The scene unfolds with intense urgency as the commander of the knights shouts commands. "Gather all the villagers here and instruct all the holy casters to purify the forest!" He grips the chain binding Bintang, who bows his head, powerless and tied, while the knights begin herding the villagers to a central location.
More than ten holy casters line up at the edge of the dark, ominous forest, their wands raised. They start to chant, building the energy needed to unleash a powerful spell of purification. The commander stands by with a blank expression, simply waiting for the spell to work its magic. One knight approaches and salutes. "Commander," he says, catching the man's attention. The commander looks at him as the knight reports, "We gathered them all here. What are your orders?"
The commander, still disinterested, replies, "Let them wait for now. We'll decide after the forest is purified." His gaze shifts back to the dark woods.
The holy magic finally ignites. The forest is engulfed in a brilliant light, Blinding everyone who see it, forcing everyone to avert their eyes. The brightness pulsates before it begins to fade. As the light dies down, the commander reopens his eyes, only to be shocked by what he sees: the forest is unchanged.
He shouts, furious, at the holy casters, "Hey! What’s going on? Weren’t you supposed to purify this forest?!"
One caster, pale with disbelief, responds shakily, "We... we don’t know. Somehow the dark energy within the forest is much stronger than we anticipated."
The commander stands in stunned silence, struggling to process this failure when a knight's panicked voice cuts through the air. "Commander!"
He turns around and is met with horror—the villagers’ skin begins to melt, flowing off their bodies like water to reveal dark figures beneath. Their eyes and mouths glow with an eerie, bright yellow, shining like lanterns in the night.
Bintang watches in shock, his eyes meeting those of a once-kind grandmother who now smiles at him with a terrifying, glowing grin. Before anyone can react, one by one, the villagers are lifted from the ground, as if drawn by an unseen force, and pulled into the depths of the dark forest.
The commander stands frozen, staring at the unnatural sight. Grabbing the chain tied to Bintang, he yanks it in anger. "What the hell is going on here?!"
Bintang, still in shock, shakes his head, signaling that he doesn’t know. But the commander misreads his actions, assuming Bintang is withholding information. Furious, he kicks Bintang to the ground, venting his frustration.
The Commander shouted at the Holy caster, "Prepare another Holy spell! If the second spell doesn't give any effect—" His anger boiled over as he yelled to all his men, "WE BURN THIS FOREST TO THE GROUND!" All his men shouted in agreement, while Bintang, still hurt, wondered Where is Mira?
Inside the dark forest, as all the villagers were pulled into Sirius' body, which had started to transform, Mira noticed a familiar face and quickly grabbed her hand. Mira grasped the grandma, who was still smiling, but her panicked tone—echoing like a young girl—betrayed her fear. "Sister, I have bad news..... a really bad news" Mira face turn in serious after hearing this "An army of knights has gathered here, and one of them bested our brother in combat and chained him."
Mira’s face, initially calm, shifted into one of displeasure upon hearing the news. "So, they like playing with fire, huh?" she muttered before sighing and calming herself down. "Before you go home," she said, looking at her grandma with a smile, "please tell everyone I will come home soon."
Her grandma replied with a cheerful tone, "Yes... Sister, I will," before Mira let go of her hand, allowing her to be dragged into Sirius' body as his transformation continued.
Sirius’ form grew larger and larger, until he transformed into a gigantic wolf-like creature with six hands and four legs, towering over the forest. He roared loudly, looking up at the sky. Outside the forest, everyone was shocked, frozen in fear and disbelief at the monstrous figure emerging from the trees. The Commander, seeing this, quickly shouted, "RETREAT!" as he mounted his horse, dragging Bintang, who was injured from the rough treatment. The rest of the knights followed suit, scrambling onto their horses, while those without mounts fled on foot, desperately following their commander.
Sirius, watching them run, laughed at the sight before roaring for all to hear, "YOU CAN'T RUN, BECAUSE I, THE ANCIENT DEMON LORD, WILL PUSH FORWARD INTO YOUR KINGDOM AND KILL YOU ALL!" And he continue to laugh, His words sent terror through their hearts as they fled for their lives.
Meanwhile, as the Commander fled, he heard the sound of chains breaking. Turning to look at Bintang, he saw Mira embracing him. His eyes widened in shock. Sword at the ready, he shouted while turning his horse around, "WHO ARE YOU?" as he prepared to strike with his sword.
Mira did not respond. At that moment, a Holy summoning spell was cast beneath her. The Commander, pleased with what he thought was one of his casters’ work, smirked as the head of a Holy dragon emerged, devouring both Mira and Bintang in one swift bite. Believing his enemies were dead, he turned and continued his retreat.
One of the Holy casters, who had witnessed the scene, stood in silent shock, confused and in disbelief. Though he had felt the angelic aura, he couldn’t help but wonder who had cast the spell.
Seeing them fleeing, Sirius smiled, his laughter echoing through the air as he raised all six of his hands, as if pulling something from the earth. From his hands, smoke began to fall, drifting down to the ground. The forest around him began to stir and come alive—trees pulled their roots free, revealing faces eerily similar to Sirius’, each with a bright yellow smile and glowing eyes. Dark, twisted creatures of various shapes and forms began to rise up from the earth.
