I woke up for the first time in a long time feeling well rested. My bones weren’t aching anywhere, and it felt amazing. I stared up at the ceiling completely spread out on the bed. Is this what it is like to live in a pack?
It’s probably only the people that get to stay in the pack house. Lilith got me thinking about how the rest of the pack got to live. I was pulled from my thoughts when there was an extremely loud knock on the bedroom door. I got out of the bed and went to open the door only to be met with a pair of blue and green eyes glaring down at me. What does he want? I’m pretty sure he hates my guts and wants nothing to do with me.
Ooo we get to see mister sexy. This is turning into a good morning.
“What do you want?” I sneered at him. He took a deep breath before answering my question.
“You are to come with me to the training grounds.” He sounded as if he was in pain from just spilling out those words.
“And why exactly would I do that?” I leaned on the door frame crossing my arms. So we could hang out with him duh. I was trying so hard to not snap at Lilith. It was way too early to be dealing with a horny wolf. Niklaus let out a frustrated sigh as he slapped his hand to his forehead.
“Because it is Alpha’s orders that you are to help me train the new generation of fighters in this pack whether I like it or not.” He ran his fingers through his hair, “and I can’t train them by myself since I am still recovering from the broken ribs you gave me.” He pointed toward his rib cage.
“Okay but what does that have to do with the Alpha wanting me to help you?” I was not all for helping with training early in the morning. Niklaus let out a growl.
“Look, I'm not going to argue about this. These are Alpha orders and I do not feel like disobeying my Alpha. Trust me I don’t like this idea any more than you probably do.” I scuffed at his statement. “I’m going to give you 10 minutes to meet me in the garage by my truck before I get the Alpha involved.” With that he stormed off down the hallway to the stairs. I went back into my room slamming the door shut letting out a frustrated sigh. I went to my shopping bags from yesterday, pulling out a tank top and a pair of leggings. I headed towards the bathroom to change and brush my hair and teeth. Once I was done with that I headed back to my bed while grabbing a pair of my Demonias. I sat on the bed and proceeded to get my almost knee-high platforms on. Once I deemed, I looked okay enough, I made my way downstairs to see Niklaus walking through the main doors. He was about to make his way upstairs until he saw me.
“About fucking time!” He growled out.
“You do realize it takes some girls a lot longer than 10 minutes to get ready in the morning.” I growled back at him
“Ugh whatever let’s get going we are already late as it is” He turned around and headed back out the main doors. I followed him out to his truck where I again struggled with trying to get in the truck. “I don’t have time for this.” Niklaus then proceeded to pick me up and set me in the seat. I glared at him as he walked around the truck and went into the driver seat. “What?!” He sneered.
“I would appreciate it if you didn’t just grab me and pick me up.” He gripped the steering wheel to the point his knuckles were turning white. He started to mumble to himself, but he did not once acknowledge what I said. He opened the garage door while turning on the truck. I Slouched in the seat as he drove off.
You have to admit he is pretty strong.
No I do not Lilith. And since you like him so much why don’t you deal with him instead of me.
Nah. I would rather spend time with his wolf.
As we were driving down the road, I stared out the front windshield taking in the scenery of the pack. That was until I saw a little girl with black hair and a teenage boy with blonde hair run out in the middle of the road. I was expecting Niklaus to slow down to prevent hitting them but when he didn’t, I panicked. “STOP!!” I screamed, causing Niklaus to slam on his breaks. I put my arms out to catch myself before I hit the dashboard.
“What the fuck is your problem!” He faced me screaming and putting the truck in park.
“There is a little girl and teenage boy in the middle of the road, and you were about to hit them!” I growled at him.
“What are you talking about?” He gave me a confused look, “there was no one in the middle of the road and besides the younger pups of the pack are not allowed to be this close to the pack house.” When I looked back to the road, the little girl and boy were gone. I looked around the area but didn’t see them at all.

“But I could have sworn” I calmed down my breathing, leaning back into my seat.
“Now if you are done with your little outburst I’m going to start driving again” He put the truck back into drive. The rest of the way to the training ground I reassured myself that I was just imagining things. Even though I could have sworn I saw the teenage boy look right at me as though he heard me when I screamed for Niklaus to stop the truck. This morning is going to shits.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was breathing heavily while leaning over with my hands on my knees. I felt like I could not get enough air into my lungs and felt lightheaded. I raised my head to see Niklaus walking over to me with a bottle of water. He stopped right in front of me holding out the water to me. I snatched the bottle out of his hands and immediately started drinking from it.
