Chapter 22: Return to the Sector

Jijian’s gaze grew cloudy as she looked bitterly off into the distance. Shuxue stood there, processing the information. Zhujiao, lips trembling, walked up and hugged her.

The Sphinx rolled his eyes. “Hey, don’t be a pussy, man. You gotta get over the deaths of over 2,000,000,000,000,000 family members and move on with your life.”

Jijian balked, pulling a light sword out of her throat. Shuxue snapped out of his thoughts and jumped in front of Jijian, shouting.

“Hold up, hold up, calm down!” Shuxue said, his face pale. “You might stab someone’s throat with that!”

“This little fucker gave me no face!” Jijian shrieked, waving her sword around as Zhujiao clung to her, his face conveniently pressing into her ample chest. “He’s courting death!”

“You wanna go? You wanna go?” The Sphinx sneered, his fingers transforming into lion claws. “Hold me back, bro. Hold me back!”

“Let’s all calm down and be rational people.” Shuxue lifted both hands up soothingly. “The Sphinx likes pissing people off, and Zhujiao likes pissing people off, and you like pissing people off. Why don’t we offend people together? From a mathematical perspective, that would be much more efficient!”

“I don’t like offending people, it just happens naturally!” Jijian grumbled, calming down. “How can I be blamed for other people giving me no face? Anyway, you guys still haven’t answered my question.”

Zhujiao disengaged his face from her chest, a confused expression on his face. “What question?”

“What’s your relation to the Zhujiao clan?” She asked, her eyes narrowing.

“I’m Zhujiao!” Zhujiao shouted. “I don’t know about your question, but I’m Zhujiao!”

Shuxue pushed Zhujiao aside, bowing to Jijian. “Apologies, but we have to go. There’s an intruder alert in the Infinity Sector, Zhujiao! Teleport us back at once!”

“Enemies are in the base?” Zhujiao paled.

“Protect the base!” Shuxue yelled, grabbing Zhujiao by the shoulder.

“We need to protect the base!” Zhujiao shouted, teleporting Shuxue, Zhujiao, and the Sphinx back.

Immediately, they were teleported back into the throne room of the Infinity Palace. Pyramids of tens of thousands of jade slips piled up in front of Shuxue’s throne.

“Kill them all!” Zhujiao shouted, letting loose a 1 that poked a jade slip out of the nearest pyramid. “Wait, where are the intruders?”

The door burst open, and a group of guards ran in. “Intruders in the throne room! Secure the perimeter!”

“INTRUDERS!” Zhujiao yelled. Right before Zhujiao and the guards were about to attack each other, Shuxue coughed.

“Calm down, everyone.” Shuxue said, hiding behind Zhujiao as a guard shot an algebra blade at him. “It’s me, the Patriarch!”

The guard paled, falling to his knees. “Forgive me, Patriarch!” He screamed as he smashed his forehead onto the ground. “I don’t want to die! I have a wife and son!” He was kowtowing so hard that the floor was stained with his blood.

Shuxue nodded, motioning for the guard to rise. However, the guard was too busy kowtowing, and did not see.

“Please, Patriarch, I have wronged you, but it was only a lapse in judgment. I still want to have five more children and have a two-week vacation at the Isosceles Triangle Museum. It’s too soon for me to die!” The guard sobbed. His forehead had made a dent in the ground.

“Chill out, man.” The Sphinx said, amused. “Nobody’s oppressing you.”

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

The guard stopped kowtowing, but continued to bow to Shuxue. Seeing this, Shuxue turned back to Zhujiao, taking him by the arm. As he led Zhujiao out of the throne room, Shuxue noticed the guard had died from kowtowing too hard.

“Right. The intruders are probably outside.” Shuxue said in a flat voice. Actually, there was no intruder. He just didn’t want Zhujiao to get involved with that Jijian character!

Shuxue originally hadn’t paid much attention to the wanted posters, but back when they were still walking to the tomb with Daoli, Zhujiao had been babbling out light swords nonstop. Daoli was lecturing Zhujiao at the time, but neither of them had paid any attention to her. Of course Shuxue had learned about Jijian and all her other personas.

What he had found out upon meeting Jijian, was that they were all the same person! Shuxue shuddered at the thought.

“She offends people faster than Zhujiao!” Shuxue muttered, wiping some sweat off his forehead. “If she joined our Infinity Sector, we’d have all eight great Sectors on us by tomorrow at midnight!”

Shuxue did not want to deal with Calculus stage experts. The gulf between the Calculus stage and the Algebra stage was like Heaven and Earth! Who knew how many derivative artifacts the eight great Sectors had? Even Plot Armor couldn’t overcome derivative artifacts!

It was much better to leave Jijian completely ignorant of the Infinity Sector. By herself, she was wreaking havoc in Continent 10. She even managed to rile up the Ji Clan! Shuxue needed unofficial diplomats like her to conduct undercover foreign relations. If undercover diplomats knew they were undercover diplomats, then their covers would be blown. Clearly, Shuxue was doing Jijian a favor by not revealing that she was working for him without the either of them knowing it.

As they walked out of the Infinity Palace, they saw a great crowd gathered outside.

“Look, Meinu’s back from visiting her family!”

“Her 6-year old breasts are so unobtrusively dazzling, like a blooming lotus shrouded by a pristine field of chrysanthemums.”

“I hope she never starts puberty. I can’t get enough of her pert butt.”

At the center of the great commotion was a blue-haired girl with skin so pale she ought to see a doctor. Her tender and immaculate face was completely unaffected by the many gazes of the crowd.

Her calm and indifferent attitude could be compared to the blooming of a lotus, which is the epitome of things that are calm and indifferent. At such a young age, she already had the air of a refined lady. It would be hard to imagine how she would affect the Tesseract after her breasts finished growing.

That elegant hair, that delicate face, those large, round eyes, those rosy lips, that snow-white skin! This was undoubtedly Meinu, the most beautiful and unique girl anyone had ever seen. She was definitely not your generic pretty girl. Nope, not at all similar to other pretty girls.

Zhujiao’s eyes bugged. “Oh my god! Meinu, that girl I really really really like but totally forgot about for some reason completely unknown to me! I have to talk to her!” He strode off, completely forgetting about the matter of the intruder.

Seeing this, Shuxue shrugged and went back to his throne room to process some jade slips. It seemed he was saved the trouble of telling Zhujiao that some rat or a blade of grass was the intruder.

Author note: This is the third introduction of Meinu, and the first time I actually had time to go into detail to describe her unique, one-of-a-kind physique. This time, I have taken the liberty of using the introduction of Xun Er in Chapter 1 of Battle Through the Heavens and Every Hot Girl Introduction Ever In Xianxia. Thanks, BTTH! Thanks, Gravity Translations!
