This chapter contains the introduction to the "Quest" where the players select a character to play.
For those unfamiliar, Quests are a story-format where all readers vote on what action to take next.
This chapter can be skipped. Quests are written in the second-person (you) format, which may seem jarring for those not used to it.

You are a newly-appointed manager over at the Matsuno Inc. idol agency located in Tokyo, Japan.
After working your way up the ranks, you’ve finally been deemed ready to guide your very own idols.
Just one at first, but the owner, Matsuno Takechi, has assured you that if you show promise that you’ll be managing your very own idol group before long.
For the sake of convenience, all currency has been translated into their dollar amounts so you can follow the story along without constantly googling the yen to dollar amount.
----
To help you get started, you’ll be assigned an assistant with the name of Matsui Tomo.
Matsui Tomo is well versed in all things idol, but has always declined any promotion that would put her in charge of her own group as she likes her job as it is and doesn’t want the additional responsibility.

Now, the question remains: Who are you?

Manager #1: Yukimori Kyoden
Iron: You don’t easily succumb to pressure.
From one managing position to the next, the board of directors saw the miracles you worked over in the accounts and finance department and they are curious if your skillset can be applied to managing idols.
Well, at least this new position pays a lot more and your previous department basically runs itself by now.
In situations where other crumble – you stand tall.

Manager #2: Matsuno Kojiro
Persuasive: You gain advantage on deal-making.
It only took you a handful of months before you got this idol managing opportunity, but then again – your uncle is the owner.
This blood relation might be able to help you out at times, but they didn’t stop your uncle from firing his own daughter a few weeks back.
Having worked in sales prior to this, you’re known to have a silver tongue and are skilled in making any deal more favourable.

Manager #3: Nagata Miho
Empathetic: You are more aware of other people’s emotions and might notice idol developments before they occur.
The offer to start managing idols came somewhat as surprise.
You were just an average HR worker that would soothe, chat, and support the various idols running around the building.
You haven’t done anything special as far as you know – you were just there for them when they needed some support.
Being an idol can be a terribly difficult job.
But it seems like the words of praise has travelled up the chain and upper management has given you this golden opportunity.

Matsuno Takechi, the owner, is a firm believer in the philosophy that competition is the ideal way to bring out the best in people.
Starting their managing career at the same time as you are Yukimori Kyoden and Matsuno Kojiro.
You all work at the same agency so they are your co-workers, but at the same time they are also your rivals.
It’s likely that the best performing manager will get to keep their new job while the others will be demoted back to their previous roles.
The first three months will be your training period and the company is prepared to turn a loss as long as it means that you learn a thing or two about managing idols.
In addition to that, you are free to invest any profits you make back into your idols.
You’ll have a performance review with the owner, Matsuno Takechi, once this probationary period is over and he’ll decide if you should stick with one idol for now or are ready to manage several.
Matsui Tomo, your assistant, has taken the liberty to start a round of local auditions (-$50,000) and the following prospective idols have caught the eye of the scouts.
