“Dear Sam: I'm glad that soon the toaster towers will be done. Hopefully by next week thare be done and hear really soon the holidays will start. Oh Nightmare night, Hartsworming and Lunar solis. From Vera & Luna” I put the letter done and notest something sticking out of the envelope. I pulled the thing out and saw a picture. It was black and white picture of Luna and Vera hugging each other. there was a righting saying. “See you soon.” I smiled and put it down.
I heard knocking on the door. “Hay sam can I come in?” I heard Grover.
“Ya shore come in.” I told him. Grover came in with his ‘assistant’ Crack that cadence let Grover keep.
“Ok this is very cool Sam. I teched Crack how to talk!”
“Relly!”
“Ya! After two weeks I finally got him to speak. Go on Crack say hello to Sam.”
“H- Hillo. Som” Crack sad poorly.
“Well it's certainly impressive. Well have a nice day. I gotta go and make sure that none of the toaster towers are broken.”
“Well have a nice Day.”
After that I went out of my room and went down the stairs. As I went done I saw some guards holding the new guns the factory's been turning out. The guns also have straps on them as well. After walking out of the palace I headed to the nearest completed toaster tower. When I got to one I had to walk up some stairs then walk halfway around to get to the power switch. Once I got there I looked up and pulled the switch. The roods at its top started to glow and in mere moments I felt the warmth. Then I turned it off and gone to the next tower. A worker at the base of the tower grabbed a sticker of approval and put it on the tower. We continue this a couple more times. I climb up, turn it on and off then if it works. He put the sticker on it. Soon after a couple of hours of training towers on and off a handful of guards ran around the city yelling. “The City is Under attack! The City is under attack!” He repeated it over and over again. Every pony ran into their homes.
I quickly went down and ran to the palace. Crowds ran around and shuffled me. Trying to get to places and I saw guards rush out of the city. When I made it to the palace I heard mass panic. When I got in it was total cayoses. There were nobles running around trying to get out, Grover and Crack were nowhere to be found, some guards seemed to be having a mental breakdown and in the throne room there was a note on the throne saying. “Off to Canterlot. Love Cadence and Shining Armor.” I felt overwhelmed but then I noticed a glass of water. I got an Idea. I used my star trick and shouted Loudly. “EVERYONE LISTEN TO ME!” as the flash of light went around the rooms and Every pony stopped what they're doing and started to listen to me. Then I began to speak.
“Listen, the monarchs are gone and Grover is nowhere to be found. So i'm going to be in charge of this ship and Im-”
“No you're not! I am.” a noble said from the crowd. Then a head full of guards just dragged him away.
“As I was saying. This is a war not training! I decree that I be General secretary until we end Sombra’s Cult!” I posed for a moment and thought to myself. “Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me.” for a brief moment there were silents.
Then one of the guards came up to me and asked. “What is your first order General?”
I studied for a moment in disbelief, then I said. “Lock down the City! Ones with guns go to the front lines and give them bullet hell! Spears Sallens patrol the city! Mages go to the crystal heart and I'll meet you guys there. And every pony els go find grover and Crack!”
Every pony quickly disbursed and I went up to the tip of the palace and when I got there, there were mages waiting for me.
“Good,” I said. I painted the markings on the floor and ceiling. “See those markings.” they nodded their heads. “This whole room is enchanted. It may sound crazy but if we can use the whole palace as a catalyst. we could shield the city.”
One of the mageses came up to me and asked. “How do we do that?”
“I do not know but we can sore try.”
Soon the mages went downstairs to get some books from the library to figure it out. I stayed in the room and looked out of the window. There was a telescope. I used it to look at the battlefield. I saw a lot. Spear men hiding behind shields and stabbing the enemy. Sombra’s forces seemed to be made up of soldiers that were basic armor but a hand the helmets controlling them. Both sides had pegasi swiping down and attacking and mages using magic lasers and shields as well. I quickly ran down the stairs to the cleaning closets. To get anemia and bleach but half way there a few guards came to me with Grover and Crack tied up and gagged with rope. “General. we found them hiding in the bathroom.” One of the guards told me. “Good tack them to the throne room and un-gagge them.” I commanded.
