Chapter 15: Everything Impossible is Happening

Well, thanks to Murphy's law, Nevan had experienced the feeling of being hit by a meteor.

How was the feeling? Definitely not a pleasant one. His body was scorched completely before the meteor reached him, his entirety was crushed by the heavy impact and he had lost his senses.

But the intensity of the burning and the intensity of completely being crushed was not like the actual thing. It was nerfed down. Otherwise people would go insane from experiencing the pain of being crushed by meteors.

As for Nevan, as a boy of only 14 years old, it was much more degraded. But even so, the pain he felt, he never wanted to feel anything of that sort ever again.

When Nevan opened his eyes he was back in the wooden room. Cursing Murphy and the Oztech Corps a million times, he moved towards the door in a frenzy.

*smack*

He had stepped on the loose wooden board and thus was smashed into the face by the wooden board again. He was so busy getting angry at them that he forgot there was the chance of anything bad happening in this world. Rubbing his nose with water in his eyes, he started walking to the door. He was extra careful this time.

His test would not start if he wasn't outside the room. This room was just an appetizer and a friendly warning to Nevan of what was possible in this world.

"There won't be any meteors outside right?" grabbing the handle of the door, Nevan asked.

"Unlikely, they should not repeat the same scenario twice. After all, if each time a meteor comes crashing then there's no point in this test." Black Nevan answered.

"True." Nevan twisted the handle and opened the door.

*Moooo*

A cow's roar - to Nevan it seemed nothing short of roar - was heard and before Nevan could register what happened he felt a huge force striking him in the stomach. He flew horizontally from the strike, smashed into the wall opposite to the door and broke through the wooden wall.

His mouth was filled with blood, his skin lacerated here and there. He felt weak. He saw a huge cow twice as bis as an adult man madly running through the hole that his body had made in the wall and rushing into the unknown.

A man came running after the cow. Seeing an injured person he hurriedly came up to apologize.

"I am very sorry sir, our Pongtu is a little bit rude today and he is throwing a tantrum. I apologize for your inconvenience. Please drink this, you will recover in no time." Leaving a bottle of liquid which should be medicine, the man rushed after the mad cow.

"Little bit rude? Tantrum? My inconvenience? That freaking cow smashed me right in the middle of my body. My whole body feels paralyzed. Inconvenience my ass! I am dying here." He angrily looked at the bottle that the man had left. Looking at it, a screen window popped up beside it.

Full recovery potion. Drinking it will completely eliminate all negative effects.

Seeing the description Nevan was relieved and happily drank the medicine. Instantly he felt fine. His body was energetic and there was no painful feeling anywhere in his body.

He got up and observed his surroundings. He was in a city. OK. A very bad luck. If he was in a city, it'd be full of machines and people and so with all sorts of accidents. Oh wait, he was in a Murphy's world. It didn't matter if it was a city or a barren land with nothing else in sight. Bad luck would come and hunt him as if he owed money from bad luck's ancestors.

With a sigh, Nevan started strolling around. There was no specific purpose to this test. One only needed to survive as long as they could. So he just had to make sure he doesn't break down from the stimuli of such endless bad luck scenarios.

He stopped on a zebra crossing. The signal for pedestrians were red. He stood along with many other passersby. There was a very shallow hole in the street painted black and white. The hole was small so most cars weren't bothered by it and paid it no mind.

Nevan did not notice it. He was vigilantly looking around for suspicious activities. The signal turned green for pedestrians and red for vehicles.

Nevan crossed half of the road safely. He went by that hole safely too. Without any incident. He had almost reached the other end.

Suddenly a truck appeared with speed unfit for crowded roads especially when a signal was down. The truck showed no signs of slowing down. The truck driver had seen the people crossing the road, but his break had failed - his truck's brakes had failed. In a fit of panic, the truck driver steered hard, his direction totally targeting Nevan.

As Nevan was rather wary of his surroundings, he noticed this happening. The truck was already just some meters away from him. He jumped to the left side but the truck had already steered to right avoiding him totally.

In panic all the people dodged like headless fly. The truck zoomed past all the people and sped to unknown. In this frenzy, one person had tripped over by that hole. That person looked over at the place where his feet was stuck. He pulled it but couldn't get it out. He pulled it hard and harder and hardest. Finally, his leg came out.

His relieved face from getting his feet out turned into horror as he saw cracks starting to appear centering around the hole. The cracks became bigger and bigger. before he could get up and run, the cracks spread to him and became wide to engulf him. All the people beside the hole started to fall into the cracks one by one.

The cracks didn't stop. It started to spread in a ground braking speed. It was literally ground breaking. One of the cracks spread into Nevan's direction.

Fuck!

Nevan hurriedly dodged by jumping at a far distance. The cracks zealously followed after him. So started a game of hopping like rabbits. Or like frogs?

It seemed as if the crack was hell bent on swallowing him.

Soon the cat and mouse chase stopped. Nevan had come quite far away from the place of the incident. He was panting, sitting on the ground. This kind of incident was not uncommon in a city. Because of heavy rainfall, some drains would become damaged. This would lead to the roads above the drain, collapsing down.

It was possible to avoid dangers in this world. He had realized. But still, Nevan had never run so much in his life. This was another form of torture in itself. Wait, wasn't running and becoming exhausted another form of stimulant?

That would actually mean, his brain's unsteadiness was still increasing.

How shrewd. If he died from falling down, his brain's stimulation would increase. And even if he did not fall but instead kept escaping from the scene his brain would still be incited by the running.

Either way his brain would be unable to remain calm, if the degree of stimulation in his mind reaches a certain threshold he would be ejected from the reality. Though Nevan didn't want to stay in this goddamned world for even a second more, he had to for the sake of this test.

After figuring it out Nevan realized, this world was really hell bent on creating disturbance in his brain. He must remain calm. He got up. Dusting away the dirt, he walked in the opposite direction of the whole incident.

He had just taken some steps, when he noticed a shadow enlarging from his behind, covering him and then extending beyond him. Something was approaching him from behind. Something huge.

He looked back and uttered, "This isn't possi--." his words drowned by the huge sound generated from the impact of the building that fell on him.

….

Nevan opened his eyes and appeared in the wooden room again. This isn't fair. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong but this, this is too much. A road collapse actually expanded in such a way that buildings had collapsed. What the hell is wrong with this world?

Instead of becoming more angry Nevan took a long breathe and calmed down.

Become a sage, become a person devoid of being moved by 7 emotions and 6 desires. Calmness. Apathy. Indifference.

Nevan kept muttering these mantras - they definitely were not certified mantras. After calming down, he left the room very cautiously.

And then he slipped on a banana.

Birds pooped on him.

A dog peed on him.

He stumbled on a rock and pushed away a person and was assassinated by a sniper in the head instead of that guy.

A truck full of sharks fell on him. The sharks were very hungry and angry.

An alien invasion occured. He became the first victim of aliens.

A zombie virus broke out. He was bitten by at least 10 zombies at the same time.

Out of nowhere a grenade fell on him.

Caught in a terrorist's suicide bombing.

Choked to death when drinking water.

He sat on the floor of the wooden room after being killed for the 11th time.

"This is too much. I am already at my limit. I can't handle anymore deaths." Nevan pathetically screamed.

"Nevan, Come to my world. I understand how to handle this world. Nothing is better than Chaos." An excited smile plastered over his face as Black Nevan exclaimed.
