The moment that I saw her tiny hands, I was captivated. Grabbing my finger while looking at me with her eyes that looks like the sky, I can’t help but shed tears.
A man that lost his family and friends, even the one that he loves, a man who lost everything that he cares.
Just seeing those eyes looks at me with curiosity, eyes that doesn’t show any fear. I can’t help but shed tears as I hug her tiny body.
Bringing her to where I stay, I cared for her. Not caring how the world looks at me, a being who lost everything and took revenge by killing everyone, I stopped caring as I poured everything that I have to raising her.
Years went by, that tiny being grew into a cheerful child. Pestering me to play with her, I continued to do whatever it is to make her happy.
Watching her grow slowly, I started teaching her everything that I know of so she can protect herself. A precious treasure that I will never be able to bear to lose.
Feeling her warm hands when she drags me around, her sleeping face as she doesn’t allow me to leave before she sleeps. Things in which that I can’t help but treasure, moments that I never wanted to end.
Looking at her every year, she got older and became a beautiful girl. Even though her aura is of a cheerful fighter, I can’t help but be happy looking at her.
Even with an aged body of mine, I can’t help but be happy for her. My disciple, my daughter, my one and only treasure.
“Dad! Stop staring blankly and go with me to the town to buy some stuff.”
Saying those words to an old man, I can’t help but smile bitterly as I stand up to follow my daughter towards the town.
Just watching her be someone different than me, I was glad. A normal girl that can protect herself from danger, a girl that can cherish people instead of drown from despair and revenge.
As more time passes, she became an adventurer, a well-known adventurer, an adventurer that they call hero.
Knowing that she does dangerous missions, I can’t help but become worried.
Days where comes home becomes lesser and lesser and days her being more injured as she comes home increases, I had to say it.
“Please… stop doing any adventuring from now on…”
Feeling shock from my words, she looks at me. Those eyes that looks like the sky, I can’t help but clench my hand. The eyes that I always knew when she’s not going to listen to me.
Giving up, I made her do whatever she wanted.
Year passes by, a fear that every parents doesn’t want to happen occur to her.
Looking at her on the bed unconscious, I can’t help but be plunge to despair. A feeling of helplessness, a feeling of not being able to do because she will never listen to me and do what she thinks is right.
Those thoughts continues in my brain… the thought of losing my precious daughter.
As days passes by, she never woke up. A curse that will never disappear until it slowly saps the life out of her, a curse that will never disappear until the one who casted it to her dies.
Holding her hand tightly as I can feel it slowly gets colder, I can’t help but shed tear.
“I… I’ll make sure you will be happy… my daughter… I will not let you die.”
Leaving those words, I leave the place
Carrying a sword, I continue forward without caring about the people around me. Without caring how I will die.
Moving without care, I start killing those that tries to kill me. Humans, demons, monsters, a thoughtless killing that I never thought that I will ever do even with an aged body.
“Just wait for dad to save you… I will definitely do so.”
A body with injuries, a body that is bleeding, a blurry eyes and pain shooting through my body with every move I take. I continue to kill till I arrive in front of a being that they call the demon king.
“A puny human. I am surprised you were able to hold on to come in here, unfortunately you will die.”
Feeling my daughter’s presence somewhere in the room, I look toward the place where her presence is with my blurry eyes.
“Don’t… worry… daddy… will… save… you…”
Muttering those words, I move forward only to be sent flying away from her presence.
“You dare to ignore your death.”
Standing up while using my sword as a cane, I move and attack the being that stopped me. Swinging and swinging, I didn’t stop swinging as I continue to move towards the thing that cursed my daughter.
“AGH! YOU!!! YOU HUMAN!!!”

Arriving in front of it, I smash my sword with everything that I have. Feeling it getting destroyed, I was sure that my sword shattered along with it.
“Ah…”
Not being able to utter a single word, I kneel down.
“Being able to take my arm while in that kind of state, you are a monster among monsters.”
Kneeling while everything that I see is blurred, I can only think of my daughter.
‘Is she well? Did she wake up? I hope that she will eat properly.’
Having those thoughts, I can’t help smile. With how much I changed, I can’t help but feel lonely.
“Die, you monster of a human.”
Feeling something pierce my chest, memories from before I became a monster appears, memories of me killing people, and lastly, memories of me living along with my daughter.
A peaceful memory that I wanted to treasure, a memory that I will never forget.
Feeling something warm on my cheeks, I am sure that I am crying.
“Please… be happy… my… treasure…”
As my consciousness slowly fades, I suddenly saw her when she was just a child. A smile that shines so bright, a smile that she has when she said that she never wanted to leave my side… a smile that I wanted to see even once…
“My… dau… ghter…”
Reaching out to that smiling face, I smile as life disappears from my body.
