Chapter 6 : A Massage From Above

Chapter 6 : A Massage From Above

"Soon we will reach a nearby village," Mira said from outside the carriage, addressing Bintang, who was inside enjoying a piece of meat, his sharp teeth making quick work of it. "There’s a meeting I need to attend, and you better stay there for a while." She continued, her tone firm, "Keep in mind, you’re forbidden from following me. If you do, you’ll die, but not by my hand, okay?"

Bintang knocked on the front of the carriage, signaling his agreement. Mira nodded, satisfied. "Good. You better stick to that," she replied as Bintang continued devouring his meal.

As the village came into view from afar, Mira smiled. "Finally," she whispered, happy to see their destination approaching.

A few min later, they arrived at the village. Mira quickly hopped down from the driver's seat and knocked on the door of the carriage, signaling Bintang to come out. Bintang opened the door with a bone still in his mouth, looking amazed by the village. It wasn’t what he expected—not dirty or run-down like he had imagined. Suddenly, remembering Mira's earlier warning, he noticed her walking away. Panicking, he grabbed his belongings, jumped off the carriage, closed the door, and ran after her.

Mira stopped at one of the villager’s houses and began knocking on the door. By the time Bintang arrived, out of breath and bowing in exhaustion, Mira chuckled. The door opened, revealing an elderly woman with a warm smile.

"Yes?" the grandma said, before her eyes lit up upon recognizing Mira. "Mira! Where have you been?" she asked with happiness in her voice.

Mira smiled back. "Well, you’ve probably forgotten, but... I failed the test."

The grandma’s face fell. "Aww, don’t be sad. Maybe next time you’ll succeed." She gently touched Mira’s cheek, her fingers soft with affection, before noticing Bintang standing behind her. "And who’s your little friend here?"

Mira quickly snapped back to the moment. "Oh, this is Bintang, but please don’t ask about his past, okay?"

The grandma chuckled. "Don’t worry, dear. I promise I won’t." Then, with a teasing smile, she added, "But you know I was planning to."

Mira playfully narrowed her eyes. "See, I knew it!" Both women laughed before the grandma reassured her, "Alright, alright. I get it. Now, why don’t the two of you come inside?"

She opened the door wider, and Mira quickly entered, followed by a curious Bintang. He marveled at how clean and well-kept the place was, taking in every detail while Mira and her grandma headed to the table. As Bintang wandered around, Mira pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Grandma, can I leave my new brother in your care for a while?" Mira asked, her tone a mix of seriousness and warmth.

The grandma, now opening a window, turned back with a smile. "So, Bintang is your new brother, huh? I guess I have more grandkids to look after. But why exactly?"

Mira sighed, glancing at the empty glass on the table. "Well, there’s a new job for me to complete, and since it’s dangerous... I can’t just take Bintang with me, right? So just for one day, can you take care Bintang please?"

The grandma nodded in understanding. "I see. Alright then, I’ll take care of him. Just be careful out there, okay?"

Mira beamed with gratitude. "Thank you! For a moment, I thought you would—" Before she could finish her sentence, a pie flew straight into her face, splattering everywhere.

Mira froze, her expression blank as she wiped pie off her face. "I should’ve known," she muttered, defeated.

Her grandma cackled in delight. "Ha! Got you, young lady! I may be old, but I still have the spirit of a young woman!" she said triumphantly.

Bintang, witnessing the whole scene, burst out laughing with no voice only his mouth openning like laugh, his amusement clear as he watched Mira stand there, pie still sticking to her face. Mira let out a heavy sigh, her usual calm demeanor cracking under the ridiculousness of the moment. "I really should have known," she muttered again, wiping away the mess as her grandma continued to laugh.

Mira wiped off all the pie left on her face before saying, "Well, I think I can go now." She looked at Bintang. "Don't give her any problems, alright?" Bintang nodded with happiness on his face. Mira stood up. "Goodbye, Grandma, it was nice to meet you." She then weaken her voice "sister..." before then continue her walk, Her grandma replied while wiping away tears after laughing, "Be careful out there." Mira smiled and walked away, opening the front door and exiting the house with a satisfied look on her face.

Grandma then looked at Bintang with a smile. "So, who wants cookies?" Bintang quickly raised his hand. Seeing him so energetic, Grandma got excited. "Alright then, young man, you'd better watch how this legendary grandma makes you a delicious cookie." Bintang raised both of his hands in pure excitement.