Sirius’ laugh grew louder and louder, his voice booming as the forest transformed into a living, breathing entity of horror. Pointing one of his hands towards a specific location, he bellowed, "Charge, my friends! Let them feel the—" he raised his voice even higher, "MIGHTY SIRIUS!" He laughed in joy, his enormous form slowly walking away from the village, heading directly towards the Holy Kingdom.
Meanwhile, On Mira side
Bintang was in shock, staring at Mira and the red dragon with its neck emerging from her stomach, alongside the white one still sleeping. Mira looked normal, but the red dragon smiled at Bintang before laughing for a moment and speaking. "Right, this is the first time, and both of us didn’t introduce ourselves properly, did we?"
Mira reached into her bag and pulled out a map, saying, "Good luck, Bintang." Bintang felt worried, looking at the red dragon. The red dragon introduced herself, "Name's Hely, the white one’s Angely. We’re both named after the bo—" Mira quickly grabbed Hely's mouth, signaling her to be quiet about something before slowly letting go. Hely glanced at Mira and quickly added, "The book you saw flying out of Mira's robe."
Mira sighed in disbelief, clearly unhappy with what she’d just heard. Bintang could only listen as his panic slowly faded, calming down. Hely turned to Bintang, explaining, "Well, I don’t care about the names. Call me whatever you want. I’ve been observing, and also—" Hely suddenly opened her mouth, aiming to bite Bintang’s hand. Bintang quickly dodged, avoiding her bite. Hely smiled mischievously and said, "Beware of me. I’ve been planning to bite you since the moment Mira adopted you."
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Bintang, realizing how dangerous his situation was, grew more alert, staring at Hely. Mira shut Hely’s mouth with her hand, saying, "Well, introduction's done. Now for the next step." She looked around and realized, "I forgot about the horses."
Bintang was shocked, realizing something. He looked around his body. Mira noticed and said, "Right, don’t tell me you left them there?" She sighed, realizing they would have to go back. She started walking, "Come on, we didn’t teleport that far."
Bintang wanted to say something, raising his hand to get Mira’s attention. Hely noticed this and asked, "Please, ask whatever you need. I’m her second brain." Bintang tried to signal her by pointing to the ground and raising both hands as if pulling something up. Hely grew confused, her expression showing more confusion.
Mira said, "As her second set of eyes, I see and I know what Bintang means."
Hely shouted, "HEY, I SHOULD BE THE ONE ANSWERING HIS CURIOSITY!" Mira, with disappointment, before then an idea struck her head and smile "Well, if you don’t understand what he’s asking, how can you answer it? And how do you answer something we don’t even know the question to? If we don’t know the question, how can I provide an answer?"
Hely grew angrier as Mira’s long explanation annoyed her. Mira continued, "So the problem is simple, right? You need to know the question first before answering it, because without a question, how can you know the answer to something that wasn’t asked? If we answer something they didn’t ask, it’s the same as not satisfying your customer. And if the customer isn’t satisfied, well, you know…"
Bintang listened while Hely struggled to control her anger, growing more frustrated by the second. Mira went on, "So you better know what they’re asking before answering, so both parties can understand each other. Because they both need the question and the answer, and—"
Hely, unable to bear it any longer, shouted, "FINE, JUST STOP THE NONSENSE ALREADY!" before retreating angrily into Mira’s stomach.
Mira smiled, satisfied, while Bintang still looked confused. Mira then explained to Bintang, "The reason we can’t teleport like we did earlier is because…"
She paused, thinking of something. Finally, she said, "Because it can’t be used freely. People or creatures don’t like to be disturbed, right?" Her eye on her forehead glanced aside "I mean, if you are doing some execersise and then you get your popped into a different place without a warning, in my perspective ofc i will be angry especially if i was eating in peace" hoping Bintang would just accept it. Bintang nodded, not thinking any further about it.
After a few minutes, they arrived at their destination, finding the village empty, with no signs of life around. Guilt started to weigh on Bintang as he remembered being beaten and bested by the knight commander and his failure to protect the villagers. Mira noticed the guilt on his face and tapped his shoulder. "Don't worry, they are not dead, trust me. I'll make sure you meet them after all this is done, okay?"
Bintang looked at Mira, seeing how calm she was, but he still couldn't shake his doubts. He grabbed her shoulder, shaking her as if trying to signal something. Mira understood and said, "I'm calm because I know they're alive, not because I don't care about them."
Still, Bintang remained unconvinced, his thoughts stuck on the worst possibilities. Realizing this, Mira sighed and said, "Fine. There's something I want to tell you anyway. Let's sit down at Granny's house, and I'll explain everything."
Bintang hesitated but stopped shaking her, a small hint of trust forming. Mira smiled, knowing she was starting to reach him. Both of them began walking toward the Granny's house. Mira suddenly stopped, followed by a confused Bintang. She had noticed their carriage, but the horses were nowhere in sight. "Could be the knights," she muttered in disappointment, then continued walking.