After that I went to the clostit I looked for cleaning products. All I needed was their ingredients wise. I quickly grabbed the anemia and bleach, then took them to the royal kitchen. When I got there I grabbed as many gars as possible and set them all on the floor. Once I got that done I rushed to the throne room. When I got to the throne room I continued to run and jumped on the throne, and when I did it moved slightly.
“So what just happened?!” Grover asked.
“I took charge of the kingdom.” I told him.
“Uuhhh…”
“Let's just say I got lucky.”
“Well what's going on in the front lines?!”
“The guns should be there shutting down the enemy. And before you say that a new weapon and we don't know the dangers. Ya but I sure know.”
“Well ya but how did you know the outcome? You're the person that invented the thang. Right?”
“Well yes and no but once this whole thing is over i’ll explain it to you but right now we have bigger issues to deal with.”
“We at least untie me and Crack.”
“Ya shore.”
I went behind Grover and untied him and Crack. I went back up stares to the crystal heart. Grover followed me up as well. As we entered the room holding the crystal heart, Grover's eyes widened as he saw the mages tinkering with the pattern and Books all over the floor.
“What are you doing with the Hart!” Grover said in shock.
“Well to figure out how it works.” I said as I grabbed the telescope to check the battlefield. The sun seemed to be setting and Sombras forces created trenches around the city. “Oh that's good.” I said in delite.
“What good?” Grover asked.
“Well the Enemy dug trenches.”
“But they destroyed the railroads leading in the city. Even though we have food and water that lasts the whole city a month and considering how many guns we have compared to bullets it is just a couple of days worth of ammo. And there was just a day or two from canterlot on train… you know what that aint all that bad.”
“Well I was going to make mustard gas.”
“What's mustard gas?”
“Oh boy is a gas that melts organic life.”
“How in tarteris! Is that possible? Is it like some kind of alchemy!?”
“Ya gust without the magic part.”
“At this point I'm just stopping asking any more questions.”
“Well then. Can you go get some charcoal, a few bandanas and sewing stuff for me please.”
“Yes sir!”
Then Grover flow through the window and I walked down stairs and asked a guard to go make a trebuchet. The guard ran off to gather pony power and resources to make such a thing. A while Grover with the resources I requested. He handed me a bucket filled with charcoal and the other things I requested. “Good now let's get to work.” I told him. He just nodded and followed me. When we went back to the kitchen I grabbed the bandanas and sewing stuff. I sewed two bandanas together but kept a pocket opened to put the charcoal in. After I put the coal in, I opened a jar, poured a little bit of ammonia and chlorine in it, closed the lid and went to the next jar and poured a little bit in those as well and so on and so forth. After a couple of hours of doing that I got all the jars in the room done.
I asked Grover “Can you go get a sack to put all of these jars in?” He left and just under a half an hour he got one in and we filled the sack. Once we got done filling the sack I grabbed a few guards to help us carry it to the trebuchet outside of the palace.
Then one of the guards asked. “What’s in the bag Generale?”
“Well it is filled with jars that have a nasty surprise.” I told him as we loaded the wagon.
“Are jars going to be loaded in the trebuchet?”
“Yep.”
Then Grover turned around. “A Trebuchet!” Grover said in shock.
“Ya all of the gunpowder is being invested in the bullits.” I told Grover.
Once we put the bag in the guard and pulled the wagon and Grover and I walked by it. As we walked through the streets of the city. It was empty just like I needed. When I turned my head to look at the homes. One of which had a little one looking out a window. Once we reached the outskirts of the city we saw the trebuchet. The front lines looked pretty calm at the moment. Sombra’s forces are in trenches and our gun ponies laid on the ground behind short walls made of dirt. I walked up to the guards and said. “Hay we have jars in the wagon, put a couple of them in and just launch them in the trenches.” one of them nodded and said. “Ok you guys heard him.” They started to load the machine with jars and then fired. Sadly we didn't see the jars fly off because at this point it was night time.
