that only the ones who had the cloak could use ring. If anyone else had tried to do so, the ring would self destruct. Very very interesting. I wonder what's inside this ring.'
Asnor sensed what was inside and he was mind blown.
Asnor saw saw various magical items, magical outfits, magic weapons etc.
'Is this an magical armory for an army? I can't believe that these people still didn't survive.'
Asnor also saw several stacked up books, maps, bottles with magical liquids.
Asnor eventually calmed down and decided to look further into the ring later on.
Asnor then disappeared to appear in front of the walls.
Asnor looked behind at the floating dark mist and understood.
'It seems that despite being a corrupted wall, it still maintained it's function to act as a barrier against the dark mist. If that's the case, then...'
Asnor then teleported to appear behind a two footed magical guard.
Magical guard then turned around to observe Asnor who had appeared out of nowhere.
Magical Guard walked slowly towards Asnor. Eventually, the magical guard arrived in front of Asnor and just stood.
Asnor smiled and said, "Follow me."
Asnor then bypassed the magical guard. Magical guard then started following Asnor as he walked.
Asnor's smile widened even further.
"Getting the cloak means that I became the elf's inheritor. But I don't even know who he is. If saving the planet is the elf's wish, I can do it but I feel like I still owe the elf a lot because saving the planet was something I would have done even if it wasn't his wish since it would put me and my family in danger."
"I guess I am selfish since I am only considering safety of mine and my family. That's just who I am. I fight only for my own interests."
----------------------------------------
Asnor perched on top of the building while making himself invisible.
'Even though I got my hands on these magical guards, it's just one fourth of the original amount before. I can't believe I wiped out three fourth of these monsters. Even the strongest in Gaia will be crushed in just one blow of these magical guards. Originally, there were ten thousand magical guards. But now it's 3,021.'
Asnor then glanced at dark beasts swimming around with the snake like dragon sleeping right in front of the invisible building.
'Could I get my hands on these monster by manipulating them?'
Asnor scrutinized the snake like dragon and other dead beasts.
'No. I can have them swim in a specific direction. That's it. Honestly speaking, this barrier around dead land is too terrifying. It makes these dead beasts think that it's incredibly dangerous to swim outside of dead land. If not for this barrier, they would have already swam out of this dead land.'
Asnor then glanced upwards.
'It's time to get outside of this dead land. It's been six months since I have been inside this dead land.'
Asnor's cloak then started fluttering and Asnor then dashed upwards.
'HAHAHA. I don't even need to use my powers to fly or swim like I am flying. I feel like a superhero!'
Asnor kept flying upwards. Whenever a dead beast came in his path, he evaded the dead beast.
Asnor smiled joyously and laughed.
"WOOHOO!"
