The wind blew hard on his face as he took a deep breath and exhaled. Standing on a hill near a town below, he looked over to the distance and saw the sun set over the horizon. He then sat on the grassy ground, feeling the sharp blades of the plants beneath him. He continued to stare at the distance, seeing a flock of birds fly across the sky and the livestock grazing below.
"This..." he paused. "This is what people strive for in life; happening right in front of my eyes." Suddenly, the scenery changed from a beautiful countryside to what seemed to be a battlefield littered with blood and debris scattered everywhere. The grassy ground turned into dark stone as he stared at the five individuals that appeared in front of him. He smirked at the sight, angering one of them.
"You're not going to let me off easy like last time, right?" he taunted. "So, any more words until the play starts?"
They all rushed towards him, their eyes red from anger and rage. Just as they were about to reach him with their weapons, a sudden ring was heard throughout the area, slowly getting louder.
And louder, and louder, and louder.....
[Ring-Ring-Ring-Ring-Ring-Ring]
Yuri woke up to the sound of his alarm clock ringing right beside his head. He grabbed the clock and pressed the button at the top to turn it off. He then rolled to the side of the bed and dropped the clock at the carpet floor below, almost shattering the glass that covers the front of the device.
'This scene feels so unoriginal as hell,' he thought. 'Why do you always have to ruin shit up?'
He then stood up, stared into a wall for a few minutes, and before he left the room, he fixed up his bed first and cleaned up the mess from his desk that he left there during the night before. The moment he stepped out of his room, he hastily went to the dining area since he could smell the delicious scent of fried eggs being cooked by his mother. After taking breakfast, he went back to his room and grabbed his phone placed on the desk of his. He checked the time, and it was 8:56 in the morning. Quite early for his standards, since he mostly wakes up at 9:00 or maybe even in the afternoon depending on when he slept.
"Thank god it's Saturday," he muttered under his breath as he went to his computer and pressed the button, turning it on. The fans began to spin, creating a humming sound that echoed throughout the room. A blue light lit up the insides of the computer, indicating that it's powered. He then sat on his chair and leaned on the backrest of the seat, waiting for the computer to load up everything.
After it finished, he hovered his mouse over a game launcher that plays "Minecraft," the most sold video game of all time. He double-clicked it and waited for it to load up.
The launcher's interface included a feature that allowed users to download files directly from the curseforge website within the launcher itself. This gave it a pretty high reputation among the community due to its conveniency. It had a modpack section where users could download the most popular packs available, a mod file section where users could download mods to create a new modpack for their tastes, etc.
He went to the mod section and searched up any good mods to download so he could add it to his modpack. Quality Tools, Biomes O' Plenty, Better Animals Plus, all that he could think off during the search was a thought in his mind--could these mods be compatible with each other?
Scrolling through countless mods that may or may not have been useful, he stumbles upon a mod file that looked... strange. Almost like it's calling out to him. He brushes off this feeling and clicks the file to read its description.

'What the hell even is this?' he thought.
No pictures, no links, just a strange description and an install button for the mod. He immediately thought it was a scam, but when he took a look at the file size of the mod, his jaw dropped, because it was almost a gigabyte in size.
Looks pretty small for the perspective of a modder, but don't let that deceive you. Most of the mods in his pack folder don't even exceed the megabyte mark, which is a thousand kilobytes. The largest mod in his folder, "Vic's Modern Warfare," only has a JAR file size of about 26 megabytes.
"How the fuck?!" he exclaimed as he pressed the install button without hesitating. "I gotta see what's inside of this!"
This was an incredibly dangerous move of him, since the file could've been a virus or something more. His guts told him not to install it, but curiosity got the best of him.
Thirty seconds later after he began to download the mod, it finished installing. He instantly pressed the launch button, which plays the game. After the initialization process, it began to load up the game.

"Can I edit this?" he muttered as he hovered his mouse over the text (worldtype), showing the description of the option.
[What type of world you're going to generate. You can add anything here. EX: "Fantasy" "Anime Fantasy" "Cyberpunk" "Isekai Anime Cyberpunk Sci-Fi" etc...]

"What does it mean that I can add anything here? You mean like... anything?" he questioned as he began to edit the textbox, clearing out ("Fantasy"). After a moment of silence, he typed out the words. ("Isekai Anime Fantasy") on it.
"Seriously dude, I have a crippling edginess disease here. I think I'm not going to last very long," he then went back to the starting menu, not touching the other options since he doesn't want to edit something that's too important. He then clicked on (Allow Cheats) and (Bonus Chests), enabling them both.
After staring at the screen for a few seconds, he clicked on (Create New World), sending him to the loading screen.

