I was working on paperwork when my little sister, Lilly, walked into my office. I briefly looked up at her as she took a seat on one of the many chairs. I went back to focusing on the stack of paperwork I had to get done. Lilly normally comes into my office to annoy the heck out of me. It is rare if she even comes in here to help me out with the paperwork like she should considering she is the acting Luna for the pack. Though I do give her props for making sure everyone in the pack is well taken care of, especially the pups. I could hear Lilly tapping her foot on the ground while humming. I attempted to ignore her but failed miserably.
“Do you have anything better to do besides annoying me?” I slammed the pen on the desk, glaring at her. She immediately perked up with her annoying cheery smile. “You do realize I have a mountain load of paperwork I have to do?” I massaged the temples of my forehead. Lilly got up out of her seat and walked to the side of the desk I was on. She jumped her butt onto my desk while crossing her legs. I held my glare on her.
“Well, I was wondering what is going to happen to the rogue that sent Niklaus to the hospital.” Of course, that was what she was most worried about. I sighed leaning back into my chair. “Well…” She leaned forward putting her arms on her legs.
“I don’t know yet.” I lied to her. I knew full well that I was going to keep the rogue in the jail cells under neither the pack house. There was something about her that seemed familiar but I could not figure out what. So I am determined to keep her locked up until I find out who she is. Lilly leaned back putting the palms on the desk, giving me her signature ‘I don’t believe you’ look. “What??”
“Blade I have known you my whole life,” She jumped off the desk and got in my face, “I can tell when you are lying because your eyes get a darker shade of blue.” A frustrated growl escaped my mouth, not meaning to. “Oh we are going to growl at me now. Just because you are the Alpha doesn’t mean I can’t wipe the floor with your ass.” I knew she could because she has done it before and I have never feared for my life more than when she beat my ass for punching Diedrick.
“Just sit down and I will tell you” Sighing, I watched her walk over to one of the chairs that is on the other side of the desk. “I plan on keeping her down in the jail cells.” I leaned my elbows on the desk while folding my hands together and touching my chin. She glared at me to continue. “There is something oddly familiar about her, so I plan on keeping her in the cells until I figure out who she is.” Lilly slapped her hand to her face.
“Are you kidding me?” She got up from the chair slamming her hands onto the desk. “That poor girl is down there probably scared out of her mind and you didn’t even give her clothes to wear.” I attempted to respond but she didn't give me the chance. “This is too inhuman even for you Blade. How on earth are you going to find out who she is if you just keep her locked up? You won’t. Let her out of the cells and stay in one of the rooms here in the pack house. She can even stay on the same floor as Diedrick, Niklaus and I.” She walked around the desk pushing my chair back. “What better way of getting to know who she is than gaining her trust. I can even personally watch over her and make sure she doesn’t do anything bad.”
“Lilly are you nuts?” I stood up from my chair looking down at her. “That rogue put Niklaus in the hospital with multiple broken bones and yet you want me to allow her to wander around the pack house. Hell if Diedrick wasn’t there to stop the filthy rogue, Niklaus would probably be dead right now and I would be down my head fighter. What if she does that to another pack member?” I raised my voice a bit.
“She was scared of course she is going to attack and attempt to defend herself. I would have done the same if I was in that position.” Lilly yelled back at me while jabbing her finger into my chest. Very hard might I add. “That should give you an indication to add her to the pack. She took down our head fighter in a fight, that means she has some sort of combat training. The only other people that were able to take Niklaus in a fight and win were you and Diedrick. She could help train the new fighters. None of our other fighters can beat Niklaus in a fight.”
She does have a point and you know it.
Not now Killer.
“Look I get where you are coming from. I really do but I have to do what is good for the pack and letting a rogue walk around is not going to look good.” I tried to explain myself but Lilly just huffed out a laugh. “Lilly, I am serious right now.”
“How do you think Alya would react to you doing this?” She crossed her arms.
Did she really bring our dead mate into this? I should rip her head off.
