Looking around while on horseback sure is exciting... I get to see this great scenery. The Mountains are certainly different from I remember... But the grass plain with the Mountains with the snow on top of the Mountain in the background looks amazing. While admiring this beautiful scenery Alexis asked me a few questions even though I said I didn't remember. It is very annoying.
"Do you remember anything, Emily?" She asked and which I was disgusted at because she asked this question at the very least 10 times.
"No, I'm sorry Alexis..." I responded with a sad half-assedly manner.
"No, no! I'm sorry, Emily... I keep asking this." She responded and I looked in front of us was a bridge connecting to an island.
I looked towards the island and it had a Castle and many houses below it. It was uneven because of the Mountain on the island but with the sunlight mixed in it had its effects. I gasped in awe as I looked at the castle and thousands of houses below it. Mainly these houses were made of brick rooftops with wooden walls and some windows. I really haven't ever seen anything like this and this was made by people...
"We're finally here, Emily. Would you like to depart?" She asked but I refused because... I have no money! What's this currency? I was too preoccupied to ask for the currency!
"What's the currency, Alexis?" I asked and she gave me the answer; 1 Platinum = 100 Gold = 1 Gold = 100 Copper. It seems pretty simple!
"Anything else would you like to know? I have to get to my receptionist job at the Guild." She said and put me down in the middle of the street. (Yes, after talking they got there.)
I screamed at her in my head but it doesn't look like she got the memo as she walked away from me. I sighed and looked around and saw stalls filled to the brim. Many apples, pears, oranges, and some purple looking fruit. I kept walking around just looking around at the scenery and suddenly heard a scream.
"Get that boy!" I heard someone scream and looked behind and saw a kid running past me with two apples and the purple fruit in his hands. A few moments later a woman came over to me.
"Did you see that boy and where'd he go?" She asked and I pointed a random direction into an alleyway and she ran off saying 'Thanks!'
I guess that was very quick. I wonder what that boy was doing? Luckily I saved his butt even if he is a thief and he should be grateful! I put my hand against my chest and put on a proud look before stopping to look at my armor.
Oh, I forgot. Yes, I'm wearing clothes and it's leather armor underneath it! Anyways I found this 'Adventurers Guild' and I went into it and I could see many tables with stools and people either passed out drunk or fight with words in gibberish. I see Alexis behind the counter and assumed this is the 'Guild' she was talking about. I kept eyes on the people fighting each other just in case if they hit on me somehow and went up to Alexis.
"Hey, Alexis! What's this... Guild thingy?" I asked and she responded with the history which I didn't ask for but it's greatly appreciated.
Apparently, a person who thought of this was a reincarnator. He thought of this and told everyone about it and how to work it out. Quests to earn guild if you exterminate the Goblins, Orcs, Ogres, Wyverns, Dragons and other Monsters. There's only been 1 Calamity case and that was a Devil but since then there hasn't been any. It's based on ranks like this for example F, D,C,B,A,S,SS,SSS. No-one has ever reached S yet besides the Reincarnator. I, of course, signed up for this and got an ID card just saying Emily Rank F.
I looked to my side and saw the quest board and looked at the current quests and the easy to get money... This is the only way to earn money even if I don't have any experience in doing jobs!
Goblin Extermination.
If you have proof of killing the Goblin Squadron and have the Goblin Ears you get the Reward of
76 Copper Coins
Dragons
Many Dragons are around Eartha and we plan to kill them. However, if one is brave enough they can try to kill them.
A reward of 10 Platinum Coins and a public thanks from the King.
These two caught my eye because of how easy one is and the harder one is. I sighed and thought about the past with my friend Jacob in high school and we got arrested for throwing eggs at people's cars... Good times. I walk up to Alexis and ask if I can do the Goblin Extermination she seemed to hesitate but agreed nonetheless. So... What am I going to do now? Where is the Goblins?!
Meanwhile...
(POV CHANGE)
"Sir, I'm sorry for doing that! I'm so sorry!" The man was crying and bowing while snot was coming out and it was landing on my favorite carpet.
I sighed and demanded to know what happened...
Hm? So a little girl with blue hair with ocean blue eyes? Why'd he think so much of her? Usually, tribes outside of the Union tend to die off easily since they have little to nothing to do with Magic. They'd only last a year before dying off. They should be my royal guard and kill them off since they might be a threat if they gain enough numbers...
"Exactly sir that is why... I used [Mana Perception] on her and the Aura was overwhelming! (Yes, she does have low mana compared to other stories but I think you can guess why in the future.) Tribes never have anything like that! They usually have around 10 Mana since they're outside of the Kingdom," He continued on which this little girl greatly intrigued me, "S-she's a monster with that MANA source! It has to be a monster in the guise of a h-human, Your Majesty!" He yelled at me and got some of his spit on me. I wiped it off and thought about our circumstances.
