I no longer knew how long I've been sitting down there. The sounds didn't cease assaulting my ears and seemed to be coming from every direction, filling my hole with unbearable noise. Hours passed, until they slowly started decreasing in volume, as if their sources decided to leave.
And so the sounds continued to decrease. After some time they became barely noticeable whispers, and later, finally everything became entirely silent. It felt like a blessing from the lord...
Still, before I even tried digging myself out of my home-made "cave", I had waited for about twenty minutes. I was happy indeed, but not to a degree to forget about the horrors of the past night that might have not left yet.
And so, after ensuring my safety I once again started digging, if I can even call it that… However, this time it turned out to be harder than the last. Due to being squeezed in this tiny space, I didn't have enough space for my arm to swing, reducing the power of my hits. So yeah, long story short, It took me five times longer to break a single block, than back then when I mined out two of them! So what was it? Ten minutes? Seems right… Anyway, finally after a horrendous effort, I managed to mine (or rather punch) out the dirt that was keeping me in and broke out.
When the block disappeared, I could finally see the blue sky again. At that moment I felt such joy, it felt like ages since I had seen it last time. It was just simply… beautiful. After I had a bit of contemplating about nature's beauty, I decided to climb out of the pit that my cave has now become. It did not seem easy, as the pit's walls were very smooth, without anywhere to support yourself while climbing, even though they were made out of just dirt,... or earth. Huh, I still don't know what to call it...
Without further planning I decided to just make a staircase by simply breaking a block on the side, and in case I had to hide once again I would just block the entrance by placing it back. So, after another minute it broke, and I was finally able to emerge on the surface. Luckily, when I came out, there were no monsters on sight. I sighed in relief. The sun-looking-cube was over the horizon in the East. I estimated that it had to be somewhat around morning.

"Now what?" Was the first thing I asked myself, because it was apparently the biggest problem then. I did somehow survive the night, and assure myself that this definitely isn't earth. "Currently I don't know what I should even do… For now, I'll just make that hole bigger, just in case if I'll have to spend another night there… To Be honest, It can't be avoided, can it?"
After a bit of a pessimistic monologue, I once again descended beneath the surface, into my "hideout",... apparently if that's what you can call a 2 meter deep dirt hole,... I slowly began to expand it. I started with excavating the floor. After all, I didn't want to spend as much time on digging out as I just did. As I dug the dirt I was standing on, I immediately fell down a meter, landed on the block that fell out after I destroyed it, tripped on it , lost my balance and ultimately planted my face on the wall, and for the fricks sake did it hurt. Apparently if your face were to slide on a dirt wall, It would cause a lot of bruises, therefore pain…
"Lesson... learnt,... never dig the block you're standing on… Ouch'' I grunted to myself as I was standing up after being defeated by an immovable object… "At least no one saw it,… Ugh..."
After I stood up from my miserable accident, I got ready to dig again. I went and dug out the walls alongside the one in the corner. I've also dug up the stairs again so they could reach there. It went pretty quickly, it took a bit less than a quarter hour and once I've finished I was pretty content with myself,… obviously if we neglect the burning pain in my face...
After admiring the fruit of my hard work, I decided to take a short nap. Last night left me sleep deprived and I've been feeling worn out since I had come to this god forsaken land. I slowly laid down on earth and as I was closing my eyes, I started mumbling to myself "I hope, that when I wake up *yawn* it'll all be just a dream… a fever dream…". As I said that my thoughts gradually calmed down and began drifting a way into the sweet embrace of dreams…