After a while of catapulting jars we stopped because we can’t tell if it is working or not. So me and Grover decided to go to the palace but just as we were about to start walking the city went into a black out. There were mere moments of silence, then the blue laser from the palace turned pinkish purple and a magic force field was created. It encompassed the city and ended barely behind the trenches. “Go! Go! Go! Fish them out! And slaughter them!” I told every pony. I quickly trend to Grover “Tell everypony to atack.” I said to him, He nodded and flew off. Then the power came back and I decided to go back to the palace. Agen the streets were empty and a little cooler this time.
I climbed the stairs of the palace. I wanted to go to rooms that I haven't gone to. I have been in that dining hall where the staff ate their food, the verses rooms and offices but not the private rooms like one’s for nobules and rooms that the royal family can go to unless someone had permission to go two. But since I'm in charge now I cood. But I have to go all the way up to the crystal heart to congratulate the mages that worked hard on it. As I walked up the halls I noticed power cords leeding the heart. When I got there I saw the heart connected to the power grid and the mages that worked hard on it were sleeping on the ground. Not injured nor dead. Just tired.I Put out my hoof and petted the one that is closest to me, then left the room.

I walked down the halls trying to find the royal library, one of the places that I haven't gone to. Luckily most rooms are labeled because of the size of the place. Crack was walking with me. Mainly because Crack wanted company, but after a while I found the room. “Royal Library.” the sine said above the door. So I opened the door and it looked nice. Red carpet, nice dark oak shelves and three soft brown chairs around a coffee table. Sadly the table had a dark stain on it but it’s fine. I walked towards the shelfs and looked through the books to see what they had. There were books like, “Spellcaster”, “War of the Lands”, “The Love Poison” and Many more. After a while I encountered a book that I heard alot about. “Daring do” is the title of the book. Apparently it’s supposed to be a junerick adventure book but it became so popular that it became a big series.
I grabbed the book and sat on one of the chairs. Crack went to sleep on one of the other chairs. When I was about to open the book Grover opened the door coming into the room.
“Hay Sam… we won the first battle.” Grover said as he went to sit on a chair.
“Well that’s good. Oh did that mustard gas work?” I asked.
“Yes. it didn't kill them but it certainly gave them burns.”
“How about the casualties?”
“Well for our side we lost like 50 or 60 ponies but Sombra’s lost a couple hundred.”
“Well that’s good, hopefully soon Equestera will come to our aid.”
“Well they should be here by tomorrow night and certainly by the end of the week.”
“Ya hopefully sombra’s forces don't come crashing in by then.”
“Well I'm going to bed.” Grover said as he got up.
“Well good night.”
“You too.”
Grover left the room and I started to read the book. The first chapter is about Daring Do finding a map in her dead professor’s cabinet to an artifact called “the gold fix.” or something along those lines. After that part something odd happened. When I trend the page the dook was blank. I lucked up and Crack was gone and the door leading out as well. “Well then I guess that i'm asleep now.” I said out to the void that is my mind. I got up and wandered around. After a while I heard something moving in the shelves. Then I saw a snout, not just any snout but Luna’s snout. She walked forward. As she walked in I decided to talk to her.
“Hay Luna.” I said in a friendly tone.
“Oh Sam, are you ok?! Did Sombra take over and you're in a cell?!” Luna said in concern.
“No, I'm fine, I just fell asleep on a chair.”
“Oh thank my sister.”
“Well we're surrounded but we manage to use the Crystal Heart as a shield generator for the whole city.”
“Oh really did those guns help?” Luna asked as she took a seat.
“Ya a lot and I took over the city.”
“... what?!”
“I didn't take it by force or anything, I simply just took charge.”
“Oh well that's one way to take over a state.”
“Well I'm not the ruler by law and once Sombra is defeated I’ll be stepping down and returning the throne to cadence.”
“Hay Sam, I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time.”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Well. I've.” She started to shrink and deage.
“Well what?”
Luna started to cry. “THE KNOCKS DROPPED!”
“Knocks dropped?”
“No!” Luna naw a filly cried out.
I went to sit by her and hugged her. “Do you mean the atomic bombs happen?” I asked as she clinged to my forelage.
“I'M so sorry. On the day of the ga. Gala I saw it you’r. Your home is gone.”