Outside the grandma's house, Mira tied the horse's leash to a nearby stick in the ground. As soon as she finished, she quickly started walking away from the village, glancing at the terrifying dark forest not far away, with dark wood and clouds covering the sky above it.

As she walked, she was reminded of something and looked inside her small bag, searching for something. After a few minutes, she found a shiny gold coin, raising it to the sun. "Phew, I thought I forgot about it," she said before holding it in her hand and walking toward the forest.

As soon as she stood in front of it, she paused for a moment. "Did I... come too early?" she wondered before shaking her head.

Mira glanced around, ensuring no one was nearby. Once she was certain she was alone, she reached down and unfastened two buttons on her lower clothes. A dark void-like hole was revealed, where her stomach would be. Slowly, two draconic skeleton heads emerged. One was white and majestic, emanating an angelic aura, while the other had four horns, red and twisted, exuding a more demonic presence.

As soon as they emerged, Mira casually reached into the void, her hand disappearing inside as she searched for something. The red dragon, its voice full of irritation, broke the silence. "Haaaaaa, fresh air. It's been a long time since I smelled it."

Mira's forehead eye narrowed in confusion. "It's not even been a year," she replied before mimicking the dragon’s exaggerated tone, "Haaaa, fresh air, it’s been a long time." She then resumed her normal tone. "You act like you've been trapped for centuries."

The demonic dragon stretched its neck, glaring at her. "You think it's fun to be in solitary confinement for a single day, huh?"

Mira’s forehead eye half-closed in mild exasperation as she shot a look back at the red dragon. "It’s hardly solitary if you’ve got company, and besides, you're not my prisoner."

The white dragon, clearly uncomfortable with the brewing tension, interjected. "Please don’t bring me into this."

Both Mira and the red dragon sighed in unison. "Fine, we won’t," they replied together, before the red dragon stared down at Mira, its irritation still evident.

Mira, unfazed, continued rummaging inside the void, finally pulling out a small bag. She opened it and began sifting through its contents while the red dragon loomed over, peering into the bag with curiosity.

After a moment of searching, Mira pulled a phone from the bag. She unlocked it and quickly began typing, her fingers moving fluidly across the screen.

“Mira: P”

“Mira: I’m here, where are you?”

She waited with a small smile, glancing at the screen in anticipation. A few moments passed before the response came through.

“CoolCommander: Yeah, we're here. Get inside already. We’re onto the next step.”

Satisfied, Mira closed her phone, placing it back into the bag before securing it over her shoulder. Without a second thought, she began walking, entering the dark forest ahead, her expression calm as she moved forward without question.

Mira walked deeper into the forest. The white dragon stretched itself over her shoulder, resting its head gently. “I wonder what our next move is…” it mused softly.

The red dragon, looking ahead with little interest, grumbled, “Meh, I just want to get this finished.”

Mira nodded in agreement.

“Ticket, please?~” A soft, echoing voice reached her ears. Recognizing it immediately, Mira quickly opened her bag, rummaging through it. After a moment, she pulled out a clean, shiny golden coin and raised it. A figure appeared, swiftly taking the coin from her hand and inspecting it closely. Mira smiled at the shadowy figure. “How is it, Uncle?”

The dark figure’s echoing voice responded, “Clean, shiny, goldy…” His excitement suddenly burst forth. “NOW THIS IS A GOOD QUALITY!” His dark face revealed itself, illuminated by five glowing eyes—three yellow and two red—with a bright, wide grin splitting his face.

“I knew you would like it,” Mira said with a smile, “I also have a bag of them.”

“REALLY? Give me the bag!” The dark figure’s excitement was palpable. Mira reached into her bag and tossed the bag of coins toward him. He caught it, panicking slightly before scolding her in frustration. “Don’t you dare throw shiny coins like that again! If they get dirty, their value goes down!”

Mira couldn’t help but laugh, happy to see her uncle again. “So, where is she?” she asked with a smile.

Realizing who Mira was asking about, the dark figure quickly replied, “Follow me, we’re ready.” He started walking ahead.

As they made their way deeper into the forest, Mira glanced around, following the dark figure, who was now distracted, inspecting the coins in the bag one by one. His eyes gleamed with interest.

“So,” the dark figure spoke up, still inspecting the coins, “we heard the news about your rejection from that hero party.”