"I'll deploy the spies to see if this person is a Monster like you say so or not," The man sighed in relief but I continued on, "If not your head will come rolling right towards me," I said as his eyes widened in fear.
"Y-y-Your Majesty! W-why would you like someone like me dead?! Y-you'd ruin your reputation!" He yelled at me which truly is a disgrace since he trained so hard but got so little progress.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"I, of course, wouldn't at all. My reputation will be kept safe because you'll be executed silently so no one will ever know." I responded and he started to cry again and I demanded my guards to take him out. Clank. Clank. Clank. Their armor of theirs is annoying.
I sighed and thought about what would happen to my Kingdom... Eartha if this person was actually a Monster like a Demon or Devil. I sighed and looked at my artifact named iPhone. I don't exactly know what 'Internet Connection' is but I use the spell [Lightning Bolt] to charge this thing. It really is fun!
(POV CHANGE)
I had a knife in my hand and I was trembling because I killed something. I never thought about what would happen If I did this but here I did it. I never hunted in my life and never have killed something in my life. However, here I am standing above this 'Goblin' corpse with green blood sprayed all over my leather armor. I silently sobbed about what happened back when I was fishing and it really was stupid to go out fishing that day... I regret not being able to be with my friends in the white clouds.
"Hugght?" I heard a voice questioning something and I uncovered my hands from my eyes and looked towards where the voice came from. It was a goblin with a branch in the shape of a baseball bat. My face cramped up in fear and my eyes were swollen from the tears and I heard more cracks from leaves and twigs. Many more goblins with their yellow eyes and green skin and their white loincloth came up from behind me.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." I kept crying for a while and stood up from the ground and looked at the Goblins while I could barely see. I tried thinking of a way to get out of this situation but my mind was clouded with thoughts of 'You killed something... Someone' I keep trying to think 'It's just a monster!' However, I can't keep lying to myself. I killed something and my morals are corrupted. It's just like hunting? Fuck that. I don't care because I've never killed something before and that goblin may as well be a scumbag monster but it at least had some sentience.
They kept getting closer and closer while I sobbed silently and I felt myself back up against something. I turn around and see a tree with the usual mold on the bottom of it. I kept thinking 'This is my end!' and I even cried in my head... If that's possible. Will I ever get to see what will happen in the future of this place? What is this place? Did I reincarnate...? Transportation? I don't understand anything at all... However, I suddenly thought of a stupid idea.
What if I climbed up this moldy tree? They've cornered me into this tree and this is my only idea in this clogged head of mine. I put one my hands on the tree and make sure it's able to stay. I tried the same thing with the other and I put my feet on the bottom part of the tree as I heard the hissing of the goblins. I repeated 'Faster!' in my head and I climbed up to a branch and laid on it.
I panted because of my low climbing ability and laughed at how I survived. 'I'm pathetic...' I shake my head to get rid of those thoughts and look down and see the Goblins trying to climb up. However, they have low intelligence so I assume they can't. I sigh in relief and lay on my back and think about how I'm going to get down and I laughed a lot and reflected on what's going to happen. I felt my eyes get heavy and I couldn't keep them open so I let them close and I slept a peaceful night sleep or so I wished.
I saw my friend in the shadows I tried studying if it was actually and it was. I called at him too many times to count and I tried over and over again. Eventually, I lost my voice in this abyss of pitch black. However, I called out once more.
"Hey, Jacob!" I yelled at him but he was out of reach. I tried to run towards him but to no avail.
I tried to run towards him again but I fell into black liquid and felt the liquid enter my throat and I couldn't breathe. I tried yelling for Jacob and he came... He had a smile on his face and looked at me drown in this black liquid while he was above me on something like a glass ceiling. I frowned and almost cried but the black liquid prevented that and I sunk further into the abyss of black liquid.
I jumped up and hit my head on something. I looked up and saw a branch above me and I suddenly remembered what happened last night. I sighed in relief that dream wasn't real. However, it was very vivid and very scary. I shivered unconsciously and I looked down to see no Goblins under the tree. I sighed in relief once again and climbed down very slowly making sure they were actually gone.
When I made it down and I checked everywhere for those pesky Goblins to make sure they weren't around. Once I made sure they weren't around me I tried running back to the Kingdom place. I kept running at a good pace and turned back every so often to make sure nothing was chasing me. I quickly got out of that forest and now I was in the plains... So where is the Kingdom?
After a while...