Sefrule thoughts and emotions come through my head. Some books coat on fire and trend to ash while others turn to solid ice and some just had theater pages torn out. Cambints stretched in shape and size before valiantly crushed. When I looked at Luna. She was wipering and holding my forelage. She was scared of what I was going to say or do. I took a deep breath and then everything stopped.
“Luna… thank you. Not just for having the courage to tell me but also for thanking me.” I told her.
“What are you thinking me?!” She asked.
“Well Luna back then I would probably have had an essential crisis. But looking back on it. It would've been for the better.”
“Like what.”
“Well for one both governments are gone so no more nerve stapling and extreme worker exploitation. Also us humans are like cockroaches so odds are we would probably build back up.”
“Relly!?”
“Yes and you. You saved me. You saved me from a life of hell. If i dependent accept your offer to this world. I would be dead by now.” I quickly hugged her.
“Thank you Sam for being my first friend in a really long time.” She hugged me back and started to turn her normal self. We sort of just got off the chair because it wasn't a love seat.
“Well well well.” A somewhat deep masculine voice. we heard behind. We turned around and it was Sombra but more alive.
“Fuck off.” I told him.
“That’s no way to speak to a KING!”
He stabbed his horn to my chest and I woke up. A guard slammed the door open and asked. “Are you ok Genale?!” I was breathing heavily but I replied to the guard. “I just had a nightmare, that's it.” he nodded his head and left the room. I looked around the room and Crack was gone but everything seemed normal. The book was on the floor so I picked it up and put it up and left the room. Shortly after I came across a clock and it was 6:45 in the morning.
I went to the royal kitchen to make myself coffee. The coffee maker was one of those you make the coffee yourself. So I grabbed the coffee powder and put the paper cup in the coffee maker. Boil water then put the powder in the cup and once the water was hot enuff I poured it in and made the coffee and it made a mess everywhere because I forgot the cup. I grabbed the table sheet and cleaned it up. Luckily there was a maid outside and she took the sheet.
I walked to the crystal heart to see how the shield was doing. When I looked through the window I saw cracks all over the shield. I grabbed the telescope and saw what was going on. There were Spmbra’s army bucking the shelled. Grover walked by with a cup of tea in his claw.
“Hay Sam, what are you lo- Aaaaaaaaaaa!” Grover screamed seeing the cracks.
“Well soon we gada do this whole thing agen.” I told Grover. Then the shield shattered.
I looked through the telescope to see what tactics they were doing. It seemed that they were running in a zigzag motion and dodging the bullets. “Grover! Go and tell the guards to fortify the palace!” I commanded. He ran to get the guards. I looked back at the battlefield and a few made it to the defenses, then more started to make it and soon folded our defenses. Knowing that Equestrian forces are on their way. I grabbed the heart and took off the cables and took it out of its place. I ran down stairs to Shining’s and Cadence’s bedroom and hid it under their bed.
All through the streets Sombra’s forces picked off any resistance. But were ready to hold on to this palace. As the gardens held on the choke points leading in the palace. Crack, Griver, nobles and the maids hid in rooms and locked their doors. I was in the throne room with my gun held high and ready to shoot whatever is coming. We all knew that this was the last chance to stop him. Time is on our side. The more time we hold off the enemy the closer our allie’s forces are. Agenulen pumped in my veins as I sat on the throne.
I heard the doors open and screams. Everything is on the line. But the noise stopped. No fighting, no screams, no sound of blades clashing. As I sat there waiting, Then one of the guards came in and said. “Your majesty-” I pulled the trigger. I got him in the lage. As I perfected, he wasn't one of my guards. His allusion broke revealing that he was a cultist. Soon the room was rushed. I had barely any time to react. I got pinned down, my catalyst was ripped off and my gun taken away. I squirmed as they put this metal cooler on me, then the dark lord himself came in. Sombra’s reanimated undead body walked up to the throne but before sitting he turned to me and said.
“Well well well. It seemed to be the otherworlder himself.”
“How did you know that?!” I said resisting the metal chains.
“Oh you're a strange being from what I heard from my followers.”
“I gotta say you did a very good job at being ruler, but fell at the end. same as me with your beloved princess.”
“Whate Luna and Celestia were warlords?”