Mira sighed. “Yes. Just like Father told me, no one here wanted to accept a summoner—neither the army nor the hero party. I kind of understand why.”

The dark figure paused for a moment, giving her a quick glance before continuing to inspect the coins. “Apparently, we got word from the… uhh… second-rank demon king about humans invading her territory. I’m not surprised it’s taking them time to free the slaves before moving on.”

Mira’s eyebrows raised in surprise. “Wait, why aren’t they moving now?”

The dark figure explained, “Well, the demon king refuses to leave her homeland. I quite understand why, since it’s where she was born. Makes it difficult for both sides.”

The red dragon then asked, "So that means we can make any safe moves as long as the Demon Queen remains... stubborn?"

The dark figure replied with a serious tone, "Yep, my brother told me no innocent should be harmed."

Mira remained quiet, processing the information, while the white dragon sleeping on her shoulder, the dark figure continued. “Well, the only good news is that she’s willing to spread the word and wait for her people to choose whether to move or not.”

The red one spoke while looking at Mira, "Well, that’s bad news for us because it’s not like we were ordered to keep them safe," then looked at the dark figure, "She just created a problem for all of us."

“This is not good,” Mira quickly replied, “She’s making it more difficult than our original plan.” Mira looked at the red dragon " So, have any good idea to solve this?"

The red one stared at Mira, "Well, actually..." Before she could finish what was on her mind.

Another voice, this time a girl’s, echoed through the trees. “Good news for us, though, is that my father has already sent three motherships, and they’re on their way here. He wants this done quickly so they can be transported to Unit S4.”

Mira turned her head. “That’s good news. Please tell me there’s no bad news.” The red dragon, who had been looking in the direction the voice came from, laughed in disbelief. He knew exactly what was about to happen.

A robot with a metallic body emerged from the shadows, each step producing a distinct clank. Her right eye was shattered, leaving behind a giant red eye glowing ominously in the broken socket. A massive gun, like a sniper rifle, rested on her back, and she wore a dark robe.

“The only bad news,” the robot began, her voice disappointed, “is that Lord Fanisia, well…”

Mira’s face fell instantly. “Please no…”

The red one quickly said in a disappointed tone, "Yep, can't change her mind."

“Sorry,” the robot replied, her tone flat. “That’s how it goes.”

Mira groaned, hunching over in disappointment. “Aw, come on!” She slumped even further, her gaze fixed on the ground. “I want to go home as soon as possible.”

The red dragon skull, hearing the news, could only accept it with a look of unhappiness, resigning herself to the situation. She glanced at Mira, who was equally disappointed after hearing the news.

The robot leaned back against a nearby tree, her metal body groaning with the motion. “Well, I’m sorry. Your father tried to convince her, but you know him. He’s too weak to say no.”

Mira’s frustration lingered, but all she could do was shake her head, still disappointed by the news.

The robot looked at Mira. "Don't be overdramatic about this."

Mira shot back, "Easy for you to say that because you were having fun, Eli. But not for me."

Eli sighed, clearly tired of this conversation, before switching the subject. "We’ll talk about this later once we get home. For now..." She stopped leaning against the tree and started walking. "This is not a good place to talk about it." She walked past both Sirius and Mira. The dark figure glanced at Mira briefly before following Eli, and Mira followed after the dark figure moved.

Not long after they walked, they arrived at a small, abandoned house with no door. Eli stopped at the doorway, letting Mira and the dark figure enter first, The red dragon glanced around the place, her expression neutral as she took in the dirty and dark surroundings. Meanwhile, the white dragon lay peacefully, still asleep on Mira’s shoulder, oblivious to the tension in the air. She scanned the surroundings outside the abandoned house, checking if anyone had followed them before stepping inside. She then turned on a light, and suddenly, the once dirty room transformed, becoming clean and furnished with a soft, fancy sofa and a table in front of it. The dark figure immediately leapt onto the sofa, savoring the softness, while Mira sat down, waiting, followed by Eli who sat beside her.

They waited in silence, with the dark figure still enjoying the comfort of the sofa, until the silence was broken by a letter that appeared mid-air, falling onto the table. Eli reached for it, but Mira quickly snatched it first, not giving Eli a chance. Eli glared at Mira, who only smiled back, before leaning into the sofa. Mira opened the letter followed by the red one looking at the letter beside Mira head, Mira read it aloud:

"From Marvell:

So after discussing with Fanisia for, like, a long time I suppose? We both decided to soon end it, but only after all conditions are fulfilled.