Yuri found his character standing in a village. Thanks to the mod he installed called "Village Spawn Point," it ensured that whenever he created a new world, he would always start in a village. However, he felt like something was wrong.
Everything looked deserted and destroyed, like the village was in an aftermath of a raid. Taking a moment to investigate his surroundings, he found out that everything was... so different. For example, the paths look like they were modded into oblivion, and the buildings looked more diverse than usual. He moved his character around the place, his eyes wide open due to world being so unusual.
"What the fuck is this...? E-Everything looks so... amazing!" he exclaimed as he walked on the dirt road, the steps of his character echoing throughout the village.
Suddenly, something caught his attention in the distance. There, he spotted what seemed to be a carriage with a horse attached to it. However, something seemed off-- no. There was something wrong with the transport. The carriage appeared in a state of disrepair. Its front wheels were missing, and the structure looked like it had received extensive damage.
...
"I-I downloaded a carriage mod?!!" he exclaimed as he pressed (C), zooming in on the vehicle.
(Optifine Mod)
"Impossible, I don't remember downloading such a mod in the first place!" Letting go of the keybind, he sprinted and bunny-hopped towards the carriage, forgetting that he could just fly over to the vehicle without any effort.
Items were scattered all over the place, and somehow he could smell the stench of blood emitting from his monitor. He hastily paused the game and tried to find where the smell came from, but it disappeared. Confused, he then unpaused the game. That's when the strong stench came back.
He paused and unpaused the game repeatedly, trying to make sense of what's happening. Each time he unpaused the game, the smell would come back instantaneously, only to disappear when he paused it again.
After some attempts of investigation, he decided to let the matter slide and continue playing. Walking close to the carriage, the stench grew stronger. Items of what looked like flesh were scattered around the place.
'Maybe it's these items are the ones causing the smell...' he thought. 'Wait, how can the smell from inside a game be recreated in real life?! Unless it's some kind of black magic, it's not supposed to work like that! Or something...'
"How does this even work?! Is this literal magic?!" he exclaimed as he opened up his inventory and went to the weapons section. He grabbed a Diamond Sword and equipped it in his hotbar. "It's just a safety sword, since I literally don't know what's going to happen."
"Let me enchant this real quick," he said as he pressed [/], enabling the command bar.

"Alright, this sword's overpowered enough," he muttered as he went closer to the carriage.
The stench was now at its peak. Yuri covered his nose out of pure disgust. He paused the game, trying to figure out where was it coming from.
"It's inside the fucking carriage! I can't bare the smell!" he exclaimed as he unpaused the game and went behind the damaged vehicle, exposing what's hidden inside.
Huddled in a corner, was a person. Or an NPC? He doesn't even know since this was his first time experiencing something like this. He entered the carriage, slowly tapping the [W] key to imitate the "man finds strange person" trope to add tension to the atmosphere.
Slowly but surely, Yuri found out more about the "person." The stench was coming from him, since the smell was at it's absolute peak that he might've fallen unconscious if he was so sensitive to it. He looked like he didn't wash himself for an entire decade, and its skin had a mixture of the color gray and brown.
"Oh my fucking god, is this person a literal discord moderator?" he chuckled at the sight. Then, a thought came to him.
"Oh, will this work?" he questioned as he pressed a keybind on his keyboard, enabling the (Simple Voice Chat) mod.

...
"Hey there, dingus."
The person in front of Yuri instantly turned to him, revealing that he was a zombie all along.
"Holy shit, that scared the hell o--"
The man screamed at him and charged at his character.
"WOAH!"
But due to him being in creative mode, the man couldn't damage him at all. Yuri looked at the man's face, which was enveloped in rage due to the disease and made a smug face.
"A futile attempt, may you rest in peace."
He swung his Sharpness 5, Fire Aspect 2, Knockback 2, Unbreaking 3, Mending Diamond Sword at the person, throwing him out of the carriage and into the road outside, instantly killing him. The body burned for a couple of seconds, before disappearing into a puff of smoke and dropping a cooked meat item on the ground.
"Finally, the smell kind of dissipated."
Even with that person gone, he could still smell something revolting outside. Irritated, he exited the carriage and followed the stench, which leads to the front of the carriage where the horse was.
"Maybe it's the horse's shit?"
Arriving at the front, he looks at the animal- which was staring into the abyss with literally no sense of his surroundings whatsoever. Confused, he noticed something in the horse's eyes- its irises were dilated pure white and there was something at the other side.
Slowly walking towards the other side of the animal, he now notices blood dripping onto the ground from the horse's head. 'Blood?' he thought. He just shrugs it off since logic doesn't apply to this session right now, but he just couldn't stop thinking about it at the moment. 'I don't remember downloading any of this quality improving shit! When I downloaded that mod, I should've expected this.'
Then, the scene which sent shivers down Yuri's spine. What looked like huge maggots were infesting the horse's head, neck, and body on the right side. The worms wiggled in the meat, causing him to want to tear off his own skin in disgust.
(CAPS LOCK) - Microphone disabled
"Holy fucking shit... this poor bastard!" he exclaimed as he slashed his Enchanted Diamond Sword at the horse, setting it on fire. It burned for a few seconds before it succumbed to its injuries. It fell on its body, and after a few seconds- it disappeared into a puff of smoke. What's left of it were pieces of cooked meat and leather on the ground.
"What the hell even is this shit? What am I playing here?"