“yes. luckily I preserved the capital to keep my follower’s and slaves safe from them.”
“Well that’s interesting.”
“Yes but while we raid my palace and free my followers. I ask you this. How about you join me and my empire? Or spend the rest of your days locked up and serve your rightful king.”
I had a light bulb. I took a deep breath and said. “Yes my king, I'll be joining you.”
“Good. in order to prove your worth I suggest rating out the others.”
“Yes your majesty.”
Just as I thought they took the caller off but did not give me my catalyst nor my gun. A few soldiers followed me as I walked out the throne room. I pointed at all the hiding spots and they rushed in. After a while we finally got Grover and Crack.
“You tratere!” Grover yelled as the soldiers dragged him out.
“Shut up poultry!” I told him. I turned to the soldiers. “Ok I’ll be having a bit of a ‘chat’ with Grover while you two raid.”
“Why tho?” one of them asked.
“To prove my loyalty.”
They both nodded and two left while the other followed me. I went into a room with Grover and closed the door behind us. Leaving the solder out.
“Sam what are you doing?! I thought we were friends?” Grover said concerningly.
I leaned over and whispered. “I'm not betraying you guys, I'm just buying time.”
“Relly?” Grover whispered.
“Just play along.”
“Ok.”
“Tell me where the Crystal Heart is!” I shouted and gently slapped him.
“AAAaaa! Why would I do that!” Grover yield.
“Oh really you chicken!” I walked back and bucked the door.
“What are you doing to my claw cuffs?!”
“I bet your feathery ass I'll ripen your arms off.”
“No! No! Please d- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
Almost an hour of fake torcher later.
Grover was lying on the bed with a few bruises and the room was totally trashed. I opened the door and walked out of the room. There was the same soldier standing his eyes wide open.
“Well he certainly has massive will. Not once did he give me a hint where the crystal heart could be at.” I told the soldier.
“Well… maybe it could be in a closet.” he said.
“Well then go check.”
Then another soldier came. “King Sombra wants to see you.” he said. I followed him. While we were walking down the halls we heard a loud boom sound from outside. We continued on an aware journey. We walked into the throne room. Sombra sat on the throne. “You're free to go and Otherworlder come and sit by me.” he commanded. I came over and sat beside him. No conversation but it was nice to get to sit down. After a while of just sitting we heard clashing and fighting. Then Luna came bursting through the door and in nice blue painted armor.
“Ah princess Luna we will meet again.” Sombra said.
“Get Sam out of your control!” Luna commanded.
“Oh he joined me by choice. Isn't that right.”
“Yes.” I said
“Well I’m-” Lana said before I shouted.
“TO DO THIS!”
I quickly grabbed his horn and slammed his head on one of the arms of the throne. Snapping his horn off. Luna used her magic to stop the guards. While Sombra scrimned in pane. I ran behind the throne to get some cover. Sombra ran off to get away. Luna came over behind the throne and gave me a simile. She gave me a warm hug and she started to cry a little. I patted her on the back. I went back a little and said. “We got a monster to slay.” so we went off chasing Sombra. As we ran and Luna I decided to ask Luna
“Luna, when will the equestrian army come?”
“Thear fighting outside as we speak.” She told me as she kicked a cultist down stairs.
“And Shining Armor?”
“He’s there two.”
Soon after we cornered Sombra in the royale bedroom. As we got closer to him he hopped off the balkany. “Go after Sombra. I’ll hold his followers off!” Lona said. I went to the balcony and saw Sombra use the leges to climb the wall. I decided to get on the lege as well to catch up to him. As I slowly climbed I saw the city in war but I had to keep going. I almost got to him and I saw one of the spiers. I quickly jumped at Sombra and grabbed him. We both fell on one of the bridges connecting to the spiers. Luckily Sombra broke my fall. Sombra pushed me off. I got up and attacked him. I punched him in the face and he punched me. Soon I pushed him onto the ground. With a broken nose and blood on my lip I grabbed him and started to stand on my hind legs. He was very heavy but I didn't care. “Say hi to your wife for me.” I said before I threw him off the bridge. I lost my balance and fell on my back on the bridge. I layed back and just stayed there until Luna arrived.