1.) Sirius will charge toward the summon hero whereabouts. They haven’t made any move for some stupid reason, which all of you will find weird, but also at the same time disgusting. Sirius will charge at them and lose, to make them believe they are the strongest and to boost their confidence.

We’ve decided on Sirius’ stats, so Mira, do the job please:

Health: 999,999,999

Physical Defense: Extremely High

Magic Defense: Extremely High

Type Of Enemy : Bos

As for skills or whatever, I’ll leave that to Sirius. He’s good at naming and voicing them."

As Mira continued reading, the red dragon's eyes widened in surprise at the mention of Sirius' health, defense, and the type of enemy he was. "Woah," she murmured in amazement, clearly impressed by the stats.

"2.) According to Spectra Intel Division, there are more than 25,789 slaves left in the world. I suppose Elytra can handle that with her squad.

3.) After these two conditions are fulfilled... Sorry if you dislike this, Mira. Mira will also fight the hero, capturing them one by one. Caleb from the Military Division told me it would be trouble capturing the hero one by one, especially considering how powerful they are. Even though the military can handle it themselves, they want you to do it since it’ll be much faster."

Mira paused, visibly disappointed after reading this, while Eli and Sirius remained silent. Mira continued:

"I believe you’ll do it. I’m watching you from above, and I see how much you regret coming into this place, so as compensation, we’ll talk about this further once you get home, alright? I believe you have a lot on your mind. After all the conditions are fulfilled, the STFD will take it from here, along with Fanisia, who’s also growing interested in something. That’s all. Wish you all luck. Bye."

Mira ended with, "The end,"

Mira and the red one glancing at the dark figure, Sirius, who seemed excited, his smile widening as he stared at the letter. Eli, on the other hand, looked at the letter in Mira’s hands before gazing up at the ceiling. "Well, if it’s slave-freeing that he’s asking for, I better get going." She stood up and glanced at Mira, who was still seated. "You know what to do, right?"

Mira looked at Eli with a neutral expression and nodded at the letter. "Yeah, wish you luck."

In a blink, Eli disappeared with incredible speed, leaving Mira and Sirius alone in the small house.

The red dragon quickly let out her frustration, "I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS!" she screamed out loud into the air, her voice filled with anger. Meanwhile, Mira remained focused on the letter, unfazed by the outburst, while the white dragon on her shoulder shifted slightly but continued to sleep soundly. Meanwhile Sirius screamed in excitement, "YES, FINALLY!" He stood up in pure exhilaration after hearing the news, while Mira remained in a disappointed state, still staring at the letter. Suddenly, another letter appeared and dropped onto the table. Mira quickly grabbed it and started reading. Sirius looked confused until Mira burst out laughing after reading it followed by the red one reading it with a low voice and burst out laughing. Confusion consumed Sirius, and he quickly snatched the letter from Mira's hands as she continued laughing. Sirius read:

"Oh yeah, Fanisia decided Sirius should have a girl voice. So, as soon as Sirius grabs this letter, his voice will change into a more cute, girly voice."

Sirius immediately disliked the idea. "Oh, this is absurd!" His voice suddenly shifted to a more, friendly, cute girl voice. Realizing the change, he shouted in anger, "NO, WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" Mira laughed uncontrollably, unable to believe what she just heard. Sirius grabbed Mira's shoulders, desperate. "YOU WILL NOT REMEMBER THIS AND PRETEND YOU NEVER HEARD IT."

Mira, still laughing, responded, "Ok, hahahaha, ok... I... hehehe... got it." Tears began falling from the eye on her forehead as she continued laughing.

The red dragon herself trying to hold back laughter. Her mouth trembled as she struggled to keep it shut, her frustration mixing with a sense of disbelief that almost made the situation comical. She pressed her lips together, trying not to burst out laughing as her eyes darted between Sirius and Mira.

Sirius sat silently, arms crossed, staring at Mira. Finally, after calming down, Mira asked, "So, where do we start?"

Sirius, still irritated, said, "Of course, change my..." His words were cut off as Mira chuckled again at his voice. Sirius took a deep breath, trying to remain calm, and continued, "Change my stats, and I'll do the rest."

Mira smiled, still holding back laughter. "Oki," she replied, standing up and looking at Sirius while barely containing her amusement.
