Watching the Castellan bow his head and thank him, Jacob was just a little bit embarrassed.
It's just a Happy Meal man, calm down...
"Er, don't worry about it." Jacob gave his cheek a small scratch, embarrassment still running a pink flush on his cheeks. "Just remember to pay for your meal."
"I wouldn't dream of it. On my honour as Castellan of Xiaowen city, I promise to pay you in full for this delicious meal." He raised his head and thanked Jacob once more, smiling happily as he went back to his Happy Meal and continued eating it.
Seeing the Castellan's wild change in mood, the guards decided that they couldn't wait any longer either and dug into their food - immediately understanding why the Castellan reacted as he did.
This was delicious! Nothing else they'd ever eaten could compare!
The firm, crunchy breadcrumbs coating the outside of the chicken nugget seem only to work as a container for the rich, juicy chicken meat inside. It was unlike any other chicken previously experienced by their taste buds; the juiciness of the white poultry alone burst with flavour and warmth, sending the guards into a spiral of experiential happiness.
Seeing his customers enjoyably tuck their meals away, Jacob felt a bit of satisfaction for the first time after serving people at McDonald's.
Back on Earth, people didn't have this kind of happy, blissful expression when they ate food at the restaurant. 9 times out of 10 he'd see either see 8 year old kids, elderly people who are disappointed with themselves for eating fast food, or people who are in a rush.
Jacob had never once seen a face in the restaurant that enjoyed the food, purely for the sake of the food.
[3x Customers fed! 15 Fast Food points collected!]
[Keep up the good work, host! We have a culture to spread!]
If the system had hands, Jacob felt it would have given him a thumbs up, which made for a funny scene in his head.
Giving a little chuckle to himself, he watched on as his customers hungrily devoured their food.

"Gods, that was the best meal I think I've ever had!" Chen Yu sighed with satisfaction and leaned back into his chair, the soft cotton padding forming a comfortable seat.
Relishing in the bliss, he felt as if he could still taste the deliciousness of that 'Happy Meal' on his tongue - making him crave more.
But wait, such a divine meal couldn't possibly be cheap, right?
Looking up at the owner who had cooked the feast, Chen Yu noticed the smile on his face and wondered if he'd be able to afford it...
"Are you all finished with your meals? If so, I'll have to provide you lot with the bill." The words were like hammers to Chen Yu, and with a creaky smile he thought about how expensive such a meal could be.
"W-What will that be, Owner?" He asked shakily.
"3 spirit stones, one for each Happy Meal." The owner held his hand out and waited for his payment, a rather neutral expression painting his face.
Chen Yu - incredibly shocked about the cheap price - mindlessly brought out three spirit stones from his pocket and placed them in the owner's hands.
It wasn't as if a spirit stone was that cheap. In fact, a single spirit stone was worth around a hundred gold taels, which was worth 100 silver taels.
To put that into perspective, a middle class family of four could survive on 1 gold tael for around a month, making spirit stones incredibly powerful in purchasing power.
But to cultivators? Well, they can summon storms and conjure demons; they can soar to the skies and fight against the heavens!
Especially with regard to someone like Chen Yu, a spirit stone is hardly even a dent in the purse strings.
"Are you... sure that it's only 3 spirit stones?" Looking towards the owner, Chen Yu was still in a small state of shock. What he'd just eaten was more than a hundred times better than the food served at royal banquets, and that can cost up to 1000-10,000 spirit stones!
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Of course?" The owner looked at him weirdly for a moment, as if he were the bizarre one. "It's called fast food for a reason: It's fast, and it's cheap. Would you rather I charge you thousands of spirit stones?"
Quickly standing up, Chen Yu motioned his guards to follow as he quickly made his way to leave, worried the owner may actually charge him that much. "No, no! This is more than satisfactory! Thank you for the delicious meal."
"Well then, thank you for eating at McDaonald's. We hope you'll come back again in the near future!"
Hastily walking out of the store, Chen Yu and his guards felt lighter than ever - as if they'd be rejuvenated and given new life. After waving goodbye to the owner, Chen Yu strode atop his horse once more with confusion on his brow, leaving the scene with more questions than he'd gained answers.
Oh well, he doesn't seem to be a threat for now anyway.

"Fuu..." Jacob sat himself down on one of the chairs, leaning back and looking up at the ceiling with a smile. It'd been a long time since he'd personally served customers, let alone see them smiling and enjoying themselves so happily.
He didn't want to admit it, but he was kind of enjoying this whole 'Otherworldly Restaurant' thing.
[Good job satisfying our first customers!]
Looking at the system notification, Jacob was reminded that he'd earned some kind of points after serving the Castellan and his guards.
What were they called? Fast Food points?
Wondering how he could see how many Fast Food points he had collected, he decided to do the staple of transmigration - the blessing baptism of transmigrating protagonists. Jacob pushed a hand in front of him, and excitedly said:
"Status!"
Glowing with a black window, Jacob saw an image of himself alongside a list of stats and other information.
[Name - Jacob Smith
[Age - 17
[Cultivation - Mortal
[Qi pool - 100
[Strength - 13
[Dexterity - 9
[Agility - 7
[Wisdom - 5
[Intelligence - 7
"Hmm, hey system?"
[Yes host?]
"Could you explain all the stats here for me, along with some corresponding comparisons?"
[Of course! The system would be glad to assist the host!]
The system seemed a little happy to be of help, so it began to show off a bit and explain.
[The Qi pool stat is a marker of the amount of qi you currently hold in your body at the moment. An average mortal has a Qi pool of 100 points, whilst a 1st stage Forging Breath cultivator would have a value of around 1000.
[Each small realm in cultivation is a tenth of the necessary Qi pool for the next large realm. So a Forging Breath realm cultivator would go through a small realm every 1000 points, until they reach 10,000 points in their Qi pool and achieve the Body Forging realm.
Ah, that explains why the novels always said cultivation gets harder to progress as your realm increases. It's kind of like gaining exp in an RPG, huh...
[The same stat difference is equivalent for the rest of your stats. An ordinary mortal has a value of 10 in most areas, whilst a Forging Breath cultivator would have around 10x that value.
[However, depending on a cultivator's specialization, some stats could be higher or lower than others. If one is especially stupid, no amount of training will increase their intelligence or wisdom by a large degree.]
"Well, that makes a lot more sense now. Wait..." Jacob paused and began thinking for a moment. "Oh fuck, I'm actually an ant to these people?! Even the lowest stage cultivator has 10 times my stats!"
[Your weakness is hilarious.]
"Shut up damn it! How do I replace you?!"