“You know if you put your arms above your head you will have an easier time breathing.” Niklaus softly spoke. That was the first time he spoke to me without a growl or anger in his voice. He grabbed my free arm and made it rest over the top of my head, “It helps open up your airway and you are less likely to pass out.” He took the water bottle from my hand and did the same thing with that arm. Surprisingly enough it did feel like I could breathe easier, but I still felt lightheaded.
“Why does it feel like I am the one being trained instead of training others?” I finally spoke out. “I thought I was supposed to be helping you train the other wolves?” I slowly got my breathing to a steady pace hoping it will help with the light headedness.
“Oh you are,” there was proudness in his voice. “You are helping me by showing them what it looks like to be out of shape if they ever decide to slack off in their training.” I shot daggers into his head as he just stood there smirking. I went to take a step towards him, but I got light headed really badly and lost my balance. I prepared to hit the ground but instead there was an arm wrapped around my abdomen, preventing me from face planting the ground. I grabbed the arm to see it was attached to Niklaus. “Okay I think it will be a good idea to have you sit down for a while.” He proceeded to pick me up and carry me over to a bench by a wall. Aww look at him trying to be sweet to us. He set me down on the bench. He squatted down to get eye level with me and put his hand under my chain examining my face. “Yea I think it will be better to have you lay down for a bit. You look a little flushed” He helped me lay down on the bench, “why don’t you stay here until the end of training.” I closed my eyes while putting my arm over my eyes. Shortly after I passed out.
I woke up to being carried bridal style. I looked up to see it was Niklaus carrying me. I looked ahead of us and noticed he was walking towards the pack house. I put one of my hands to his chest causing him to stop walking.
“I can walk on my own from here.” He gently put me on my feet. I went to take a step but instantly became lightheaded. I flung my hand to my head. Niklaus instantly put his arm around my abdomen again. “I guess I can’t,” Niklaus picked me back up and headed into the pack house. He took me upstairs to my bedroom where he laid me down on the bed. A few minutes later, Lilly came bursting into the room.
“What happened?” Lilly came over to the bed and started to examine me, “why were you having to carry her into the pack house?” She turned and glared at Niklaus.
“I might have overworked her.” Niklaus rubbed the back of his neck and he started to slowly back away from Lilly. Lilly took a few steps towards him. “But I did stop when I noticed she was getting ready to pass out.” He put his hands up in a self-defense form.
“Oh and that is supposed to make it all better?” Lilly started to raise her voice a bit. I got up from the bed and grabbed her arm to prevent her from doing anything to him. She turned and looked at my hand that was warped around her arm.
“It’s not his fault that I nearly passed out,” I let go of her arm and faced away from her. “I didn’t eat anything all day,” I barely went over a whisper. Next thing I hear is something being slammed against a wall. I looked over to see Lilly had Niklaus pinned up against the wall with a fist full of his shirt in her hand. I quickly get out of the bed and attempt to get in between them. “He didn’t know. It's my fault for not saying anything” I could not let him take the blame for something he had no knowledge of. Oh look at you caring for someone.
I never said I was heartless.
Lilly let go of Niklaus “This better not happen again. Do you understand Niklaus?” Niklaus quickly nodded his head and escaped out the door. “Now for you,” I slowly cowered away from her back to my bed, “how could you go without food all day? You do realize you could have passed out and seriously hurt yourself at the training grounds?” It felt weird to have someone actually act like they care about me. “Why didn’t you tell Niklaus? He may seem like an ass sometimes, but he would never let anyone starve even if that person sent him to the hospital.” I feel like I’m never going to live that down.
Well we are pretty badass.
Oh shut up Lilith. Now is no the time. “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again okay?” I laid down in bed and cuddled up with a blanket and pillow. “I can be left alone right now please.” I already felt bad enough about almost getting Niklaus in trouble. I heard Lilly sigh and the door shut. I was getting ready to close my eyes when I saw the same teenage boy from this morning standing outside the window on the balcony. I got out of bed and walked towards the window. With every step I took closer to the boy, the boy would take a step back closer to the railing. I opened the window, but the boy leaned over the railing and fell off. “Wait,” I rushed over to the railing to grab the boy only to see that he had disappeared. I scanned the whole ground below and saw no trace that he was ever here.
What the fuck is going on??