They entered Granny's house, and Mira quickly grabbed a chair, sitting down, with Bintang taking a seat beside her. They sat in silence for a while. Bintang was still deep in his thoughts, reflecting on his inability to save the villagers, while Mira remained quiet.
Understood! Here's your original dialogue, unchanged:
Mira broke the silence and asked Bintang, "Would you like to believe? If I am not from this world?" Bintang, curious about what Mira was asking, looked at her. Mira continued, "Well, not summoned nor reincarnated or anything... In fact, I am..." She looked down with her voice lower, "different..." She looked at Bintang. "My true purpose here is not to dominate the world, conquer, or anything. My purpose here is to capture all of the summoned heroes." Bintang quietly listened to what his sister had to say. "I don't know how to explain it, so I'm just gonna go with telling a story and then explain it after, okay?" Bintang nodded in agreement.
Mira smiled a little before taking a deep breath and telling Bintang a story. She raised her hand and two fingers. "It all began with two being brother and sister, two gods. One is a god of peace, while the other is a god of destruction and freedom. These two gods have different opinions, perspectives, and beliefs." She put her hand back on the table. "The god of harmony believed that all life should have a really good life, and he tried his best to provide that. Meanwhile, the god of destruction wanted to end all life. She believed the only way to give them peace with no more suffering and pain was to end it all, by erasing them from existence, making them unable to be revived or reborn—destroying their souls to pieces so they could never be recovered. And so, with their different beliefs, they once fought. The god of destruction started it and tried to get rid of the god of peace from interfering with her job. Of course, the god of harmony didn't stay silent and fought back. Their battle cracked the sky open, destroying multiple worlds near them. The god of destruction aimed to destroy the worlds the god of harmony created, while the god of harmony tried to protect them all." She looked down. "As far as I knew, the god of peace won the battle but was unable to kill his own sister. Their battle caused 178 worlds to be damaged, with only three actually destroyed. The others survived but also took damage from their battle. The two gods then made an agreement." She looked at Bintang. "Do you know what a coin flip is, right?" Bintang nodded. Mira then continued, "Let's just say they made an agreement. I call it the coin of fate. If the coin flip is heads, then I can guarantee that this world will suffer a lot, unable to fight back. If it was tails, then this world will get really good treatment from the god of harmony." She smiled in happiness after saying it before switching to a more neutral tone. "But for your world, Bintang, there’s just a little problem." She looked at the ceiling. "Somehow, the children . . . . A son from another god, well i simply said it was another god brother of the god of destruction and harmony, the children laid their eyes on this world. They see this as opportunity, wants to use every life here for something meaningfull in his eyes, which you will soon find unpleasant to watch. And I can't explain or... describe that part."
She looked at Bintang. "The god of harmony saw that a few creatures left here followed the path of peace and harmony, so he asked his brother to at least save some of them before claiming this world. The god of destruction wanted fun, so she asked her brother to use this world as... entertainment. At first, the god of harmony refused, but seeing how... chaotic and corrupted this world is, he had no choice but to send his child to save others." She raised her hand, pointing her finger at herself. Bintang remained silent, understanding. Mira smiled and then continued, "My purpose here is to save someone like you before the god of destruction and her brother take control of this place." She put her hand on a table "So far, our job has gone smoothly and is almost complete. And my father left me with one final job, which is capturing all the summoned heroes. As for the granny, she is actually... not my grandma since I don't have a grandma. She is my sister. Trust me, she is adult and young....... What you just saw is her but old..." Mira had a hard time describing it, remaining silent for a moment, thinking of the right word, before continuing, "vessel? I think I can explain that one when you meet my uncle. For now, the only news I can give you is that all the villagers here are still alive but not in this world." Bintang was silent while Mira looked at him, smiling but also worried. Bintang’s eye started to tear up. Mira tapped his shoulder, trying to comfort him. She then asked, "Tell me, Bintang, when I first adopted you, did you feel suspicious of me trying to do something evil using you?" Bintang shook his head in disagreement. Mira smiled. "That’s more like it. I wanted to ask you something." Bintang raised his head, looking at Mira. She then asked, "Would you lend me a hand in capturing your friends?" She extended her hand toward Bintang, waiting. Bintang was uncertain about it, but after thinking for a while, he shook Mira’s hand in agreement. Mira smiled. "Great. I guess that’s all I have to confess. Now grab your stuff. We’re leaving this place." Mira then put her hands in her bag, pulling out some meat and handing it to Bintang, who quickly grabbed it, his tears starting to fall more as he bit into the cooked meat.
Hely then told Mira in a satisfied tone, "Ah... such a beautiful scene." Mira replied, "Agree."
Mira looked out the window, watching as the sun slowly went down. She turned to Bintang and said, "But after the sun rises again, for now we sleep here." Glancing at him, she added, "You go ahead and sleep. Since you protected me last time, how about it's my turn?"
Bintang nodded in agreement, still biting the cooked meat in his hand as he headed upstairs.
Once alone, Mira gazed back at the window, lost in thought. She whispered softly to herself, "I wonder... how they're doing right now without me?" As the night covering the outside window with darkness