As much as I would love that, she is still my sister and we cannot do that.
“Don’t you dare bring Alya into this.” I growled through my clench teeth. I could not believe Lilly would even mention Alya to me.
“I am and I did,” Lilly stepped closer to me. “She would be disappointed in you. She believed in giving rogues a second chance because there is good somewhere in them. She would want you to give this rogue a chance and you know that.” I clenched my jaw even harder knowing she was right. “Don’t let Alya’s death be in vain. Give this poor girl a chance, I will even help you figure out who she is.” Lilly put her hand to her chest before letting it fall to her side.
“Fine if it will get you to shut up!” I slammed my fist on the desk as I let my wolf slip through. She smiled as she lightly tapped my check as a thank you. I closed my eyes taking deep breaths to help calm down. Once I was calmed down, I opened my eyes once again. “I’ll mindlink for Diedrick to release her from the jail cell.” I slumped back into my chair rubbing my forehead.
“Thank you big brother.” She used her sweet girly girl voice that I despise so much. She made her way towards the door.
“Grab a pair of clothes for her to wear and give them to Diedrick.” I yelled at her as the door began closing behind her. I heard a high pitch okay through the door. Ugh she is going to be the death of me.
I still wanna bite her head off.
My mom will kill me if we lay a hand on her little angel.

My wolf let out an unsatisfied growl as I let out a frustrated sigh. “Diedrick go get the rogue from the cells.” I mind linked my Beta.
“And where am I moving her to?” He mind linked back.
“She will be moving into one of the spare rooms on the second floor of the pack house.”
“I don’t mean to be overstepping your authority, but are you sure this is a good idea?”
“I am pretty sure you want a happy mate and not a stubborn pissed off one right now”
“Ah so this is lovely Lilly’s idea then. She is stubborn either way just like her older brother” Diedrick laughed through the mind link.
“Diedrick! Just go get the bloody fucking rogue from the cells please.” I was getting irritated at this point. He is my best friend and all but there are times I just want to punch him in his face.
“Okay okay keep your head screwed on there. I am going to need clothes for her unless you want her walking around the pack house in her birthday suit. I mean the male wolves probably won’t min…”
“Lilly is already on it. She should be getting you clothes for the rogue.” I stopped him from completing his sentence. Just when I thought I got the image of the rogue naked out of my mind from last time, Diedrick goes and puts it back into my head. You got to admit though she had a nice set of racks for a rogue.
Killer I swear to god I will find a way to kill you without killing myself if you don’t shut up about her rack. You nonstop talked about it last fucking night. I never understood why wolves are so pervy and I don’t think I will ever understand.
“Hey bro can I borrow your credit card and one of your cars or trucks? So, I can take the girl shopping for clothes.” Lilly mind linked me. I took a minute before answering her to slightly laugh.
“No, I can’t afford to keep repairing my cars and trucks because you decided to put a dent in them every time you get behind the wheel. As for the credit card, why don’t you ask your mate Diedrick.” At that I put up a block on mind links. I didn’t not need any more interruptions while I try to finish up the paperwork that I need to get done by today before the Elders ring my neck for getting behind again. All I needed was for them to try to tell me I’m unfit to be Alpha because I don’t have a Luna besides me to help with the paperwork. Hopefully I can have some peace and quiet now.

Unfortunately, the silence only lasted for a good few hours before my office doors were being shoved open. I sighed frustrated at this point; I wasn’t even halfway done with my paperwork. I looked up to see one of my park guards storming his way toward my desk. I glared at him because he should have known by then that guards are not allowed to barge into my office unannounced.
“Did you know that your so-called sister is hanging out and shopping with a rogue at the mall?” He slammed his fist onto the desk. I leaned back in my chair with my arms waiting to see where this is going to go. “She is supposed to be the acting Luna, protecting the pack members not being threats into the pack and allowing said threats walk around free.” He raised his voice at me. I stood up from my chair, leaning over while putting my hands on the desk for support.