I finally made it back to the bridge that's made out of stone bricks and many carriages passed by me as I walked along the bridge. Some people called out to me and when I looked at them their eyes were licking over me and I shivered and got goosebumps multiple times. I think I can recall almost throwing up... Anyways as I got closer I noticed the gate that Alexis didn't have to use since she had access to get in without Guards pestering her. I walked up to it and saw 4 Guards on each side of the gate. Two on my side and Two on the other. I assume there's more I cannot see.
"Um, can I get in?" I asked the Guard that had a phoenix emblem and he looked at me and examined me to see if I was a threat... Lolicon I bet my money on it.
"No, you cannot unless you have a citizenship card, Miss." He responded and I was pissed off by this because I went through something that was traumatizing.
"No, I don't have that. But please can I get in?!" I half-yelled at him and the other guard came over and asked what was wrong and the person I was talking to said something about me.
"No, Miss. You cannot I hope you may understand. Now scram." He said insensitively and I was nearly at my limit of exhaustion and I cannot afford to go somewhere else.
"Please. I'm nearly at my limit and I need to go in. Please?" I dragged out the puppy eyes However, that didn't work and I was kicked out to the front of the bridge.
I stomped the ground out of anger and looked around to see any other methods of getting in. Albeit there was no safe way I could get in I could get in a hard way. I sighed and looked over at the water portion and walked down a hill and went to the water. I jumped in and held my nose and swam over to the island. I heard some yelling probably because I was noticed but I continued on anyway.
I coughed because some water got into my pipes but I finally made it to the rocks and I climbed them very slowly. I made sure the two goblin ears I had gotten didn't go to waste and tossed them over the rocks. (If you're wondering how she got them unwet... She held her hand up with them and that's how they noticed her.) I finally made it over the rocks and looked around to see stairs going up to the island. I happily got down from the rocks and picked up the ears and cheerfully skipped to the steps. I went slowly up the steps to make sure no one knew I was going up these.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
I finally made it up the steps leaving behind a water trail from these shoes. They're soaking wet but I could care less. I walked around and looked to see I was at the Adventurer's Guild already. I walked in and noticed a few stares at me because of how watered down I was. (Haha! I didn't use wet so it wasn't in the wrong context...! What am I doing...) I walked over to Alexis who was sitting down and doing some document work. She looked over and saw me and put on a happy face.
"Back Already, Emily? How did it go... You're very wet! What happened to you?!" She asked and I responded Guards didn't let me in so I swam in.
"Okay, you do know that the guards are probably searching for you..." She muttered something.
"What?" I asked looking at her with suspicious eyes.
"Nothing Anyway!" She said and changed the topic.
"What about the Ears?" She asked and I took them out of my pocket and gave it to her. Unfortunately, it was only two and I hope I can get some money with this.
"Only two, Emily? Oh well... I shouldn't expect too much for a kid..." She seemed disappointed but enlightened that I survived. I didn't explain what happened nor I will ever to anyone.
"Here you go!" She said happily and took something from a drawer and it was 54 Copper. (If you're wondering why? It was only 76 Copper coins the reward that is. Because Ears usually cost more to prove that you've killed Goblins. Killing the Goblins was the reward amount. However, the ears cost more so they combine with the reward cost. A weird system I put up, huh?) I asked about how much an Inn costs and she answered with 'Usually 20 copper unless you're a noble you get to use the high-quality ones like the 2 gold coin ones.' I went out of the Adventurer's Guild and went to find an Inn. I walked against the pathway and I was tired from the swimming and walking from the forest and it was already night time from just doing those things.
I looked at the Apples and drooled and I obviously bought 2 of them which cost me 24 Copper and I ate one. I filled my empty stomach and kept looking for the inn I desperately desired. I found one named Pumpkin's Rear. I didn't care about the name or anything about it I just went in and looked around to see if it would be good. People were eating and it was very noisy and I saw someone at the counter cleaning a drink with a cloth.
"May I have a room? I have some money." I asked and she nodded and I got the room 204 and I rushed to the rooms and went inside my room.
The room was... Normal! The bed was at the corner of the room and a mirror was placed at the other. There was a desk with paper and a feather and some ink. I took off the leather armor that was weighing me down slightly and looked at myself in the Mirror. Beautiful Waist Long Blue Hair with Ocean Blue Eyes. If you eyed this person if they were older than this body's age you would be instantly like 'Would you marry me?!' However, the age seemed to be 12-13. I laughed at my lack of the slayer of foes and the perfect legendary sword and left me to... Maybe play with this body? It just seems wrong either way to think about that.
I jumped against the bed and it didn't have the springs I was used to so I instantly fell face first into the pillow and just listened to the noise ever so slightly as my eyes got heavier like earlier and I felt them close up. I would like to have an interesting adventure... I drifted off into the dream land.