“Let’s get one thing clear here Ryker, we may have grown up with each other and I might be your brother’s best friend but that gives you no right to raise your voice at me. I am your Alpha and you will treat me with respect.” Ryker removed his fists from the desk. “And the only people who are allowed to barge into my office unannounced are Niklaus, Diedrick and Lilly. Last time I checked you are none of those people. You are a guard that needs to be at the pack border with the rest of the guards while your commander and head fighter is in the hospital recovering.” My voice began to raise in volume while Ryker looked like a wolf with his tail between his legs. “I am the one who allowed the rogue to walk among the pack and Lilly is the one watching over her to make sure she stays in line. So, if you have a problem with my decision making, you take it up with Diedrick and he will bring it to my attention. You do not go directly to me ever, understood?” Ryker nodded his head while trying to avoid eye contact with me. “Now leave,” he hurried towards the doors, “Oh if I ever hear you bad mouthing my sister, your acting Luna, ever again I will have you stripped from the pack.” He froze for a moment before he made his way out the doors. I slumped back into my chair for the second time that day. I could not believe Ryker constantly undermined my authority.
Well, you did choose Niklaus as the Gamma and head fighter for the pack over him.
Because Niklaus is a better fighter than Ryker.
Yeah, but Niklaus wasn’t originally from our pack remember. His family came over to our pack from the Golden Moon Pack seeking safety when he was only 15.
I know but he proved himself to this pack when we were under attack and all Ryker did was tremble in fear. Now if you wouldn’t mind, I would love to get the rest of this paperwork done before dark. I picked up my pen and began going through paperwork again reading over everything before I signed my name down at the bottom. I had to go through all of our business paperwork to make sure we had money continuing to come into the pack. After another 3 hours I was finally finished with all my paperwork that needed to be finished today. I got up from my chair walking towards my office window and noticed it was already dark out. I looked down at the garage outside to see that Lilly and the rogue were already back, but what caught my attention was that Niklaus was standing in front of his truck. I watched the whole event between them. Lilly and the rogue made their way into the pack house and Niklaus went to park his truck into the garage. He stormed his way out of the garage and into the house. I prepared for him to be storming into my office any minute now. I counted down from 3 on my fingers and sure enough right on cue he was aggressively swinging the office doors open.
“You really let that rogue live after she nearly tried to kill me.” He stopped short of my desk. “What is going through your mind to even decide that? She could be a threat to the pack.” He started to storm back and forth through my office while swinging his arms around aggressively.
“I understand you are pissed, Niklaus but my decision on letting her stay here is final.” I leaned against the window seal with my arms crossed. “And you are going to have to try to get along with her because she is going to be working alongside you on combat training the older pups of the pack.” He stopped in his tracks and stared at me in disbelief. “She is the first person besides Diedrick and me to ever beat you in a fight.”
“So, you are just going to hand over my position to her because I lost in a fight to her.” I was about to respond when Lilly walked in. She went and took a seat in a chair that was next to Niklaus.
“Niklaus we can finish this conversation later; I need to speak with Lilly in private please.” I put my arms to my side and pushed myself off the window ledge. Niklaus stormed out of the office. I sighed before turning my attention to my sister. “What did you find out about her?” Lilly got up out of the chair and walked towards me.
“Well her name is KJ and about 9 years ago she woke up with no memories of who she is or who her family is.” She leaned her shoulder on the wall next to me. “She only knew the name KJ because she was supposedly wearing a necklace at the time with those letters on it.” My headache for the day grew even bigger than I thought it could. I rubbed my temples for what seemed like the millionth time. “I really want to help her regain her memories. She most likely became a rogue by force and no pack wanted to adopt her in. And if we help her regain her memories, we could find out why she seems so familiar to…” She was cut off by a very high-pitched scream followed by Niklaus voice ringing through the house, “WHO THE FUCK USED ALL THE HOT WATER!!!” Lilly and I burst out laughing
I guess KJ is settling in nicely.
